I bought a shower faucet set from Home Depot and paid to have it installed. D.W.Bahr is the plumber I was assigned. I called and scheduled the install. I had to wait 3 weeks and sit at the house for them. When the plumber arrived I was told they didn't install shower faucets only sink faucets and they left. When I called Bahr they told me I didn't pay enough for a shower faucet only the vanity faucet. I wouldn't recommend them. If you hire them make sure they repeat back to you exactly what they are to do!!! This just happened today now I have to start over!! I should have just done it myself!! read more

BAHR was contracted thru Home Depot to install my garbage disposal. I tried to buy the same make and model to make the swap out the easiest however the model was no longer made. I did purchase the same make. I assumed there would have to be some modifications in the pipe routing to install a different disposal and perhaps even a little extra cost to make that happen. When that proved to be the case the installers claimed they didn't have the basic plumbing supplies on their truck to re-route and modify the trap. They re-installed the old disposal and complained while doing so, even saying a fellow co worker would have stopped and left my home once he saw the piping didn't line up to the new disposal and left me with NO disposal at all. This company sucks and I would definitely not recommend them. This is an easy job that any plumber should be able to handle and anticipate some necessary changes to the pipes and/ or trap. read more

I called early this morning and had the pleasure of speaking with Erica, she was knowledgeable and so kind through the whole process, which made my husband and myself at ease, as we were not looking to replace a hot water heater the day before vacation. She set up the appointment and within the hour the installation guys were at the house. I wish I got the names of the installers, but they were efficient and respectful, and left the area clean after installation. June 2024 I purchased from another company and had Bahr as a 3rd party contractor install a hot water heater. 1st flag - I was told in the store that installation was a minimum amount only to be told by their contracted installers that was a mere fraction of my actual cost to install. I pushed through this shock and got my installation scheduled. I thought seamless process. It was installed and works fine. But in PGC MD you are required to get an inspection after doing such an installation. Flag 2. Much to my surprise, at the required county inspection by WSSC, the somewhat overly assertive WSSC inspector advised me that the installation should not have been done and the installers are well aware that for gas appliances there must be additional work in place to meet code. I seemingly was the ONLY person unaware of these regulations or need for additional repairs. Unfortunately the customer isn't informed or made aware at time of purchase (not told by company I purchased from) or during coordination/scheduling of installation (with their 3rd party plumbing company - Bahr). My observation and hopefully PSA for customers who too may find themselves in similar situation - it would be great if they shared in advance that their are county regulations that might impact the customer's installation when purchasing gas appliances. They are costly and you may or may not be able to get your new equipment approved for use through the county inspection process without the added costs to meet those requirements. Fortunately I was able to get my nightmare resolved within 2 weeks of purchase, installation, failed inspection, county repairs completed, and reinspection & passed status today. This went from seemingly an easy process to what could be equated to a cash cow grab by various entities involved in the overall process. I hope my review sheds some light on this process and will help others in PGC MD purchasing/installing gas appliances through 3rd party installers. read more

Bahr Plumbing installed a new water heater for us 9 years ago. It suddenly stopped heating. Not leaking at all, so we suspected it was the pilot light. Called them to see if someone could come look at it. The woman who answered the phone was condescending and said they don't do service calls on water heaters "that old", and told me the only she could do is call me back with an estimate for a new one. So we did some digging, found the manual, and re-lit the pilot ourselves. When we actually need to replace the one we have, we sure as hell won't be calling Bahr!! read more

During hot water heater install they dislodged a section of breaker switch that goes to hot water heater and I had no hot water since install. When I called she states her employee said my breaker box was broken when they arrived. Which isn't true. There is power to everything else but the hot water heater and sparks fly when I attempt to reset breaker because they knocked it out prior to heater install. The person on phone was rude told me I needed to call an electrician and hung up. She didn't even try to grasp the sequence of events. I got them through Home Depot to install hot water heater I purchased. I have never been called a liar by someone I am paying. Worse experience ever! They broke it and they should pay to fix it. read more

