Fantastic!!!!!! Drove by and saw the sign. Turned around and ordered. I was wanting Loco moco. I let the very friendly lady at the register pick my options. ( fried rice, grilled onions, mushrooms) I picked egg over easy. This was the best Loco moco I have ever had. The gravy was tasty and tied everything together. "Delicious" !!!! Great ube pancakes. Didn't need any fruit or enhancement. Fluffy, hot, delicious with a bit of coconut flakes in them. Service was great and fast. The server had such an infectious smile! Lovely shaded tables to sit at. The English muffin sandwich with Portuguese sausage and side of corned beef hash were underwhelming. I wouldn't order these again. read more

Sisters and I vacayed on Kauai a couple of weeks back. During one of our leisurely day of exploring, we wanted breakfast. For a more local like experience, I searched for ube and ube waffle came up from the Da Reef Cafe. Perfect as it was in our way to the north side of the island. It was a rainy morning and we were lucky to grab the last spot. Customer service was so sweet. Love the ladies here. And so very helpful. Food delicious, especially the ube waffle. Fried was ono. Omelettes were good. And the best part, free live music. I guess. The musician in t-shirt, shirts and slippahs had a bar seat waiting for him right at the counter and he sat there and happily shared his talent with all the diners. And it was raining. Nice that the umbrellas were big enough to cover the four of us on the only outdoor patio dining. For sure I would come back. read more

We had breakfast here and absolutely loved it. They have a very nice patio with plenty of tables and umbrellas. We ordered a BLT, 2 Breakfast Be to Boxes and the veggie omelette. Everything was excellent especially the fried rice which is always my favorite. The staff are soooooo incredibly sweet, funny and friendly. Happa Haole here!! Today we went to try Da Reef Cafe because Kountry kitchen is closed on Tuesday's and boy am I glad we did!!! The biscuits and gravy was fire I mopped the whole plate!! The biscuits were fresh and super tasty and the chef definitely puts his heart into his craft! The sausage gravy is made from scratch and the flavor is amazing! I consider myself a biscuits and gravy connoisseur and I can tell you this is some of the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had! Da Reef Cafe is an order and takeout eatery. The ambiance is a grab and go. There is only outdoor seating. The service is very good, and the aunty taking the order is very nice and friendly. She makes you feel like you're at her home. The breakfast items we selected were excellent. Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection. Not a single item was overcooked. For the Breakfast Bento, the Portuguese sausage was slightly crisp on the outside, and very tender throughout. The scrambled eggs were soft and fluffy. The fried rice was tasty and flavorful. I really enjoyed this selection. The Açaí breakfast bowl was very refreshing with the various textures of crunch, creaminess, and fruit flavors. A very delicious and healthy breakfast. The corned beef omelette was the special for the day. The corned beef was NOT canned, but made with real corned beef and onions. Very delicious. Every item we ordered tasted great. The only comment that we had was with the Breakfast Bento. Even though the food was excellent, the quantity you get for the price did not match. The bento is small, and the price should match the quantity. If the items were put on a plate as in a restaurant, you would able to see the difference. That said, I would still recommend giving Da Reef Cafe a visit for breakfast. The service is great and aunty will make you feel at home. read more

The quality of the food does not justify the ridiculous prices. They want to up charge for everything including a little cheese on a tiny omelette. By the way when you order the Ube WaffleS (plural) it's really only one for $17. Oh and everything is served on a tiny paper plate. read more

Very good food but very small portions. I got a BLT with potatoes (actually just cut up fries) and an acai bowl. Both yummy but I wasn't even full after $30ish and eating them both. Also I paid a $1 extra for a 'scoop' of peanut butter on my bowl but it was actually a light peanut butter drizzle, a bit stingy. We also got their special- biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs. Again very good but tiny. Actually not even biscuitS and gravy because it was only 1 biscuit cut in half. Also drip coffee was $4.50 what a rip off. Cute outside eating area- shady and nice but keep in mind probably not the best if its raining. read more

Unfortunately I can't say my experience here was a good one. I had the spam and eggs with fried rice, no drink. About 3 hours after I got violently ill. (Which I don't have to describe for you to get the idea) It was only my second day of my vacation. I had only eaten one other thing that day which was a smoothie that my whole family had (no one got ill from) I remained ill for 4 days. I had to go to the emergency room. It pretty much ruined my whole trip. I would say personally be careful going to eat just anywhere. read more
