I have mixed feelings regarding this CVS. More times than not, I have been happy with the service, save for small inconveniences and misunderstandings. Last week, however, the small misunderstandings became a huge issue. When I spoke to my doctor, I misunderstood him and thought I was being given a supplemental prescription to take with my current prescription. I did not realize that the prescription was a replacement for my current prescription. Because of that misunderstanding, I filled my original prescription on March 17 and the replacement (what I thought was supplemental) on March 24. CVS should have not filled the prescription on the 24th since it was the same medication, just in a different dose. That was the first mistake that was made. Fast forward one month: My doctor mails me my prescription and I'm still unaware that there is only one. Because of this, I think this is the first of two prescriptions and head over to CVS to fill it. At first, the service is very good. The clerk does a check to make sure they have my medication in stock and begins to put the info in the system when she tells me they can't fill it for another week since I had had it last filled on the 24th of March. Because of that, I cannot fill it until April 21st at the very earliest. I try telling her what I believed was going on (mixup between supplement/replacement situation) and she understood what I was saying. To be safe, she brings the pharmacist out to speak with me. That's when things went from a misunderstanding (that could have been resolved if she told me to call my doctor to confirm the prescription) to an extremely humiliating experience. Having filled both prescriptions the month before, I didn't see the issue at hand so I tried to explain that they were two different prescriptions (my honest belief). In turn, the pharmacist tells me over and over again that I am wrong and that there is now way my doctor would prescribe such a thing. Because of that, she told me she wasn't comfortable filling my prescription at the time. When she said that, I told her that it was fine and that I'd come back in a week, I just wanted to know what the mix up was. She continues, however, by accusing me in front of the growing line of customers of lying to try to get extra drugs. She said "I can see what you are doing, you are trying to get extra medication." (In case you aren't aware, that's a felony known as "fraud." She was accusing me of a felony in front of a now-large group of customers). I asked her to call my doctor to see what he said, just to see what was happening. She speaks on the phone for about a minute and comes back to speak to me. She not only tells me that my doctor said I can't fill the prescription but that he wrote the wrong type of medication on the script. She proceeds to cross off portions of my doctor's orders and rewrite it with her own recommendations. Not knowing what to say or do besides walk out of the store humiliated, I ask them to hold my script until they can fill it and to make sure they have the medication in stock so I can pick it up when they said I could. After leaving the store, still confused about the whole thing, I decide to call my doctor to see what had been discussed and to make sure they understood I wasn't trying to get extra drugs. It turns out that the pharmacist never spoke to my doctor, merely the receptionist who read my chart. I began an email correspondence with the actual doctor that afternoon and it was finally explained that I had been given a replacement medication, not a supplemental. In the end, it was a simple miscommunication between me and my doctor. That miscommunication became much more complicated, however, when CVS agreed to fill the second prescription in the same month, building my belief that I had two separate prescriptions. The end result was an embarrassing 15 minute "discussion" between a very rude pharmacist and myself. I was talked down to, called a liar and accused of trying to get extra meds. I'm giving this place one more shot due to the convenient location but I hope that nobody is treated the way I was. read more

TERRIBLE customer service I decided to use CVS Pharmacy to fill a couple prescriptions because it was the closest pharmacy to my house. When i went in the gal told me that i needed to get the prescription approved from my insurance first and that i should call my dermatologist and have them contact the insurance company and then fax over the approval. So i did, and i went back the next day and the same gal told me they didn't receive anything. Since the dermatologist was closed i had to wait again until the next day to re-call. The dermatologist told me they had done what i'd asked and sent the fax. So i went back to CVS and they still told me that they hadn't received anything. This time i had brought my husband with me and he stepped in to help. He asked if they could double check the fax machine and the gal said : "Oh well it's broken. You'll need to wait for your prescriptioin until it's fixed." I was about to leave but my husband asked the same girl, "Can't you just call the dermatologist and get the approval over the phone?" She hesitated and then responded with: "I guess." The next day i called the dermatologist to let them know everything worked out. The derm told me that I should have never needed to call them in the first place- that it's the pharmacy's responsiblity to make the phone calls about approvals and that patient's aren't responsible for those details. She said, "I would find a new pharmacy because they seem really lazy and difficult to work with." I did. read more

