Arrived close to 6pm on Saturday and it hadn't been busy yet, thank goodness. During our dinner, parties started coming in and it eventually became a full house. The restaurant isn't that big. Service is good and the sushi was fresh and very reasonably priced (specifically the nigiris that were advertised at 50% off). I'd recommend the following: marinated baby octopus, blue fin tuna nigiri, amberjack nigiri, salmon belly nigiri, yellowtail belly nigiri. I would not recommend the following: salmon skin salad, salmon skin hand roll (the salmon skin was not crunchy, as it should be); black Tiger shrimp nigiri (dry and lacking flavor); bluefin tuna toro sushi (what a disappointment, as this was more than triple the price of the blue fin tuna nigiri, but didn't taste as good); and the A5 Wagyu sushi (it wasn't bad, but wasn't worth the price as it wasn't as tender as I was hoping.. perhaps too cooked) I'd come back. This is by far the freshest, most tastiest sushi I ever had at a (non) fancy establishment. They don't skimp out on the fish. You get huge pieces of quality fish in the sushi and the hand-rolls are also jammed packed with meat. Some of our favorites were the bluefin tuna, blue crab, and jumbo scallops. They were all scrumptious and my mouth is watering just thinking about it again. Extra kudos to the staff who were friendly and super attentive. I really want to like you, Dai, but I would NOT recommend a combo plate here. I ordered a two item and both items were unfortunately, BELOW PAR. The tempura shrimp was VERY tiny and the BEEF TERI WAS LITERALLY INEDIBLE!!! So tough and grisly OMG! I had to spit it out in my napkin because I was unable to chew or swallow it politely. It's located in the same plaza as Target and Daiso and I'm always in this plaza, but had no idea it was here because it's on the side by the UPS. My friends wanted to come here because they have half off sushi (2 pieces) all day. I tried the Dai Sushi Set ($18.99), which comes with 7 pieces of sushi that's chef's choice, crab handroll, miso soup, and salad. I wasn't a big fan of the sushi. Maybe I came on an off day, but the rice was hard and the sushi wasn't the best. The crab handroll was also just imitation crab meat. However, the salad and miso soup were good. Had the opportunity to have dinner here the day before thanksgiving. It was really busy but the food was great and I thought it was a great value, especially the ala carte sushi which was half off. The only downside was that service was a little slow due to them being so busy, but I think it was due to it being the night before a holiday. I LOVE this place! They have a 50% off nigiri promotion since it's opened and we always love to order a lot from here! The sushi is a great quality for a medium price point type restaurant- so I'd categorize this as an occasional sushi date spot (but maybe not as high end like omakase). That being said I think they're the perfect middle ground when u do want great quality fish for a reasonable price while catching up with friends or on like a monthly date night! Service is pretty good but the wait can get decently long sometimes on high traffic times so would recommend going a bit early to do errands at target or something if you're gonna eat in that window hahah. What a great fine! Wonderful and attentive service. We ordered a bit of everything (to hedge) in case we didn't like something. As it turned out the sushi was REALLY good! I got amberjack, yellowfin belly, seabream and yellowfin tuna, it was so good I got a second order! They have miso cod , it was good - however I think next time I would just get more of their sushi because they were so good! The udon was so hot and yummy which was perfect for a cold evening. Dai Sushi is in the same plaza as Target, Chick-fil-A, Daiso, etc and next to The Joint Chiro on the east side of the plaza. No issues with parking. Came here for lunch and got the Bento Combo, Creamy Mentaiko Pasta, and 2 piece salmon sushi (not pictured). Everything was delicious! Fish was fresh, creamy pasta was full of flavor, and bento has additional sides which I really liked! The salad on the bento was exceptionally delicious. Apparently the salad dressing is house-made! Everything! Our favorite local Japanese haunt. It's literally around the corner from myself and my besties. Like, we literally could walk there. Food is GREAT! And so reasonably priced. Bento box combo with two items is fantastic at $18.00--choose two items, plus a GREAT spring mix salad with that famous creamy orange dressing that you can't find