Tofu salad from the cold bar

Da Spot always hits The Spot for us. It's comfort food when we're in the mood for take out. But this is not your average take out. Every dish is exceptional! And they offer lots of different options. I love that they always have vegetarian and pescatarian dishes. Our go-to are the veggie curry and coconut fish plates. You order at the counter and get to pick an entree and a starch. The saffron rice is spot on! And the plate comes with a generous side of greens with your choice of their house-made dressings. You can also upgrade with salads from their cold bar. Speaking of cold bar, I usually grab a couple containers of salads for home lunches later in the week. I don't have to cook, and I like looking forward to what's in lunch bag. Plus it's all healthy eats so bonus that it's good for my body. Seriously you can't go wrong! Grab a couple sides while you're there. Prices are very reasonable and servings are generous. You always feel like you get your money's worth. And if you want something lighter, they make fresh and delicious smoothies. You can also eat there. They have a spacious area with abundant seating, so it's a great place for groups too. They do fabulous catering! We've enjoyed their food at several parties. Their catering menus are very extensive, so you can definitely find something for everyone in your Ohana. Vegan and gluten free options are available. They have set menus but can customize for your tastes and budget. Da Spot is a great neighborhood joint. Family-run and operated, so you're supporting small business. I'd highly recommend them for both take-out and catering. Try them out. You won't be disappointed!

Broke da mouth, not da wallet at Da Spot! A mini plate with generous portions for $9! A steal!! A mini plate comes with two scoops of rice, salad and an entree. Probably had about 5 pieces of chicken thighs. Definitely filling, feels like a regular sized plate anywhere else. Affordable, helps out the university students in the area. Many entrees with proteins choosing from chicken, tofu, fish and lamb. The mango salad dressing is good. You could also ask for hot sauce. The plates, açaí bowls and smoothies are also good! Friendly staff, many table seating areas and live music every Wednesday. I always leave satisfied!

Da Spot is still doing its thing--and doing it well. Yes, prices have gone up a bit (the mini is now $9), but honestly? Still a steal for what you get. Fresh, healthy ingredients, generous portions, and food that's clearly made with care and packed with flavor. Nothing bland, nothing skimpy. There are great vegetarian options, and everything tastes clean, satisfying, and thoughtfully put together. Bonus points for their smoothies: delicious, refreshing, and surprisingly well priced--perfect alongside a meal or on their own. The vibe is casual and easygoing with an open-air setup, whether you're grabbing takeout or hanging out at a table. Top it all off with friendly staff who keep things welcoming, and Da Spot remains a feel-good favorite that's absolutely worth the visit.

My co-worker introduced me to Da Spot a year ago and I was sold after the first time! I had seen them before, but I was skeptical to try any of their food. But omg, their food is delicious! I usually go between either the Chicken Parmesan or the Teri Chicken. The mini is a lot and will feed me at least 2 meals. The saffron rice is so yummy. The only downside is the parking. I sometimes get lucky parking on the street, but I did also park at Longs across the street a few times. Service is excellent and quick. They do have tables that you can sit at, but I've always done takeout.

Good size portions at a really good price! I got their chicken curry plate lunch, it was full of flavor and super satisfying. You definitely get your money's worth here. I like that they had a decent amount of salad with my lunch. Rice was cooked good. Service was quick and friendly. I like that they had tons of tables and seating (went around 1:30pm). Will be coming back again for sure!

Just ordered a plate for take out and while I was eating I found a dead roach in my rice... I've been eating at da spot for over 9 years.. first time this has happened to me. Horrible experience. Definitely not eating here anymore

Heard about this place for a long time, finally get to try it tonight. They do not have a parking lot, finding street parking is not that easy. They do have some tables and chairs for you to enjoy your food. The service is good, pretty busy place for dinner, I guess it is popular for local people around this area. The portion of food is very generous. I ordered a regular for $13. I cannot finish half of my plate and I am a growth male. My wife noticed the portion is huge, she ordered a mini, and she cannot finish half of it too. My dinner included rice, salad and the main which is herb coconut chicken. 6 big pieces of chicken for $13 bucks! I do not think you can find this deal anywhere in Honolulu. The taste is not like out of the world but good enough for me. The seating area is spacious. I will come back to try other dish but my wife said not for her. I would recommend you to go check it out because of the great price and huge portion of food.

Great place with amazing prices. They have a lot of tables inside, in a pretty large space away from the street. Sadly, at the time I stopped in, they weren't making sandwiches but only mains. I tried the lemon herb chicken and my husband the Moroccan chicken. Super tasty, plus tasty rice with sauce. The smoothies are also very unusual and tasty flavors, like Haupia and kiwi, or berry with grape juice. People were super nice.

Still good food after all these years. You can get lamb shank if you're lucky and they are serving it. It does cost more but totally worth it! Service is quick and they answer your questions. I love getting the baklava. Parking is difficult but there is a designated lot and street parking. Good place for food for a decent price!

Great spot with plenty of entrée combos to choose from, which made it easy to find something for everyone. The Thai Chicken was absolutely amazing--full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and just the right amount of heat. Nice portions, fast service, and good value. Definitely coming back to try more!

Not sure did not see a sign posted

Do they use nuts in most of the main dishes? I have a peanut/tree nut allergy. Coconut is okay though. :)

Not when I visited. They have a great variety of foods from all over the world. I have a nightshade allergy and I could choose from 2 entrees. They have salads of all sorts, too. All there food is pre-made so what they have is what they have.…

If we make a phone order or BiteSquad order to pick up are we allowed to park our car with the hazard on and run inside to grab the food?

Can at own risk... It's better to park across at long drugs and cross crosswalk only 2 to 5 minutes, or just pull to the free parking lot for Da Spot right around the corner.

The injeomi is basically a powdered peanut powder topped with red bean and a few mochi. The ice is light and fluffy and because the cafe is already air conditioned, the snow barely melted! Both are tasty but the toppings are on the skimpy side. There is a light dusting of the jeomi in the middle of the ice but just barely. I was hoping there would also be some more red bean and mochi too. Same with the mango one, the whip cream helps keep it all moist but it would also be nice to have more fruit in the center as there wasn't any. Otherwise Sulbing in Vancouver! Wasn't a huge fan of the whipped cream but the mango was pretty sweet. The mochi had a nice chewy and soft texture to it. Sadly, wasn't a fan of the regular red bean or ube mochi but did enjoy the texture. Went back a few days later at 10 and saw a full fridge of the mango mochi w/ lima bean. This is likely the only thing I'd go back for which was pretty good. A full 1/2 of a mango sits inside a bit of white bean paste wrapped in a soft and chewy mochi. Only thing that would've made this even better is if the mango we had would've been sweeter. Decent mango taste but understand there's no way to guarantee whether a mango is sweet or not. Still prefer the unique mochi flavors at Nishodo but quite enjoyed the texture or the mochi her at Kansai. Did notice the mochi here still has a good texture even the next day.
