Had this once in Hawaii and wasnt overly impressed as it was very banan-y But seen it opened here on 24th st so decided to try it out as my sister was raving about it. And she wasnt wrong- its so good, more of a fro-yo vibe with the taste of banana not as overpowering, and plenty of yummy toppings to tickle the tastebuds. I got the coco bomb and wowwweeee it was good, I added strawberries for an extra fruity sweet kick and it was perfect. Also the smaller size is pretty big! Omg this place was so amazing! I made two separate trips just to get this taste of goodness again! The flavor is so fresh and the fruit was also very fresh. I got the banana soft serve with extra bananas and cara cara oranges. It was amazing and a healthier alternative to all the ice cream I've been eating. I've been looking forward to trying this place for months. Finally went with a couple friends and it was a disappointment for all of us. Chunkadelic 3/5: it's good, but not great and definitely not amazing. This is the first time I've had macadamia nut butter. Not smooth and creamy like other nut butters. Maybe I got the bottom of the barrel, but there was no oil mixed into it, so it was super dry. It didn't contribute any noticeable flavor. The overall dessert was alright, but forgettable. Small beach açaí bowl: 2/5. I love açaí but their base is below average in taste. Also for the price, they're hella stingy with the amount they give. Didnt fill the already tiny 8oz bowl up with açaí. Not satisfying. For better açaí, try sidewalk juice. Strawberry banana smoothie: 3/5 it's what you would expect, nothing special Barely any seating inside so we couldn't sit down to eat either. But it's sf, so I'm not surprised. As I was walking down the street, I was thinking, if I had the choice to go to easy breezy fro-yo or here, I'd choose the fro-yo solely based on taste. I'm not sure if it's because of the type of the banana they use, its ripeness when it gets used, the amount in the recipe, or some other reason (and/or all of the above), but the banan has just the right sweetness to it. Plus, it doesn't have any added sugars in it (all of it comes from the bananas), which is even more impressive! Considering the relative lack of options for dessert in Noe Valley, Banan's pick of SF neighborhoods to expand into was a solid one.
