What a terrific find! The food was delicious, and the service was so good that it felt like we were guests in someone's home.

If you can get a seat, this is some of the best breakfast in the area. The whole building is uniquely shaped like an igloo and it only gets better from there. Inside the menu you'll find pictures of locals along side some of the dishes they helped inspire. Everything is good because the cooks are amazing. You'll always get perfect eggs, fresh fruit and great coffee. The menu covers more than just breakfast but it is all you should order. Don't forget to check out the amazing homemade doughnuts. You'd be lucky to get one because they sell out fast. I wish this place was open later but they close at 3pm. If you're in the Bay, you'll regret not checking out this fine, independent, local establishment. read more

Great home-style cooking. Breakfast there is a challenge only because there is so much to choose from and it's all great. I don't even like donuts but noticed them on the menu.....HOMEMADE! Got a chocolate one and LOVED it! Heard the staff talking about a cake on the counter.....Banana Oatmeal. Took a slice home (very generous portion) for later and now I know why they were raving about it. It's a very comfortable, friendly place but be prepared to wait during tourist season but your patience will be rewarded with great food, big portions and friendly service. read more

I honestly don't know where to begin with this review.. this place used to be awesome when I was little, we'd always go there after soccer games. We were in the area and I convinced some Friends to go have lunch there. So we did and boy do I regret it... not only is it way over priced but the food quality is not good at all. I ordered grill cheese and soup.. almost $9, and it wasn't anything special. I always drink water with my meal and this was a no no at this restaurant! They use tap water right out of the faucet and it tastes horrible! It wouldn't hurt to install a water filter. Our server wasn't very friendly, she brought out our food and never bothered to check on us again... and here's the crappy part! They don't accept credit cards! What!????? I'm the type of person that never carries cash! Thank god a friend covered my lunch or else I would've had to walk to the gas station in the freezing cold to go use the ATM.... read more

Nice, solid breakfast. Quick service. Pancakes were a little eggy for me, but had delicious Door County cherries in the batter. Wish some of the cherries were served in a sauce on top. The donuts were amazing! A bit pricey... 40 bucks for three people to eat breakfast, but it is near Lake Geneva, after all. read more

Worst breakfast in Williams Bay. Service was fine but they give you iced down, watered down tomato juice. We ordered biscuits and gravy and a full order for 9 dollars only had 3 half biscuits (never saw this in my life) the gravy had cut up sausage links and zero taste. Close your doors now. I really appreciate the hard work that goes into having a small local family business and we love to support them. However after coming here several times and being greatly disappointed with the service I think I'm officially done dinning here. The staff doesn't smile, they only have conversations with their 'regulars' and apparently that never included us. When I asked the waitress what donuts they had available, she answered as she walked away from our table and didn't even bother to ask if I wanted to order one. We had to bug her for items we needed. We felt rushed when she brought our check without asking if we needed anything else. Meanwhile the staff started complaining that some of their customers left because they waited too long, you don't complaint about your customers in front of your customers! I'm sad to give such bad review, but it's not the first time we experience this and the lack of appreciation for your paying customers is disappointing. I read the reviews on this place so we had to try it. If you go on the weekend, go early as there will be a wait. It was a cute diner, and our wait was not bad. We sat in the 'igloo' and it did seem colder. Coffee was just okay. We did not get the fresh donuts everyone raves about, so that was disappointing. Our waitress was good, did her job but not above and beyond. When our food came, I have to say I was disappointed. My omelet was small and I was expecting more for the price. My son had a kids meal and was still hungry after eating it. I was not impressed at all. Just okay. There are much better breakfast places just a bit more of a drive, and honestly I will drive further instead of returning. read more

Good place to eat breakfast! The hostess is business like and very efficient! The decor was very cute and fun. Bacon lovers may not want to go here. They really over cook the bacon. That seems to be their style! Then they serve it lukewarm. We asked for new bacon and the new bacon came out the same way, really overdone! I stopped in this past Sunday morning to have a quick breakfast. It already had a good crowd at 9:00 and I had about a 10 minute wait. Once seated at the counter, I had a chance to look through a large selection of entrees and options. I had the Eggs Benedict with hash browns. One of the best I've had! The coffee was good too! Got here around 840 and was seated right away. Staff was super friendly. Time from when we ordered until we received our food: 4 minutes. Bring out the food as its ready so everything was hot. Eggs cooked to perfection. Swedish pancakes were delicious. Kept the great coffee flowing! The owner came by to check on us, make sure everything was to our satisfaction. LOL. not overly friendly but not rude. just not memorable. which is fine. it's a business I wasn't trying to make a new friend ;) The breakfast was perfect. despite what people think you CAN ruin breakfast. the bacon was generous & crispy - fresh! the eggs perfect. the hashbrowns cooked! everyone at my party was pleased. The place is nice and the service was fine, but the food lacked any sort of flavor. I got the biscuits and gravy with two eggs scrambled and two strips of bacon. The country gravy sauce was so bland and tasted like they mixed milk and flour together. Eggs had zero seasoning and somehow tasted stale. They tasted similar to McDonald's eggs how they are preformed garbage. Would never order food from here again. read more

After 25 years, we finally returned to Daddy Maxwell's. We were greeted as we were 25 years ago by Jannett. Believe it or not she remembered us with a huge hug and we talked for a while about the early days. The food and coffee were just as we remembered 25 years ago, (fabulous).
