Disappointing Service Experience - Moore Buick GMC I rarely write negative reviews, but after this experience, I feel it's important to share so others can make an informed decision. My situation with Moore Buick GMC turned into a five-and-a-half-month ordeal. I brought my 2021 Buick Envision Avenir into their service department in mid November due to peeling paint on both sides of the roof--something that is clearly a manufacturer defect. Photos were taken, and I was told a warranty claim would be submitted to GM. I was later informed that additional photos were required, resulting in another trip to the dealership. After weeks of unanswered calls and messages to the service advisor, I was eventually told to take the vehicle to a body shop recommended by them. Several more weeks passed before I was finally told that GM had denied the claim due to cost and that I would need to take the vehicle to a different, less expensive body shop used by the dealership. After continued delays, lack of communication, and no returned calls, I ultimately took my vehicle to Trent Buick GMC in New Bern. From the very first interaction, they confirmed this was a manufacturing defect and scheduled repairs within a week. The issue was resolved at no cost to me. To this day, Moore Buick GMC has never followed up with me or provided any explanation as to why the claim was denied under their handling or why they stopped communicating with me. While I don't fault the service advisor personally, the ongoing communication failures point to poor leadership and management within the service department. Service quality directly impacts customer trust, loyalty, and future sales--something their management should take seriously. I had also informed Moore Buick GMC that we intended to trade in my husband's truck and purchase a new one once my vehicle was repaired. Instead, Trent Buick GMC earned our business by taking care of the repair and providing excellent service. As a result, we purchased a $90,000 truck from them, and they are now selling our previous vehicle as well. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend considering Trent Buick GMC before choosing Moore Buick GMC. And on top of this they make it very difficult to create a review on their website. read more

I've only used their service dept 3 times and each time they failed to complete a simple task. This last trip was the final time. Each time they failed to service the DEF tank as requested and this last trip the duel filter was changed, but didn't bleed the air from it. The truck struggled to start when I went to leave. when I asked about the DEF they came out and filled it, but spilled it all down the side, poured some water from a bottle on it and called it good. This place is a joke. Definitely not recommended for any maintenance of a vehicle. I noticed the residual fluid had crystallized all down the side today when I left work. I purchased a new 2023 Yukon XL back a couple years ago at Moore Buick in Jacksonville, NC. I had purchased several GM vehicle's from multiple dealerships over the past several years. Each time I would purchased the GM extended warranty that provides coverage up to 100,000 with zero or a minimal deductible. I was lead to believe that I had the same coverage with this purchase. After three visits, Moore's service department had failed to resolve the issue with my Yukon XL. After becoming frustrated, I choose to carry it to another GM dealership. It was there that I discovered I had a generic, non-GM extended warranty policy. This policy only had a zero deductible when it was used at Moore's service department. After choosing to use another dealership I had to pay a $200.00 deductible plus an additional $100.00 for the software update. Needless to say I was very disappointed. After carrying the vehicle to the other GM dealership the problem was diagnosed and the parts ordered. Once the parts arrived we dropped the car back off and the repair was successfully completed. Not only did they find a defective module but the software had not been updated which was also contributing to some of the issues we were experiencing. I'm not one who normally writes reviews, however, I felt this review might prevent others from experiencing the same problem. Make sure you ask specific questions before you sign the paperwork. In 2018 we had mechanical problems with our 2010 Buick Enclave when visiting our daughter in the Jacksonville, NC area. Moore Buick GMC fixed the problem which only required us to extend our stay by an extra week. Fast forward to this year. We bought a new Buick Enclave in 2020 knowing that we would be making an annual trip to NC from KY. My husband also intended on driving the new vehicle to work daily. Then Covid occurred and all work was done via telecommuting. So this year we made our annual trip to NC with only 5,000 miles on the vehicle. The week before Christmas our car displayed the Check Engine light. My husband took the vehicle to Moore Buick GMC without an appointment on December 23. They happily fit the vehicle in and tried to figure out why the Check Engine light came on. They gave my husband the diagnosis paperwork that indicated no apparent problem. Then on Dec 30th the Check Engine light came on again and stayed on. The day after New Years my husband went to Moore Buick GMC again to find only the sales department open. Early the next day he went back again as we were scheduled to make a considerable road trip on the 29th. Once again the service department gladly fit the vehicle in again and found a faulty sensor. They replaced the sensor and sent my husband on his way. The cost for the two visits in 2022 was $0. Thanks Moore Buick GMC for having an outstanding service department! The first time ( 2 years ago) we went to Moore Buick we were told this certain model Cadillac was $25,000.00 we went for a test drive in a car, we loved it when we came back we sat down to do the deal and all of a sudden our salesman said he made a mistake and now the car was $5,000.00 more which put it out of our price range, we really liked the salesman he was a friend so we didn't make a big thing out of it so we bought somewhere else. Well now July 28, 2025 our daughter wanted a SUV and after looking around at several dealerships she noticed a SUV at Moore, so we asked about the SUV while our daughter was at work, we told her it's in your price range and to test drive it, she did and loved it, she signs the paperwork and takes the car home, we then find out that this vehicle is $4555.00 more than what was on the sticker price, we make a call and go to Moore to meet our daughter there, the finance manager tells us that the extra charges are for taxes ( $660.00 approximately which we didn't mind ) and then their $860.00 for their service to register etc. and $250.00 mistake that needs to be refunded to our daughter and then there's two warranties $ 650.00 and $2998.00 plus a gap insurance of $500.00 that was added without her knowledge. If I didn't look over the paperwork who knows what would happen to the cost for this SUV. So this is Strike 2 for Moore never again will we go back there, buyer beware. read more

