So I have kind of mixed reviews. I was with a large party and I would say that the restaurant is modern up-to-date and the service was actually excellent. I can't complain about any of that. However, I ordered the fried chicken which is supposed to be one of their specialties and I really wasn't impressed. So I probably give that a three and give the customer service a five so that's how we end up withan overall ratting of four. We did have a large party so I would say that they were very good and attentive. The food was always hot and fresh for everybody and the people in my party did enjoy many of their meals especially the shrimp fried rice. The one thing I wish I knew was don't pay for parking in the lot, once you're in the restaurant, there is a QR code for 2 hours free parking. Anyways, came here on a Tuesday evening around 6pm and was pretty dead inside. They did not have upstairs open and apparently only have it open on Fridays and Saturdays due to the other days of the week being too slow to justify to open. Other photos make that upstairs area very enjoyable, so may need to come back another day. Some other parties trickled in while we were there, but would never have been a wait. The front on the restaurant has the bar and brighter and the back is darker and was great for a date. Our waitress was very nice. Gave quite the spiel on what she liked on the menu in each category. She did forget a soda we ordered with our apps and had to remind her when she came back for entree orders. She also brought and charged for a 20oz beer when a 16oz was ordered. The pretzel bites I would not do again as they were quite large with a thick chewy crust to them. The ribs and steak were excellent! Fries were great too. We didn't make any substitutions to our order as we aren't picky people, but the table next to us sure did and they seemed to be very accommodating including substituting out coleslaw for mac n cheese and an arugula salad for a Cesar salad. Maybe try your luck if looking to change your order up a bit. Overall, had a very good experience. Omg! So I'm usually I'm not a brunch or breakfast person but I do it for the camaraderie, but I feel like I've found my new brunch spot. We ordered the popcorn shrimp and my brunch mate ordered the chicken biscuit and it was all really tasty. However, the sausage, bacon and egg pizza.... Had me floored. I had to stop myself from making noises at the table. It was sooooo good, and now whenever I go to brunch I only want this dish. This place is great! The food, the service, the ambiance! I came here for brunch on a Saturday. It was pretty empty but we had reservations. At the check in desk is where you can validate your parking. I parked closer to Food Terminal which is right down the sidewalk from CD. I ordered a biscuit, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, and I believe I had some chicken sausage. The meal was delicious and everything was hot and fresh. I came here for a work happy hour event that my job hosted and I must say that I enjoyed myself ! We met on a Thursday evening at around 5pm and it seemed to be before the dinner rush because there weren't many people there. Our group started off at the bar downstairs. The bartender was very friendly and accommodating. This is where I ordered my appetizer and a mocktail. For my appetizer, I chose the popcorn shrimp. The batter was delicious and the shrimp tasted fresh. It came at the perfect temperature. The dipping sauce was an aioli thats was perfectly salty and creamy. My mocktail was absolutely delicious! I ordered the juicy watermelon spritz. There was a nice balance between sweet, tart, and bubbly. We went to the rooftop patio for entrees where we caught a nice breeze as the sunset. Got there on a busy night, seemed like a cooperate event was going on. 45 minute wait for a table so we just sat at the bar. Waitstaff was friendly. We got the pretzels with fondue and were really happy with what we got. We were torn on what on what to order so we decided to split the meal. The lady ordered the turkey and pastrami sandwich which was starred as a crowd favorite on the menu,and the star was well deserved because the sandwich was fabulous. New York style pizza will always and forever be my favorite but this runs a very close second. It was like a personal pan pizza but bigger. The crust was thick buttery and very flavorful. Our huge party for our alumni chapter had had an amazing time at this Culinary Dropout!! When I tell you the manager Kylie, and Kendra from her team are so attentive and efficient, truly. The way they worked with our large party/rooftop rental was just a great example of how a hospitality team should be run. I used to create hospitality programs for huge restaurant chains, I've seen excellence from the top chains; today's team was simply amazing. It takes a lot for me to say that about any dining experience and the team leadership and service today certainly warranted it, and well that's just the beginning, the food tasted so