anywhere in the store, so I always want to order a gallon of it here to go. Also, a lot of sunomono--the cucumber salad slices marinated in rice wine vinegar, plus two pieces of fried tofu, rice, and the two entrée items you choose. I usually get the shrimp & veggie tempura along with teriyaki steak. I think I'm going to order it rare next time, only because I like medium rare and it's cooked more towards medium. You can also choose sashimi as a choice, sushi, teriyaki chicken, katsu, teriyaki salmon, and I think a few others. It's all SO delish! And more than enough food--I always have enough for take home leftovers for at least one meal the next day. Another thing I love about bento boxes is the bento box itself. I love the little compartments for each item because it's cute and reminds me of the old tv dinners that had that kind of tray that separated each item from the others. Also, if you order bento for delivery or take-out, it comes in the same kind of cute compartmentalized disposable tray. I kept mine the last time I ordered this, because I'm weird and it's so cute--LOL!--and I just like eating little servings of my meals in those little compartments. Guess it's nostalgia and reminds me of my childhood... XD There's also a sushi bar in here. It's fun to watch--our booth was across from it. I like their sashimi--my fave is the hamachi belly. The fish is very fresh. And our waitress, Trinity, is just a doll! So sweet and very informative about things. She even informed me as to where I could get this special coconut pudding called KOKONUT. It comes in clear plastic jars with a metal screw top, and I've been wanting to try it forever. She told me I could get it four stores down from there, so we went and got two jars afterwards. Trinity's truly a gem. Can't say enough good things about her. We stayed a little longer, because I had a Coke to finish, but she was fine with that. Very busy lady and super accommodating with everything. Thank you so much, Trinity! Oh yeah--and they deliver through DoorDash and Post Mates. Sometimes PostMates has a 50% off deal up to 15.00, so check if you want it delivered. Only thing is that I think it costs them a lot to deal with delivery services, so if you can, maybe just go there and eat. It's cute, quaint, quiet and very Japanese inside. And they're usually not super slammed to where the wait time is very long. Usually, we can get seated right away. It's a fairly cozy-sized place with both some tables and some booths.Or just go and order the takeout directly from them. The sushi here is amazing and super buttery. The quality of their fish is top grade. This is my second time here and it didn't disappoint. 3 of us came in around 6:15pm and were seated down almost immediately. The food was quite quite, the fish tasted fresh and the Chicken Karaage was fried very crispy and flavorful as it should be. The salmon and tuna were delicious. Edamame was great addition to the appetizers. I didn't get a change to try their uni pasta since it wasn't available. They kindly accommodated our party of 10 (although we did come in on a Tuesday at 4pm). Service was nice, and you order just by ticking off which pieces you wanted. You can get individual pieces of sushi or sashimi, or you can order their specialty rolls. I think all of it was good! Decent place. Nothing too crazy though. Edamame was good but personally would not order again because the portion was small. Two specialty rolls filled up me and my partner, so hopefully this information is helpful. The food is amazing and for the price it definitely worth it. I had a good experience with a korean server on Thursday, not sure what his name is but he did great. The food especially the sushi comes ready to eat and no extra sauce needed. The sashimi does come out to be more than expected at like $50 a set which is pricey compared to their menu but the price was not showing in the menu either but I'll give them a pass. Also i love the noise level, not too loud. I wish they have more smaller tables. Since the food is so good, i don't want to be picky and give less than 5 stars but the server can be improving. We started off with the eel and sea bream nigiri. I LOVE sea bream Literally so good. The eel was very melt in your mouth. Haven't had their rolls but nigiri is the way to go here. Don't expect anything super special. This place satisfies the craving when I want sushi for dinner without spending a lot or going fancy. It's more of a regular Monday-Wednesday night kind of dinner... the one where you can dress in leggings and a sweater.