GMC's service department is the bar that all other service departments should strive to meet. The second I drove up I was met with a smile and courteous service. Completely open and honest brokers, they even brought me to the vehicle to pinpoint exactly where the problem was. I purchased a GMC from another dealer and found they hadnt identified a problem prior to sale. Not the most trusted name in the game. Recently bought a used truck from them. The next day I realized the power folding mirrors were not working. I took it back and was told that they would not fix the folding mirrors because the basic function of the mirrors still work. And informed me that they did not make enough money off the truck to repair the part. But would buy it back for what I bought it for. And sales person David also stated that if I brought it back to them they could get 3-4k more for it since no one is selling anything due to the covid-19 outbreak. That is not the way to do business. I am not looking to sell the truck back just looking for the parts to be fixed if they advertised it as having power folding mirrors then the should work. A few years ago I had decided to purchase a brand new Yukon XL to accommodate my growing family. I walked around their lot a bit when a salesman finally approached. I don't know if he didn't think this young kid actually had the funds or credit to make such a purchase, or if he just didn't like making money, but he made absolutely no effort to sell me a vechicle. So the next day I drove an hour south and bought a $50,000 Yukon XL from Bob King. A couple years later, I backed said Yukon into my workbench in the garage and took it there for the body work. They did a nice enough job on the repaired right quarter panel, but the ENTIRE REST OF THE TRUCK was covered in clear coat overspray. I didn't notice since I picked it up at night. I took it back a couple days later for full buff, but it's still there, and still pisses me off. read more

