I have NO idea how this place has anything more than 0-1 star. If I could I'd give it -5 stars. We just left after eating the worst breakfast we have ever had. I ordered a veggie benedict. The sauce? Umm was pretty much mustard not hollandaise. Yeah, mustard. My husband ordered the ono omelet w hash browns. I wish I had taken a picture of his plate. The browns were a teeny tiny pile of mushy greasy tablespoon of disgusting. His omelet looked dry and he barely choked it down. Worst wait staff. Clearly not very tourist friendly as we sat next to some locals who had HEAPS of food on their plate. My daughters French toast was ok to her but it's hard to mess up French toast. They charged us 5 extra dollars for her side of bacon. My stomach is currently rolling as I speed type this review. Funny thing is, on one of the menu items it read "raved about on Yelp" I just can't wrap my mind around that. Overpriced. Our waiter looked like he was annoyed we were even there. Just say no to this spot. We have NEVER not left a tip before ever. But, my husband left a 3 cent tip after dropping 50 dollars on 3 small breakfasts. We didn't even order coffee! read more

We walked by Daddy Os the night before when it was closed. We noticed a long line of chairs outside and mused that it must be pretty popular to justify such a large waiting area. Sure enough when we returned on Sunday morning around 8:30 and were told there was a 15 minute wait. But we stuck around and I'm glad we did. I had the broasted chicken and waffle with a couple of eggs. It was all delicious and the portions were huge. All around us people were hidden behind huge piles of food, breakfast burritos and towering stacks of pancakes. It seems like a family run place so the service was leisurely but attentive. Oh man, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place one afternoon. From the outside it is totally unassuming and I was so blown away by the quality of the food and the love that went into it. Total local spot. My boyfriend had an omelette which he totally loved! I had the oxtail soup because my co-worker recommended it and it is the best oxtail soup I have ever had. The ox-tail meat is left on the bones so there is some work required but the meat is so tender and delicious. Ok folks! I've got to tell you. This is place is a gem!!! Amazing food! I had the chili bowl with rice and the stuffed French toast. The chili was better than any other chili I've had in Hawaii! A local told us this is the spot for breakfast so we decided to check it out. Our group of 10 were seated right away on a Thursday about 9:15AM. The waiter was charming and fun to chat with. Food was very tasty and everyone in the group enjoyed their meal. The stuffed French toast was huge (2 people can share) and steak & eggs were a hit too. Owner commented they never received any such feedback about their service, Malia N. and Christina T. said similar things about the service, so never say never until you read all your reviews. Owner should think about cleaning up their act and provide good service whether your a tourist or local, and any race for that matter. We were here on vacation and we kept coming back to Daddy O' because the breakfast was pretty good. But the service was so-so, but the lady owner and old lady were extremely nice. The young waitress(daughter I believe) and old man owner didn't seem too nice to tourists, especially if you're NOT white...and if you were not a local. They were extremely nice to the locals...kind of ignored the non-white tourists. Kind of racist if you ask me. Only the lady owner came around and asked if we wanted refills so I would give all the tip to her if I could. So we only came back because of the food. 2 stars off for the service by the young waitress and the old man owner who seem to not be all that friendly toward non-white tourists. Well, second time to Daddy O's and I've still only tried the hamburger steak, lol! It's that good! This time I wised up and ordered it with an over-easy egg to make my own loco moco. They do have loco moco on the menu, but it doesn't come with mushrooms and onions, so I made my own hybrid. Let me tell you, the hamburger and gravy does not get better than this... I had to wait 4 months to eat it again, and it was worth the wait. I did try my friends kalbi the first time and that was good too. This is one of the best plate lunch places I have been to, and I've been to my fair share of them being born and raised on Oahu. The plan is to go to breakfast tomorrow and try their pancakes which the owners said was better than Liliha Bakery... I'll be the judge of that, lol. Ate here looking for a traditional American breakfast. But I didn't want breakfast so I had the fish and chips. It wasn't cheap at $17 but it was really good. Came here based on reviews. I pretty much go to places solely based on their reviews now. Went in and was greeted by other tourists who said the food was to die for. Perfect I thought. Got seated and noticed right away the service was not as great as other yelpers said. We never had a server ask us what we wanted to drink. Instead she came up asked what we wanted to eat. Ordered some orange juice and we literally were served a cup the size of a salt shaker with OJ. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was a disappointment. The "hash browns" that come with the meal was literally a patty you could have gotten at McDonald's. All in all it was a disappointing experience. I will not go back and don't recommend going there. Not a great experience. The hostess was very rude not only to us but to her staff that was trying to help seat people that were waiting unnecessarily as there were three or more tables available. When it came to ordering food, you cannot change it up by adding a side if it does not come with it.
