First time bike just passed my MSF safety class and went here to get all my gear. I did a lot of shopping and looked online but even online prices couldnt compare to the deals they had here. BIG thank you to LUCAS! (assistant manager i believe) He spent a lot of time with me making sure i get all the correct gear for me. Not only that he gave me a lot of tips to quickly get started in the biking world. The staff is really cool, layback and there to just help.. I dont think there another store like.. I been to the other cyclegears and they arent as friendly as these guys. I am a Harley rider and I have been coming here for years for my helmets, accessories, etc. The guys at the Fullerton store have always been helpful and their customer service is outstanding! This morning I bought a phone holder for the handlebars of my bike. The guy (can't remember his name but the receipt said admin) recommended one and it works great up to 105 mph with no windshield. Can't say enough good things about this store and it's staff, esp Lucas the manager. When I bought my ninja 250, I decided to visit on a whim not knowing I would become a regular. Ended up spending a lot more than I expected but it is one of the rear occasions where I am extremely satisfied with the investment. Not only did I get the best deals on EVERYTHING, I learned about my bike as most of the staff there is pretty experienced as they own multiple motorcycles. I usually deal with Lucas and he is one of the most honest salesman I have encpuntered. He offered me an inexpensive alternative to everything (ranging from helmets to jackets to cleaning solutions) even when I was willing to squander my money. They match competitor prices and have discounts on gear on Thursday evenings. I say give this place a go at least once, you have nothing to lose. This place is like a Home Depot for motorcycle gear. What is really cool is if this shop doesn't have your size or color, they can have it brought over from another shop for you. At no extra charge. If you pay attention to the sales, you can get some nice gear for good prices. Even if what you are looking for is not on sale, it's still quality gear that is WAY less expensive than the BMW or Harley shops. And unlike the staff at the Cycle Gear shop on Lake Forest, the staff at the Fullerton store even talk to you if you are not decked out in riding gear and walking around with a helmet. read more

I go in looking for some new gear because mine had just been stolen. I find some pretty nice stuff but its no like cycle gear is responsible for the quality of the items. All in all I end up buying a helmet, chest protector, pants, jersey, goggles, and gloves. Thing is the jersey needs to be shipped from another store..No big deal. An employee named Terrance assures me that it should be in before I leave to Glamis exactly one week from the day I came in. He made it seem like he was doing me favors but giving me all these discounts and and that they were trying to help people out and what not. Meanwhile im thinking, dude its a business; please dont try and make it seem like you are my buddy. He Continues to tell me all of the discounts he is going to give me that he is allowed to but does anyways. I check my receipt later when i get home to see that i payed full price for everything. Im sorry but fuck that. Dont try to butter me up and then stick it to me. Im a college student who makes minimum wage and just got all my gear stolen. The folks at Cycle Gear take the time to explain all equipment and work with you until you find the perfect fit. The prices here are great, especially since they honor any online price you find on their website. They offer the major brands like Alpine Star and Shoei, as well as their own economical brand, Bilt. I'm a fairly new rider and passed my msf course back in January. I must say Cycle Gear has become one of my favorite motorcycle shops. There's a lot of variety in their merchandise, and if they don't have it in stock they are happy to order it for you. They have competitive pricing and great sales and promotions. Also the staff is very helpful and Jojo,the manager is very informative and makes sure the shop is running smoothly. You might not get their attention all the time because it's busy at times and they have limited staff. But it's worth waiting to get help and paying this shop a visit. To whom it may concern: I went to the store in Fullerton to purchase a device for my chain. I was misinformed (not by your associates) regarding what I actually needed; even though I was incorrect they still didn't correct me they just held my product that I wanted. When I came in they informed me also that it wasn't going to do the job that I needed. I'm very grateful that you have knowledgeable employees you don't see that anywhere nowadays most employees are just put there at an hourly rate. All three of the employees that I dealt with were very patient with me let me understand what I needed and I'm very thankful that they help me out and they got me in and out of the store very quickly and they gave me the actual information I needed for the products to complete my project that I was doing, so I could ride safe on my motorcycle. I dealt with Devin, Justin and one other employee that I didn't catch his name at the Fullerton store in California. If I recommend a motorcycle shop to go to it would be this one. Alright alright MOVE ASIDE! what do I have to say but to thank a store associate named Garret. To make a Short story long and boring let me start out by saying I came in here JUST to purchase a helmet because I of course on my first buy acted like a happy little girl scout (they can be pretty tough) and went ahead and bought a helmet a size to large for me after a few weeks came back and I met garret and I for one being a buyer who has a mind set on a certain item and thats IT nothing more or less He wowed me with his knowledge of stuff that I had no idea about. I might of as well not taken my rider classes and just paid to hear him talk. But anyway came out with a new helmet "fits great!" a jacket, feels comfy and fully protected ..i was thinking of taking a star off because it wasn't equipped with a cotton candy jetpack popcorn maker, but i could easily over look that..I also bought gloves and plan to come back for a helmet cam. maybe boots..probably pants also..possibly another helmet. maybe..JUST MAYBE..i might go overboard and get myself a sticker while i'm at it. I came here before even taking the MSF to look for riding gear. Ended up buying a Shoei helmet from them. Jojo is the person who helped me. He was super helpful. I wanted to get a flip-up helmet but he said it's better to get a regular full face helmet as there's no joints, reducing the possibility that the joints will fail in a crash. Helped me try on a number of different helmets until I found one that fit my head just right. I bought a helmet from them even though their price was not the lowest just because Jojo is that helpful. I took off a star because recently they decided to not stock as many name-brand items anymore. They did this to make room for their in-house brands, Bilt and Sedici. It doesn't look like these things are high quality and I have heard horror stories from those who bought these gears and have them fail in a crash. read more

