Good food poor service. We ordered two entrees, (Fettuccine Alfredo and Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo) and one appetizer (garlic mushrooms) nothing crazy right? Once we hit the 50 minute mark, I told the waitress that I just wanted to pay for the drinks and we would be leaving. The waitress got upset and she said there was nothing she could do. I asked again to pay for the drinks and she said the food was coming. 10 minutes later the appetizer and entrees came. We arrived at 4:37 and it wasn't too busy. By the time we got our food the place was packed. I understand getting busy, that's why you order and appetizer. It's kind of pointless to bring the appetizer with the entree. Every Friday is Date Night with my husband and me. There are some nights I don't feel like cooking. I love having lunch with my girlfriends! This is your place. I would guess I have eaten at D'Lish 40-50+ times in the last 14 years & I have NEVER had a bad experience, truly! My husband usually orders from the specials, he is a fabulous cook and he raves about their dishes. I crazy about their pizza, but my very favorite is their Balsamic Supreme Salad!!' I add chicken & avocado and the 1/2 portion. Order an extra large plate, it barely fits on the salad plate served on. If my husband wants to share, the full is perfect. (I will not share my portion) Oh, I'm crazy about their strawberry lemonade if we don't order wine. One last comment, the manager of D'Lish (why don't I know his name?) is always on it. Been coming here for years and love the bread they give with the sauce and I've only had their chicken pesto because it's that good. I'm sure all the food is good but can't get away from that dish. Worked here a very long while back. Nick is awesome such a nice guy and even gave me a gift card for christmas. Javi the pizza guy (wassup!) Was chill too. Remember Mariano and all the crap he used to talk. Still a cool dude. Sam the owner didnt like how i sliced an avocado once and told me I'm not some "master" chef, and ended up not letting me learn anything new. I've been here 3-4 times over the years. This is probably my second time here this year. So I don't come here often. Long story short, I was just very unimpressed and dissatisfied with the overall dinning experience here. All of the tables here are worn out. Every table used to be a dark cherry color and is now pine color on the edges. I didn't take a photo of the tables, but it just gives it a worn out cheap feel. They have a very good selection of draft craft beer here. I ordered an Ale Smith Nut Brown Ale. Now usually craft beer is served in the proper glass ware that will bring out the taste of the beer... or at least a proper pint glass. Here, you get your craft beer in the same glass they serve soda and water in . This is horrible for a place that offered craft beer. The last time I was here I had the California Blonde and it was also brought out in a soda/water cup. It's hard to understand how a place that charges 15$ and up a plate for pasta doesnt have proper glassware for their craft beer. For my meal, I ordered the "diablo chicken pasta". It sounded delicious, and said it had chipotle peppers and so on. When it came out it looked like Plain old spaghetti with marinara sauce, and it tasted like it also, no chipotle flavor or "diablo" flavor what so ever. I told the server and was then given a side of ground up chipotle peppers to add to my pasta. Total let down. I might as well have ordered regular spaghetti and put some Tabasco sauce on it . The Pizza was ok. It was the Thai Chicken pizza. Not bad, but also bland in my opinion for all the flavor that should go into a "Thai" inspired pizza. Overall, the food here is very bland. They might serve big portions, but that still doesn't make up for the lack of flavor in their food. Just not impressed with this place at all. If you're in the mood for Italian, I'd totally recommend going to 3rd avenue in Downtown Chula Vista and eating at Mangia Italiano. I have good and bad news. GOOD news: D'Lish definitely lives up to its name. The food is amazingly DELICIOUS! We ordered the Chinese Ahi Seared Salad and Meatzilla Baked Penne -- YUM! Everything from the complimentary bread and marinara sauce to our selected dishes was simply fresh and tasty. The portions are perfect (and shareable). You won't be disappointed! And for the BAD news: This GEM has been in business 20+ years. My family and I have resided in Chula Vista for almost all our lives. Driven by multiple times (at least once or twice a week). Have seen marketing ads come through our mail. And we barely discovered D'Lish TODAY. I will be back. I will be back to bring my grown children. Our family. Our friends. Dlish is very good tasting food and never had my order wrong. I been customer for more than 10 years. My family all like this restaurant a lot. Today I decided to order pickup online through slice and I was given a window 4:15-4:25. I arrived at 4:15 and was greeted nicely and was told few more minutes my food would be ready. I sat down and 10min later I was told they were waiting on one item. In the meantime at least 5 other customers went to pickup and left within minutes. Around 4:45 I decided to go ask and the same staff member told me few more minutes almost done. At that time I decided to cancel since it was past the window of time that I was given and they still did not have my food ready. That staff member said once again my food would be ready soon after I had requested to cancel. I explained to her that it's past the window and they still don't have my food. She walked away to get the manager seemingly annoyed and I waited for him as well. Around 3pm 2/15 The 1 star was due to the service that was given not because of the food. For me service has a lot to do in restaurant business of course the food plays a major role but I believe that 80% of the time a customer is more likely to return if there's great service and a great atmosphere and definitely feels welcomed. We were greeted by the hostess the moment we walked in and noticed there were 2 servers standing at the door (I'll get to that in a sec.), We were seated in a booth and waited exactly 27 minutes to get greeted anf helped by our server when the restaurant was empty and only 1 table with customers. It almost seemed like we were un welcomed since one server (girl) kept walking back and forth by our table without acknowledging us, not sure if it was shift change or whatever the reason was, but you just don't ignore customers specially if it's empty, that's when you need to be attentive. What made it even worse was the fact that 2 gentleman were seated in the booth next to us and were helped the moment they sat by the same server that kept walking by our booth. The Menu has many great choices