Fine dining I didn't expect to find here. When you first pull up, you'll be confused as the restaurant is tucked in a corner of a little plaza. Parking is also a little rough since it's in a little plaza near a 7 Eleven and Starbucks. Once we got there, our party of 15 was escorted to the outside area where it drastically changed our whole perspective on the place. A tree barrier to block the outside noise near the street and canopies with string lights to add to the elegance. Then we all sat down and began to look at the menu. Not going to lie, I feel like the text on the menu was too small but it is what it is. We had ordered a good amount of appetizers to start off with and once we were done with those they came and took our plates and utensils to have a clean meal. That was really nice. I had also noticed they place the lime in a sash to prevent the seeds getting into your meal. On to the wine, I had ordered a Zinfandel and this was surprisingly good for my taste. I appreciated how when they serve you the wine they pour a bit first so you can taste it to see if you like it. Then they pour the rest. I guess this is wine etiquette which I didn't know about. I had ordered the lamb chops medium rare and as much as I looked forward to this, the lamb was just ordinary. It didn't really have a flavor going on and nothing that wowed me. There was more flavor in the spinach and 3 potatoes that came with the dish. First I have to say this restaurant is beautiful! The atmosphere is very romantic and great for dates, family gatherings,s and picture taking. Service is not the greatest but OK. Always have to ask for things and no one really checked on us. What really disappointed me is the food. The only thing I liked is fried calamari and the rest is about average. You would expect more since the place is beautiful. Fettuccini with Duck Confit - 3/5 It is not bad, but not amazing either. It is very blended, needs more flavor. Called on Mother's Day, 4 hours before our dinner to tell us they were cancelling our reservation because they don't allow children under 10. The hostess was unapologetic and said it was my fault for not seeing it in their policies. OpenTable had no notice / confirmation prior to booking. You need to read the fine print in the confirmation email. They didn't offer us anything - not even an ounce of empathy in tone, let alone a cocktail or desert on the house to visit another time. Mind you this place is not fine dining. But they said they are trying to give that 'experience'. All for an overpriced prix fix in a downtown Mountain View. decor!!: I went here for a birthday dinner and it was fancy and beautifully decorated. Outside patio is gorgeous and if i were to come back, I'd only sit outside. Gorgeous chandeliers & the ambiance was so nice. food: absolutely delicious. we destroyed it in a short amount of time. we got the duck confit pasta and the penne pasta and it was just amazing. would definitely come back for just these dishes. also we ordered a strawberry lemonade :) service: very quick and nice servers, came by a good amount of times to made sure we had everything! on top of the game just as expected. location: it's like in a corner & the front of the restaurant is hidden by bushes and tall trees to accommodate seating in the front but you'll know where it is! just go around the bushes haha read more

Came here for lunch, loved the ambience of the restaurant. We didn't get seated outdoors as it was hot but the restaurant has a lovely outdoor seating complete with chandeliers. Loved the food here, plenty of options for vegetarians - the cappellini pomodoro was incredible. I also really enjoyed the bruschetta and the salad. The house bread and homemade herb butter is awesome. The mushroom truffle pizza was not m6 favorite - the crust was too thick/fluffy. On 9/21/25, my party of 3 had dinner at Cucina Venti. Although it touts itself as an Italian restaurant, there were only a couple of things on the menu that were Italian fare. Two of us ordered the ribeye steak, which were $79 each. They were delivered on a cutting board and were so thin and fatty that they looked like steaks you get at Sizzler. I complained to the waiter and he said that they were standard thickness and quality, even while looking at them. The real insult was when the bill came. They charged a 20% gratuity (mandatory and printed on the very bottom of the menu in small print) and then they charged tax on the dinner and on the 20% gratuity. I thought that it was illegal to force a customer to pay a 20% gratuity and then to charge tax on it, but after researching it, I discovered that they had found a loophole around it by posting it on the menu. I will never return to this restaurant. I want to warn other customers so that they don't fall victim to the high prices and bad food and deprived of their choice to tip accordingly. Seriously felt like it's a hole in the whole when pulling into the parking lot, nested between a Starbucks and a 7 eleven. Was very excited to discover great ambiance and flavorful food! Sleek look, lounge music, nice service and yummy dinner. The octopus was cooked well, the paella was on the smaller size but with everything in it, it was very filling. The sea bass was seasoned well and the flavors of the salads were great. Aside from being on the pricier side of things (each dish was around $34 and a glass of wine was $21), my vote is a yes. read more

