Terrible management by Donnie. They have a elderly team member handling a long line at the front. The Elderly staff member who was helping both the line and people at the self check out. He called for any manager to help and no one came. I timed it and it took 17 mins for the manager to come. This Elderly staff member is doing a great job keeping up with the long line of more than 7 people including myself. Donnie finally came out, when the staff member pages a final time for someone waiting for an interview. Poor management. read more

The automated phone system said they had no record of the prescription even being there, finally after an hour of calling and trying to talk to someone was told that it was filled and ready. This CVS location does not send out text reminders for prescriptions to pick up like the Oceanside Blvd. location. I called about two prescriptions a few days ago and was told that one particular prescription could not be picked up until August 3rd. When I went to pick it up both, the assistant rang up only one of them and didn't follow up on the other. I inquired about it and learned out the f'n pharmacy never filled it so I now am in the store waiting around for it to be filled. No professionalism and no conscientiousness. I love my mobile vet service. My dogs love them. I just moved. Cvs is right down the road and I just switched my personal needs to them including using the minute clinic for road rash. My beloved friend Zelda a canine was just diagnosed with a tumor and cancer. One of her symptoms are nose bleeds. My vet sent the script for her meds for treatment to cvs, confirmed correct address by the pharmacist just a 1/2 hour ago, cvs called me, that's right called me, to tell me it was ready, and when I got there they couldn't find it. I'm at home holding my friend with a napkin to her nose empty handed. I don't get it. Cvs called me. The vet confirmed. The pharmacist listened to the message and confirmed the address was correct. So where is her medication? There are no words to describe how awful this is. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever used. Every prescription renewal takes 3-4 phone calls from me, 3-4 phone calls from my doctor. And yet when we call back, they claim never to have heard from any of us (and yes, we're calling the right CVS). When they finally get the message that they're supposed to be providing life-saving drugs, I go to pick them up only to discover it's the wrong medication or the wrong amount. I'm not sure if they are critically understaffed or just hire from the bottom of the barrel, but this place is TERRIFYING. I tried switching pharmacies, but since CVS bought Aetna they can force us to use them. If CVS/Aetna doesn't get it together, some pharmacist is going to end up in prison for manslaughter. HIRE MORE STAFF! SCREEN THEM! Pay them enough that you don't have to hire the worst of the worst. We aren't customers, we're PATIENTS. Our lives are in your hands. And to those of you who are the underpaid, overworked staff, please try to remember that we matter, no matter how busy you are. We know you're angry about your jobs. If I could leave zero stars I would. This by all means is the worse pharmacy. I have seen this pharmacy going downhill for a long time. That have 20 dollar items locked up which i totally understand. But when you have to stand and press a button for someone to come and open up the lock for 20 mins that unacceptable. Also they have self checkout so they have the person that is working the one checkout helping all the customers that have no clue how to checkout by themselves. She is also running around to open up all the locked stuff. Don't even get me started on the actual pharmacy. You stand in line forever and when you have to call the pharmacy I was literally on hold for 30 min. I actually called back and hit the line for doctors office and they don't answer that either. Then I went to get my vaccine and after checking in they forgot I was there and I waited 30 min before just leaving because they put me at the back of the line because they messed up. Absolutely a hot mess all the way around. When I finally got someone on the phone on the pharmacy because I called the front and asked them to answer the phone in the pharmacy the guy was completely rude. I am transferring all my prescriptions and will never step foot in there. read more

Ridiculous customer service. The prescription for my son with an ear infection was called in 3 hours ago (left voicemail). I got here and waited in the "pick up" window line for 15 minutes. The lady tried to tell me that they didn't have a prescription under that name. I then remembered and told them that it should have been voicemail. The lady says "oh, we haven't checked those in a while". Ya no kidding. You haven't checked it in over 3 hours. I was then sent over to the "consultation" window and waited another 15 minutes in that line. When I finally got to talk to the pharmacist (Indian lady with an accent) I was told that it would take another half hour for them to fill the prescription because she needed to "verify" it. I gave her a puzzled look and said "half an hour?". She then looked at me and said "ya, I'm the only pharmacist here and there's a line". If you had just done your job and "verified" it when the voicemail came in 3 hours ago, I wouldn't be sitting here right now waiting another half hour with my sick crying son. Hire more staff or don't stay open for 24 hours if you can't handle the business that comes in. read more

