After being a customer for many years, and pouring hundreds if not thousands of dollars on all my Tire Rack installs, on 3 of my cars, Allan has disappointed me in a massive way, and it's still ongoing. I dropped off my wife's Honda Accord for a 4 tire install, and when she got the car back, the TPMS (low tire pressure sensor) light went on. Allan explained that the sensor may be old since the car is 6 years old and that he'll look into it. My wife drove the car and noticed that there is a vibration from the front at speeds of 40MPH and 70MPH. We used to have a vibration at 70 MPH while accelerating, but this time -- it was more pronounced. We brought the car back, and upon inspection that the balancing was correct -- Allan said that the CV joints are worn out and need to be replaced. His quote was higher than other local shops that I trust, but I decided to leave the car with him, because I've trusted him and the shop, throughout my experience with them. Today, when I called, he said that the car "is done" but that the ABS and steering lights are on. We've argued for about 15 minutes about the fact that I've never seen these warnings lights come on, through the life of the car, and he claimed that we brought the car with those lights on and that they were cleared in the past by someone else. That was 1000% false since the only things that have been done to the car have been oil changes by the same mechanic that I trust, for 6 years. So at this point: They still have my car I've lost trust that in their ability to do the necessary repairs to bring the car back into safety. He wants me to pay for him to replace some computers on the car, and he's not owning up to the fact that his mechanics either broke the sensors, or the computer, or that they don't know how to reset the system after the repair was done. We'll see where this goes, and if Allan and the mgmt at Custom Alignment understand that the damage that can be done to their 35-year reputation will be tarnished because bad reviews on Yelp, Facebook, the BBB, etc.. will cause compounding negative loss of business. I can't believe that I need to go through this and that a long time reputable shop is this argumentative and doesn't want to own up to the fact that they broke something and that they need to fix it, at their own expense. Will keep everyone posted, here, and on social media, of the latest. UPDATE: There is a happy ending to the story. The team at Custom Alignment ended up doing the right thing, and the car is perfect. They apologized, found the issue, fixed it, and delivered the car and it's running beautifully. They also followed up a couple of times to make sure that everything is OK, and really tried to do right by me, which I absolutely appreciate. They won me back as a customer. I'm also changing the stars back from 1, to 4. I felt that a 5 would be unfair since it WAS a stressful situation for a few days, but the quality of their work was high and it ended working out, so I'll move the rating from 1 to 4. read more

Check your mileage before and after servicing your vehicle here. When I got my (performance) car back, it had 8 miles on it and was driving in limp mode. I understand that techs need to do a road test for the alignment, but 8 miles is more than enough especially on my weekend car where I keep my miles low on purpose. Add in the fact that the car was on limp when I got it back and it seems like one or some of their techs drove it extra hard during the testing. I didn't have a dash cam at the time of service, but now I do and I won't be going back. I went to custom because of the rave reviews even with the higher than average prices, but I don't think it was worth it in the end. read more

Having problems with my car constantly pulling to the right, I thought I might try taking it to the specialists and found custom alignment on yelp. I could see right away if you have an exotic car or have a lot of money to burn this is the place to go as they cater to the high end clients. One of the co-owners Joe Silva gave me a ride to work. But like most places they will not pick you up. So I had to bum a ride from a co worker to get back in time to pay and pick up my car. For my wagon this place was over kill. They found the problem was with the tires as they were just rotated that caused the pull to the right. They adjusted everything they could. I think for my car I should have gone to Wheel Works for $80. So if you have a Lambo, Ferrari, or Porsche, and a lot of money to burn this place is for you. read more

Wheel Balancing, I also want to add they make things up that you will need a "Road Force Measurement" an extra $10 each tires not mentioned on the quote, that's really sleazy way of doing business. Wheel Alignment at $130 front and $130 rear. Well i could have save time and money elsewhere cause the car is veering to the left still, that's before and after. I presume the 5-stars reviews were referring to them being nice people which are true. High price and imperfections of service will not bring me back, I prefer a on time visit, 2/3 times is a total insult. read more

Sadly I have to look for another wheel alignment shop. I have used Custom for over ten years on 5 cars with no issues until this year (mid 2016) Since Dave left the telephone service has deteriorated to the point that twice I failed to get return calls, they were busy with someone on another line one time and another time messages left were never returned. I never had a problem with Customs work, its the lack of telephone service that drives me to go elsewhere. read more