Um, some associates are nice but there are a few bitter critters. If you use the bucks and check out the sales you can really save, my total came to 23$ but after the coupons and bucks i ended up paying 5$, it was awesome. read more

I was embarrassed in front of customers when accused to trying to pick up my meds too early. The woman with dark long hair held my meds over her head and said (I am not releasing this meds until tomorrow at 8 am. ) customer service is lost and some clerks get a power trip for no reason. read more

I'm done with this CVS. Only one employee, Shawna, cares about the customers. They consistently order incorrect brand of one med even though it's in the computer. They gave me the wrong meds another time. I observed them giving the wrong meds to someone else. Another time, on an order for three months they only gave me 30 pills instead of 180. The pharmacist actually had to subtract it on his calculator. There are different employees there every time. I was finally able to talk to someone at corporate office and he told me that I should change to Target CVS. I did. What a difference. No lines. Efficient. Pleasant personalities. On and on. Stay away from CVS on Broad at Marigold Center. read more

Most pharmacies I've gone to before have pharmacists who are overworked and impatient and unwilling to really help or listen. I just spoke to Gimbar and Julia on the phone though, and they were the complete opposite! So willing to go that extra mile! Passport Photos (2) taken at CVS for $11.99. Very good quality, and in accordance w all the "special govt. rules" that apply to receiving a correct passport photo. Service very quick! In and Out! I had photos taken a couple of weeks earlier at a recommended "photo & camera" shop for $21.00. I managed to misplace the first set of photos so needed to a re-do set. CVS passport pictures for 11.99 were of the same good grade as at the "camera shop" for $21.00. Thank you CVS for solving my passort photo problem. read more

Horrible pharmacy. I refilled my heart medication 4 days ago online at CVS website. I called CVS today since I hadn't heard anything from them. They said they hadn't heard back from my doctor. I called my doctor and her office had not received the fax from CVS. I called CVS, they said "Oh, they were very busy" I said I needed my medication, because I was out. Called my doctor back, her office said she had called CVS and left a message on the phone machine at CVS. Called CVS back, they said they had not received any phone calls. Now my doctors office is closed and I don't have my heart medication. I will be changing pharmacies tomorrow. read more

Received an excellent response in the mail from corporate after I printed and mailed them my review (their website didn't have an email contact). Named supervisors by name and said they were having a meeting on the subject. Feel a little better... haven't been in since to see if it made a difference but was really impressed by their contact back. read more

This smaller CVS was easy to navigate and had everything we needed. FYI The store was open until midnight, but the pharmacy closed at nine. I needed some allergy meds that were kept behind the pharmacy counter and barely made the pharmacy before it shut down. They do sell alcohol, so I guess I would have been fine till morning, but I was glad we made it on time. ;) An associate asked if he could help us and even walked us to the item, which was wonderful and very much appreciated. I had a great experience and will definitely revisit. read more

Really poor customer service by the pharmacist. Told the person at the front I wanted to file a complaint and was given an 800 number to call. I called, and was told my complaint would receive a call back response within 24-48 hours. They don't even care enough about poor customer service and performance to follow-up on poor customer service and performance. Best to find another pharmacy-Target and Costco are both super close. read more

Waited for almost 15 minutes for someone to help me at the photo counter for some passport photos. A rude lady finally came, and said "nope", we can't do passport photos... don't have a camera". "Really", I said. "you can't do them even though the sign says you can?" "Nope, can't do them even though the sign says we can." That was it. I left so as not to say something else. An "out of order" sign would have saved my precious lunch hour. Good grief... where is customer service these days? read more

Had horrible customer service at the pharmacy today. I don't recall their names, but the main gentleman is the lead pharmacist and has black hair. He rudely told me "move so I can help the people behind you" because I was trying to work out total dispute. The pharmacy was trying to tell me that my insurance card was fake (it's a friggin anthem blueshield PPO) and therefore were telling me i had to pay twice as much for a prescription as I usually do. Then the other gentleman, who has blonde hair and is quiet young, was rude and told me "We know what we're doing here!" because I was explaining the the woman who was helping me why I had never gone to this particular store. It's their job working at the pharmacy to explain any issues that arise and handle it graciously instead of being assholes about it. read more