I am leaving a review on Moore Buick GMC in Jacksonville, NC. I went there for service on my 2010 GMC Acadia with 142,000 miles on it. My car was running well except when I turned from a stopping point and when I turned the wheel and started to move the grind and slippage. I though, I better get this checked out by a GMC dealer to really look at what is going on. So I took in the Acadia at the end of June 2020. After a couple of weeks, I am told that they were pretty sure the problem is my motor mounts. Oh, they were absolutely positive. So I said give me a quote and we can look at getting the motor mounts replaced. But I trusted they knew what they were talking about. I said go ahead, fix it up. So they took the engine out to replace the mounts. While they had the engine out I asked them to replace the spark plugs and wires to give it a tune up. That's when things got even crazier. The called me to tell me that I had a cracked block and the timing chain was going bad and now I was looking at a replacement engine since the cost to fix my engine would astronomical. So I said, that is not something I wanted to fix and asked what if they just put the engine back in and I could trade the car in and I would look at getting a vehicle off their lot. I get the response, well you would still need to pay $3k before we give the car back to you. They said, the labor involved will be owed. So now I had a decision to make. Get the Acadia fixed and Owe between $10k-$13k when all is said and done on a 10 year old vehicle that the body is in very good shape and will have a remanufactured motor or pay $3k to have nothing done and pay for nothing other than them telling me it needs work. Guess what they would offer me for the trade in on my Acadia? Not enough to cover the $3k. I took a chance and said let's get it fixed since they kept saying that it would be fixed up like new and the motor would have a 3 year warranty. So new timing chains, remanufactured motor, new motor mounts, new tires... cost was $10,145. Tough nut to swallow, but I did it, got the car back towards the end of July. So about a month after I dropped it off. I pay my bill and drive out of the lot. As I pull out, I turn steering wheel and drive away... guess what folks? The reason I went in there, in the first place was still doing the same exact thing. Oil started pouring out of the car. I was even more ticked off. Never had a leak before. Oh yeah, the air conditioning only worked on the driver side now too. So I take it back and ask to speak to the owner Jackie. He was obviously a smooth operator and someone that I knew was going to do nothing. I sat down with him, explained my issues and he says, he will help me out and do everything he can to make things right. I said to him, look you guys have had this wrong the whole time, I asked to see if they can just take the car and let me get my money I paid into the car already and I could put it towards another vehicle on their lot. He tells me that there is nothing he can do. Then this is what made me really pissed off. The owner of the GMC dealership says... "well, your Acadia isn't worth anything because it's already 10 years old". So what he just told me was, if you have a GMC vehicle that is 10 years old, then expect it to be worth absolutely nothing. Wow... okay, you have just lost a GM customer for life with that comment. I told him to fix the massive oil leak and the AC because that wasn't a problem before and they clearly broke something. He said no, I must pay for the parts, but he would not charge labor because those issues didn't have anything to do with what they fixed earlier. I couldn't believe what was going on. I said fine, and they take the car for a couple more weeks. I drove around with the mechanic to prove to him about the grind/slippage. When he heard it, his response was... hmm I didn't hear that ever until now. I thought, ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW dude? What happened to them absolutely being sure that it was the motor mounts? Clearly that was BS. So after a few more days they determined it was the "differential clutch". Another $1500 fix. I have had multiple light alerts on my Acadia since I left the lot at the service center telling me that there is a tire sensor issue and a stabil-Trak issue. I'm going to figure that out on my own. I'm not going back there because they may take my first born next time. read more

We had a horrible experience with the service department. We specifically asked for them to look at something when we took our Terrain in for an oil change. They didn't do it and when asked why, the service representative and technician tried to say it was because it was a different bulb (when it wasn't) and still refused to look at it since they were closing. Not happy at all with that customer service and we will NEVER return and definitely not buy a car from here. read more

We had a wonderful sales person, Ken Gurganus*, in September 2014. The customer service was impeccable. The financial person strongly encouraged us to use our loan balance to purchase the extended warranty, against are better judgement. Turns out she was right and we were wrong. Soon after we had our Enclave it was back, at Moore Buick, for a repair. It would have cost as a few thousand dollars that we did not have. The service department representatives were helpful and knowledgeable Collin Knoll (no longer there. Was a great help). The first two times, they provided us with the latest model Enclave to use while the repairs were made. While there they discovered the first of a few recalls that needed to be addressed. Soon, an ignition coil went, 2 months later, a second, a third, and then a fourth. It's scary as the vehicle shakes and jumps. My little ones become terrified and don't want to ride in the car. There are six coils two remain. At first (2) they were replaced for free under the warranty. Moore Buick said it was a fight for them to get it done. then we had to pay the deductible. Before a complete year this car had to be at Moore Buick more than six times (only once for an oil change. Which was complimentary). We have more been advised to trade it in for a newer model Acadia. Can't see that fitting in the budget nor these ongoing costs. My husband is the only one working while I am back in school. We need a reliable car as we have small children and a large family. Moore Buick has great salespeople they have an informed service staff, we got stuck with the wrong vehicle. *5 Stars for him and service department read more