Did a good job on my Audi, I was recommended this shop as the best alignment shop by work's car club.. They identified things that were important and warned me of them, which I appreciated. The negative points hence the lower rating and my experiences with the shop: Was rather pricey for what I was told were pretty minor adjustments. But I understand it's all the same effort involved, so that's OK with me. The owner? (older gentleman) was pretty impatient with me, seemed pissed off, burned out, and did not seem to show too much interest in what I wanted (I was trying to be very polite and patient). I gave them a specific ride height setting, they call back and tell me they set it slightly different than what I asked for, I emailed and called them back multiple times to try to tell them to set it to what I originally asked, and ask them how they think it'll look and if that's the right setting to go with and mostly got a run-around answer (sure we'll adjust just that one side, it's gonna be what it's gonna be, etc.). Go to pick up the car after worrying and hoping it turned out OK, and see that the work order says the ride height is set a whole 1" higher than what I asked, the same guy argues with me that it's what I had asked for, that he can't do anything about it. I had called/emailed/told them the right setting to use. Even still he was very hard pressed to get out a measuring tape and show me that it was set correctly, but he did reluctantly after yelling to his tech to double-check (it was). All in all, for the price paid I hoped they would have taken better care of me, not sure if will use again or take chances somewhere else. read more

I had my 66 Mustang for an alignment after I rebuild the front suspension and made a drum to disc brake conversion. Great communication and great work. They pointed out two things I should fix on the brakes I made wrong without charging me. Of course they can also fix this, but they knew I want to do it on my own. If you have a car that has any type of alloy wheels you want to save from scratches and dings when changing tires, Dave, Joe, and Stefan (did I miss anyone?)@ Custom Alignment are the ONLY ones you can trust. I've had my rims dinged and scratched by other big-name national tire and wheel chain stores. I must admit I am also somewhat of a sportscar fanatic. The chain store people simply dont have the skills and experience to mount and balance tires on large diameter alloys. Also there is the issue of alterior motive, the chain stores try to sell, sell, and upsell, a simple patchable leak would easily turn into replacing all 4 tires. Not so with the folks @ Custom Alignment, they run a sincere and honest business to help you out. Just make sure you call ahead to make an appointment cos they are quite busy especially in the summer due to the club-races and concourses. Still dont believe me? Next time you get your package deal from the national chains, take them to custom alignment for just a rebalance. You will feel the difference how the car handles and rides. read more

I needed both a 4-wheel alignment on my Land Rover as well as new tires. I love the fact that I could go to tirerack.com, research the exact tires that will fit my SUV (it's an odd size) and have good reviews, then have them delivered to Custom Alignment for installation. Makes it a lot easier than trying to sign for the tires at home and lug them all the way down there for an install. They did all of the work in 3.5 hours and thencalled me to say it was ready. The car drove straight again and everything was taken care of as expected. Their prices are also reasonable. I'll be coming here again. read more

These guys are as good as it gets when it comes to suspensions and alignments. I've been coming to them for the better part of a decade but most recently brought in my Lexus as it had a steering shake/shimmy that nobody seemed to be able to solve. Over the course of two years I spent a fortune swapping tires, bushings, road force balancing, etc etc etc. Custom Alignment solved the problem and once again made me love the car. I've been coming to this shop since 1999/2000 if that says anything about this shop. This is hands down the best alignment shop I have ever been to and I have been to my share of shops that pretend to make adjustments on your car and ask you to pay for putting a car on a rack only to tell your car is not adjustable. Now don't confuse high quality and cheap. You get what you pay for and I have no problem paying these guys what they charge since they know what they are doing. The average alignment shop has an expensive machine that pretty much no one knows how to use or understands any of the spec'd measurements. The avg tech at an indy shop knows they can twist a tie-rod to reflect an update on the computer screen and that is about it. In reality, the avg tech has zero understanding of what they just did or how it impacts and affects real world driving. Just because the number matches the computers spec'd default doesn't mean the car will drive straight! I have had horrible experiences like this in the past at numerous local large tire suppler shops. Custom Alignment gives you the most comprehensive alignment print out I have ever seen. If you ask about the figures on the paper they will be able to answer any of the questions and I'm sure after looking at that sheet you'll have questions. I asked the tech to show me an issue they found on a brand new tire which made contact with some debris on highway 17. The tech was ready to go home, since it was the end of the day, but said no problem and no questions asked. The tech took the time to show me everything and where the issue was on the tire they pulled off. I should also mention they don't sell tires but the main guy I worked with (I think Dave) went above and beyond and sourced a tire from a local shop so I could have the car back on the same day. Excellent customer service! By far one of the best service auto experiences to date period. read more

Awesome. I have been taking vehicles here for years. They know what they are doing and deliver on time. You can buy your tires online from Tire Rack, and they will drop ship directly to Custom Alignment. Not only does it save you money, but it saves you hauling tires around. Tires are one of the top safety concerns / features for car, particularly if you drive something sporty. It may not be the cheapest place, but it's worth a little extra to have a place you can trust not only with quality work but also with your car. They take care not to damage expensive wheels. One cool piece of equipment they have allows them to place the weights behind your wheel spokes when balancing tires. So you don't see the ugly weights blighting your expensive alloys. They are good supporters of the local car clubs. Hosting the occasional tech event. read more

