    Delicious Chicken Parmesan.
    David S.

UPDATE: The 3 stars is only for our most recent visit. A few days ago we visited and I was taken aback by how much the Eggplant Parmesan has changed. As you can see by the picture, it is so much thicker and seems a little more heavily breaded. Because it's thicker, it takes longer to cook...and it seemed a little chewy and undercooked. The Chicken Parmesan, as always, was wonderful. The Sole Francaise (they are always very nice to put Capers on it for us) was, for the first time, only decent. It seemed a bit more bland than usual.

Cucina Rustica never misses. They have the best handmade fresh pasta and chicken parm! The ambiance is lovely for a date night, anniversary, birthday or any other special occasion. You can get multiple meals out of one entree. They use fresh ingredients, so although Italian food can lean on the heavier side, you won't feel disgusting afterwards. Their dirty martinis are no joke! Their parking lot is on the tighter side, especially during peak dining hours, so plan accordingly! Friendly staff and we have always felt welcome.

He genuinely cares about his restaurant and the people he serves. A lot of owners would get defensive over something as minor as "the home fries weren't well done enough," but not Ari. We've been to Hamilton Diner many times and the food is consistently delicious. On this visit, our home fries weren't quite as crispy as we'd asked for. It was a small thing that honestly wouldn't have affected our rating at all -- we know how busy things can get. What impressed me most was Ari personally coming to our table to apologize and bringing out a fresh replacement. He didn't have to do that, but he did - and that's exactly why we'll keep coming back. Thank you, Ari, for your compassion, your humbleness, and the pride you take in your restaurant. You and your team are doing it right. Also sorry for the lack of photos, we dug right into our dishes. I sat at the counter behind Kelly, the woman who I suspect is the owner but was running that grill like a well oiled machine. She works on a 3 ft grill and to do that you have to be organized and fast. She was exactly that. The diner itself is old school, homey, the epitomy of comfort. Tin walls, pictures of family and staff scattered about, and a sign that says "We can't direct the wind, we can adjust the sails" words of wisdom. Regulars come in are greeted by name, and have their custom orders. You can see the lasting impact this place has had on the community. Before long, Kelly herself put my two eggs and sausage plate in front of me. She takes a lot of pride in her work and she should. The potatoes were seasoned well, a good mix of crunchy bits and softer pieces. The eggs were textbook over easy. Couldn't have asked for a better breakfast. I saw a few other items on their menu I want to try, and this diner is a convenient spot between where I live in Johnston and where I work in East Greenwich. I look forward to stopping in again and paying Kelly another visit.

We came in at about 11:10 am as they were probably at about 2/3 capacity the last hour before shutting down for their 2 week vacation period. It took some time to get our breakfast once the order was placed but not an unreasonable amount of time. Plus the atmosphere was relaxing. We sat at the counter as all the booths were full. And I have to admit, eating at the countertop was relaxing. I ordered the JD muffin which is a grilled English muffin with bacon and fried egg for ~$5.95. The outside of the muffin was soft compared to the crisp inside. It was deliciously tasteful with crispy grilled bacon and egg. Much more tasteful than those egg muffins that one can purchase elsewhere at those widespread coffee shops. My partner had a #7 with a side of bacon including 2 eggs scrambled, 2 bacon slices, home fries, 2 pieces of toast and 2 thick tasty plain pancakes of which I had one. I don't usually have plain pancakes but these were very tasty and fluffy. Both of our coffees, hot and iced, came with free refills. We wished the staff a great vacation and left, knowing that this is our new "goto" breakfast restaurant.

My friend had come here before and boasted about their portion sizes, and he was not wrong. I ordered the #10, Harriet's Humdinger, and it was packed with sweet and savory and was enough to easily serve two people. It had eggs (2), bacon (5 slices), toast (2), home fries, French toast (1), and pancakes (2). The eggs were cooked just how I wanted them, the bacon was cooked to the perfect crispiness and the most slices I have ever gotten at a breakfast place, the toast was a bit over toasted but Harriet's has been forgiven, and the home fries were delicious because of the flavor but also because of the different textures - soft, crunchy, slightly chewy. The French toast was simple but so good, and the pancakes were fluffy and massive. The inside is nice, and lots of natural light coming in. It was decorated with St. Patrick's Day stuff, I appreciated the small details. Our waitress was very attentive and charismatic and did a good job of coming around the perfect amount of times.