We had a good car-buying experience here recently--not too pushy, good test drives, answering our questions, etc. The only bad part was all the waiting that comes along with it...and I just wish we had been told upfront that the financing portion was going to take an hour and a half instead of the 20 minutes (sorry, just a bit longer, now just a little longer, yours is next...) we were told so we could have ran and got dinner. My after sales experience for a preowned vehicle has been a nightmare and Moore Buick has lost any future business from me. I asked about any warranty work, service, or accidents. I was told nothing of the sort happened to this vehicle. The car infact has 2 engine part critical failures within 300 miles of one another. This information was not provided to me until I found out second hand. I was treated poorly by the sale manager, Ryan, after bringing this up. The GM was not willing to do anything but offer arbitrary services despite his staff dropping the ball. No compensation. Do not buy from here. They will love the money and not care about you afterwards. read more

After owning my Buick Enclave for over six years, Moore Buick has been the worse service department I have ever encounter. After taking my vehicle in September 20, 2016 because of AC blowing hot air. The service department conducted a diagnostic test which determine it was the blower that had created the problem. I then schedule an appointment to have it replace on September 28, 2016. One week later I start realizing the same problem was recurring, I then called to make an appointment but they were going to be closed due to Hurricane Matthew. I then notice green liquid coming out from under the vehicle, I then called them to schedule to come in my appointment was schedule for three days out. Upon arriving for my appointment, I spoke with the Service Advisor Bill Johnson and explained my concerned. He stated "well we fixed what you said was the problem (blower)" I respond that the only way I knew the blower was the problem is because that was the outcome from the diagnostic that was completed. He (Bill Johnson) then went on to say we wont charge you for another diagnostic but I can tell you the Freon system is the problem. I asked why it wasn't checked back on September 20 and he stated they didn't need to because I stated the blower was the problem. I told him his attitude and behavior was not acceptable and I would be reporting the issue to corporate because this type of service was unacceptable. Three hours later he return to let me know nothing was wrong with my car and everything was good, after realizing I wasn't going to get no where with him I accepted the paper. He then stated my keys were in my car outside. After approaching my vehicle realizing the doors were locked, I went back to him and ask where was my key, he stated they were in my car and basically shrug me off to tend to another customer and then he pointed to a white Buick Enclave (which was not my car) and stated ma'am your vehicle is running with the key in the ignition. I started getting frustrated and told him his constant accusation of trying to proof me wrong was getting no where. After realizing that my frustration has escalated he then try to resolve the problem. By this time few of the managers came on the scene and I explained my enter situation from the time I walk in the dealership from 9a.m. Bill Johnson then finally return to tell the managers (not me) that the wrong service was done on a different vehicle. He did not apologize to me for the error he basically ignored me. I had to leave my car there overnight so they could figure out the problem. Now they are quoting me a cost of over $900 to fix the problem. I told them that it is ridiculous because I just spend over $400 to replace a blower and now the same problem occurring two weeks later and now they are asking for more money for a presumable different solution. I do not trust these people to work on my vehicle because they wont even tell me or my husband what kind of work was done on our vehicle during the three hours it was in the service department on October 17, 2016 from 9a.m. to 11:30a.m. I took my vehicle in one minor issue, and trusting the experts to do their job but now we have major problem with our vehicle. I would never take my vehicle back to them. Moreover because of such horrible service and their lack of trust, I don't even feel safe to drive my own vehicle anymore. For dealership that is in a Military town, they should do their best to accommodate and listen to their customers and take care of the veterans and military person vice trying to make money off them every chance they get. This situation will be handle by corporate. One star is not the right ratings for this place, I will never recommend anyone to buy or service vehicle here. Alicia M.P. read more

Horrible service. Kept our car for a week to replace the warrantee transmission and replace a broken panel in the car. Said they would replace it for free then charged us $90 after we brought it in, they later complained about how hard it was to replace it as if that matters to me at all and said the rep who said they'd do it for free got in trouble for saying that, again not my concern. Finally got our car back and they hadn't replaced the transmission, said it was replaced by previous owner, and they lost some of the pieces to the new panel we had bought and the one they replaced broke when they installed it and they didn't say anything about it. So basically they had our car for a week and did nothing but lose/break our property, huge waste of time. Had to argue with the manager to get our money back, they should fire their management because they obviously don't know what they're doing. I shouldn't have to fight to get my money back for them doing nothing but losing/breaking my property and keeping my much needed car for a week, the rental they gave us was NOT comparable. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. Let me tell you my story. I had an 8:15 apt today in the service department to get my A/C fixed. I had to bring my two year old, who is teething and is very busy. After being told that my car would cost over $500 to fix, I agreed to pay and I was also told it would take a while. They offered me a shuttle but I refused and told them I would call my husband to come get us. As I was on the phone, trying to contact my husband my two year old was still throwing a fit and a "man" by the name of Jackie Young who is the General Manager approached me and stated that if I didn't take the shuttle that they would not do the service on my car because my daughter was disturbing other customers and we would be forced to leave. We packed up our things, refused the service and will never go back to Moore Buick GMC. Apparently they do not support mothers with little ones. I encourage all parents to go elsewhere, where they are more child accepting. read more

