Delicious! I don't mind the lack of table-top grills at all, although it seems like they're planning on putting them in. There are several tables in the dining room, as well as a patio off Colorado. The menu at Dae Gee is fairly extensive, but not overwhelming. I went for the beef bee bim bap. It was enormous! Though equally flavorful. My husband and I also ordered a soup appetizer which, unfortunately, never came. He ordered the beef bulgogi. It was delicious as well, and came with several sides that were large enough for us both to sample. We didn't get to order any drinks (our choice, not forgotten about like the soup) but the bar looks large. We did get our own bottle of water to manage our own refills. Yay, Denver proper finally gets a Korean BBQ restaurant! The food is just as good as the location in Westminster. I recommend using their special hot sauce with your samgyupsal. Soooo tasty! You can also buy a bottle of it to take home. The banchan selection may be limited, but it's delicious and refillable. The restaurant is smallish, but nicely set up. They keep it very clean. There is parking next to Swing Thai, but not very many spaces. Also, being that this is located on Colorado Blvd., be prepared to deal with hellacious traffic trying to get here. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch before making a Trader Joes run. The menu is pretty typical of what you'll in most KBBQ places. We had the Kalbi, Bibimbap and a soon tofu which were all very good. The ribs were cooked in the back because they are replacing the table cook tops with real grills. One funny thing is the lighted speakers that sit on the far wall. Service was great and meat quality was pretty good... but unfortunately Korean BBQ is more than just those two things. Something was just lacking and for the price... I just expect a bit more. The side dishes were not that great and there were lots of components that were missing (ie stew option in your all you can eat) for $24 pp that is just a must imo. Usually you get some sesame oil, garlic, and peppers on the side but did not get any of those either. If a restaurant played Korean BBQ dress up, you would get Dae Gee Korean BBQ. It just felt very non authentic and got a very fusion-y vibe. If you go expecting to get authentic Korean bbq you will be a bit disappointed! read more

Very tasty Korean fare. I am not super familiar with Korean food so I was out of my element, but the staff is super friendly and helpful with the menu. The also give you a TON of food. Your dish comes with a bunch of appetizers which are all unique and different. They have a full bar and a big screen TV up on the wall behind it which I love. The only thing I didn't love was the loud Korean pop music blaring from their sterio the whole time. We went back to Dae Gee Korean BBQ for another try and it was a much better experience (not that the first was horrible but it felt a lot more organized and the food was very tasty). The prices were the same and again, not too outrageous for Korean food. We had a nice time and the food was great! Our server was very attentive and friendly. She made sure to check on us several times throughout our meal. We ordered the kalbi dolsot bi bim bop and it was delicious! We also ordered the chap chae again which was great! Overall, the food again, did not disappoint and was outstanding! I think what made this experience much better than the first was the improved service. They seemed much more organized and our server checked on us much more than the previous visit we had. Great banchan and soup! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After snowboarding all day and driving through the snow covered mountains my friends and I wanted some soup so found this was one of the highest rated places open in Denver. This place is a very similar dining experience and Korean food like LA (they even gave credit to the famous cut named 'LA Galbi'). My friends and I were all astonished by the delicious banchan and we actually finished 80% before our entrees even arrived. We got the soups and overall very well done. Everything was delicious and and it just kept coming. The Asian beers they have there too are great (I like lighter beers). My brother and his wife taught english in South Korea for a year. I was never able to visit them, but they always talk about Korean BBQ and have wanted to take my folks and I out forever. Well the whole family was out here just after the new year and we were able to squeeze the six of us in for dinner on a Tuesday night. I really had no idea what to expect and can say I was very satisfied. We all opted for the all you can eat option, and I can't understand why you would go for anything else. You can order as many of the side dishes as you like, and refills on all the meats except the steak I believe. For the six of us we had two grills going and I think I ate continually for about 45 minutes. Was totally worth it and I can't believe I waited so long to try this out. I really want to love this place bc it is the only Korean bbq near me where I don't have to drive to aurora, but the flavor just isn't there yet. I'm actually somewhat surprised it has so many 4 and 5 star rankings. It's mediocre at best, but I did go a few months back when they first opened, and I know restaurants can take a little while to work out the kinks. I had the la beef bulgogi and la galbee. The bulgogi was ok and the la galbee was rather tasty. However not so great as the meat was, all of the sides were as delicious as they should be. I will definitely go back once they get the hoods installed and can do all you can eat bbq and perhaps they'll have the kinks gone by then. I really hope they get their stuff together bc that drive to aurora after a long days work is not too pleasurable. One more note, and this in no way affected my review, but I have to note that it was kind of annoying not having the bbq hoods installed bc I ended up paying the same as if I were getting all you can eat, but I left a little hungry, and that was after stuffing my face with as many of those delicious free sides as possible. read more

