I decided to spruce up the bathroom in my almost-thirty-year-old house. The glass shower door is still in great shape overall, but some of the minor hardware pieces were showing their age. I was surprised to find a label inside the door track which, in over twenty years, I had not noticed: CustomLine Shower in Lake Oswego. And I was pleasantly surprised to find that the same company is still in business. I e-mailed a few pictures. They responded within hours offering options to replace my worn-out hardware. Some of those parts had to be custom-made. But I picked them up the next day. Everything fit perfectly. And these few improvements helped my overall project. It's not often you find a company that's been in business this long. But I can see why this one has. The people were friendly and helpful... oh, and knowledgeable and skilled too. UPDATE: A couple of days later, the shower wall and door were installed--for which I had asked the salesman to be present, but he did not show up. As soon as the installers left, I went into the bathroom to look at their work. I noticed immediately that theys hadn't installed the side trim pieces, hard vinyl strips that help close the gaps above, between, and below the two hinges that hold the door to the tile wall. I called the salesman, he called the installers, and they came back and installed the strips. After I had waited longer than the required 24 hours for the sealant to cure, I started using the shower again. After each shower, I had to mop up large puddles outside on the bathroom floor. I called the salesman, who agreed to come back out to the house to diagnose the problem. Once there, he told me that the bottom "sweep" (a vinyl strip that's supposed to fill the gap between the bottom of the glass door and the tile ledge) was too long and that the installers had trimmed part of it off, but that the remaining part still got twisted. He said the point of the "twist" was probably where the water was getting out and that replacing the door was the correct solution. He also suggested that the tile ledge might not be sloped into the shower, suggesting that it looked like it might even be sloped toward the bathroom instead. I checked with my own two levels, after he left--the tile ledge is sloped correctly, so that water should run back into the shower. Almost two weeks later, the installers were back with the new door and bottom sweep. I asked them about the leak, and one of them said, "Well, as I'm sure your salesman told you, you can never get a complete seal with a frameless door"; the salesman had never mentioned that. There was no sealant to let cure, this time, so I used the shower later that day. Again, there was a large puddle outside the door after every shower. I examined the gap between the replacement door and the tile ledge and saw immediately that the gap was not filled by the vinyl "sweep." Water would run down the inside of the door, hit the tile ledge, and build up more quickly than the inward slope of the ledge could handle, so water would simply run out onto the bathroom floor. No matter how careful I was to contort myself to keep water from hitting the inside of the shower door, I'd still get as much as several fluid ounces of water, sometimes soaking the bath mat, outside the door. Fed up with dealing with Customline, I measured the gap and went on the Internet to find possible solutions. I found a company who manufactured several styles of soft vinyl strip that might fill the gap between the door and the ledge, but I'd have to affix them to the tile ledge closing the space between the ledge and the bottom of the hard vinyl "sweep." The manufacturer sold only in bulk and only to retailers; after more searching, I found a retailer that was willing to sell me only one of each of the three kinds of strips that looked like they might work. I have purchased those, they've been delivered, and I will try them in the next few days. Thanks for nothing, Customline. If Yelp would let me give you zero stars, that would be my rating. read more

I would not recommend this company for any shower glass surrounds. Poor customer service, poor follow up. It took them 3 attempts to measure the job correctly, finally finishing the job on the 4th visit. They do not know how to call you and give you fair notice as to when even a tentative Install date is, you need to call them to get that done. This is all after they take a 75% deposit to lock in you Install. Go Somewhere Else...You will be glad you did. read more

The salesman was punctual for the appointment and gave us an estimate within a couple days as expected. The shower door arrived on schedule. There was a slight problem with the glass, but they were quick to assure me it would be corrected. I recommend them for the realistic timeline and for promptly assuring me they would prioritize safety first and replace the glass panel. read more

I would not recommend this company. I would have given a 0 score if possible. Unprofessional and very poor customer service. I tried to sort this out amicably reaching out to them more than once to see how we could resolve the matter but with no luck. I had ordered a few bathroom accessories and glass based on the recommendation from my builder and when I found that they did not have the Tower bar for the size I wanted, I asked them to cancel only the order for my accessories. Customline unilaterally decided to cancel the whole order which included the installation of the glass. Further more, they said that I would have to pay for Tower Rings (from Moen) since it was already shipped to them and there was no cancellation or refund for that ($156 loss for me) - custom order according to them. Not sure how a Towel ring from Moen is a customer order? I called their sales rep (Mark) and he would not take or even return my calls. Chelsea their customer service rep was also very rude and not helpful. She said she would have Mark call me who never did. My emails were also not answered. They invoiced me for the glass and the accessories in June'21 and I finally received the glass and accessories today, 8 months later. Also the glass was incorrectly measured. Not sure how somebody can get measurements wrong for a simple glass cabinet. Stay away from this company - unprofessional and absolutely poor customer service!! read more

Customline Shower installed a semi-frameless shower with our new tub and tile work and it looks great. Their team was very friendly, the estimator, installers and Lori in the office. The custom glass was ready on time based on the estimator's timeline. The installers were in and out of the house in about an hour. 24 hours later we were using the shower and it looked and functioned great. Poor quality installation. The shower door was not aligned with the side panel, they did not fill the holes left by the old shower door, and the seal on the bottom of the shower door prevented it from swinging properly, it stuck. The installers left with this poor quality installation. Had to have the company come back to do it right. Would not do business with Customline again, and would not recommend them to anyone else. read more

Horrific experience with Customline. Poor initial installation, don't stand by their product, poor customer service, poor follow-through. Shower door shattered without contact 2 years after install, cut my wife down her back. When I called they insisted I had hit the door. The salesman told me a manager would call me back. Nobody called for 3 days. After paying again, they told me install was out "a long time". Still don't know when they are coming to install. I've paid twice, have no shower door and a wife with a cut back. Would not recommend to anyone. Please go anywhere else. read more

