New menu November 25. Some great new choices! They also switched from a limited lunch menu and this is now the all day menu.

I have stayed over 40 nights this year at the Renaissance and lots of times I just want to settle in after a long day and grab a meal at the hotel. Very satisfied with the new menu! The staff are like my extended family now from the great breakfast crew to the bartenders and dinner crew! The overall layout is broken up to give a more intimate feel overall.

Hidden in the Renaissance Hotel is a gem. Ordered the mushroom and cheese flatbread, crispy lemon pepper wings, and the Mediterranean ahi tuna salad. MIND BLOWN-- this is not your typical hotel pub/restaurant where food is generally forgetful before fleeing to your next destination. The vibe was welcoming, homely even. The flatbread is layered with flavors: red wine pears and roasted mushrooms drizzled with a white truffle cheddar sauce. The ahi tuna is coriander seared, arranged beautifully balanced with herbed feta cheese, Campari tomatoes, and crisp greens. The surprise? All this sits atop a creamy Cabernet wine vinaigrette These unsuspecting details reflect great chefs and great kitchens, where their form of hospitality is communicated thru delicious food. It was heard. Thank you for a great meal, Chef Bert

I mean can you practically see the freezer burn on my halibut?! I didn't really dwell on it, but it certainly wasn't high or even medium quality by any means. The service was very attentive though, and I enjoyed my me time with the puppers. I'm madly in love with the fact that they were so dog friendly. And I always appreciate a coastal inspired decor, even if it's subpar. If you're staying at the Renaissance Newport Beach, it's going to be your only sit down restaurant option (how I ended up here). If you're not staying at the hotel, then you need not go out of your way to come here.

TLDR; food was meh, ambiance was a bit cold, and there was a hair in my dessert but they comped it. Service was excellent. FYI: I was there on Thanksgiving. This restaurant is really convenient in that it is inside the Marriott Renaissance. The restaurant itself has nice decor, but the open-concept of it (i.e. many walls are actually ropes and you can see the hallways of the hotel) makes the ambiance a bit cold. The halibut was unfortunately overcooked, the ribeye was thin and a bit over-charred, and the prime rib had a fairly thick brown band. We had the pumpkin tart that came with ginger snap ice cream/cookie, but we found a hair on the tart after taking a spoonful (my hair isn't that long). They had it comped and got us a new one which is nice. The service was excellent; there was only one person (Zachery I believe) and he was able to manage all tables himself quite well. He's the only reason why I gave this place 3 stars instead of 2. Thank you! Note that I dined here during Thanksgiving, so there may be external factors affecting the quality.

I have stayed here for over a week and ate at Current Coastal Cuisine every single day, sometimes multiple times in one day! The food, drinks and customer service was just that good! I have tried many dishes but I'd have to say my favorite is the grilled chicken Cobb salad and the vegan burger. Can't wait to stay here again when I am in the Newport Beach area, but I would just stop by for the food!

Perfect bites to go with your favorite drinks. Friendly service, full bar. Worth stopping by even if you are not staying at Renaissance.

Did the Newport burger and it was so so. The beef has so much fat that it soaked through the brioche bun and made it a soggy mess. The beef also had no flavor whatsoever. Fries were good though..

Inside the Renaissance this comfortable restaurant has lots of seating and a friendly staff. I ordered the Short Rib Birria Tacos and the Street Corn, which I aptly put a small smattering of inside each of the three tacos and BAM!! They were amazing with the consommė dip served on the side. So so good!! The Tacos came with chips and a nice medium salsa. I really enjoyed this Southwest meal! YUM!

This is a very cool little bar at the Renaissance Hotel which used to be the Fairmont. I had a really delicious gluten-free cheese free pizza with mushrooms and shrimp. The locals hang out at the bar and it's super fun. The wait staff is amazing and engaging! Is it worth staying here just for the bar

This is the restaurant inside Renaissance Newport Beach Hotel. I had looked at their menu online prior to ordering and already knew exactly what I wanted- the macaroni and cheese skillet. They had plenty of more 'adult' options that I'm sure would have been amazing, but I'm a sucker for mac and cheese and couldn't say no when I saw they use manchego cheese, which is one of my top three favorite cheeses. The meal was delicious; nice and creamy and rich, but with the right amount of crunch from the herb crumbs. It's considered a side dish but it was definitely big enough to be an entire meal for me. That- with my glass of lemonade- was one of the better meals I've eaten in quite some time.