good! The chicken wings and the pretzel sliders were delicious and we all raved about the squash pasta, oh my gosh it was so good!! It was also kept hot yet never allowed to dry out in the hot bar buffet set up for out group. Honestly everything tasted amazing. The food kept coming out hot and in wonderful portions. We were very pleasantly surprised at how truly great *everything* tasted even though they had to make it for such a large party. The cherry on the top was that the drinks were also amazing. TL;DR: Food for brunch was GREAT and accommodations are welcomed, but the floors are really sticky... ARRIVAL: Made a reservation for bunch on a Saturday at 11 pretty far out, but was surprised when the restaurant was completely empty except for one other larger party and 1 other couple. I checked in for our reservation and we had to wait around 2-3 mins just standing there and I'm not sure why. They confirmed my name so they definitely had the reservation but had some other issues they didn't disclose, so we were just standing there waiting after that. AMBIANCE: The space is really open with a pretty big bar near the entrance. It can have a comfortable, industrial or sexy feel to it depending where you're seated. They do have a rooftop bar, but since it was cold we didn't reserve a table in that area but I'd expect it to be on the same caliber. With the bar situated between tables and overhead tables showing the game, it could be a great spot for first date drinks. I believe there's also a smaller bar on the rooftop? MENU: The menu is a little limited if you want to stick with strictly 'brunch' items, but the menu includes the lunch offerings as well, so there's a lot of choices. I think everyone could find something they like here. DRINKS: Our table stuck with water, but I love that they have mocktails and cocktails available and I'll definitely try something the next time I go. FOOD: I ordered the smokehouse hash and it was....AMAZING. I kept looking around at my friend who also ordered it because I was expecting her to be surprised by how good it was. I was genuinely shocked by how good it was. With breakfast meats, it's very easy to get overly salty, but this wasn't at all. The potatoes were also fully cooked which is something most places don't execute well. The flavors of the entire dish combined were genuinely good. I only ate it with about 1/4th of the tortilla because I honestly forgot about it, but it went well together. The amount of food is also pretty generous. I was able to finish it all but was pretty full. One of my friends had come before and got the shaved prime rib dip and liked it so much last time she decided to get it again! CLEANLINESS: The floor was SO STICKY. From waiting near the front hostess area, to walking back, the floor was so sticky. Other than that, the seats and tables were all very clean and spotless which was much appreciated! SERVICE: When we were ordering, the server was super nice about making accommodations to fit into dietary needs. She was knowledgeable about which ingredients were in it and confident in the options and did not make anyone feel bad about requesting changes. She didn't check up on us too much but was around when we needed her. We stayed around for a while chatting and ran out of water, but I think she was expecting we'd be getting ready to leave so she didn't come back for a last refill of waters. EXPERIENCE: Overall, we came for a chill brunch and to catch up after not having gotten together as group for a while, and we were able to do that over good food and didn't feel like we were taking up space because it was a slow Saturday. PRICE: On par or even slightly less than other popular brunch spots, but totally worth it! OVERALL: Can't wait to come back and try more things as the food was just that good. A place that seems to have put more work into their concept design than their food or service. The servers had a casual dress code and all wore fanny packs, which is an interesting choice that fits the place's ambiance; though it also made it hard to distinguish staff from customers, which was a bit annoying. They also had two open front doors with only one next to a reception desk, and I got confused at where to go when I entered through the wrong door. The pork ribs' texture taste like they were fried rather than baked, having less caramelization and more straightforwardly crisp skin. I cannot wait to come back and try their dinner. I came for brunch and had an amazing experience. All of the staff are friendly and want to ensure you have a great time with them. The interior is gorgeous. It's the perfect use of an industrial space. The green velvet ties it all together, as well as the view into the kitchen. The upstairs rooftop area was more intimate but still just as nicely put together. Drinks: coffee was well balanced and presentation was super cute with its own little teacup plate. The tropical princess is a super refreshing non alcoholic drink - not too sweet and not too tart. Would definitely