Went to them for a tire problem. Had a bad skid episode in a non-ABS based car, and my tire had developed a flat patch making it horrible and impossible to ride. Joe (who I believe owns the place) heard me out for all of 30 seconds and correctly diagnosed the problem. We went outside to take a look. He told me that he had a shaving machine but with the amount of tread left he'd not recommend a shave and would recommend changing tires. He was honest enough to tell me to go back to WheelWorks and get 2 (front) tires to replace the shaved ones, but also said he would recommend I change all 4. I then asked if he offered tires and he said he does, but he doesn't sell cheap ones (the one on my car currently were from previous owner and were not good quality). He then showed me prices from Michelin and Uniroyal. I went with Uniroyal (a Michelin company) and he managed to source the tires and install them as well within 4 hours. I went at 7:30 AM and was done by 12. This was without an appointment. He was also kind enough to suggest an alignment check with Firestone (I have their life time service) and also told me the depth left in my brake pads for my information. All in all an extremely honest and excellent experience. read more

I have been taking my cars and trucks to Custom Alignment for as long as I can remember and I live about 40 miles away. As many others have said they are the only ones in the area that can competently inspect a car's suspension and tires/wheels and tell you what is wrong, and usually fix the issue, when the dealerships or other businesses can't. I had a truck (Dodge Ram shortbed w/Hemi, Sport packageand IES shocks) which pulled slightly to the left. I was told after a couple of visits to a dealer that it was within spec. and nothing was wrong. I took it to CA and it stopped pulling in about an hour. I don't think they just set it "within the factory specs", they made it work. I had America's Tire put on a new set of wheels and tires on an Mazda MPV (nothing exotic). They told me they had the latest equipment and I paid the extra for the road force balance since the installation and basic balance was free. By the way, that free balance is the most expensive balance you can get. That car then develpoed a mild pull and the tires would not stay balanced for more than a few weeks. It made me nuts and I went back to the original shop a coupe of times (it was like the tires were slipping on the wheel and lost their balance). I took it to CA and they fixed the balancing issue for good and then said that some tires can introduce a slight pull (forget the name of the condition) but it didn't matter because the pull basically went away after that and through several rotations. I will never go back to that original shop. Buyer beware, there are a lot of shops and dealers that tell you they are experts at working on you car's suspension and tires/wheels. Just stop and spend some time watching what they are like when at the other shops. Some of these guys have been trained to work some of these pieces of equipment is a few hours and then you are their customer. At Cutom Alignment this is all that they do. They are specialists. They will not rebuild your transmission or smog certify your car, They specialize in the part of the car that I feel the most, that is where the car meets the road through it's wheels and suspension. All I can say is that as long as I care about my cars I will be going to Custom Alignment. read more

Not only did they accurately balance the tires (significantly better than other shops), they also looked into a "nagging" air leak I was experiencing on one of the rear tires. I've been going here for a while, taking various vehicles in for alignment and tire work and have always been pleased with the quality of work and professionalism displayed. Recently I ran over a rather large screw which of course resulted in a flat. Luckily I had a real spare and not some doughnut, but of course I didn't want to run on the spare for long. I called Custom Alignment on Monday morning, explained my situation and asked if the tire was repairable. They told me to bring it in and they would take a look. Honestly I wasn't sure, as the screw was somewhat close to the sidewall. When I arrived Joe went outside with me and took a look at the tire. He told me it looked patch-able, but he wanted to take the tire off the rim to get a better look. He immediately took the tire off, came back outside and told me it was definitely fixable. I thought great, I can get this patched and on the car by the afternoon. What happened next is why I will continue to always bring my car here for alignment and tire work. Joe offered to patch the tire immediately, get it mounted and on my way. This was a huge time-saver for me and I gladly accepted the offer! Very good shop and the owner and service rep are very good to work with and friendly to work with. I use my car both as a daily driver and on the track, so I needed them to make sure my the brakes were working well. I also wanted to get steel braided lines and dot4 fluid installed. They tried to install the parts I supplied them but turns out I was sold the wrong parts. So they ordered the correct parts and installed them the next day. Joe also went out of his way to drop me off and also pick me up at the train station when the car was finished. The cost is a little more than I typically pay, but with this level of service it was worth every penny! If you are looking for a brake, alignment, or suspension experts, don't look any further. read more

