you know me I love doing positive reviews and it's hard as I try this location. I just can't so let's start off with what I ordered chicken noodle soup, mashed potatoes and gravy because I have the flu and a Coke with light ice. I take pride in reviewing drinks and I can tell you that they do not clean their soda machines. Let's move to the mashed potatoes and very good. I understand wanting to have a functioning establishment but it is unacceptable to yell at fellow employees in front of customers. Dakota at the register is a great employee. Smiles and energy, helpful and knows his product. Ahhhh well I now see he is a manager.. makes sense. Food was good! Ok, so I came from San Diego and heard about Culver's and wanted to give it a try. Wasn't too hungry so I went for cheese curds and the frozen custard. The curds weren't cheese at all. They were salt bombs! They were terrible! And then trying to wash them down with the frozen custard did nothing to eliminate the taste of salt in my mouth. Probably affected my taste buds as the frozen custard didn't taste all that great either. I will not be coming back. This was my first time at a Culver's restaurant. First off I was impressed with the way you could order your burger with whatever toppings you want and not have to pay for what you don't want. This was my first visit to Culver's and it did not disappoint! The fish and chips were delicious and fresh. Just as good as any sit down restaurant I have been to lately. The Oreo shake my husband shared with me was delicious. I should have gotten my own! The restaurant was clean. There was not one dirty table when we looked for a place to sit. The staff were very friendly. They made sure to say thank you to us as we left the building. I appreciate little things like this as I have been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. this will be the last time I go to this Culver's on Deer Valley in Peoria. Every time I order at the drive thru and then get home my order is all messed up. They either leave food off of my order, like biscuits with dinners or coleslaw, and this time they left the mushrooms off my Swiss and mushroom burger! The hamburger I ordered with tomato didn't have that on it, and there was hardly any lettuce. The food is dry and cold, as noted by many others on Yelp. If you forget to ask for napkins, those won't be in the bag, but the fact that every time they glaring leave some main thing off the order or the disgusting sandwich is enough. He took our order in a rude fashion than after went to help an other employee who we thought to be new, and he made fun of her saying "it is simple math, kindergarten math" as she was giving change to the customer. If you know how custard differs from ice cream it may seem odd at first, but get to Culver's if you haven't tried it. They have great flavors and add ins, you can have a true milkshake or malt here as well! I've had a malt once, a little sweeter than a milkshake and I thought it was worth trying it. This place is great, the food is as freshly made as fast food gets which is why the drive thru moves at a random pace. The employees here are generally friendlier and better at customer service than other fast food places. The restaurant tends to be clean and tidy inside and out. The fish and shrimp are surprisingly good, especially since it's fast food! The pricing is a touch higher than other fast food places, but the quality is certainly above the rest. Kids meals are great and fair priced. No toys, but kids don't mind since it comes with a "free" small custard. If you're ordering kids meal at the drive thru, it can be redeemed on that order and you can get it with the kids meal, just ask to redeem it now when you order the meal. In reading through here I see a lot of reviews about missed items from the drive thru which most certainly has happened to me at all other fast food places. This is how a 5 star experience goes to 1 star. Ordered a regular burger. Added mushrooms and grilled onions. Now you pay extra for add-ons, which I dont mind. Recieve the burger, and open it to check. Add-ons were ONE FRIGGIN' MUSHROOM, AND THREE LITTLE ONION STRIPS. WTF. Look at the pic. If you look closely you can see one mushroom under the 3 onion strips. Sorry you have to squint, but that's all there is. If they had forgotten the sides, I would just ask for more. But since they went out of their way to jip me, it shows this behavior as INTENTIONAL. Are we intentionally shorting customers to save money or are we ripping off customers because that's how we were trained.? The food here is good, they are busy, and menu prices arent cheap, so why are you trying to squeeze pennies out of customers? Luckily the young man at the counter seized the opportunity to make things right and went back and got me the sides i paid for.