order both again! Food: The slicer aka chefs choice charcuterie board was the star of the show. It could have had more bread to enjoy the various accoutrements but every aspect of the board was delicious. They have the best deviled eggs I've had so far in ATL!! Incredibly creamy and served nice and chilled. The breakfast pizza was very rich - I probably wouldn't get this one again only because I am not a personal fan of this much cheese/cream but if you are a fan, you'll love it! Their biscuits are to die for - fluffy and buttery. Their fried chicken was crispy on the outside, intensely seasoned, and juicy on the inside. Their old bay gravy is definitely different - more tangy than one would expect in a gravy. I liked it so much I came back twice. My second visit to CD was great. From the time I arrived on a Tuesday evening, my party of 2 was greeted warmly and sat promptly. My first visit was just a bad day and CD has been redeemed. I 100% will be back and suggest to others. This time around I tried new food items and I needed to be rolled out. The highlight of the night were the wings. They were amazing! Full stop. Order them. I am tempted to order them on a random night as takeout. The sweet, spicy, savory, crispy wings with sliced radishes and celery bits is nothing like ive had in the city. The Fried Chicken looks like an old school KFC chicken plate from the mash potatoes to the biscuit but my gawd.. that is some of the best chicken on the westside of the city. Finally, another good hangout spot in the neighborhood! I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening for this new restaurant in the city and it did not disappoint! The space is really pretty and gives off a casual-chic neighborhood bar vibe. We ordered the Antipasti (with Hot Coppa, Aged Manchego, and the Prosciutto Deviled Eggs), the Steak Frites, and the Korean Style Ribeye Cap to eat. For cocktails we got the Paloma Spritz, El Matador, Campfire Vibes, Peaches & Rye, and the Signature Old Fashioned. For dessert we ordered the Monkey Bread and the Caramelized Banana Bar. Ok, let me tell you that EVERYTHING was delicious! The appetizers and entrées had beautiful presentation, the cocktails were garnished well and you could taste the fresh juices and ingredients. The service was attentive, helpful and enthusiastic. The restaurant is a beautiful re-do of the old Five Season's space - can't wait for the weather to allow us to linger for hours on the roof patio. The Whipped Feta and tahini dip was to die for. So good we ate 1/2 of it before we remembered to take a photo. The perfect balance of creaminess, sweetness from the caramelized squash, apples and dates, and smokiness from the grilled ciabatta! We shared the Pub Burger and they brought it to us on 2 plates, which was really nice. The flavor was sweet from the bbq sauce but salty from the bacon and the burger and fries could not have been cooked more perfectly. With a great street side location and plenty of parking, Culinary Dropout in West Midtown is an experience! We stopped in after a show at the fox and were so glad we did! We started with some apps - YUM! We had the pretzels, the wagu pigs in a blanket and the Tahini & Feta dip - FANTASTIC! The Tahini dip really surprised me, not just in appearance as the fall colors of the squash and apples covered the plate but the perfect seasoning and the grilled bread to go with...I was in heaven! After a bit we went ahead and ordered our meals - we were on the Brunch menu, so I had the banana nut bread french toast....this was some bougie French toast...and it was soooo good! The boys had wings that were recommended ... and the fried chicken & biscuit - to say that the chicken on both plates was devoured is an understatement- there wasn't even a pinch of meat I could try off the wings or a bite from the Chicken & Biscuit - it really was that good! Service was fantastic and everyone seemed to be genuinely happy to be at work and be serving guests - a plus while in the service business! Ambiance was modern and had indoor / outdoor seating and a nice bar. Great for happy hour or a bite out after a game or show. Restrooms were nice and spacious, clean and well maintained. Parking is validated for 2 hours ($10) savings! If you are in the neighborhood (GA Tech) or even if not - go give this place a try! Went for brunch while visiting Atlanta. It was one of the few places that had brunch seating availablity. What a gem! The place was huge, so lots of seating, indoor and outdoor. We initially sat on the huge upstairs outdoor deck, but the bugs drove us inside. The staff was very accommodating to change our seats. Speaking of staff.... Chirleen (I think that was her name) she was an awesome waitress! Funny, kind, knowledgeable, and courteous. She helped make this a good dining experience. Now, the food and drinks...... We had several dishes and enjoyed ALL of them. Same with our cocktails. Our food service was a little slow but apparently this place just opened. The host greeted us with