Dr. Tran was amazing. She really took the time to explain my eyes and my eye sight. The differences of my eyes, what to-do, what not to-do. She even worked the front desk. Lol. As far as the optician goes, I wasn't very pleased. At first he didn't seem interested in me, as if I'm not willing to spend any money on glasses. Once I got his attention that I wanted to buy a pair of $300+ Oakleys, he gave me the time of day. I ordered a pair of women's Oakleys from a catalog. The sunglasses were for sports. Because I was ordering from a catalog, I asked a lot of questions, including me wanting two pairs of lenses. I asked over 5 times when we talked about the sunglasses, that I wanted two pairs of lenses, one prescription, and one non-prescription, I even included that I need both pairs to be polarized. The optician kept assuring me that I would receive both. Two weeks later, when I picked them up, I only received one pair of lenses (prescription), and the optician didn't even want to talk to me. So the front desk lady had to call Oakley and ask what happened, and I was informed that the particular pair I ordered don't include regular lenses because they're so new. So now I'm out $200+ because what the optician told me was incorrect. I would've gladly picked something else if I was informed this information during the time of sale, or afterwards when he placed my order for the sunglasses and two lenses (which he didn't do). I highly resommend seeing Dr. Tran, but if you're looking for anything particularly special as far as corrective glasses, I would recommend taking your prescription somewhere else. read more

Run don't walk to this incredible establishment. The owner treats you like family and just when I didn't think it could get any better I met Dr. Van Tran when I need an eye exam and I've been a patient ever since. When I had a medical problem with my eye Dr. Tran handled it effortlessly. I love her chair side manner, she's awesome and so is the owner, David who clearly has a passion for optometry. The type of care I received reminded me of when I was growing up in Brooklyn. Back in the day, people cared and made sure you were completely satisfied and when you left they knew you'd be back soon and would tell your friends. Their wonderful selection of eye glasses for men, women and kids ranges from mid price to top designers like Versace. But I noticed that the styles they have... My favorite eye center out of many in Las Vegas. Dr. Tran is amazing and very patient. I spent way too long asking her questions and she patiently answered all of them. She actually lowered my prescription from what the other two eye centers had prescribed me and I now have less headaches. This eye center is not as busy as say a lenscrafters on eastern ave, so I prefer going here. The store is clean and easy find. Have been coming here, and only here, since I first moved to Vegas 5 years ago. This place has great customer service and a great optometrist (Dr. Tran). She is very thorough and friendly and is willing to spend extra time with customers. She spent a lot of extra time with me after the company stopped making my colored contacts to try and find something that I liked instead, allowing me to try on many different pairs of contacts before picking one I liked. I can't speak to the glasses side of the business as I have never purchased glasses from them. It is usually pretty easy to get an appointment here, and they have late and some weekend hours which makes it great for the 9-5 workers. Strongly recommend this optometrist! read more

I had an emergency today with my existing glasses and had previously had a great experience with my children being seen and outfitted here. So I called and was able to be seen by the doctor within 30 minutes. First, she graciously fixed my glasses without even being asked!! How awesome is that! Dr Tran then took me in and gave me my exam and answered all my questions about progressive bi-focals versus just getting reading glasses. After asking me questions on how I use my glasses and what I was more comfortable doing, she recommended getting 2 separate types of glasses and conducted my exam knowing thats what I was going to do and writing the prescription to fit the different style of lenses. She also took the time to explain the different techniques for examining the back of my eye, full dialation vs having an electronic exam. I chose the electronic exam and was actually able to see a picture of my retinas. The best part of that is that I didn't have to have drops and blurry vision for a few hours. I was a very happy camper after that portion of my visit and was scared for the next portion, purchasing new frames and lenses. The young lady who assisted me was very courteous and answered my questions regarding the different frames available. She then gave me a detailed explanation of the costs associated with the lenses and the different options available. I was able to order my "readers" and they had my prescription in stock, so I will have my 1st pair of glasses today! The overall experience from walking in the door until I was done was very pleasant. I will return here for all of my families needs for as long as they are in business. read more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. I am new to the area saw all of the great reviews and decided to give them a try. The eye exam was not through, ended up with the same prescription I had previously though my vision was not clear. I told the eye doctor that my eyes blur over with the brand she had me try and yes I had continuous eye problems through the trial. To top it off I went to get new lenses in my glasses, gave them my frames and case and they lost my case. I ended up buying my old brand of contact lenses at the same perscription online because they were cheeper. I have worn contacts for over 10 years and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had! read more

I am so impressed with this facility. In from the east coast and having severe eye dryness. Doctor took one look at me, listened to my symptoms and immediately said I needed antibiotics and steroid drops. Wrote a prescription and gave me the name of some lubricant drops to buy in between the prescriptions. When I asked how much was the bill I was told there was "no charge"! They took me last minute even though they are booked. They were all so nice! I was with Lens Crafters for 3 years but the waiting time even though you have appointments takes more than 30mins and it is more expensive so I'm glad I found Custom Eyes! I highly recommend going to see Dr Van Tran for eye exams! She was very helpful and she saved me so much time and stress. She helped me figure out that my fatigue was coming from glasses that were too strong so she lowered my prescription and she was right! I feel so much better. Got the eye exam and paid extra for the contact lens prescription. Was given some contact lens to try. I rarely wear contacts which I told the Dr. The lens weren't as comfortable as I liked. Went back a little more than six months later, as it took a while to try the lens a lot because I rarely wear them. I was told there would be a "fitting fee" to try another brand. TALK ABOUT BAIT AND SWITCH, because it had been longer than six months. I've been wearing contacts since they were invented and never been charged a fitting fee. As a matter of fact, other eye doctors let you come back to try different brands, and have even written my prescription with several brands listed on the script. THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THERE IS A SIX MONTH DEADLINE AHEAD OF TIME. Their response should have been "Oh, because no one informed you that after six months you have to pay for a refitting on your one year prescription, we will waive the fitting fee." Typical, shameful "nickel and dime'ing you to death." I've spent a lot of money at this place since I moved to Vegas two years in a row, but no more. I don't do business with shysters, and you shouldn't either. Beware. read more