Hands down this was one of the easiest car buying experiences I have ever had...trust me I have had many lol. Juan Espinoza was by far one of the nicest and most thorough salesman I had ever encountered, and I did not have that festering " I have been had" feeling that normally comes along with car buying. Mr. Espinoza was very upfront as far as pricing and what was and was not possible and extremely knowledgeable about his product. There is nothing worse than purchasing a car and your salesman doesn't know basic information such as engine size. The final step in the car buying process, finance is where you would normally expect to get hosed...NOT the case here either. Tim Ramsey was our finance manager and again one of the nicest and most professional hands down. I was in and out of the dealership with my brand new Yukon in less than two hours. read more

First they used every tactic to sell me my vehicle except for listening to me. I got the "I want to see you leave in a vehicle today" to "this offer is only good if you buy today" to "I have spent a lot of time on this deal and it sounds like you aren't serious." This was when I asked if my husband could be present to discuss the deal. Then when I did buy they had to bring it out 3 times before it was clean. Fast forward 3 months and I am already having issues with the tv's I was told were the best on the market. First the wiring was wrong and the seat was not put together correctly. Then a few months later I was told they were basically a lemon and they would replace the right side that was completely not working. So July 2014 I had it replaced. Less than a year later its doing the same thing and they will not replace because even though it has been less than a year, I am over 12,000 miles....Well, of course I am! We are in the military and I travel home to see family. I also received a call a year after buying my vehicle asking which bank I was paying for my car loan. After I told them, I was told they had sent my title to the WRONG BANK....I had been paying for my car for a year! They explained both the woman that sold me my car and the man that did my paperwork no longer worked there. All in all, they scam you...they don't stand behind their product and they don't do the right thing by their customers. AS SOON as you drive off the lot. You are no longer important. read more

I am a lifelong GMC driver and have purchased 5 of my vehicles from Moore. The GMC line was something that my grandfather passed to my father and my father passed to me an I have passed to my children. I came in for what I thought was a repair that would be covered by a letter that I had got for my throttle position sensor. The problem that I had with my truck was just as he letter stated. This was very dangerous as this happened on the highway in heavy traffic when my truck went into "reduced engine power". I was in the left hand lane and did not have enough power to get my truck off of the road and had to get out and push my truck off the road in the traffic. I was told by Larry that this problem was not covered by the condition described in the letter but he could fix it for $200.00. I explained to him that I had an extended coverage and he then returned and said it would be $100.00. He explained that this was a special price and I am glad that he was able to do this for me. But I still think this repair should have been completely covered by the letter. I have been in contact with GMC twice and expressed my problem with the service and am waiting for their response. I will think twice before returning to Moore should I need service in the future and I am not sure I will purchase the vehicle I was planning to buy from you next month for my daughter. I have lost some confidence in your ability to properly apply a repair to a known problem with the truck and to keep your loyal customers happy. Luke did a great job very knowledgable and friendly felt we were in good hands would recommend them to our friends.

The sales representative was very helpful. The finance officer was very shady in the loan application. I told him that I wanted to finance through another institution for a lower rate and payment. He said thats fine but to get the paper work to him within the week. When I tried to contact him I was being ignored. When I finally got in contact I was told to send the check. I overnighted it (I live in a different state) and over the weekend they mailed back my check along with the owners manual and spare keys. I was told, too bad, you need to call Ally and refinance. So I called the manager (Jackie Young) and he was just as shady and wasn't helpful at all and hung up on me because he didnt like the points I was making. I had to refinance through my bank, missed out the original rate and had to reapply. After weeks of headache I am finally done with all that.
