Stopped at this location for a snack, the cheese curds & pretzels were good. But the restaurant service was lacking. There was no one in the restaurant when we arrived, they did have a drive thru line however we stood at the counter for 10 plus minutes before one of the back of house food prep workers got someone to come out to take our order. A gentleman came out from the back as if we disturbed him from a break or something. We ordered and took a seat. While we sat at a table waiting for our food another gentleman entered the restaurant and he too waited at the counter for over 10 minutes before he was addressed. This happened to 2 other people while we waited for our food. Now our food was done and on the counter for who knows how long, before I got up to check if it was ready. The food wasnt brought to us, no number was called, just sat on the counter expected to know. There was a large spill to the right of the counter that stretched from the counter to the freezers. And instead of cleaning it - a sign was sat there, staff and customers walked through it and paid it no mind. This was quite a bit of water on the ground. It wasnt until an older employee came out from the back on his way home that he saw the puddle and got a mop and cleaned the area and properly placed the sign with minimal water and not a huge puddle on the floor. This employee deserves some recognition because he was the only one in the store that seemed to care at all about the customers or safety. Would not recommend this location. read more

It doesn't belong to the gentleman upstairs who blew his knee out and I was hoping I could take it up to him. He said, "No way. I can't afford food that expensive." Shoved my honey bbq chicken strips in a nugget box and didn't put my bread that comes with it my fries were put into a cup that they use for drinks as well. And than I had to turn back because they forgot my hamburger and when I went back to ask for my hamburger and showed the drive thru lady my receipt that I had paid for it she made a face and with a bad attitude went to get me my hamburger. I've never had good luck in the drive through at this location so I decided to go inside which also turned out to be a bad decision. I was the only one at the counter and waited ten minutes to even be acknowledged. I ordered a meal. The girl behind the counter immediately made my blizzard and set it out. My burger and fries were ready and set out by the kitchen in about ten minutes. There was nobody to be found for another ten minutes. Meanwhile three different customers came in and left because of not being helped. Once a human appeared behind the counter they gave me my food rudely and my blizzard had no top which ended up melting all over my cup holder. Last three experiences at empire location were negative. 1 - ordered a banana split blizzard. They literally handed me a cup of vanilla ice cream with some banana in it. I noticed before pulling away and they fixed it 2 - sat in line for 30m during open hours (was about 7pm). Saw staff inside. No answer at terminal so I left. There were about 8 more cars backed up behind me. I assumed they were very short staffed, but started to think they closed early. 3 - just got another banana split blizzard. Pulled in through the drive in and ordered a #4 just cheese and onion. Pulled out in under 5 minutes. Service was fast and food was super hot. No seasoning to the burger just really bland. Fries were golden and crispy but over salted. Moving through this town quickly there were not many fast food options worth going too and why I decided here. A pleasant surprise for The Hunny is how many Dairy Queens there are in the Beaver State. She grew up in Texas, where there's a DQ in every town. Few in the Land of Fruits and Nuts. We were driving for a few hours to get to a lake in Central Oregon (that's being literal, I didn't know which lake we'd camp at for the night), and because we'd probably get there late, I suggested that we find a DQ in Bend and eat there for dinner. Both she and the girl liked that idea. You don't go to Dairy Queen for the great food, although their ice cream works wonders in the hot weather on the dry side of the Cascades. Especially the Blizzards. We got our food, and I tell you, it certainly wasn't great food. The Hunny and I had burgers, the girl had chicken strips. It was, eh, okay and that's about it. The burger patties are thin, at least they taste good. Nothing really stands out as being better than average. At least it was priced low. Typical-looking fast food joint, clean. Customer service was good, which, from reading other reviews, is unusual at this restaurant. If all you want is grub, then Dairy Queen should work. Or there's their famous frozen desserts. To the business manager why don't you just close this store permanently I mean you clearly don't want the money and if this is a franchise it's ruining the name for the corporation. I have gone to this Dairy Queen many time in the last 2 years and the quality of the food, the quality of the staff, the uneven heating system, the spinning door of different staff, except for the cook, have demonstrated a drastic decline. today was particularly bad. I will not go there again. it is terribly apparent that there is no management supervision for staff or food quality. I dined inside, food was not served on a tray, but in a bag, and I had to politely request the sundae that was supposed to be part of the order and a tray. from the looks I received I might as well have been speaking a foreign language. from what I can observe, there is NO management on site. this location is a disgrace. if the owners cannot properly run this business then sell it to someone who can and do a quality job. in comparison the Dairy Queen in Sister Oregon is vastly better than this one. even the food is better. so don't bother with the pasty canned response t this review as it does not improve the situation. maybe corporate should be informed. Tried This place again, after many bad experiences we thought maybe something would change in time, we were wrong Waited in line 30 minutes because they could seemingly only handle one car at a time through the whole order, payment, handoff process. They kept us at the speaker for 10 minutes and kept saying one more minute please, after 10 minutes we asked again and it was only then that they told us their ice cream machine was not working, but they said they were figuring out, so we continue to wait, after another few minutes we explained that we were just gonna go to the other Dairy Queen across town. Wish they had been upfront from the beginning Very disappointed Went to the other Dairy Queen, they also had a long line, only waited 10 minutes total though, they actually spoke to us and we got our ice cream I think the empire location might need a new manager, there are obvious problems with management where as the other location is doing just fine. read more

I had a Blizzard for the first time. Not bad! I appreciate that the viscosity prevented anything from spilling when I accidentally knocked the cups over in the car. I liked my friend's Oreo Cheesecake flavor more than the Choco Brownie Extreme that I got, which was not nearly as chocolatey as I was expecting. Can't recommend DQ on Empire. We went at 6:15 tonight and the sign on the door said Lobby hours closing at 7 and drive thru closes at 8. We had to go thru drive thru because the lobby was closed early. We pulled up to drive thru and they said they can't take our order because they were closing. The car in front of us was served. If you can't seem to stay open, let everyone know the true hours so we do not waste our time. We won't be back. read more

DQ is one of my favorite burgers overall running. I got a double 1/4 cheeseburger on 4/18/22 around 1850 & it was the worst burger I have ever had! After two bites of the burger I got a weird taste in my mouth, and after looking at the meat in the burger it was obviously freezer burned, pale and smelly. I called DQ and talked to the manager, she got my name and number and said she would have someone get back to me but I never got a call & am very disappointed in the whole experience....