We made a reservation through yelp and upon checking in they couldn't find our reservation, after some digging around they finally realized that they didn't transfer yelp reservations over to opentable (which is the primary system they use) so they had no record of our reservation. Thankfully they had enough room to seat us but this could have been pretty bad.. We got two entrees and two drinks, overall the food and drinks all tasted pretty good and drinks were refreshing, my only complaint is that the pricing is quite a bit higher than comparable restaurants. For two people with two entrees and two drinks the total was $170 with tip and tax (they also automatically tack on 20% tip which I absolutely hate) the service was pretty good so I didn't mind tipping 20% but I just hate being forced to do it. April 25th, 2023, I came to Cucina Venti for the second time. This review is based on that visit. I attended this dinner with colleagues, and we had appetizers for the table (I don't recall exactly what, but everything I ate was delicious.) As for the drink: I asked the waiter what the sweetest drink he'd recommend was and he mentioned a couple. Of those two, I opted for the Kentucky Gunrunner in honor of my ol' Kentucky home. The drink did not disappoint. I removed a star from an otherwise perfect review score because the service, while kind, was slow. I came in for a birthday dinner last week and everything from the ambiance to the food to the service was 10/10. Once you walk in the ambiance is so elegant and beautiful. They even have outdoor seating with fireplaces and surrounded with flowers. It definitely makes you forget that you're in a complex with 7/11 and Starbucks next door lol. We ate lunch here for the first time and we had a great experience! We ordered grilled salmon, ribeye and seafood paella. Everyone really enjoyed their choices. Sorry no pictures but believe me it was just as pleasing to the eye than to the palate! Although, there were probably 12 other tables being occupied,the table service was quick and attentive. 3.5 I'd say. Nice for a night out since the ambiance works well. Service was helpful with any questions that we had, but water refills were very infrequent and getting the check was rough. Noise level wasn't too bad despite the place being full. We had gotten the sizzling prawns, a spinach salmon salad, and the fettucini with duck confit. I'd say the most successful was the fettucini. It had good flavor but felt like very little. Definitely want more of a good thing. The salmon was dry and vinagrette a bit off. The sizzling prawns needed more flavor, I thought there'd be more kick for sure. All in all kind of lacking to me. Pricey for what it is and what you get. For the amount, I'd want more from the flavor for sure. I'd consider other places for a nice night out for sure. read more

