Katie was extremely helpful. Being that I hadn't been to a Culver's in about 20 years, and none of my four children or my husband had ever been, we were having difficulties deciding what to get. Not only was Katie patient, she offered us a sample of the flavor of the day, made suggestions, and then brought the food to us, and checked on us periodically with a genuine smile! It was pretty decent fast food restaurant when it first open. Good quality burger, ice cream "concrete mixer". Price is not bad too. Although i mostly went there with "buy one get one" coupon which i am receiving on regular basis. But always buying more stuff. Today -completely disappointed. Ordered The Culver's Deluxe Butter Burger , french fries and 2-scoop Sundae. Fries was good- hot,crunchy but Burger !!!! Soo bad! Soggy bun, burger barely warm, cheese was not even melted on it, lettuce old. Slice of tomato and onion was fresh. But still, was not able to finish this "delux". A DELIGHTFULLY DELICIOUS SURPRISE! Having passed the restaurant almost daily, the bright blue and white exterior had never enticed me in. However, once I saw their TV ad featuring their Icelandic cod sandwich, I had to at least try it. And, boy, am I glad I did! I ordered that Icelandic cod sandwich, the fried shrimp and a vanilla shake to go: The sandwich: start with the bun, which was a soft, fresh, tasty oblong hand-sized bun, containing a bed of freshly-shredded lettuce, a dollop of tartar sauce, and...one of the BEST fish fillets ever! It is a REAL fillet, lightly battered with a slightly crispy, tempura-style crust. It is not greasy, too salty, fishy-tasting nor old. They cook each sandwich TO ORDER. In short, this puts McDonald's, Burger King's and all other fish sandwiches to shame. I'm now a big fan. The shrimp: I got the 10 piece order...a wise decision. The shrimp were hot, plump, tasty, tender, fresh and had a very light crunchy crust that was light, not heavy and as tasty as I can remember getting in any restaurant. They even enclosed two fresh lemon wedges in the pack. A nice touch. And, like the fish sandwich, the shrimp were cooked fresh...TO ORDER...not pre-cooked nor laying around for hours. The accompanying fries were the fat-cut, softer, type. Tasty and not greasy. The vanilla shake was thick, tasty and neither too sweet nor too imitation-vanilla tasting. Amazingly, even though this is basically a take-out restaurant, you can order your meal, take a seat in their bright and airy dining room and a waiter will deliver your order to you. So as Culver's goes in my opinion is the best fast food around from the deluxe, fries, curds, right to the custard. Just very fresh, flavorful, goodness. But the staff athe this location, OMG! The nicest, eager to help, polite, best people that love their job around. One guy that works there wish I could remember his name but he's there every time I go is amazing! Let me start by saying I am from Wisconsin where there is a Culver's on every corner. So it's nice having a little piece of home so close by!! We have visited Culver's several times since opening. We visited most recently on the 4th of July. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the limited time Wisconsin Pub burger. My husband and son ordered salads, my youngest her usual grilled cheese kids meal, and my teen daughter ordered her burger with her list of requests. Our food arrived quickly. Everything was hot and very fresh. The salads looked amazing. Colorful and bright. My pub burger was like what you would get at a fancy burger joint where the burgers are $10 - $12. And my daughter's burger came just how she ordered it. As it always does at Culver's. We spent a little more this night because it was a holiday. When we are trying to save money we order snack packs which run about $5 for the entree, fries, and small drink. This is always more than enough food. The kids meals come with a free scoop of custard with 1 topping. They also have email and an app where you can get coupons and deals. We are grateful to have a Culver's close by!! read more

I was excited to see that Saint Petersburg was getting a Culver's and so far I've been here 3 times, but only through the drive-thru. FOOD They have a large menu featuring items such as; custard, milkshakes, concrete mixers (think Blizzards), burgers, cheese curds, onion rings, etc. Their burgers taste almost burnt in a delicious way. They have crispy edges, much like Steak N' Shake burgers. The food is pretty delicious! I love their onion rings, but the cheese curds could be better. It's such a fun menu item, but they lack flavor and salt. The prices are pretty high. It cost my boyfriend and I $20 for 2 burgers and 3 sides, no drinks. The ice cream is the BEST. I love the concrete mixers and they offer various mix-ins to choose from. The large is called "tall" and it's HUGE, be prepared. DRIVE THRU The drive thru is always busy (probably because it's a new location) and it can get kind of crazy. You order, pay, and then receive a number to put on your car. The problem here is there can be a backup of 5-6 cars waiting on food and people are served out of order. So you could have hot food and be trapped in the Culver's drive thru....They have a separate lane to help you escape, but if there's trucks and a curb, you can't. This whole idea is poorly executed and it would really help if they just made people park or served them in order. That being said, the people that work here are pretty nice. read more

