Another subpar experience with Cubesmart. I called to simply ask them to remove the $15 late fee they added to my bill being late a few days BECAUSE when I initially tried to pay online, their system was down. I left town and forgot to pay and simply asked them for grace and remove the late fee as this was my first time being late (and they had a technical error). NOPE, nothing they can do. I called their customer service office, called the office of my unit and both couldn't do a thing. I get it... they have us by the _ _ _ _ _ and they do NOT care. They referred me again to Greg Carr was merciless at our last encounter, so hard pass. BEWARE, the reason they have an unbelievable customer satisfaction rating is because they offer you a free lock when you open an account and give them a five star rating. They buy their reviews. At least this will expedite my closing this storage unit. I've used a few storage companies over my lifetime and Cubesmart is by far the WORST. read more

So I was doing my normal Cleaning when I looked around and realized I'm running out of space. So I went to this storage location and Chris helped me. I told him I knew needed extra space but just didn't know how much or even how the whole thing worked. He was amazing literally explaining every little thing to me about process and prices, showed me the different units available and even though I had so many questions he was so patient and happy to help. My husband and I were here less than a month and all of my husbands Star war's collection worth way over $5,000 was completely stolen... employee working there said we were the 2nd person and as the cop was taking our report he had to go down the hall because someone else stuff got stolen !!! Like others who have left reviews, I would recommend not storing your things here. They change the rates at will. When I asked for an explanation, employees told me that they were going to get back to me after speaking with the District Manager, Todd Haynes. They never got back to me. I followed up in writing numerous times. Todd Haynes ignored emails from April through June, until I reached out to Chris Marr, the CEO. He then corrected the issue, but had no explanation for why everyone was ignoring my emails. I found out later that the employees had broken into my unit during the time that they were ignoring my emails. In December, I discovered that over $12,000 worth of my belongings were stolen. Roland and his staff never got out of their seat when I reported that I had just called the police because my things were ransacked and most of it was gone. There is a reason that there are no cameras inside even after all the thefts. They refused to cooperate with the investigation and the detectives had to get subpoenas from a judge to make them supply things that they should have automatically provided if they had nothing to hide. The insurance is a joke. They force you to buy it when you rent the unit. The insurance denied the claim because they said there has to be evidence of forced entry and they cannot distinguish between CubeSmart employees breaking into the unit vs someone else. So CubeSmart employees made it so that the insurance company, Great American, could deny coverage of CubeSmart's liability. The matter is ongoing. I have been in touch with state legislators and other elected officials about these issues. There are tons of cases of this happening on Yelp, on BBB, and across many other platforms. don't be fooled by the high ratings. the most recent negative review is not even visible because they blocked it. and guess what? it's a customer complaining about THEFT. you will have your things stolen here and even the cops suspect it's the employees. they show zero empathy and don't corporate with you. there is a reason why they don't have security cameras inside the units. customers here pay a monthly fee in order to store their belongings only to realize their belongings are being stolen for PROFIT. and what do they do? nothing. the employees here are a bunch of thieves who watch their security cameras on any customer who seem to be storing in value items from time to time. you guys are pathetic for not helping with the countless victims and upgrading your security systems. it so blatantly obvious it's the people behind the desk that are involved in these thefts. read more