I had accident on Friday afternoon and fell into my frameless shower door, hurt my head but was happy I didn't crack the door .On Saturday when I went to shower I couldn't open the door. I called Customline first thing Monday morning and explained my problem. A serviceman was in my area at noon and came by and fixed my problem. I highly recommend this company as my problem was fixed efficiently today and they did a great job of installing my shower doors and mirrors several years ago. read more

Horrible customer service, they really don't care once they've gotten you to buy something. Open from 8-5 as it says on their machine, when I called to see if they had a part they said "Yeah, we're open but heading to lunch so will be closed till 12:30." It was 11:45am. So.....not even open during their hours of operation. Don't even bother to call if you have an issue, they'll just hang up on you when they don't want to hear about their shitty products they insist will work and claim "It's not our fault, they're only custom to our custom products. read more

Custom provided a sliding glass tub/shower door and a glass panel in a another shower. They did a great job at the shower fitting the top bar around the wall tome on each end. The 3/8" glass panel set in to a wall track and a floor track looks great. We love the diamond seal finish on both doors to protect against eventual soap scum. We did have a problem 18 months after installation with the glass panel partially separating from the wall track. The estimator came out to look at the problem and sent a technical crew out a week later to reset the glass panel. We opted for a 1/8" deeper floor tract to better secure the glass. I am giving these guys such a low rating, due to the fact that their customer service is non-existent. Literally, one of the worst companies I have had to deal with, ever. No sorry, no thank you for your business, no effort to compensate for my troubles. They broke our doors the first time around and had to redo them. Our contractor was basically done with the house, the shower doors were the last thing to go in, he asked them to call us and let us know what was going on. Nothing. I finally called them, spoke with the receptionist, Rebeccah. When I asked about the doors she said she didn't know anything. Then when I told her I heard they were broken, she says, 'yep', so you just lied to me then. No sorry, no real response. I said, this is pretty inconvenient. She doesn't seem to care. She wouldn't give me an answer of when they might be ready. I asked her to call me, she told me she would call my contractor, and maybe she would call me, too. I finally spoke with a mgr., who wasn't much more helpful. We had a privacy band put in. They screwed up on that order, so when they finally brought the doors the band was half the size. I call Sheila, and tell her, and she tries to say it was my mistake, again, no apology, no feeling of them taking any responsibility. I tell her I'm looking at the quote and it says exactly the measurements. Again, no apology. Then they call us 1.5wks later, which we thought they had put a rush job on the doors at this point. They say, we want to make a sugg. for the doors. it took you guys this long to give us an alternative, are you kidding me?! They drop off this black and white sketch of a poss drawing of some alternative so they don't have to waste the material. Seriously?! if you are trying to change someone's mind and have done this sort of thing before, then at least give them a full color picture of another job that was similar, and don't wait a freaking week and a half. Finally, very frustrated with the whole thing, we ask them in our kindest manner to just do what we asked for, since we had no idea how their suggestion would look. AFter almost 10wks later(of course they didn't actually promise any sort of time they would deliver them because they don't do that) they finally delivered them, but failed to install the hand towel holder, again, now for the 3rd time that they have come. Oh, it wasn't on our list of things to do. When I specifically had that corrected with the mgr., who seemed to have this other quote, that no one else but she had seen, told me that it was only for 3. I would never use this company again, the doors are great, but the ridiculousness of their customer service and their complete disdain for anyone else involved in the process, truly makes them a very awful company. I wish that I had read the reviews on this company before having them install a glass surround shower door. When the doors were originally installed in our brand new bathroom, I happened to be painting the ceiling and noticed that there were 2 holes in my new tile that were filled with some kind of grout. Apparently the installers place the surround in the wrong location and had to move it over about 2 inches. They never told me that they had drilled 2 holes in my new tile. Called the salesman up to come and look at the installation. He came out said that he would contact contractor to come out remove damaged tile and install new tile. Never heard from him again. Called Customline to come out and remove the surround so that we could take out the damaged tile and put new tile back in. Hired my own contractor to do it and sent bill to Customline. Then they had to come back out to reinstall surround. Trying to schedule that with them was a nightmare. read more

so. I am a contractor in the area and have used this company many times. They just can't seem to get a product installed with out a glitch. Some times they are small sometimes they are big. The salesman write one line bid proposal with no detail on hardware. They just don't care. It is astounding but true. I have tried and tried and tried to ask for specific hardware pictures and product lists and detailed specs with price breakdowns ,but just a yawn or worse yet don't know get back to you and well you know... They have installed probably 8-10 projects and all have left me with a feeling of anger growing slowly to outrage and, and now utter contempt for most of their personel. These guys, if its simple may get it right. However if you have a custom detail or a problem arises they go brain dead. Their name custom shower co is an OXYMORAN they do nothing that takes any effort, I mean nothing. Best advice would be to ignore this company and find one who can give us all what we need. customer service. I usually avoid reviews that are too passionate in a negative or positive vein, however I have given these guys every chance to redeem themselves. I didn't do a good job in vetting a contractor for my DYI bath remodel, I let price govern and that was a big mistake. The guy that took measurements had to visit three times to get enough information for this outfit to get the glass fabricated. As scheduled, they showed up to do the install and quickly discovered that the measurements were incorrect. One of the panes had to be re-manufactured. OK, about 10 days later they came back to do the install the second time. This time the installers discovered that metal channels were not cut correct. Back to the shop again. To the installers credit, they did return the following morning with the correct pieces and finished the install. Several hours later I received a call asking for immediate payment for the balance. I expressed my issues with the installation problems and was told "those things happen", No credit for the inconvenience.
