#4 combo burger only cheese and onion
    Danny C.

Pulled in through the drive in and ordered a #4 just cheese and onion. Pulled out in under 5 minutes. Service was fast and food was super hot. No seasoning to the burger just really bland. Fries were golden and crispy but over salted. Moving through this town quickly there were not many fast food options worth going too and why I decided here. Probably wouldn't stop at a DQ again if this is what they are like all over

A pleasant surprise for The Hunny is how many Dairy Queens there are in the Beaver State. She grew up in Texas, where there's a DQ in every town. Few in the Land of Fruits and Nuts. We were driving for a few hours to get to a lake in Central Oregon (that's being literal, I didn't know which lake we'd camp at for the night), and because we'd probably get there late, I suggested that we find a DQ in Bend and eat there for dinner. Both she and the girl liked that idea. You don't go to Dairy Queen for the great food, although their ice cream works wonders in the hot weather on the dry side of the Cascades. Especially the Blizzards. We got our food, and I tell you, it certainly wasn't great food. The Hunny and I had burgers, the girl had chicken strips. It was, eh, okay and that's about it. The burger patties are thin, at least they taste good. Nothing really stands out as being better than average. At least it was priced low. Typical-looking fast food joint, clean. Customer service was good, which, from reading other reviews, is unusual at this restaurant. If all you want is grub, then Dairy Queen should work. Or there's their famous frozen desserts. It's there if you need it.

    Garbage can and floor..leaking everywhere.

So dirty inside, so slow, staff lacks any energy or motivation. Suggest avoiding. Slooooow...and the fries were Cool on top of it. Wish I were the exception, but 2 stars overall? Ouch!

Workers don't care! They all look like thugs!

If I can give these guys zero I would. We literally had to wait 45 minutes for out food. I would understand if there is a long line...but no line! Would never come back to this DQ. The concept of fast food is lost.

    Great Shakes.

Cheese curds were under cooked and cold, along with my burger. Couldn't even finish the burger because it was cold.

The cost of the food is pretty much the good thing. They make lots of mistakes. Check your food.

I would like to add that the Blizzards really need to be blended a little more thoroughly.

They keep things simple, offering just a handful of berry flavors made by blending creamy vanilla ice cream with real fruit instead of dozens of flavor options. We ordered the blueberry with the dairy vanilla base and the marionberry with the coconut-based vegan ice cream. I had the marionberry, and I was honestly blown away. It was incredibly creamy, packed with fresh berry flavor, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. My husband and my dad were just as impressed, and we all regretted ordering the small size because it was that good. One thing that really stood out was how thoughtful they were with the vegan option. They thoroughly cleaned the machine before making my coconut-based ice cream, which I really appreciated. It's a small detail that says a lot about how much they care. The person running the cart was very friendly and patient. If you're looking for a shop with 30+ flavors, this isn't it. They focus on doing a few flavors exceptionally well, and it absolutely pays off. We haven't stopped talking about this ice cream since our visit, and it's easily one of our favorite spots in Bend. We'll definitely be back!

The base gets blended with the fruit and voila, a newly made soft serve just for you. The regular sizes were large and easy to share. Ended up with two scoops in a cup--Ultraviolet (yep, that crazy purple one) and Salted Caramel. Price was $8.50, which is definitely on the higher side (especially when I know the same size goes for $7.50 in LA or even Yellowstone). Still, I can't complain--the flavors hit hard. Ultraviolet tasted like summer in a spoon--sweet, floral, slightly exotic. The salted caramel balanced it out with that creamy richness and just enough salty kick to keep it from being overly sweet. Together? Perfection. Service matters too. The girl at the counter was super sweet, quick, and clearly knew her stuff. That's the kind of energy you remember. There was also a guy behind the counter who looked like he could've helped earlier, but instead wandered a bit before starting a milkshake. Maybe that wasn't his role--but it stood out. The place itself? Classic Ben & Jerry's vibe--bright, fun, colorful. Outside seating with turquoise chairs gave me that relaxed, summer-night-in-town feel. Perfect spot to slow down and people-watch. So yeah, it's pricier than some spots, but when the ice cream is that good and the service leaves you smiling, it's 5 stars. I'd come back just for that Ultraviolet scoop.
