We came here on November 2nd for Bike Night and I have to come on here to commend Jesse for his excellent customer service. Per usual, most people in these stores ignore me because #1) I'm a woman and #2) I come in with my daughter (now daughters). The assumption is I couldn't be an actual customer at Cycle Gear, but the fact of the matter is I ride a '08 Suzuki GSXR 750, and even though I come with my husband, who is riding the bike at the time, that doesn't mean I don't ride or don't have an interest in motorcycles. Someone has to drive the kids! And it just ends up being me. Jesse was not one of these usual workers. He immediately addressed me and my daughter, asked us if we wanted snacks or a cold beverage that they were giving out at the event. He also came by a couple times to make sure we knew he was available if we needed help. I felt seen. It was a nice change. He seemed genuinely nice and interested in speaking with my husband about his interests as well, and noticed that we had a small baby (2 month old) with us. He asked about her and how old our other daughter is. He was a great employee and I think he needs to be recognized for going above and beyond at his job! The Bike Night had music, cool snacks, cold drinks and little give aways like towels, stickers and bottle openers. They also had a seafood food truck outside. It was a good time and the store itself was clean and had a good selection of items.

I am a bit pissed with Cycle gear... The staff is great, super friendly guys but, When I dropped off my super clean and freshly restored vintage 1985 RZ500 wheel for tires I asked nicely to be careful with them and don't scratch them. Well, they did scratch them in 3 seperate places... If you have a concourse clean bike and you need new tires I would think twice about having Cycle gear do them! I should have done them myself as I use plastic tools and use care when installing tires!

I went in today and purchased my wife a helmet, the guy that helped me was very knowledgeable and helped me find the right one! Their location is convenient and the parking was as easy as it gets. They also have huge inventory! My go to CycleGear location from now on!

Why bother buy online when they sell the same price as online? I always had a good experience at this store and CycleGear online as well.

After riding for a few weeks, I noticed my forks were leaking oil, so I took it to Nor Cal Cycles for a repair. From the moment I walked in, Alfie greeted me and made me feel welcomed. He took the time to listen to my concerns and scheduled an appointment for me to drop off my bike. About a week later, Alfie reached out with some honest recommendations, including changing my tires which I happily agreed to. His honesty and kindness are truly refreshing in today's world. Where finding folks who take pride in what they do a bit tough. Alfie also shared with me additional advice about my bike once I came to pick it up, which was great. A huge thank you to the entire Nor Cal crew, and especially to Alfie for making this experience so smooth. I'll definitely be returning!

Nini at the front desk was absolutely perfect for the job imo: compassionate, reassuring, and exactly what a first-timer needs before throwing a leg over a bike for the first time for real. Freddie and Henry were great too, really easy dudes to talk to and very helpful with sharing tips and other pointers for me. I'll be honest, I dropped the bike an equal number of times on both sides over the weekend, all at zero mph (embarassing af). Symmetrically bruised ego, perfectly balanced. Returning it felt intimidating, but the whole team handled it with zero judgment and genuine professionalism. I didn't try to hide anything and they made the whole process painless, albeit with some monetary penalties caused by my inexperience (I own up to this though). I'm leaving with my wallet lighter but with my heart genuinely fuller for the experience. The environment this shop creates for nervous beginners like me is genuinely rare, and it made me feel supported and motivated to come back and do better next time. Will absolutely be back for my next rental and keep getting ride time in, because real experience gained like I did is priceless. The human element of the shop is just cherry on top, and makes me feel good I'm supporting a local business. Shoutout to Nini, Freddie, and Henry. You made a squid feel welcome.

This is going to be a long review so if you want the short version here it is. I drove eight hours round-trip to pick up my bike from these guys even though I had closer dealer options and I would do it all over again. Great prices, better people. Now for the longer version. I did some price shopping within about a 4 to 5 hour loop of my home in Reno. There were two reasons I was willing to make the drive down to Livermore for the purchase of my bike. Not only was the price worth the eight hour round-trip, but when I spoke to the owner, Mike on the phone, his service, knowledge, and friendliness was the icing on the cake. When I arrived, I was greeted at the door by name and was immediately taken to my bike to check out before doing any paperwork. Unfortunately, with my timing, I arrived right as KTM's system went down. Mike and two other techs troubleshooted for just over an hour, but the system would not get the bike out of dealer mode. I'm no stranger to technical problems and completely understand that it was out of their hands, but there was no lack of effort from his side. He didn't just say "oh the systems down come back tomorrow, he took the time to trouble shoot it for over an hour until past closing time. KTM's online support is based in Ohio a couple hours ahead of Livermore so unfortunately they were unable to help that evening. Mike said they would have it unlocked first thing in the morning when they got in contact with tech-support and that he would purchase me a hotel room for the night or I had the option to take the bike home with the dealer lock still on it and he would arrange for my local dealer to unlock it. I opted for the second option. I received a call from Mike the next morning letting me know who to ask for at my local dealer because they were expecting me. Mike was also extremely knowledgeable about the bike and gave me a full rundown of the dashboard and effectively answered all of the questions that I had because I was not used to a bike with that much technology on it.

In my opinion he went above and beyond to make my purchase easy and he's still there to answer any questions that I may have. Yes that's correct. Still there after the purchase, that's very important to me Mike the owner is a great guy as well. He actually delivered my bike to Manteca at no charge. These are the personal touches that make a difference. I had a small issue with the service department and I think it was more of a misunderstanding than anything else. Mike is working with me now and I believe we will get this figured out. Definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a high-quality machine at a reasonable price thank you Cal Moto for all your help and also for being there with any future problems that may occur Tony ( from Manteca)