such cheer and delight and our waitress carried that same cheerfulness through out our dining experience. I love the option to dine in or out, downstairs or upstairs. There is a wonderful fireplace situated outdoors and several TVs throughout the restaurant to keep up with your favorite sports team. The food is delicious and you can tell the chef really put a lot of thought into each meal. The fried chicken is a true winner. Located in West Midtown's Brickworks building, the massive space has downstairs (indoor and patio dining) and upstairs indoor and patio dining. Luckily we were able to take advantage of the phenomenal weather on a recent Saturday and enjoy the rooftop patio with amazing views. Before I get to the food let me say, the service was wonderful, and everyone was so sweet. Plus, they had live music (there's a stage for a band so I think this will be a regular thing) and the sounds were so good, many were just enjoying that with drinks. We got several apps - wings, pretzel bites with cheese sauce, brussels sprouts and popcorn shrimp. Everything was incredible and I wish I hadn't overeaten because the best was still yet to come. The four us tried four dishes - ribs, Ribeye cap, salmon and steak frites. And wow! The ribs are such a generous portion, it felt like more than a full rack - with 3 stacks of ribs. The salmon was so tender and so was the steak. I wouldn't hesitate to get any of these dishes again, but I'm definitely headed back for the Ribeye cap! I went here for a late lunch this past weekend. The entrance was a little tricky to find. Once inside, there were only a few tables occupied. The space is huge!! Bar seating on one side and a more lounge/restaurant style on the other side with a wall fireplace. There is also patio seating outside and a rooftop. Parking is minimal. There is a small paid lot. The restaurant sits in a busy corner on intersecting main streets. Food: -Whipped feta: 10/10 highly recommend!!! This was so good!!!! Creamy feta with the crunchy, sweet toppings slathered on the grilled bread was an insane bite. -Black truffle mushroom pizza: This was good but not as good as I expected. The creamy base was way too salty. So much so, I had to ask for some lemon slices to squeeze on each bite. The arugula on top was needed and made for a nice bite. -Caramelized: Delicious! The brûlée banana pieces on top were my favorite part. The custard was super creamy. Only downside was that the crust was hard, which made it difficult to get your fork through. Trey was my server a very amiable guy, who despite being busy knocking out drinks, was friendly and attentive. The dinner was very good and well balanced. Different from when I make this at home and pile in the cheese. But it was cooked perfectly and only needed a little crushed red pepper which Trey ran in the back to fetch for me. The place is very open, airy and even has some outdoor seating. The music in the bar was just loud enough to hear and still enable conversation. I was going to give this place four stars because parking is a bit annoyingly down a flight of stairs and around the corner but there is construction going on so I really can't blame them. The first of these restaurants in the southeast, apparently it originated in Arizona. Service.- Jonathan was amazing. He was very knowledgeable of everything on the menu and honest about his opinions. He stared us to a very satisfying meal. Great personality, very attentive, kudos to him. Food Dash I had the trout and my son had the state Frites (prepared Korean style-recommended by Jonathan.) both were truly amazing . The truck came with a citrusy almond marinade. That was definitely not overwhelming accompany the fish amazingly. The green beans were delicious. My Sons frites were amazing. He definitely ordered me even though mine was delicious. We also split a wedge salad, which was equally delicious. A lot of times you'll have to look for the bacon on your wedge salad. Not here. The bacon was plenty and it was more than just chips that are the size bacon chokes on a salad. . Very happy that such an amazing restaurant has come to the south east and has nestled itself in an amazing area and Atlanta. There are a number of amazing looking restaurants in this area that you could spend an entire week trying each one. Everything from coffee to Asian, pizza, etc. . Atmosphere-the atmosphere was very inviting and comfortable. The building was decorated very nicely, and had a warm, but yet industrial field. There were some locals there, so his early become popular with the locals but also a small party of girls celebrating something... I did have a drink, and it was delicious and kind of reminded me of old-school spritzer cocktails. We ordered three drinks. No food. Forty five minutes later another server comes over and asks for our drink order. We told him we ordered already and found out our drinks had been sitting at the bar for almost an hour. When I cancelled my drink, I was told they gave it away to someone else anyway lmao.
