    Grilled jerk whole Wings

Date Night!! He picked a great spot! The oxtails were delicious, full of flavor, and tender! The wings had a great smoked taste, and the dry jerk seasonings were just right. However, the Bob Marley was a super sweet frozen margarita with little alcohol, and the Rum punch wasn't punching much! The food was 10/10, and the drinks were 6/10. We should have stuck to our regular cocktails of choice. We will return. Our sever helpful with the menu!

Pretty solid. Had a "beef patty", some yellow rice, and some jerk wings. Great flavors across the board.

I ordered takeout and waited at the bar for my meal. Notes: Flavorful. My meal served as two meals, had some for later. They weren't stingy with the oxtails. I was greeted by a friendly hostess and I appreciated her attentiveness. One thing I didn't take a picture of was the oxtail patty. I had that until my To-Go order was ready. 10/10 Juicy and tender.

This might be the number 1 Carib restaurant in Memphis. Reasonably priced meals for the amount of food given compared to others. Their flavor has been consistent since I began dining there. Food: amazing, their curry chicken and rice and bean was unusually a bit too salty on this trip but overall still comforting. Service: swift and friendly Ambiance: casual and family friendly Only challenge is parking. There's a parking garage across the street for valet parking $15. Street parking is usually difficult to find.

Memphis TN, in the house! My Hometown has exceeded expectations! The upper level has a 15 person full service bar. The lower level has a 1p person full service bar and sometimes hosts local entertainment. Parking garage is across the street with paid meters on the street. Let me get to the purpose of the post --- FOOD! The Caribbean food is outstanding. The Ox tails, curry chix and goat are some of the best I've had. Peas and rice, cabbage and plantains topped off the meal. They also have a spicy hot sauce the put sweat beads on my forehead! The price is $$$, but we'll worth the cost.

Wow! I was traveling through Memphis from Seattle, and Yelp didn't disappoint again! I rolled up to Curry n Jerk around 9pm and grabbed the best dinner I've had in quite some time. I ordered the Panamanian pasta with shrimp and chicken, and it was dope! For tyou old timers, "dope" means GREAT! I also had great service from Landon at the bar and all of the staff were super-friendly and attentive. Chef Mike even came to my table, asked how everything was, and explained the layers of cookies it takes to create such a wonderful dish. I'll be back!

Y'all. Curry n Jerk was SO GOOD. Believe the hype. My personal favorite was the goat. It was my first try and it was so flavorful. All of the meat was tender and the portion sizes were quite large! Service was fast and the vibes were chill for a Saturday evening. I'll be back!

Our waitress Theresa was very pleasant and she made me the best Moscow Mule..had me thinking she put pineapple juice in it but the flavor was on point. I had the curry and jerk chicken with cabbage and rice..

Horrible! The food didn't match the picture. The service took and hour. And the atmosphere was loud with the party happening downstairs. But this wasn't the worse of it! They steal from you by charging a mandatory 20% tip charge for dining in and a 15% charge for carry out. Server didn't inform us of this charge. If she did, we wouldn't have ate there. Now did she deserve the 20% gratuity. No. She did not. She should've told us there was a charge for dining in. That's my tip! (Oh and if you're wondering, party size doesn't matter. You are charge even if you come alone). About the food: the rice was not fried as in the restaurants photo. It was more like a mushy rice. The flavors didn't impress me. It had the usual Caribbean taste of spices, herbs, and jerk seasoning. It was a bit salty. And because the rice was too soft it failed at being the jerk fried rice it was meant to be. Had to order something else (which the server expressed she didn't like). Now you know!

Sunrise Memphis did not disappoint. We stopped in around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and didn't experience any crowds or much of a lunch rush. That being said, after eating here, I completely understand why people mention waiting hours on weekends. The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order, grab a number, and seat yourself. I appreciated that they offer both breakfast and lunch all day because it meant we didn't have to choose between the two. I ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave in the middle of a long road trip. Kyler ordered the Kitchen Sink, which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and a biscuit. He asked if he could swap the cheesy grits and biscuit for biscuits and gravy, and they ended up bringing him everything anyway! It was a massive meal, but absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also loved the fun, eclectic atmosphere. The colorful Memphis touches throughout the restaurant gave it so much personality, and there was even a bar area that made me think this would be an absolute blast for brunch with friends. Sunrise Memphis ended up being one of our favorite surprises of the entire drive. If you're passing through town, do yourself a favor and stop here.

A step inside at the same time the counter guy hollered back to let the cooks know a graduation was about to begin so "expect to be busy soon" confirmed that fact! This place is quirky with its decor but on point with the food. Get the bacon! Always get the bacon! I'm still dreaming about it! Be warned! We were told during busy times, the line stretches around the building for a steady 8hrs at a time! May the timing of your visit ever be in your favor!