Came here with my team at work for a lunch social and everyone enjoyed; Very greasy food though! It was a group of 8 and we made a reservation 2 days before. Got a good spot for seating at the booth along the back wall. As for the food: We ordered the grilled octopus, fried calamari, burrata and zucchini cakes to share. Calamari was really crispy, and so were the zucchini cakes. The cakes were really really oily though! I used a napkin to press out the oil and it was still too much. Really fresh though and it came with a nice sauce as well. The burrata was served with a garlicy ciabatta about a but I feel there was too much of butter on it and the garlic flavor didn't come through. It would have also been great for them to give a little more of the bread because the burrata piece was quite huge in comparison to the small bread slices. Fresh Burrata though, so plus points for that. For the entree, I asked for the Mediterranean Sea Bass. This came with spinach, pesto, pine nuts and was stopped with sweet potato shavings. I asked for extra greens instead of the tomatoes, and dressing on the side. Bonus points for making these accommodations. The fish was fresh but also very greasy! I could actually see the oil in there. Had to use that napkin to absorb it out, which majored really awkward eating in a group setting. I also took off the pesto and didn't eat the dressing because it was just too much fat with all of this oil. Dressing wasn't really needed though because the fish and greens went well together. I was really excited about the sweet potato shavings on top but those two were a bit greasy and really salty! The sweetness only subtly came through in comparison. To get some extra veggies into the meal I asked for some on the side and they gave me an order of the pan fried or grilled or something veggies (bell peppers, onions, spinach, asparagus all cooked in a TON of oil!) SO SO GREASY! And this is in spite of me asking to put very little oil. Quite a disappointment on this one. I even asked for an extra napkin just to press out all the oil here but even that was not enough. Veggies were cook through though, and seasoned well; It would just have been better if they were actually healthy like I wanted them to be for this meal. The big highlight and my favorite part of this meal was that soft warm bread they brought to the table! Actually so warm and fluffy and soft and perfect. I really wish the rest of the food wasn't as calorie dense with all the fat so I could have had extras of this bread. The others on the table got the lamb chops, duck confit fettuccine and whole branzino; They all finished all the food and seem to enjoy it. So - to preface this, know that they did refund the dish. TL,DR: They served my thirteen year old extremely spicy pasta, with no forewarning or mention of heat or spice in the menu description - despite another pasta dish having such an annotation. The evening started off slow as they were busy - we're super understanding when it comes to this sort of stuff because we're simply happy that restaurants are open. Our server, Fabio was in fact, nothing short of fantastic - very attentive, polite, friendly, efficient. We only got one pouring of water throughout the entire night, until we asked for some, because boy oh boy, did we need it. We ordered cocktails, food and wine. All of which arrived as promptly as could have given how busy the restaurant was. Appetizers were fine. Octopus crunchy and underwhelming. Pasta course comes and our daughter seemed to be oddly unenthused. We implored her to eat several times (never needed with pasta). Anyway, the pasta, to an unaccustomed kid, was unforgivably spicy and the large bite she took initially really didn't make her feel great. Both my husband and I tried it and decided that it's most definitely not an onion cream sauce. I was very disappointed in myself as I helped choose the dish however the description simply read: Penne pasta with grilled chicken breast, onions, tomatoes, Cipollini cream sauce. Weird, right? Yeah, so - we flagged down another server when we could and he said that what this was, was a Chipotle, but.. little peppers, 'Chipotle-linos' he said, and said they come in a little jar, even.. Little peppers, in a little jar.. We had no idea what to make of that, if you do, please get in touch, would love to know more. I grew up in Malta and spent considerable time all over Sicily, and Italy.. this was rather major news to me. Clever comeback, sure - marrying Chipotle and piccolino, but doesn't ring true or look true looking at photos of the exact dish on yelp. Also - said person threw Fabio under the bus, saying this is a dish that they always advise not to order for kids (Fabio was very well aware that chicken marsala was for our 6 year old and 13 year old was getting the pasta dish) because of its spice level. One would think, that they would then warn on the menu. They definitely mention spice level on the Pescatore pasta dish, (coincidentally, being a spicy tomato sauce suspiciously similar to what our kid's pasta was dressed in), so why not warn on this, apparently dangerously spicy one? Anyway - the water part is important here because man oh man did our kid need some but we couldn't at all find anyone. Her throat was super itchy and she felt a bit queasy. Our server finally came by (not his fault, he had a very big table to wait on right off to the side), and was very concerned and extremely accommodating. Offered the same dish with a 'not spicy sauce'. In any case - the restaurant is gorgeous, the patio is beautifully appointed, the service is great and the food is mostly very good (less truffle oil, and better executed octopus are my only two gripes). The lack of warning on the menu about this incredibly spicy, Chipotle-lino sauce however, is what brought me here. After all, there are people who can't stomach even a bite of spicy food or cannot have it for health reasons and if this is indeed the case, Cucina Venti is absolutely responsible and I hope they will now amend description of the sauce as spicy. Chipotle-lino. My take is this - they used the wrong sauce, and then fumbled the explanation/excuse. And hey, we all make mistakes, we're good with it, we didn't even ask for money back, and we'd be content with dinner in any case but honesty is truly the best policy. read more

They recently changed their menu and the new menu seems to cater to corporate groups and expensive add ons (100$ caviar and truffles) no more beef pastas, no more free bread (I used to love that bread) -- for lack of a better phrase: they've sold out. I used to be a regular here, coming maybe every two weeks for the beef bolognese, lasagna, the garlic bread burrata. All gone. They got rid of the best parts of the menu and increased the prices. I don't know what's up here but will not be back until they change their menu again read more

Overall, I think I'm glad to have found this restaurant to try. Starting with the atmosphere, the restaurant is very well decorated. There is an indoor seating area and also outdoor with heaters. I think it's a great place to take your SO for a date or a nice brunch out. As for food, the calamari is very tender which I recommend. However for pastas, they were very oily and saucy rather than creamy and thick which we prefer. So it all comes down to personal preference! fyi: They do walk ins and reservations. read more

The outdoor sitting atmosphere was great and is very nice setting for a date. Food is 3 stars because all our four main entrée dishes were on the salty side. The two appetizers was good. Service was great EXCEPT for the main waiter who wore a different suit than the rest of the other waiters and had a beard who seems a little rude when he laid down our plates and pour our water. Because of him I'm won't be returning. I would not recommend this place because the price to quality of the food is not worth it. If you want to try it once go for it and see how it is but it's more of "a try and oh you've been there" kind of thing. read more