I have been coming here for a little over a year and since then Staffs here are ALWAYS RUDE.. Seth and one lady (sorry I forgot the name--- will update) are the only ones that would smile and is always happy to assist. The rest are just straight up bitches-- sorry, not sorry for the choice of word. I always have to be sent to drop off for my dad's medication even after they sent me confirmation about the medication being "ready to pick up" because "hey there's something wrong with the insurance or blah blah blah".... I don't care whatever the reason is they just have to be NICE to their customers. ESP those 2 Asian women (I'm not being racist because I am an Asian myself), they NEVER smiled and if there's something wrong with the medication (between them and the doctor) they always made me, the customer feel I am stupid for not knowing what's going on with the medication---- BIG LOL. I always thought I'm the only they've treated like that, but I've seen other people in front of me and there's still like that to them. I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time someone complain about them, so I'm just wondering how they're still working there. I mean no offense. But really. Will update if there's a change.. but for over a year of having same experience---- highly doubt it.. but who knows management will finally realize this and start doing something. read more

I'm pretty impressed with how fast the pharmacy got my medicine ready, despite getting the prescription last minute when they were super busy. Comparing this place to the other pharmacies I have been to I must say they are quite a bit better, however keep in mind this is only one experience with these folks. They were super busy when I showed up but managed to be very nice and professional, even though they were swamped. I'm typically not a big fan of big corporate companies when it comes to pharmacies, but given that I needed the medicine when every other pharmacy was closed, everything worked out perfectly. read more

This is a 24-hour place with a wide selection of items, which is a plus. The three stars are for the poor customer service. I personally believe customer service can make or break an experience. I came here on a whim on a Saturday afternoon recently and it turned into an unpleasant experience for me. I was grabbing a few things for Valentine's Day and proceeded to get in a single line for check out. One register was open and it seemed a newer employee was there trying to help customers. When he asked another employee for help, she yelled out she couldn't help him with what he needed and that he should call someone else. Meanwhile, the same employee was now opening another register for check out and chatting away with each customer as the line grew. Someone came to help the first gentleman I mentioned so while his register was out of commission at this time, the woman at the other register continued to take her time to chat. I definitely don't think sharing pleasantries is a bad thing, but if there is only one register open and a long line of people then it needs to be kept short and sweet. I noticed a couple behind me go to the two self-checkout registers where only one was working. That line began to grow too and then the light for the self-checkout began to blink as this couple now needed assistance. They stood there for a while and when I was finally checking out, this couple continued to stand there with no help in sight. Maybe that day was an off day, but the customer service overall wasn't great. I would personally not shop at this CVS if I can help it. read more

This place is really beyond the pale. It's one thing that a couple of years ago they decided not to stay open 24 hours. I'm sure they have business reasons, no big deal. The problem is, their website is not updated. Well, you'd think a national chain could figure out how to fix that some time over the past couple of years, but fine. But then you drive past the store and there is at least one big sign saying "open 24 hours". C'mon already, seriously? But here's the kicker, you use your phone to actually make a call for once and it is to this CVS location and you get a machine that offers help and you ask for the store hours and even the store's own phone says 24 hours! What is wrong with these people? The manager of this store and I guess the company as a whole shows absolute contempt for their own would-be customers. Don't communicate to the public that you're open 24 hours for years if it's not true. People go to you in the middle of the night often because of an emergency. Some people drive for miles to get there because you're the only store where they think they can see a pharmacist or purchase medicine at 3:00 am and the way you finally see fit to be truthful about your hours is to have these people come to find a locked door and no explanation. People usually trust your website or at least your outgoing phone message at your own store when really they just need to read the reviews which you, idiots that run cvs, obviously don't do. Is the bureaucracy so far gone that it takes what, a decade to change one representation about your hours? Do you ignore the criticisms of you that are published all over the internet about your inability to articulate the time when you people lock the doors? These complaints about you have been pouring out for about two years. Is your internet still dial-up? Do you need someone to pass a cup around to collect enough money for you to hire a 16 year old to update your website? Is everyone too shy to leave an outgoing message about the new store hours. I'll be happy to assist in taking down your sign, leave an outgoing message with proper store hours, and I bet it would take me less than2 years to figure out how to update your website. Made COVID testing appointment. Showed up on time. Sat in car per instructions for 45 mins for someone to come out. Everyone else sat in car waiting for someone to come out too for just as long. I called and was on hold for 40 minutes. When the pharmacist Ngoc answered I told her I'd been on hold for 40 min and her response was to ignore my concern about the wait time and proceed to rush my reason for calling. I then requested a prescription to be filled and she looked up the script sent in by my Dr. Her response was it's not covered by my insurance. I told her that I have new insurance but I've uploaded the card to the system and asked her to confirm it's the same as my card I was holding. She refused to take the group number and member I'd on the phone to verify and said I had to come in person so she could look at the card, because she had 10 other people waiting. That was completely unacceptable as it would have taken 30 seconds to read her the info and her to type it in and save me a trip into the store. She was rude and uncaring about a customer's experience only that she was too busy to help me and for that I had to waste another hour going into the store then waiting for the prescription to be filled. The man at the cash register was very polite and seemed to care about making us customer's feel like people not a chore that they resent cause they are busy. Most of my complaints have already been covered by the other one star reviews here, but I wanted to add mine to the growing heap. We are finished with CVS pharmacy. Not just the horrible one in Carlsbad, but all CVS stores because any corporation that maintains a store like the one in Carlsbad ought to be boycotted! The current head pharmacist, Justin, at this store believes he knows more than the prescribing doctor and has actually held back essential prescriptions or changed them without notifying either us or the doctor! When they hold back a prescription, they promise to contact the doctor immediately...but of course they do not contact at all! We have also been met with the same rude, arrogant treatment from Jill, who is often Justin's stand-in. We're going back to the Carlsbad Rite-Aid, no 5 star pharmacy and not preferred by our insurance but at least far more reasonable and helpful by far than this nightmare pharmacy. read more

