FPO and I had never tried Culver's before. We'd been running evening errands and it was after 8 pm so most of the places we would've gone to were closed. We'd been meaning to try Culver's for a while. The restaurant was clean, the drive-thru was doing some brisk business. The employees were friendly and helpful. The food was hot and fresh. I wanted to go back again the following day but I think pretzel bites should really be considered a treat rather than a basic food group. (Sometimes being a grown-up sucks.) I had the fish dinner and it was delicious. FPO had one of the burgers and cheese curds, which were both favorably compared to Freddy's. We will definitely be going back.

Culvers is probably my favorite fast food burger spot. I almost always go with a mushroom Swiss burger. It's always tasty and is just good comfort food. I love a good crinkle cut fry and they deliver. I did try the infamous curder burger on my last visit. It was fine. It's one of those gimmicky things that's ok once but you'd rather just have the usual going forward. I love the spicy tenders but they've been out of spicy chicken for FOREVER! I don't know what the deal is. But if they ever bring back the heat, definitely try it. They also deliver in the custard department. I love ice cream and all variations of it so I like to stock up on pints. If you go inside there's a little freezer towards the front that's filled with all sorts of flavors and combinations. They sell 4 pints for $12.99 which is a hell of a deal and much cheaper than buying a concrete.

Have visited the Metcalf Culver's location three times since my mediocre review in January. I am very pleased to report the January visit was a fluke as stated within my original review. Kudos to the staff whom have always showed professionalism, courtesy, 'true' customer service (Manager asking customers how everything is) and showing respect. On this last visit, ordered the chicken strips and mashed potatoes/chicken gravy. Hot, fresh and delicious. Will continue supporting this Mission location.

The food is great. I love cheese curds. The servers were very nice. One even did magic tricks for us! The place is very clean. Definitely will come back!

We got a salted caramel pumpkin concrete - and I have to say, they missed the mark here. You just gotta add graham crackers. It's a necessary condition to a well-rounded texture; without it, it's too smooth. Of course, you must get whipped cream on top. It was pretty good, though. A note on Culver's staff and flavor amalgamations: They're both wonderful. The staff really does a spectacular job. You can tell at each and ever Culver's you visit that it's developed in the mix. These people - more than the food, really - are just great at customer service. But the flavors! How do they do it? I don't know, but they do it almost better than any other shop - Cold Stone is nearly magic, so they win the flavor battle. But Culver's makes food too, so they win the war. Try a salted pumpkin concrete with graham crackers - and stay far away from the pumpkin shake unless you're a weirdo that likes plain pumpkin. Either way, you're making a good decision - whatever you are.

The menu is not large, but clearly what they do, they are doing very, very well. Burgers, dogs, wraps, & salads are there for the choosing along with a great lineup of local beer. They even have their own label (Hank's Lager) if you are up to sample house goodies! But speaking of house goodies, it's the burgers. The 'variations' are slim (like 2 or 3), but the El Reno (shoutout to Oklahoma) comes with those fabulous grilled onions as a supporting cast. The OG Hank's burger is not to be missed, what with the sharp American cheese & special sauce on a brioche bun. Both of those are simply hunger killers, because they taste as good as they look and they're fairly huge in portion size. The house special sauce has a little horseradish wayyyyyy in the flavor background, only noticeable if you're looking for it, and the sauce is outstanding when paired with the burg. Pro tip: get the sauce on the side and get your dunk on. Burgers come with a side and run $15, which is a price point well below the value. Ice cold beer flows on tap (buy local!) or in cans & bottles, and they even do a few wines & house-created cocktails. The airy, open layout makes it a three-season spot and the 'yard' is inviting for anyone who enjoys their eats & dranks au naturel. Wonderful service (Autumn is THE nicest) and plenty of seating - get yourself there.

I've been eating a variety of vegan cheeses for years now and not a single one compares to their homemade cheese sauce. It's always so fresh and quickly served. It's very good, but there are a couple that are better. I ordered a double cheeseburger as they prepare it. I didn't love the pickles. They were weird. Not your typical dill pickle, which I prefer. The guys working behind the counter, insisted that I use the QR code to order instead of talking to them. There was no way for me to add mustard on the website, which is what I would've preferred. I was able to do that at Cosmo Burger in Lenexa City Center when I was able to speak to a human. This location still had excellent tater tots, even though the burger was greasy and not how I preferred it to be topped. The bar that Cosmo Burger sits in is excellent! The bartender was attentive and kind. If you want a soft drink to go with your burger, you buy it at the bar and it is $3.90. I gave him a five dollar bill and left another dollar on the table when I left. I also tipped the guys at Cosmo Burger. So, it was $26 for a cheeseburger tots and a Coke. Yikes!

It was enough for two meals. Burnt Ends - I added on to the platter, and the burnt ends were fabulous! 1 Fresh Fruit- was not bad, I tossed the bananas out though, since my tummy does not agree with them too well. Other than that the berries(minus the strawberry stem) were a wonderfully refreshing compliment to the meal. This is definitely one to keep in my KC Munchies collection. If you are visiting KC, this is the spot to check out for Fabulous BBQ.
