Hands-down, THE best fried chicken I have ever had, and the stuffed shrimp benedict was all the reviews says it is. We have a party of 7 and everyone loved their food. We came here this morning while on vacay. We saw all the great reviews, so we had to give it a try. they were very welcoming and we were seated right away. We had the french toast (plain) and the chicken and waffles. Everything tasted fantastic! The servers were awesome at continually coming back to refill coffee and water. Our family had our first breakfast on Kauai at Daddy O's, after seeing favorable reviews from a Google search. We were not disappointed, and would highly recommend this place to others! Besides the fact that there was an eclectic mix of choices for breakfast, the service was fast and friendly. The four of us ranged from the stuffed French toast (you don't find that just anywhere)... to the ono omelette... to steak... to oxtail soup (!). This is a new place in town so my husband and I tried it out today. We each had a cheeseburger and fries. The food was disappointing. The burger was on a very small bun and the few fries that were given were very greasy. My husband had to get up to get a knife (not on on the table) to cut the burger in half and one small napkin wasn't enough to wipe the grease off my fingers. The owner who served us was friendly while taking the order. We would, however, have been better off going to eat at a fast food joint. My boyfriend, son and I went in for breakfast on fathers day. Our waitress, which I think was the owner of the restaurant, took our order but wasn't friendly about it. I ordered the blueberry cream cheese stuffed French toast, (which was really good), and my boyfriend ordered the loco moco which was good as well. So we got our food, and in the middle of eating, the waitress/owner told us to move because he had a big table waiting. Mind you they never had a reservation or anything, we were there way before them. I was so upset, the service there is just not professional at all. Discovered this place only because Hamura's had an hour wait...I was honestly a little skeptical when we sat down as the restaurant was empty, but was pleasantly surprised at how great this place was. The loco moco, short ribs, and especially the oxtail stew were awesome. We saw some locals eating macadamia nut pancakes and asked if we could order off menu as well. Also delicious. Good food, great service, good prices. I went here for breakfast with my two toddlers. It was a great experience. We had basic egg, meat, rice, pancake kind of breakfast, but it was good. There were lots of people working together to help and being friendly. I would like to go back to try something more interesting to eat, but I did see a lot of dishes other people were having and the plates looked good and people were happy. BROASTED Chicken.....never heard the term.......owner recommended and he was absolutely correct. Chicken was great. My friend TOM says to ask for a side of gravy.......not because the chicken needs gravy, it doesn't, TOM just liked the flavor combination of great chicken with great brown gravy :) My LOCO MOCO was outstnding.......I had the half portion and it was plenty. Best I have had on the island.......patty cooked perfectly and had good taste.......rice was absolutely perfect and gravy was tasty.......highly recommended. Lady's both had waffles and chicken and both said their dishes were very good. Top the good grub off with a very clean restaurant, family owned and operated with good friendly service. Been on the island all week - break breakfast I've had yet! Fluffy, light pancakes - and the Loco Moco is out of this world. Outstanding service, and the owner is a great guy as well. He gave me a taste of his famous fried chicken, and I ended up getting three more piece to go that I'll eat for lunch! Really good little restaurant in a nondescript strip center on Rice Street. Came herd on Saturday morning because of positive yelp reviews and was not disappointed! Friendly, quick service. When my husband asked what was the most popular breakfast, the server described the stuffed French toast. Then my husband asked about a dish that the next table was having; the server looked at us (obviously not native Hawaiians lol), and said it was oxtail soup and asked if we knew what that was. After he described it, my husband enthusiastically requested it, and the server smiled, nodded, and said "Good choice!" with obvious pleasure. But then I ruined it by asking for the local breakfast, which is 3 eggs, rice, toast or hash browns, pancakes, and a breakfast meat--I ordered it with no meat. He was so disappointed...it was really funny. Our food came out quickly, was delicious, and very reasonably priced at $31 before tip. Would definitely eat here again! (Maybe next time I'll order breakfast meat lol) read more

So, we didn't even know this place existed but it came highly recommended so we went for a late breakfast. The service was wonderful. I decided to order the oxtail soup and let me tell you, it was incredible. I will definitely be going back. My only dilemma will be whether I try another specialty dish or if I stick to the soup.