Brought my parents in here for the first time the other day, on a whim. My parents tend to want to go to the same restaurants when they come visit me, the typical pizza, burgers, sandwiches etc. Somehow I convinced them to try Korean BBQ (of course the seller on this was *unlimited* meat that you cook yourself). I've had it before it China but it was on a gigantic scale (we're talking full huge walk around buffet with all meats, seafoods, veggies, sides, desserts)--perhaps that'll be Dae Gee Squared? We came in around 1:30 on a Monday so it was very quiet. We were seating at one of the grill tables and were attended to very well throughout our time. Unfortunately the grill wasn't as clean as my *very* OCD mother would have preferred, because she likes to put on her glasses and look for stuff. But it wasn't bad and knowing the heat was soon going to kill whatever was left on there was fine by me! Of course we ordered the unlimited bbq lunch and got started right away. My parents, who aren't the most adventurous, enjoyed chowing down on some of the sides while we waiting for the grill to heat up. They even enjoyed the Kim Chi which was a surprise. Once we got the meat going they got into it, we had great conversation and kept the food moving along. My dad even tried to use his chopsticks for as long as he could (not sure I've ever seen him use them), I did get them forks as a backup. Overall the meat was delicious, not a big fan of the pork belly, however that tri tip beef---yum. Yum. Yum. With some of the spicy sauce (which isn't even that spicy) and some rice. Yum. I also really loved the chicken. Overall, with the sauces and the different sides, the meat packed great flavor. By the end of it, the three of us were full on the initial plates of meat they brought to us and just a few refills of the some of the sides. Also....my parents loved it. My mom, got to cook meat as much as she liked it and my dad got to have different meats constantly thrown on his plate. The Korean BBQ is a great concept. Dinner just seems to flow with great conversation and food, by the end of it you're full and happy. Dae Gee does a great job of it and I'm excited to get more family members to join me! read more

The food was awesome! My boyfriend and I got the bibimbap in the hot stone bowl and we were blown away. However, the service is most certainly lacking. In the time that we were there, we had two servers, one for the first 40 minutes and another for the last 10 minutes. Our first server seemed bored and annoyed with us because it was the first time we had been there and took a little longer to decide. It was probably the end of his shift, and he was waiting for the second server to come in and let him take a break. To be fair though, there was only one other couple in the restaurant with us. And we get it, my boyfriend and I have worked in food service for a while, servers have bad days. But that's when you put on a fake smile, pretend to care, and make it through your shift. They kept asking "do you want anything else ?" and "do you want your check ?" The 5 of us got the all you can eat package , we should not be rushed to finish our food when we are just barely finished half the food on table. The food is GREAT. The $22 all you can eat BBQ special is worth the price and the flavors definitely deliver. You cook all the meat yourself and it makes for a fun and interactive evening. They also have several vegetarian/vegan options. Something for everyone :) The beer menu is fairly typical of any Colorado joint and they have several cocktails for $6-$7. Yep, you read that right. The only issue with this place is service. It took over 10 minutes for someone to notice that 4 of us were standing and waiting to be seated. We were fine waiting for a grill but we weren't even acknowledged until I went to the bar to get someone's attention. Also, they were painfully slow in bringing over all the condiments and sides to the BBQ. We constantly had to ask for things to be refilled/replaced. In a true all-you-can-eat, things should be replenished as soon as they are finished. I walk past this place nightly and it is always full (and rightfully so) so I think they should have a better handle on serving larger crowds. read more