Super impressed. A little context: a conference away from home and Current Coastal Cuisine is the restaurant of our hotel. A special night as my boy is turning 15 so where to go but the ground floor restaurant after a day walking up and down the beautiful coastline. We were looked after by Toni who is just what I look for efficient, present but not overwhelming, polite and caring yet not gooey or OTT. The food was lush, I thought it might be good but not only was I not disappointed, i was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of each product on our plates, the fine tasting delicate food and the just right level of salt and pepper. We started with the lobster beignets as we were reading the menu. They laid on buttery light (I know right?!) sauce and dust of Parmesan. We also had a flat bread to share and the truffle oil was just right. My son had the fillet of beef medium rare and I had the scallops. I am always nervous when I order my favorite sea food as it is a challenge to cook right ie caramelised sides and tender core. I am so happy that I was able to share such a meal with my foodie 15 year old. What a way to train his palate.

Specifically, the 'Build your Own' option set up with swiss cheese and mushrooms and an egg. It's a cracking (excuse the unshelled pun) good lunch by any standard, and now I'm traveling less I still drop by Floe occasionally to partake and reminisce over lunch. I still recommend the above burger highly, but temporarily I've changed my menu choice. Their friendly bartender and server recently upsold me to their current special burger instead... and it's even better. The Beso Burger, created by a chef whose name I don't recall but who apparently is TV-famous, is the reason this review is getting written when normally I wouldn't take the time for this kind of location. Put simply, it's a must-try. It comes as a whole plate, with fries and a milkshake designed specifically for dipping them in. The whole thing is beautifully put together, and everything complements everything else. It's an experience. Word to the wise: After trying both the single and the double burger, my pick is the single. Better balance across the meal, and the second slab of meat makes the burger gigantic and tougher to eat without a knife and fork - which in itself would be wrong and ruin the experience. The bottom of my bun held fine on the single but disintegrated before I could finish devouring the double, and my afternoon food lethargy was definitely amplified by the latter too. Productivity... not so good. The location is exactly what you'd expect from a hotel bar, with nice lighting, plenty of seating and 3hr parking validation when you stop by for food so there's no rush to eat except your own work schedule. I did notice it was a bit hot inside on a recent visit... maybe their AC was broken. Don't sleep on this burger, I think they said it's only available through September...

I was lucky enough to stumble across this gem of the center of OC when they first opened - and I am proud to be a regular here. I don't know how to go somewhere else - because I feel like the staff are giant gems in this jewel of a spot. Winters is a curator of boozy information that has helped me learn about "gin" and "root beer whiskey" so I can sound like an adult-ish purveyor, when really I know close to nothing except being a willing student to his creations. Dan the Man and Jacob always see me raise my hand in the corner of the bar, like the student I am, and have been willing to fill in the blanks for me when I know I am of thirst, but do not have the words for what to order. Every person working in the well has treated me with kindness - they have taken the time to get to know me, and I will be forever appreciative of how they have taken care of me over the years. But the real joy has been the transformation that this spot has for building a community of people in Santa Ana for real recognizing real. I have been bringing my Dad with me to play pool for the past few years. Sometimes people ask me if he plays professionally, I am terrible, and my skill incline is slow, he is patient and plays with the same level craftiness that the staff offer the cocktails. My Dad is always stoked when we have time to go have a few hours of games at 616 - especially now that there are regulars on 4th street that are excited to see that he is there playing - and they rush to write their names on the chalkboard to challenge him - or beat him in a game they really earned the W. On lazy Sundays, I watch couples sit with their drink, listening to Jazz, and watching my Dad whoop my ass while making amazing shots. I am forever grateful to Memo who sometimes takes a break from his shift behind the bar to give my dad an actual challenge - which allows me the chance to watch my Dad enjoy fellowship around the table. Knowing the table was a relic of the bars former self, and knowing the history that this spot has in Santa Ana is a reminder that so much around us can change - but it is those moments of the crack of the rack, the cheer of getting the combo shot, and the shake of hands when it's over that shows that it's not just about the pool table - but about the energy of a place that is welcoming and curated by people who care about what they do - and care about who comes through their doors. Thank you Jason and Mike B to bringing this to 4th St and supporting the community that was already here - and for building a community for the future. Thank you to Christina and Brandon for always having amazing pictures, decor, and fun events at 616 that help introduce new folks into this great spot. Time is short. Learn about Root Beer Whiskey.
