Decided to try Cypress Grille today while at Boerne's Dickens on main. We were seated quickly and service was excellent. I tried the Saturday special which was prime rib cheese steak with house made fries. Prime rib was cooked perfectly, super tender. My niece had the twice baked potato with brisket. Potato had great flavor and creamy with tender brisket and a side salad. Both plates were more than enough and could easily be shared. read more

My mom (who reviewed earlier today) gave me her eggplant leftovers and it was delicious!! Full of flavor and cooked where it was soft enough and not tough. We go here often, usually for Wine Wednesdays, and always love the food. The bread and oil we usually like to get with balsamic vinegar as well but I don't think the oil tastes bad. My mom has told me many times at different places we go to that the food is bland and doesn't taste good. First time here. We happened to be in Bourne buying a truck that evening and looked up a place to eat. It was my husband, three year old, and I. We didn't have reservations and we quickly offered a high seat table up front which worked out fine for us. Food was on the pricier side but seemed worth the money and everything tasted great. Food took close to an hour to come out but I attribute that to making it fresh and it being a busy Friday night. They did bring out our toddlers meal out right away which was nice and her meal was affordable and very good, better than the usual children's fair which is usually an after thought. I love pork chops and was very satisfied with what I ordered. I would recommend this place for a nice evening out for adults or for a special occasion. Overall great experience. read more

The ambiance is super chill. Seats are amazingly comfortable and this may sound weird but when you schootch the chair in and out...it is the most silent chair ever! The service was lovely and the food amazing. Had the BBQ potato...it's comes with a delish salad as well! Plenty of food for a whole meal as well. Food was very good. We especially enjoyed our root beer float. They have the rootbeer on tap from a keg and it's superb. Our server was a lady probably in late 30's early 40's shorter stature and she was a delight. Would definitely love to return next time we are in town. Cypress Grille has a little bit of everything on the menu and a great wine selection. The prices of both food and alcohol have increased dramatically while the quality of food has not improved to warrant the price point. The tomato and artichoke dip was very tasty! Having the special bolognese pasta at $48 a plate, it was average at best. The veal schnitzel was a new addition to the menu and it was underwhelming as well. The sauce used on the schnitzel was closer to a basic marinara spaghetti sauce. The beef tenderloin wasn't anything special. The side options were much more enjoyable, try the truffle mac and cheese! The desserts are all made in house including ice creams. We will try again later in the year to see if adjustments have been made read more

This is one of my top favorite special occasion restaurants in Boerne! It is best to have a reservation, although the front portion of the restaurant is a "wine bar." Happy hour in the wine bar brings great specials. We had a quaint window table, in the back, which has an open chef's kitchen. A bottle of Daou wine was a nice selection to sip while we dined. It is amazing to watch the cooking team work together, creating spectacular dishes. Crab cakes as an appetizer, probably the best we have ever had! Salad, wedge, very good! Excellent restaurant with superb service, fresh and delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere. We stopped for lunch and had a great meal. My wife had the chicken tortilla soup (because they serve Texas size meals) and I had the grilled chicken sandwich w/their chips. Everything was wonderful and the service was also fantastic. This is a frequent drinking spot I truly enjoy. This time while at Dickens on Main, I enjoyed their house Sangria. Nicely served in a large copa, giving it a Texas Hill Country vibe. If you're looking for amazing freshly prepared cuisine, Cypress fits the bill. The pork shank, steak medallions, roasted chicken are prepared with that chefs touch that leaves you feeling truly satisfied. I've tried most of the menu over the years and to this day enjoy my selections every time. The tall Blue Moon is my go to most of the time when I sit at the bar, but a nice glass of wine hits the spot, paired with the hummus or calamari. read more

One of my favs in downtown Boerne- last 2 times I got the Cobb salad- I may be a little obsessed with this salad-btw- I'm not a salad lover! This has been the favorite for me to bring family and friends. Tonight we went to celebrate a birthday and was told the Steak Diane was no longer available. It was replaced with some red sauce that was no where close as good as the other version. The group was disappointed and there was no bread pudding. On a Thursday really? This was our first time visiting here. We were greeted warmly and was shown to our table right away. I was pleasantly surprised as this visit was on a Saturday at noon. Our waitress was very helpful with the menu. Janie ordered the TMC brisket twice baked potato. Very tasty and prepared perfectly. I had the Saturday special: Prime Rib Cheese Steak Sandwich. Wow! It was very good. I was expecting aus juice with it, but this was a bit different and didn't need it. This sandwich was very good and highly recommended this. I'm not sure if this is only offered only on Saturday. But it's definitely one you should try. Overall, this is a great place to bring out of town guest. Right on the main drag in Boerne and if you are visiting from out of town, eating here in between shopping is a nice break. While we didn't order any wine, they have a great wine list that would meet anyone's palate. This salad was really good and refreshing! I love Caesar salads and this one definitely hit the spot. I would say it's sort of nice, but the prices aren't terrible. It may look small from the outside, but once you step foot in this gem it seems to go on forever! We had a wonderful experience across the board. The waitstaff is very attentive and the food was excellent. The patio was clean and we never felt "forgotten" as an outside table. They also have a great happy hour. Our server was good, but failed to mention anything about the night's special (I overheard the waitress at the next table talking about the night's special, which unfortunately was after we had ordered and I would preferred the special). The food was good (not great) so not sure if we will be back. My husband had the mahi mahi with the lobster ravioli. The sauce was around the ravioli, not on it, so the ravioli was pretty dry. Growing up in Boerne, I've had several special meals at Cypress Grille but it had been a while since I'd been, since I moved away. This past weekend I was back in town from Austin and wanted to try Cypress again to see if it was as good as I remember, and it absolutely was! We tried the grilled mahi mahi with pesto, spinach, crispy onions, and lobster & corn ravioli as well as the grilled pork chop with a twice baked potato and seasonal vegetables. Everything was so, so good...but that mahi mahi stole the show!! Amazingly flavorful, great contrasting textures and perfectly cooked. I wouldn't have thought to put some of those things together but they totally worked. We also had the dessert special, a croissant & brownie bread pudding with irish cream and pecan praline, and again, so so amazing and something that I never would've thought to combine. This place has been a gem on Main Street Boerne for a while now, and I hope it stays that way for a long, long time!!! read more
