Cuppa is in a pretty nice and friendly neighborhood. At first glance it's not just a boba place, but also a fro-yo stop and mini kitchen with hella Asian snacks (I'm coming back for you, musubis [but no popcorn chicken da fuq?]). I got the coconut island milk tea 75% sweetness because I saw the drink was blue and I needed this moment of aesthetique in my life. Note: they charge an extra $0.50 for using a debit card so BRING CASH. The drink isn't too bad at all if you like coconut. At 75% it's pretty solid. 100% would have you reeling I feel. The size is also decent, I wish they had a smaller and cheaper size option but if you're intent on boba this is perfectly fine. The space is incredibly spacious so no worries there. Bring your friends too cause they have board games. Woo! Overall, it's nice a place to hang and convenient in the neighborhood and the worker is super nice but the boba price and the kinda let down of the coconut island milk tea gives this place an average rating. I was very intrigued by the coconut island drink so i had to go try it out. This spot is pretty spacious and also has a froyo section. The drink was alright tbh. I got regular sweet and it was kind of bland but then again I have a really big sweet-tooth. I asked the cashier if I didn't like the drink would I be able to get another one and he said no. That shows to me that this place doesn't care about customer satisfaction. My sister got froyo and it was alright too. I bit a stale mochi and was not very pleased. Was really excited to try this place but ended up being disappointed. I ordered a tiny cup of yogurt for $9 and boba for $6.50. The toppings on the froyo are stale and taste weird. Their "all toppings and ingredients are fresh" is a lie. Their boba drinks are overpriced and watered down. My taro milk tea tasted like watered down toothpaste and was half full with ice. The froyo itself tastes very artificial and overly sweet with no real flavors. Save some money and don't come here. read more

We have been in the areas long enough to see this location change hand 3-4 times. None of them seemed to stick, but maybe Cuppa will. They are still doing the combo froyo/boba thing. So the tea and boba are fine. Not great, but fine. I do love me some popping boba which they have. Spam masubi is decent. All is a bit expensive, but the area demands it. Decent if you have literally no other options in a city full of milk tea bars. Low variety of drinks, usually favoring aesthetic appearance over flavor, exacerbated by their choice to use flimsy plastic lids instead of the industry standard heat seal. Snacks are overwhelmingly sickeningly sweet, even savory offerings. Offer gatchapon and a UFO Catcher, the former poorly labeled so you have no real idea what kind of plastic knickknack they expect you to spend a dollar on, the latter being mostly no-brand cheap plush. Public bathroom is locked with a PIN code but still manages to be poorly maintained, while the internet access they rely on to run their registers cuts out often enough that they have a formal sign to put up apologizing that they can only accept cash. They could be so much better with just a little planning, market research, and thought. read more

This review is specifically for their froyo Don't. It's way overpriced. I get frozen yogurt every Sunday, so I've been to a good amount of places around the city. I usually spend around $7-8, and that is including my boyfriend's froyo also. Over here, we spent about $17 together. That did include a drink but that's still really expensive. The tea was about $4 so our froyo was about $13. Nearly double the price. I'll admit that this is a pretty cool place to just chill in, I might come back for their tea or something but I will definitely get froyo somewhere else. read more

San Francisco has become a hub for unique boba shops that all hold some sort of defining characteristic. Cuppa stands out from the rest because of their authentic approach to Boba. From using the highest quality ingredients and skillfully crafting original as well as classic drinks Cuppa is slowly but surely making a name for itself. As for the environment, I find it cute that its located in a part of Glen Park that is starting to mirror noe valley with its community orientated vibe. Many people have left negative comments about Cuppa for one reason or another BUT if I may say so myself it's ok to take those reviews in to consideration but don't fully make up your mind about this small Boba/Snack shop before you give it a swirl. I had a latte craving at 8:30pm and no coffee shop was open near me. A picture on yelp showed that they also had a "hot drinks" menu and I got excited when I saw that they also serve latte. The place is a 10 minute walk from my home so I called them to make my latte while I get there. The gentleman who answered the phone and made my latte was very courteous and did a great job with the actual latte. I got the house tea with soy milk, but the second time, the drink was straight nasty. It was watery and we threw the drinks in the garbage before we even left the store. This review is for their drinks. I usually get the cold milk teas and the bf hot milk tea. The drinks originally aren't very sweet. So I usually get 100% sweet versus the 50-75% from other places. The people working behind the register are very nice as well. The drinks are pretty good for what you can get and don't want to drive out of your neighborhood just to get a boba fix. If you get the fried chicken. Don't expect it to taste like your regular asian popcorn chicken either. So I would make a pass on this. Other than that I have no complaints. Came here yesterday, 1st of all, an adventure in itself. Traffic on 101 North from the airport was fine until the former spot of Candlestick Park, and my lane was stopped. Normal order is 3 good size pieces for $7.50 Comes down to $6. if you want 2 only. I would put a little less rice because the proportion of rice to crab meat wasn't even. But it was still good. Think of Sushi Bake and it's basically the same thing. Lots of kids showed up since it was after school, and I heard there's 2 schools around the area anyway. Atmosphere is cool... lots of places to sit, games to play and if boba drinks aren't your thing, or you rather have something else other than musubi, they have other snacks plus froyo with a big topping bar if you prefer...