First I should say that the frontline staff (person) at least at this location was friendly and helpful in all my interactions with them; and I fully understand that the specific limitations to support or help were placed on them by corporate. That said, here is my experience with CubeSmart: I rented a large storage unit from CubeSmart to keep all my 'things' safe while being out of the country for work.  Move in was pretty straight forward (initially I was given a unit that was 2 feet shorter than advertised) but the issue was resolved relatively quickly. Twelve days after I moved in I got a call that my unit was broken into, at that time I was 6000 miles away.   I asked what happened; I was told that someone had broken into my unit (only my unit) the night before. That they tempered with the gate keypad (look) and then proceeded to break both of the circular looks I had on my unit; of which one I HAD to purchase from CubeSmart.   To be clear, nobody except myself, knew where I got my storage, or what was in it. (All my furniture, technology, a motorcycle and car). I was told the vehicle are still there but the person that called me was not 'allowed' to tell me more or if the vehicles were damaged. Also, was told that CubeSmart would not file a police report despite the fact that they keypad of their gate apparently was also compromised in this burglary!   "There would only be an internal incident report" ... that was it.  When I asked if someone could maybe send me pictures or a video it took some back and forth until finally they agreed if I signed and NOTARIZED a form which felt like I sign away my first born - but what options did I have?! Again, I was 6000 miles away and all I wanted is to know how "bad" it all was. So I eventually got some picture, they were taken from the door, no video was allowed, so what I got showed very little, most of the 'action' happened in the back of the unit where all my boxes and furniture was. But better than nothing I guess. Also there was (is) video footage of the break in (security cams) ... and NO I would not be allowed to see it, and the company would only keep the footage for 3 months before deleting it.   [Jumping ahead CubeSmart was not even willing to give the video footage to the insurance companies] - Which leaves me to ask: "WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO HIDE?"   Wouldn't it be in their interest to try everything to support one of their customers and take any chance however small to identify the individual that burglarized them and one of their customers (me)??  I had to option, I had to fly back to the US JUST so I could file a police report, and obviously also get the few remaining things the burglars left into safe and secure storage this time.   As I was waiting for the officer to come to take the police report I met another CubeSmart customer; standing outside their unit ALSO waiting for an officer to file a claim. (Their story was very similar to mine, maybe even a bit worse).  After this experience I personally will NEVER use CubeSmart again, ANY CubeSmart location! ... because as willing to help the frontline staff may be, their executives and corporate offices will not allow them, nor does corporate seem to care about the safety of the property in their facilities!   So you decide if the few dollars you MAY safe using CubeSmart is worth the risk having to spend thousands to deal with the results of their negligence and loss of property / memories that you may never be able to recover again!  The photo is of how the boxes that didn't get stolen will likely look like, I guess they didn't like dishes or underwear?! read more

Wow wow wow!!! We needed an urgent space that is perfect for a little grandma to go in and out of. Nat and Roland has helped me so much in the past and BOOM, they did it again!!! Made my reservation, showed up and got a 1 minute tour. Finished in 10 minutes. Painless process. We love the location. Perfect view of golf course. My mom started an offer up business, so easy access to her vintage stuff makes me feel so good knowing she is safe every-time she goes to her storage unit. I'm only going to be short term (4-6 months), but w the perfect space, I may just keep paying (since they run out of space fast) and keep storing stuff we can sell. Thanks guys!!! read more

I was told that I can sign the lease earlier for the future date so I did so and then they started to charge me on the date I came to sign the lease every month saying that the policy is when you sign the lease we start billing cycle. And to change my date wil cost me additional fee. Be careful when you ask the store manager and double check with central office is possible. Definitely will not use again. read more

This review is mainly for Roland the office manager: I'd never used storage facilities in the past but then I found myself needing one last October when I moved back home to Diamond Bar. Not knowing much, I asked the only friend I knew that had a unit and she recommended CubeSmart. Every interaction I've had with their employees have been nothing short of stellar- from pricing to paperwork, I learned very quickly how amazing their staff is. Late September (3 days before my due date) I'm hobbling over with our moving company and I was greeted by Roland whom I spoke to on the phone. Knowing I was exhausted and overheated he made it a point to make the paperwork quick and easily understood. Moving in was a breeze. Fast forward to last week when we finally took everything out of the unit- Roland once again showed how committed he was to creating customer service that is bar none. As my husband and I were loading trip after trip back home to clear out the unit, I decided to leave my red dolly hand truck in the loading area (dumb, I know) thinking we were going to come right back and that it'd be safe. Well, an hour later, as no surprise to anyone, the cart was gone. I chalked it up as a loss and figured I'd never see it again. The next day when I came to check out, I told Roland the story and he said "no promises, but I'll check the security footage and see what I can do." I thought it was sweet of him to offer but I didn't really have high hopes. I got a call today from Roland saying he'd found our hand truck. I couldn't believe it. Honestly- most companies don't live up to their promises WHILE you're in business with them, but VERY FEW companies continue to keep their promises AFTER they have completed your services. Thank you Roland and the rest of the CubeSmart team for this great experience. Cubesmart bought the storage unit Facility that I was renting from and they raise the rent immediately then approximately 2 months after that they raised the rent again and then I called to find out why they kept raising the rent so frequently and they told me that the storage facility that was here before them was charging under the market value which was a lie and tey needed to get the price up to market value and they assured me that the price they were charging me was the best price I was gonna find within a 5 mile radius which was another lie because I found another place right down the street so I moved out from Cubesmart now my problem is after I moved out I had a refund coming back to me for $256.00 and they told me the check would be in the mail with in a week it is now going 5 weeks later and I will still haven't gotten my money and every time I call them they tell me The check has been approved but nobody knows where it's at and they'll have somebody call me back and let me know what's going on and I haven't heard back from anybody in 5 weeks now is that good customer service I don't think so and this is just the first letter they have sorted the wrong person read more