We had my grandson with us and he was super interested in the corn dog (and the internet). My husband likes hamburgers no matter what and I am the one thinking "could we have a salad?" At the counter we are made to feel we can do whatever we want. He's having a milkshake. We are having onion rings. No big deal. This Culver's has been open a week, so they may not have worked out the kinks. It is a fast-food chain, most similar to Steak-n-Shake in food and quality. They focus on burgers that are smashed, like Steak-n-Shake, and ice cream similar to Dairy Queen. Culver's has a well varied menu, including salads, fried fish, pot roast and some chicken items. For sides, one nice option uncommon in Fla. is cheese curds. I had a mushroom swiss burger with the curds. I thought the burger was good, two thin smashed patties with crusty edges (like Steak-n-Shake). My biggest complaint is the soft, squishy bun. I ordered ketchup added to mine, but it was left off. The curds are battered and deep fried bits of cheese. Overall, I'll take Culver's over McDonald's, Burger King or Wendy's, comparable to Steak-n-Shake but with better sides. The ice cream is comparable to Dairy Queen, with their own version of Blizzards. Service is better than most fast food joints, too. read more

SUMMARY: The people are very nice, but the food is average and expensive, and service is a bit slow. Been here twice now, and I was excited with all the hype, but somewhat disappointed by the actual experience. The first time, we tried the burger, a chicken sandwich, the cheese curds, a milkshake, and a "concrete mixer" (aka Blizzard at DQ). The burgers are typical, not quite as tasty as the Wendy's next door. The cheese curds are meh, not very flavorful or interesting, quite bland actually. The milkshakes are nice- Culver's soft ice cream is better than the totally fake stuff at other fast food places. But the many many combinations, add-ins, and upcharges, are confusing, and the bill was pretty darn high for a couple of sandwiches, curds, and a shake and a Blizzard, about $25. The food took a while to prepare. Second trip, I tried the codfish dinner, and needed to get a 2nd mortgage. For about $16, I got basically soggy fish-and-chips, cole slaw, and a medium root beer float. (I started thinking I could have got a nice dinner at Applebees for that price.) It took forever, well, at least 12 minutes of me standing around, and the food sat on the kitchen delivery counter for a good 3-4 minutes before they noticed it and bagged it up. The plastic lid on the plate has no vent, so by the time I got home, the fish and fries were totally limp. Their pre-packaged tartar sauce is terrible, but the cole slaw was good. The root beer float was disappointing- it would work better with stronger root beer and hard ice cream. All in all, at these prices, food that's less than scrumptious, and somewhat slow fast food, I may not be back soon. The remodeled Wendy's next door has perfectly adequate burgers and other sandwiches, served faster, at lower prices, and fewer confusing options. Hamburgers were invented at Louis Lunch in New Haven but St Pete is rapidly becoming a burger mecca. Culver's is late to the show and attempting to compete in tough, crowded field of established burger perfectionists. While better than most, Culvers is in the Shake n' Steak category with a bigger, better menu. For the same price I would recommend Red Robin, Burger Monger or El Cap in that order. For a few dollars more you'll find the burgers to beat at Engine #9, the Hanger (downtown airport) or the Locale Market at St Pete Sundial. read more

The only reason for four stars and not five is because of the lack of stocking. There were no napkins, and upon being told by four separate people, there were still no napkins put out. If napkins had been given on the trays perhaps this could have been over looked, but everyone had to go stand in line again, food at the table, to get napkins. This is just crazy as there were many employees just standing around while a select few ran their tails off. With this said, for the ones running around, getting it done, bravo! You're kindness and warmth was amazing. The food; I got a butter burger cheese with fries. Delicious, fresh, juicy! I literally can't say a single bad thing about the food here. Overall I give 4.5 stars, though that's not an option. I am just now leaving, and the woman who has been running every order to the tables, taking every counter order, and running every drive through order outside as everyone else watches- just filled up the napkins. I love Culver's! I am telling you their menu is next level. Much more than just burgers and custard. They serve up fish dinners with a wide range of sides (including vegetables), a handful of soups, cheese curds, and the staff is curtious and attentive. I am a huge fan, my mom friends are huge fans, and our kids love it too!!! There is something on the menu for everyone.