Not really sure why this place doesn't have a solid 5 star review. I've been here multiple times and the food is incredible. I usually get the scallop entree, which comes out in a fajita style skillet. Absolutely delicious. Unlimited refills on a wide variety of sides. Dried seaweed and sweet mashed potato salad are our favorites. The price is great too. I've been to the one on Broadway as well, same great food but the atmosphere at this location is better. The good: service was great even when the entire restaurant was seated on a Friday night. Flavors were on point even though this location is brand new. The bill wasn't awful. The bad: table grills are forthcoming, and call me a jerk, but Korean BBQ isn't the same without "grilling your own" proteins. I've been to many a Korean BBQ restaurant; one in Maryland, one in San Francisco, one in Indianapolis. This is the only Korean place I've been to where I felt a little shortchanged on the quantity of each side dish provided. I'll definitely be back once the grills are installed, though. They have the best kimchee soup that I have stopped making my own and just head straight there when feeling under the weather. This place I think, is a rip off. I ordered the Dinner portion of the Dak bulgogi for $22. I felt a little extra hungry in the afternoon and felt it would be a good choice. What i got was about 6 ounces of half burnt dark meat chicken and couple cups of white rice. The rest of those little side platters that came with the dish i dont care much for. Didn't even eat the dish. And when i talked to the manager about it, she made it seem like i expect too much. Well excuse me but for $22 I can have a 12 ounce t-bone steak at a steakhouse! A dish like the one i received should cost no more than $10-$12 tops...especially if you use dark meat chicken which is cheaper than white meat chicken at the store. read more

Came here on a Wednesday night for dinner. We were seated promptly and it wasn't very busy. Had the all you can eat bbq and it was delicious. I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and we enjoyed cooking the meats on the grill. There were a ton of sides, rice, and the initial order of meat included all the meats so we didn't have to choose until our second round. I did find it a bit pricey compared to other Korean BBQ places. In addition, you are only allowed one order of the short ribs. My favorites were the short ribs, pork, and chicken. One of the top 3 Korean meals I've had. Excellent service, and even better food. I had the LA Galbee lunch special, and it was incredible! My brother got the bibimbap, which was not as flavorful, but my galbee was great! Also, unlimited rice and sides. All the sides (bhanchan?) were really good. My favorite were the kimchee, seaweed, and the pickled cucumbers. I could've eaten those all day. They have 3 types of sauce, and they were great too. The spicy could've been more Korean spicy, but its still good. I wish I lived in CO to eat here again, but guess this will give me a reason to come back to. Are here a few weeks ago enjoyed the flavors.. But for me the bulgogi was sweet, seemed very Americanized but then again that's what Americans like. Atmosphere was fun, fast paced and a little hip. BBQ sauce was really yummy and wanted to buy some but no mention of how to do that. Service was spot on just couldn't have be been better and all sides were free refill and super fabulous. I would suggest this to be a go-to Korean BBQ spot in Colorado to go to, but during the slow hours the staff can tend to ignore you especially if you sit at the back and they, I assume, talk amongst themselves in the kitchen area. The customer service is there, but I think they just need to be more attentive. The all-you-can-eat option is not too bad and I would come back again for it with some friends. Was not expecting to find decent Korean food in Denver. The restaurant has nice decor and they don't have bbqs at every table yet. I sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of soju and the unlimited BBQ. The pork belly and brisket were very good. Before tip it was around $35 which is what you would expect to pay in Little Seoul in Atlanta. The location is convenient to City Park, Denver Zoo, and the science museum. If you really want a treat get the all you can eat bbq and then try some alcoholic ice cream next door at Twisted Cream.
