I had noticed our dryer doesn't ventilate properly outside which of course freaked me out. I googled dryer venting and had a heart attack when I realized how bad it was. STOP THE DRYER NOW!!!!!! We had a service agreement with a well-known Service Champion in Contra Costa County. One so popular they are always booked. Two weeks ago our former service company inspected our system, noted it was old, gave it the all clear and suggested we replace the capacitor before next summer. Well, our a/c stopped cooling this morning. Our preferred vendor told me the earliest they could come out would be 9/9 (yes, with a service contract). I told them we have guests coming this weekend (some elderly) and we needed working a/c in 100 degree heat. Nothing.