and at a affortable price, they even have a great kids menu! We had two personal pizzas, breadsticks, salad and drinks for under $20 and they were delicious. If you eat in, it is absolutely delicious and they are quick to fix any mistakes, and I am a loyal customer that keeps coming back. They have an inclusive and wide-selection menu, the staff is amazing, but almost every time I order to go or even dine in, one of the ordered items is wrong. Also, one time a manager said he was going to refund an item after I bought a Mediterranean salad and it had spoiled artichokes in it which encountered all the other ingredients, he never refunded me. I keep supporting them because 90% of the time, especially when orders are correct, their food is really delicious and inclusive but their cooks need to do a better job to ensure ingredients are fresh and staff needs to ensure orders are done correctly. It is an absolute safety hazard if you mix allergen foods in a allergen specific food item and if any items are spoiled customers can get sick. 3 stars until that improves. Very cozy atmosphere for the locals. Great experience to have if you are not from around the area. Great manager and friendly staffs. Last time I was there was on Sunday night. They had a local guitarist playing for the customers. This is a gourmet restaurant, the price is slightly higher than a regular restaurant, but the food tastes authentic. I ordered the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, the sauce had a rich creamy flavor. I would like it a little thicker, but it tasted great regardless. We also ordered the Thai chicken Salad with sauce on the side. They tend to go heavy on the sauce, so if you prefer light on the dressing, just get it on the side. The pepperoni pizza was on a thin crust and the marinara sauce on the pizza eass very flavorful as well. Overall, the friendly staff, the service, the cleanliness, and the cozy atmosphere earned this restaurant a 5 stars. I highly recommend this place if you feel like gourmet Italian. read more

The person who took my order had to put me on hold twice but was professional, apologetic and very helpful when it came to my order! We get there and was seated pretty quick and wanted to order something small because my girl friend does not eat much. One slice for her and she is full. We were looking for a good pasta place, well we found a great pasta place. The spaghetti and meatballs was amazing a decent size. The hubby got his fix. I ordered the shrimp Diablo, it was the right amount of spicy and the portion size was huge. The kid didn't car for the mozzarella on his margarita pizza, but I think it had something to do with the quality of mozzarella it was. (He is use to the cheap stuff). Very sad day, a couple weeks ago my husband and I went out to dinner D'Lish has always been very tasty and although not fancy or modern it had always hit the spot! Tequila chicken fettuccine was our go too! First things first, we sat at the table a gentlemen brings some bread and dipping sauce (very ordinary) we thank him and he lets us know server will be with us soon. Server arrives and first thing she says is "we charge for breadsticks " he wasn't supposed to bring these two out so I guess these will be free, we smiled and said okay as it was off the bat. We place the order a Tequila chicken fettuccine for me and a calzone the serves states again, the calzone doesn't come with breadsticks! And the pasta only comes with two if you would like more I will have to charge you. We agreed, when she brought out our dinner she asked me do you want your two breadsticks now or later if you want more than two I have to charge you! -Oh my gosh I kept thinking she's been in trouble for this before! Now to the food it has definitely lowered in quality and lacked flavor this time, the place just looks rundown and sad I kept wishing it was what it used ti be a family fun lively place! Now it's dark there's always gnats and although it's slow the serves seem stressed out. My husband and I had a fantastic lunch date here today after shopping at nearby BB&B. We hadn't been here since before Covid, so we were happy to be back at one of our favorite places. The dining room was busy, several families and couples, but were seated promptly at a nice table up front. Our server's name was Cesar, who was very efficient & polite~ kept our drinks (iced tea for husband & frosty cold lemonade for me) refilled as soon as they were near empty. Extra points for Cesar's multi-tasking skills as more customers were being seated, yet he maintained courteous, swift service to us throughout our lunch, providing our food & drinks. Much appreciated! Mozzarella sticks are our favorite appetizer from D' lish, and these were a generous serving and oh so good! We ordered from the lunch specials menu, which was plenty of food, as we enjoyed complimentary breadsticks with a zesty dipping sauce and a lunch-sized Cesar salad as well. Husband ordered Hawaiian pizza, and I had Roasted Vegetable Pasta, and both were excellent! We shared a serving of delicious Tiramisu for dessert, the perfect ending for our lunch date. Came to D'Lish today for lunch. I came early to take pictures and to check into Yelp when I noticed that if you check in you get 10% off of your food bill! I have not experienced such an awesome place in a very long time. The place is clean and the seating is nice. The server came over immediately upon arrival and seated me while I waited for my other party and ordered a coffee. My server's name was "Edson" from Brazil and he was amazing. His customer service skills were impeccable! He is by far my favorite waiter in a really, really long time. The owner Nick came over to say hello which made me feel really important! We started off with their house bread and a cold pasta sauce that was sprinkled with fresh Parmesan cheese in the center. We already knew that we wanted Cioppino when we got there and they couldn't bring it out fast enough. Both bowls were a wondrous beauty and both looked a little different because of the chef's artistic ideas. The Cioppino was so amazing with the baby squid, clams, mussels, scallops, large shrimp, salmon with seafood broth and a perfectly cooked angel hair pasta! I have been craving this for a very long time and D'Lish did not let me down. I do not really care for the bread but it was still good, I would have just prefered bread that was plain so that I could sop up the juice from my food. Half way through our food we decided to have Edson bag it up and move on to dessert after all we can eat the rest of the Cioppino later right? We could not make up our mind of which dessert to try so we decided to order two. Tiramisu and the Creme Brulee. They were both rich and amazing but we ended up taking that home as well.