Wouldn't recommend this company !!!! They came to replace a water heater no leaking of water just figure after 10 yr it was time to replace . After they left water leaking from a valve they returned next day told me impossible they had nothing to do with the water leak offer me $450 to fix it . The worst. I had these guys install a water heater for me based on positive reviews. Fast forward a couple years the unit is leaking and not working. Had two other companies come out bc needed service right away. Was told by both that unit was improperly installed causing the leaks. Called Bahr and explained the situation. They didn't even want to come out for two weeks to even look at it. I threw a fit so they came out took pictures. Didn't even call me to review. I called them and was told this just happens and they're not at fault and won't help. Awful workmanship and awful customer service. Save your time and money. read more

I called on a Friday to make an appointment about a water heater with a leak. They said they would call me back. No call back. Tuesday morning I called again. No call back. Tuesday night the water heater has a big leak and I had water all over my basement. I called that night for emergency service. No call back. Called back 30 minutes later. No call back. I called back and hour and 30 minutes later. They said they wouldn't be coming out that night and that they would call me at 7 am the next morning. No call back. I called at 7:30. They said they might be able to come in two days. I practically had to beg them to replace my water heater that day. That's a one star experience. read more

This provider was recommend to me by Home Depot for toilet installation. They have the worse customer service. The staff answering the phone are rude and unprofessional. After dealing with the poor customer service, I cancelled the schedule appointment 5 days before the appointment. On the day that the appointment was originally scheduled, a staff member called me with with major attitude because they still had the appointment on their calendar. Blamed me for their mistake. I found the hot water heater I wanted at Home Depot at the price I wanted to pay. I called around to get quotes and most places either refused to pick up a heater from Home Depot and install it (instead overcharging me for their crappier unit) or wanted WAY too much. I found out these guys do the install for Home Depot, so I called them directly. They were very friendly throughout the entire process. The scheduling lady was nice and helped me determine whether I needed a standard or tall unit. The quoted price was the lowest I could find. On the install day, two guys showed up on the early end of the install time window. They were extremely friendly and efficient, did an excellent job, and even answered some other questions I had related to some other plumbing issues in my house. Really just an excellent experience all around. I would absolutely go with D.W. Bahr again. read more

Could not have asked for more! I was in need of a new water heater when mine decided to go out one Saturday afternoon. I called a few places and either no one was available or they wanted $3000 for the job. I learned the job could be done through Home Depot who contracts out to D.W. Bahr Plumbing. They gave me a quote over the phone that was significantly less than half of Michael and Son's $3000 quote. The plumber showed up on time and began right away. He was able to determine exactly what was needed and what needed replacing and was done in about 1.5 hours. He replaced the entire water heater, added a few parts and replaced many valves and fittings so I can pass the city inspection. They ultimately honored the original quote and I could not ask for more. If you are in need of a new water heater this is the company to call. No one in Baltimore is doing a better job than these guys! Highly recommend and plan to use for any future plumbing needs. read more

I was very pleased with the installation of my Rheem water heater. The plumbers, Bobby and Dave, were extremely polite and explained the entire installation process. Both were very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Scheduling the repair was fast and stress free. I spoke with Rita to set up my appointment. I called back the day before to confirm my appointment and was reassured by Rita that someone would be out between 10 and 2. The plumbers came at 10:30am, and were done within an hour and a half. Called for service, when I joint they soldered on install started to spray water all over the basement. Unfortunately, this was not noticed in time to prevent damage. Landlord Called service number, on call person said they would be out in the morning, I had to take an unpaid day off. But since I have no hot water, and a flooded basement to clean what choice did I have. I took the day off and waited. Mid-Morning, I get a call the company informing a plumber will be out tomorrow between 9 and 12. "WHAT? Tomorrow I was told today" " Sorry, that's the best we can do" "Your on call guy told me.." "Our on guy cannot and should not have told you that" "This is an emergency, I have no water, unpaid day off maybe your guy should have come out last night" "Your right he should have" I'm usually a polite person, I try to be but this is beyond insane, and I lost it. But was told I'll see what we can do, put on hold a few times, and still sorry tomorrow. Now I have to take a second day off, unpaid, and wait. I was then told I will have to call you back. No call back, and yet here I wait. A call back to their office yielded no more than we'll be there tomorrow, I'm sorry this is your "poor" instillation work and your telling me your sorry and have to wait two days. So what choice to I have then to sit here and wait. To me if you have a 24-hour service number, and I have a "situation" you came out and fix it, especially when one it's still under warranty and two it's your poor instillation that caused it. Run from these guys, that's all I can say. read more