I had a fantastic espresso martini and the best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted! So I was excited to come try something else. On the plus side, the bathroom was so nicely decorated. It was also very clean. I sat at the end of the bar, beside the little section of books. The bartender was nice. I ordered the Ember&Passion cocktail. Although it was pretty good, it was quite mild. Unexpected with the ingredients in it. I was surprised that the level of expected heat was not very detectable. I give it 7/10. When I came here before in the winter, the temperature was perfect and I don't remember being too bothered that they don't have cocktail napkins. But yesterday it was quite warm in the restaurant and not having these napkins wasn't good. Nobody in the restaurant had any type of napkin under any drink! I noticed that just like mine, every glass of water from every patron had a puddle of condensation under the glass. Each time I picked up my glass of water, it would drip onto my food and clothes. My two menus got so wet. I suppose they made this decision to save themselves a lot of money. As for the food: My parmesan truffle fries were excellent!! Hot, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the middle. Best I've had in a long time. The Alabama white sauce on the side was just your typical sauce. It tasted just like every other Alabama white sauce that I've had so was not disappointing. But I actually ended up not using it because it was too thin and it didn't add anything to the fries. The fries were excellent enough on their own. I ordered my burger "pink" but there wasn't any pink to it, but I wasn't that bothered about it. Burger and the toppings were tasty, except for the fried green tomato. Looking closely at the picture, you can see that it was SO SMALL compared to the size of the burger. When a restaurant does that, don't they realize that it makes for a glaring disappointment?! It apparently came from near the end of the tomato, and not the middle. If you are going to offer a fried green tomato on a burger, then I feel as if you should only use the larger slices of the tomato, and save the smaller ends for maybe putting in salads. I've always been obsessed with fried green tomatoes. After having my first two bites of burger and still not reaching the tomato, I took it off to eat by itself. Sadly, it tasted terrible! I was surprised. Obviously, they didn't season the tomato or the batter. (Salt and pepper go a long way.) The burger toppings apparently made the tomato batter not only soggy, but also this strange thick texture. Like mushy and chewy at the same time. 1/10 Worst problem: FLIES!!! So many flies! When I just had my drink but no food yet, I noticed them but was not bombarded by them at that point. It wasn't until my food came. All of a sudden I was literally surrounded by them. They were everywhere! No exaggeration. I actually had to use only one hand to eat and the other hand to constantly move back and forth over my food. I eventually gave up and set the plate of some of my fries about 4 inches in front of my burger in order to hopefully draw the flies to the fries so that I could eat my burger. Unfortunately, after only four bites of my burger, when I set it down to take a drink of water, a fly landed on it within one second. Obviously, that was my last bite, and even when I was moving the plate closer to the end of the counter, two more flies landed on it. The glass of straws was inches from me. That, and the book closest to me seemed to be where they gathered to wait for their opportunity to dive bomb me. So many of them! It turned my stomach when I realized that I had been drinking from a straw with my water and I'm sure there had been flies on it before I got there. Every person that gets a straw in their drink at this restaurant has had a fly sitting on top of it. When the bartender told me about the desserts, it turned my stomach to think of just how many flies were in the kitchen. Had I known the fly situation was that bad when I first got my drink, I would have never stayed there, and I certainly would have never ordered food. I do think it is a real shame because the winter months are a totally different experience in that restaurant. But because of how horrible it was this time, I just can't ever come back.

I ordered the Juniper Benedict and my friend ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy. The bacon potatoes were cooked perfectly, soft and slightly crunchy with plenty of cheese and bacon. The eggs in my eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and they used a regular house-made biscuit that soaked up the egg yolks perfectly. The restaurant was pretty big, but the ambiance felt like a small-town diner. The staff was super kind and attentive, too. The cost is par for the course for a nice diner in a big city. The food however was honestly meh (in my opinion). I got a creole dish and to be fair my dish looked beautiful. The plating was 10/10 but the taste for me left something to be desired. After eating this dish I questioned if I even like creole sauce because it really just wasn't that good. If this is a preference issue, I honestly don't know. I also thought the charcuterie appetizer had a weird mix of items on it from club crackers, to meat and cheese, and random veggies. Not bad but just kind of a weird mix. My husband ordered the salmon and he said it was good, not the best he's had but it was good. Other friends of ours got the white fish among the many other dishes. I did have a salad with these apples on it which was incredibly yummy. I will say though my dish looked amazing some of the other dishes were not plated well. Not to nitpick but to want to be considered a more upscale restaurant which means charging guest more money than say a local Applebee's then knowing how to appropriately garnish or drizzle sauce to elevate at plate is important (see my picture of the chicken dish). All and all not my favorite restaurant but definitely not the worst!!