My son bought me a helmet for my new (used) Harley. After wearing it around during my U-Ride motorcycle training class for over an hour it gave me a headache. The general manager, Devon not only let me exchange it but was VERY informative and explained the "one time use" theory exactly like I learned in my class. It's better to spend the extra Franklins and buy quality for your head. It's the only one I have. Devon was also very helpful in explaining the "why and how" of helmets. Devon was also very knowledgeable about changing the oil on my bike and gave me the confidence to do it myself and safe a few bucks. I was treated with the utmost respect even though I didn't really know too much and the fact I am female. I will be a loyal customer to Cycle Gear. They know their stuff. read more

RE: Tire Mounting Service Tire mount/balance (wheel off bike, tire purchased elsewhere) price has climbed to 50 dollars (management agreed to charge a 30 dollar price "this time." which I appreciate but in the future such tire service would be at the new higher price). Of two nearby honda dealerships, one charges 27 dollars and other is 27.99 for same service...wheel off bike and tire purchased elsewhere. Why the price gouging? If Cycle gear president Tracy Wan responds to my written complaint (certified mail 9/3) with any explanation of this price disparity...I will certainly update this post. However, if you want a tire changed ...consider your options. read more

This place is awesome. They have crap for every type of biking you do: On/Off Road, Sport, Cruising, etc. I'm a cruiser, and I came here for my helmet, rain suit, and bike cover. Staff has always been helpful. They have a generous 7 day helmet return policy, and everything is VERY affordable. They have all ranges of items from really cheap to really pricey. Something for everyone. This place is about 15 miles from me, but it's my regular cycle shop so far, unless theres one just as good close to me that I don't know about, and doesn't advertise LOL. read more

Im new to riding, and I needed to get fully outfitted. I go in and get a helmet, jacket, boots, gloves, and other small stuff. the guy helping me was very knowledgeable, and even though they get commission based pay, he didnt try to push expensive stuff at me. they do push their own brands, Sedici and Bilt pretty heavily, and from what i hear this is pretty good stuff for the low price. They isnt a huge in store selection, but they can get anything ordered in a timely fashion. theres several catalogs filled with gear from every company that has anything to do with motorcycles and dirt bikes, and you can find what you need in there and it will be ordered. i ordered a jacket on a saturday and it was in store by wednesday. will definitely use cycle gear from now on to get riding gear. read more

It is true that some of their staff are lacking in the Customer Service area; the ones that care about their jobs are great. Experience - 3 Customer service is pretty good. I've always been greeted, always asked if I've needed help. Which is one of the reasons why I come back. Just do your research and know what you want to purchase. I've overheard one of the workers try to sell some gloves to a guy (who knew nothing, was asking for an opinion), and I can pretty much say that I don't think the worker really knew what he was talkin' about, let alone if he actually rode a motorcycle. Being a woman, it's a bit of slim pickings when it comes to stuff offered. I recently went in looking for a deal on some gloves only to find that the deals were specific to just men's styles. They're too big, so when I did go to the women's section, there was only ONE pair for me to try on. And their FREEZE OUT pant layers are working out to be great so far! A bit big since I had to purchase them in men's sizes. Environment - 3 Sale stuff will usually be right in the front of the store. It's pretty lax and casual. Can feel a bit overwhelming since there is a lot of stuff crammed in such a small space. Price - 4 Great deals if you know what you're looking for. I come here often to get my chain cleaner and wax. First time rider, I went here to purchase a helmet since they are right down the street from my house. The staff helped me pick a helmet that I thought would be perfect. I took it home but after wearing it around the house for a day I started to get a headache. I took it back with their 7 day exchange policy and picked up another helmet. I kept going back and forth between Shoei and Arai. 5 helmets later I finally found the one that fits my noggin. Shoei GT- Air fits perfect and the staff, while I think they were a little annoyed by me coming back so many times to return the helmet, not having the bike yet to wear the helmet I always made sure to leave the helmet in perfect/new condition. read more