The last straw after years of rude and/or careless pharmacy service was an assistant named Christine loudly calling me a "liar" when I tried to explain why I wanted to check the appearance of pills before leaving (a problem in the past with a prescription refill mistakenly labeled with the wrong manufacturer had caused an allergic reaction). Christine evidently misinterpreted this as "a serious allegation," even though it is well-documented in customer records, but instead of communicating concern, she chose hostility. When I tried to clarify the situation later by phoning the pharmacy manager Lynn, she hung up on me! My family will never patronize this business again. read more

The pharmacy is always good, quick and ready to help you get your meds. Just so you know I'm only talking about the pharmacy. The actual store is not worth shopping in. It's way over priced and you are going to spend 10min in line even if there is only 2 people in line. The other day I had to get a money order. It was a older, larger woman checking me out. It took her 20min to get my money order and she keep checking other people out and telling me to wait. I was in a hurry and extremely frustrated. Such delightful customer service. After having done a nasty number on my left foot learning to break dance down the stairs. I went to this pharmacy as it was closest and I did not know my way around as I am a temporary resident as a traveling nurse so I don't know the area well. Never been to a cvs before. I know things can sometimes take longer than stated. I waited the 15 min as promised. The clerk was fully aware of the problem. But maybe the crutches were to obvious for her. I then found a place to sit and waited another another 15 waiting for them to call my name as they said they would. Then I hear the clerk tell a gentleman who was dropping off his prescription that the pharmacist went to lunch. I immediately got back up to stand in line with my crutches and painfully swollen foot. I waited patiently even when others cut in front of me for another 15 min. The clerk then gets to me, goes to check for my prescription and proceeds to tell me that the pharmacist did not sign off on it and I would have to wait an hour for the pharmacist to come back from lunch. What kind of people work here? Unkind and incompetent. I hope that pharmacist and staff never experience the joy they made me feel. I have never refused to take care of even the harshest and meanest of patients. I would say I would refuse to be your nurse as you don't deserve my care or compassion. I don't make my patients wait for pain medications. I expect the same in return. I broke down in anger and embarrassment that I even had to be there let alone the pain I was feeling. I have a high tolerance to pain but when I can't even put wt on my mangled foot I need to be at home with some ibuprofen, ice and something to cut through the pain until I can get it fixed. I barely got my written prescription back. I was crying so hard by the time I got to the front of the store and having a hard time with my crutches even customers started asking if I was okay before an employee even stepped forward. I drove down to the sav on in AG. The pharmacist had my prescription filed in 5 min! That is a professional and a person with integrity who is in touch with humanity. We recently moved from Southern California where we have been CVS customers for years. We started using the Madonna CVS about a year and a half ago during our transition. I have filled the same prescription from the same doctor in Newport Beach for the past year and a half with no issues at this pharmacy, but today I was told they had to verify the doctor since he was out of the area. I was told this has always been their policy. I explained they had filled this exact prescription from this same doctor numerous times, but they insisted they still had to delay filling this prescription until they could contact the doctor. Since today was Saturday this would delay them filling the prescription until Monday, if they're able to reach the doctor. My husband is out of this medication and would not be able to take it for several days. We ended up taking our prescription back and transferring our entire group of prescriptions to Rite Aid. It's very disappointing the lack of customer care and service provided today. I guess these larger companies don't need our business. read more

Never once has this pharmacy had my prescription ready when promised. You wait in line only to find out it's not ready. Then kill time till it is, then wait in line again to pick it up. (I guess it's calculated to get you to wander around the store and buy things you don't need while waiting for your meds .) The pharmacy is grossly understaffed, both the pharmacists and techs who fill the prescriptions and the clerks who ring up the purchases. I feel really sorry for those frontline staff who have to listen to all the customers' complaints when it's clearly management that chooses to beef up profits by understaffing this busy pharmacy. It's apparent a prescription is not filled until someone walks in to get it. And if you decide to leave because it isn't ready, you'll get a text that your prescription is ready an hour after you've gone home. So frustrating that my insurance requires me to go CVS to get the best prices on my meds. Otherwise I would never give them my business! read more