This pharmacy has given me the worst customer service ever, first you get there there's a line out the door literally out the door no big deal it is a business you should expect a line, however after a 45 minute wait you get to the counter and right as you get to the counter there's a sign that says if you're coming directly from your doctor's office go to the drop off window OK why was this sign not by the front of the store or even by the front of the aisle leading to the pharmacy counter so you could correct your mistake before hand. I get to the counter and the lady says so why didn't you start at the other window like the sunset? As I replied why don'tYou guys put the signNear the end of the line not at the front of the counter so she goes gets my Medications walked me to the N window or drop off window the kid behind the drop off window says there's a charge I replied there should not be a charge because these are through Workmen's Comp. so he has me two bags and keeps one until it's released through Workmen's Comp. then he takes one bag put it back in the tray takes it back to the back of the pharmacy and asked me to stand back at the end of the line Again only to retrieve the bag that never left the pharmacist hands until she handed it to him to give it to me at the end of our transaction. How does this make sense had a paid for the third prescription they would have ended me all three bags and sent me on my way so because I did not do this I have to go stand in line for 45 more minutes. This is the worst customer experience of my life how do you treat a customer this way why would you expect me to come back I will not drive to the next further away pharmacy to avoid doing business with this one and giving them my money. read more

First review I've given. Lack of service and respect. We all have a choice with what pharmacy we go to for flu and COVID vaccines. The attitude of the technician giving those shots, has a lot to do with our choice. I've had all my Covid and boosters- the last 2 given at this pharmacy by the pharmacist. I made appointments that were kept at close to the time scheduled by a friendly sweet pharmacist. I made the mistake of signing up for an appointment to their minute clinic for a flu shot. Followed all the instructions txted to me and responded to all. But made mistake number 2 of waiting on the wrong side of the pharmacy counter. The Minute clinics tech did not bother to call out my name at the time of my appointment or go the few feet to see all the people waiting on the other side. A wait of over 40 minutes before I was told to go to the other side by the pharmacist did not put me in a very good mood. The minute clinic's technician's attitude- dismissive, no apology, accusative, was the last straw. Because of her, CVS - this CVS at least, has lost my business. read more

I had just been released from the ER and I had to transfer my prescription from my CVS in Vista to this CVS in Carlsbad. I called the Carlsbad CVS to make sure they had the medication and they said they did. Then after I had the doctor call in prescription, that CVS called me and told me they didn't have it and would have to order it which would take 4 days. The pharmacist was incredibly rude to me and told me to "stop talking". They are extremely unhelpful and I will never use them again even if they are 24 hours. read more

Other than that this is your regular 24 x 7 CVS pharmacy. The isles are always well stacked and well maintained. I think they are a bit short-staffed, so expect long waits. I understand that COVID has hit business with low staffing. I have dealt with severe low staffing at my place of employment but waiting 15 minutes for a worker to come unlock the lashes behind the red locks and then they had to take it to behind the registers which okay I still get. I went to grab two other things then headed up. there was no line but the gentleman was doing the balance of the register which again I understand that is part of his duty but he just ignored me for ten minutes no acknowledgment whatsoever to even just say "oh be one moment" until my fiancé saw that he went to his phone to text someone! I wish I could give a zero star if there is one. I uploaded the photo last night to get it print. I've received the email saying that the photo is ready to pick up. And then I came to the store today, the staffs told me that they can't find it. Without giving me any explanations, the lady just turned her back to me and that it. She then send my photo to the printer, again, without any conversations or explanations. Five minutes later, I asked how long it's gonna take, and then she finally answered"maybe you want to come back later to save your time". I UPLOADED AND PRINTED THE PHOTO ONE DAY AHEAD TO SAVE TIME!! Terrible customer service. Spoke with Monica the store manager about three QuickVue covid test kits that I purchased at this location. Each test kit is suppose to come with two test but each one of the box I purchased only had one test kit inside. I said either the manufacturer made a mistake or an employee at the store is removing test kits. Monica says that's not possible cause kits are stored behind the counter.