I booked reservations on OpenTable for a Thursday date night. The interior is nice and perfect for a nice night out. They have outdoor seating too. Sea bass 2/5: We ordered the Seabass since we are huge fans and tend to order it whenever we see it on the menu. Unfortunately, the Seabass was overcooked and tough. I couldn't get past the texture of it. Linguine pescatore 4/5: this dish was quite enjoyable! They gave a variety of different seafood and I enjoyed the sauce too. It has the slightest kick to it. Let me start off my saying I have had the pleasure of dinning at this establishment 3 separate times over the course of a couple of years. The food is pricey, but excellent. The staff are so sweet and accommodating! The inside is super lavish and chic. Super cute for a nice date night. I imagine they get packed on Valentine's Day. The first time I was here was for an event I was helping my company with back in August of 2021. We had the back patio all to ourselves for a group of about 30 or so people. We did a pre fix menu. The servers were always on top of everything! I would go to ask and they had it already taken care of it before I could ask. The second time was in December of 2021. Where I was there personally for dinner. The food, drinks, service, were all amazing!!! Most recently, I had a team dinner here where there were 15 of us inside. Again, everything was amazing! The wait staff is absolutely incredible and are so sweet. Everything we had was fantastic! Highly recommended this place if you are looking for an upscale restaurant. Cucina Venti is on par with most upscale restaurants I've been to. I love its decor and ambience for a relaxed dinner. Food: 4/5. Slightly more overpriced than I expected. Melon & Arugula Salad: 4/5. The honey and blackberry drizzle were light and delightful atop the slightly bitter arugula. Melons were not as sweet and ripe as I would have liked. Fettuccine Pescatore: 4.5/5. Tastes like the ocean. This dish is tomatoey and spicy with a great seafood to house-made fettuccine ratio. The fish is fatty and well cooked. Service and atmosphere: 5/5. This is a great venue for a luxurious spring dinner on the the back patio. The chandeliers, landscaping, and crystal glass touches, makes this an upscale night out. It is a little pricey, but definitely a place I would visit again. Parking is a little Challenging if the lot is busy. Ahh! The lovely view of Cucina Venti in the strip mall of Mountain View! Good to be out dining sometimes, or shall I say outdoor dining while the sky got dark and breezy? My brother, his friends and I got the patio instead of indoor seating. I didn't bother asking for cocktails since they're as expensive as $10 or more. For me, I chose Twinings Earl Grey tea bag along with ceramic cup/saucer and a tea pot of hot water. I like the smell of bergamot peels through my face mask. I would like oolong better since this tea gave me warmth during the breezy night at the patio. The appetizers we chose and shared; they're wonderful! The best appetizer I like the most was the zucchini balls. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. While most of us have our respective main dishes, I had Rack of Lamb. Laid on the bed of Swiss chard followed up with fried steak potato wedges and a half lemon, this gluten free main dish is one that takes me in a front row seat! That took plenty of work to get the lamb rack off the bones. At least I like the chewy side let alone the juicy inside of the herb accented medium rare meat. Using the lemon juice made the lamb zesty and so good, but few of the meat pieces stuck on the bone. The Swiss chard I went for was old. No further comment on the potato wedges since they're just right. Matcha layered cheesecake would be our dessert to finish the dinner night. You just gotta love the familiar bitter umami flavor of matcha! On its coconut side, everything was fluffy. We had a cheesecake to celebrate a belated birthday of my brother's friend. I must admit, life was never easy when dining outdoors. I almost have tough time seeing what I'm eating. As we spend the rest of the evening, the fire from the candles were out. The warmth of the heaters was enough to keep this much warm for us diners. That's how it is when always dining outdoors during the pandemic. However, I'm already getting use to the challenge whether others like it or not. The waiter with the tattoo on his arms has done a good job taking care of us. The ambience; I say it's promising. Excellent chicken piccata: tender and flavorful chicken, well reasoned and nicely presented. Seafood paella was good too. Lots of seafood, balanced Spanish rice. Calamari was tender and chewy but not worth $20 in my opinion. Three stars for the service. When asked about water, I responded with still water (didn't specify "tap" ). $10 added to the final bill for a bottle of still water. Booked an outdoor seating and ended up with indoor. Asked for another chair to put purse on but was rejected (no extra one chair). 20% tip is automatically deducted.
