Standard Friday evening. Not particularly busy. It's been an hour and our food still hasn't arrived. We ordered pizza and ribs. We were told the pizza is the hold-up. How does the pizza take longer than the ribs? At this point, I'm not hungry, I'm pissed off. We finally got our food and said put it "to-go." When I got home to try it, it actually was really good. We are not from the area (unexpected layover in ATL) but were looking for a solid dinner spot without being too pricey. We decided on Culinary Dropout, which looked to have just opened up in west Atlanta. We were hoping it was worth the 20+ minute Lyft ride, and from the minute we showed up we were not disappointed. The aesthetic decor and friendly staff made a good first impression - we started off the meal with a few N/A drinks (very tasty with fresh garnishes) with wings and a wedge salad to share. The wings were insanely good: from the crispy yet saucy coating, tender meat that fell off the bone, and flavor-packed sauce and dip, they were a unique take on a classic. I came thinking I was getting their burger, but once I saw the turkey pastrami I was sold - my wife got the crispy chicken katsu. These sandwiches were delicious, the turkey pastrami combined so many great things into one: a pretzel bun, smokey turkey pastrami meat, Cole slaw, so good. The chicken sandwich was crispy and juicy with solid Asian flavors, and the milk toast was the perfect vessel. Pretty good experience. The food was fantastic! The chicken was cooked perfectly, the coleslaw and mashed potatoes were fantastic, and the steak was juicy and delicious. They also have a wide range of beers on tap which is great for any beer lovers. Vibes were great with really great live music on Friday nights and the restaurant is very clean and well decorated. The only complaint we would have is that the service was pretty poor. All the staff seemed to be new, with the bar tender on the phone talking half the night, and our waiter only coming by 3 teams all night. I went today for brunch. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had a reservation for noon and got there a little early. They seated us right away. We started out with the soft pretzels and provolone fondue. The pretzels were warm and soft. Really good. The fondue was a little salty. My friend had the smoked salmon dip and she said it was really good. After I had the two eggs anyway. It's a simple dish but it was pretty good. My only complaint was it moved slow. I was there a Saturday night. Started with wings. Very good. Then had the chicken sandwich. It came out lukewarm warm. Tasted very good. My friend had pizza. It was lukewarm as well. It was not super busy, open tables. It was a little too long between being asked for drinks. And had to go to the bar to ask for a second drink. The staff was friendly. Set up was high scale sports bar, and people seemed to enjoy themselves. Lots of mature dating couples. Little too loud for my taste. Wait time was shorter than expected, which was great. Ambience was nice. Food took awhile to come out but it was good. Brought the family to this place for the first time before we went to the Aquarium (7 minutes away) and it was great! Comfortable with a twinge of fancy, it felt like a larger speakeasy with more lighting. The waitress recommended the Crispy Chicken Katsu sandwich, and I trusted her since I didn't know what Katsu was. Crispy is somehow underselling how crispy this chicken was, and the spicy miso aioli with the slaw made a sweet combination packed with flavor. We also got the Mac n cheese for my nephew, and although it may sound small, the Mac n cheese was high quality with the rotini noodles (Once you pay $10 for Kraft Mac n cheese at other restaurants, you become impressed when you see any effort whatsoever put into the kids meal Mac n cheese). My parents got the nachos, which when bought as a shared meal, comes in two giant plates. My parents were indifferent about them, but the portion size made up for it. My son and I looked at going here and he opted for a burger. The burger was good but he missed a treat. I came here for a lunch meeting and it was a great experience. We were quickly seated, parking was comped for two hours and they gave us a big booth with plenty of space to accommodate others. Great place to start! This was our first stop for lunch once we hit downtown Atlanta and it did not disappoint, we were welcomed immediately and seated in a comfy space. It wasn't too loud and the decor was Warm and welcoming , so many diverse food options we tried the whipped feta and popcorn shrimp. Nothing needs seasoning! Place was pretty empty on Sunday night. Seated at the bar by myself, asked if they could change the TV from some random sports to ESPN, it was not possible. Oh well. Chicken Pasta - per the bar keep, nothing special, greasy. Peaches & Rye - sweet mess, after one remake, I just give up. The vibe of this place is some kind of upscale darken gastropub corporate dining in LA at the same price. Being in ATL for a few days, this was the most expansive meal I had but also the most disappointing. I don't think is a tourist trip, but I am not quite sure what is the clientele for this place. To set the stage, I was part of a fairly large party (15-20) and on a not-so-busy weekday evening. The service was really, really good. They had plenty of staff all around, including behind the bar. The drinks were very thoughtfully crafted, and the servers were very attentive. The menu was nicely diversified and satisfied the various cravings and requirements for each guest. The prices were reasonable for the area, and while they don't advertise it, a nice touch was complimentary parking validation for 2 hours. Unfortunately, the food quality is simply average and despite the overwhelming attention to detail the owners must have made for aesthetics, staffing and service model the food really drives my three star rating. I had the recommended dish, which was the steak frites. Others at our table had the ribs, the vegan curry dish, the meatloaf and the prime rib sandwich. Virtually all of us were taken aback by the very high salt flavor profile in each dish. Obviously the chef is heavy handed with the salt, because we all noticed it. Also, the fries were unremarkable - and ironically not salted. They did have some very nice appetizer options, that we enjoyed. Banana bread French toast came with two pieces which was perfect for an appetizer for two people. It came with a caramel banana dipping sauce that was also covered on the bread, it had a banana type whipped cream on the side, and the whole French toast was covered with almonds. It was the right amount of crunchy, very filling, very sweet, with a little bit of a salty kick after. I would recommend you get this. The breakfast sandwich was a sandwich with scrambled egg, hash browns, guacamole, spicy mayo, and bacon. Served on the brioche bun. It came with a side of home fries. It was super good, not very filling, but filling when you have something before hand. The coffee only comes hot and is very average. Also not even on the menu. The patio is very nice & spacious and lovely especially on a 60° weather day they offer umbrellas but you do have to go for flight of stairs, so not excessively friendly if you have issues. Inside....This place has the greatest vibe and the space is so chill and inviting! Our server Roman was awesome, every recommendation he made was delicious! My family went to culinary dropout restaurant in Atlanta to celebrate Father's Day yesterday, on June 16Th 2024! What a horrible experience!!! The waiter was probably a new guy, he was completely disoriented, didn't know what to do, didn't introduce himself, left, than came back because he didn't write our first order. We ordered a steak for our 8 years old boy, but it was not edible because of the amount of salt on it, and it's very hard to chew, so, we sent it back. I got salmon, and it was burned at the edges, very overdone, and taste horrible. The waiter sent the other waiter to us, than came back and still very confused. They have no uniforms, and I noticed he was scratching his head and then touching my plates. It was a very horrible experience to celebrate the Father's Day. We were never rushed or pestered to order things faster so that we could move along.