I will admit it took some time to get an appt but Dave (one of the partners) was able to finally squeeze me in today- while I waited. These guys are super busy but they know their stuff. After visiting their website and reading the reviews on tirerack.com, I was convinced this was the place for me. FYI, you can order your tires from tirerack and have them shipped to Custom Alignment...so convenient. On tirerack, they have 430 customer reviews and are 5 star rated! That's unbelievable. I was in the aftermarket automotive business for a decade. I'm very familiar on how proper shops are run. If you take pride in your wheels, and your car for that matter, Custom Alignment is a no-brainer. It took me almost three years to find the wheels that Custom Alignment installed tires on for me. The wheels are out of production and I had them freshly refinished. They are irreplaceable. The end result: No marks of any kind, fair pricing, precision balancing, and a new customer for life. I brought in my Porsche Cayman S and they fixed all of the issues I was having. My steering wheel wasn't pointing straight and the brand new rear tires that the dealer had just installed were wearing unevenly. They fixed all of my issues and took the time to go over all the changes that they were going to make. We talked about how I was going to use the car and set the car up exactly as I wanted it. The work was done while I waited. I also got a thank you card after a couple of days. I will be coming back here for my tire mounting, balancing and alignment needs in future. The only possible downside is that they are more expensive than generic wheel places. I am very much willing to pay for quality work and I feel that's what I get here. read more

Very nice people. Unfortunately that's about all the skill there. Brought my car in.m for an alignment. They said an alignment isn't worth it because it needs five thousand dollars of repair. I also asked for a simple tire rotation. They wouldn't because of the quality of my tires. Yes, I know my front tires are in bad shape, that's why I want them in the back so I'm not jumping all over the road. Tried to swindle me into buying a whole new suspension setup and axles. For the record my axles are brand new. They said they were leaking. When I looked at them there was a stab hole. Definitely not coming back ever. They can put their illegal tactics where the sun don't shine. read more

These guys are true masters of their craft! The crew at Custom Alignment are professional in how they treat their customers and in how they perform their work. Tire truing/shaving seems to be a lost art and this specialty shop does it at an expert level. I had some tire damage to my Subaru on a near new set of tires. The AWD system on Subaru's can be picky about matching tire treads/patters and the dealership will often pressure customers to buy 4 new tires when one is damaged beyond repair. Custom Alignment was able to order me a 1 new tire and shave/true it to better than Subaru specs to match the existing tires, saving me several hundred dollars and prematurely wasting 3 good tires. I will definitely be back for future tire and alignment needs, this place should be on the radar for all Subaru and Audi owners. read more

Another mechanic told me I had to replace my tires, but the gentleman I spoke with over the phone to me the number of issues that could be going on since I recently had my tires rotated, and told me I might want to wait to see if the problem corrects itself. I was giving our Acura to a daughter in Denver and after replacing shocks and springs we wanted an alignment that would be properly done. When I brought the car in the tech found an alignment issue with the rubber cushion at the top of the tower. Alan explained the issue and offered alternatives to correct the problem. Bottom line, with their assistance the misalignment of the cushion was corrected and the 4 wheel alignment was completed. The car was driven to Denver with NO issues and we very much recommend this business and especially appreciate Alan' s involement. read more

This place used to be excellent. Super. But now it's just an overpriced shop with long wait for appointments for warranty work. They have done an alignment for me - indeed improved handling of my MBZ - S500. The balance - they have done twice and still can't do it right. This incident reminded me why I stopped going to them. My problems with them started about three years ago when they couldn't do good balance. They tried several times and never have done it well. And, they were delaying warranty appointments and I have decided never to go to them again. Instead, I moved my business to America's Tires on El Camino and 237. America's Tires is a low cost, kind of a "fast food" place, as supposed to "high end restaurant". They are basically what you expect from a "fast food" place. They don't do super job. They often screw up. But they try to fix it, and often manage to improve the the work they originally have done. And, you don't have to wait for one week for an appointment for warranty work. This time, after three years of complicated relationships with America's Tires, after they couldn't balance tires they sold twice, I decided to give Custom Alignment another chance. Alex at the counter promised to "take care of me". Now I need to go there for the third time, but I probably can't. I can't as I can't plan one week ahead of time every time I need to do re-balance AND leave a car for most of the day. I just have many other priorities. So - I'm on a market for another "high end" place. So - my advice: If you don't have expensive and/or sport car - go to a "fast food" place, like America's Tires. If you do have expensive and/or sport car - find another place, as this one is no longer is as good as it used to be. Not even close. read more

But.. when your told one price over the phone get ready for another price by the time you arrive!.. kinda irritating if ya no what i mean! .. And then things keep changing yikes.. Don't keep raising the price ! i really like there work but I'm gonna half to search else where i cant afford them wish i could cause they do great work but WOW!!.. There shop is nice and the people seem nice i mean they tell you everything there going to do and of course when they have your car what are you going to do tell them no stop i mean you don't have a choice its got to get done and they are already there working on it!
