Return of the incompetence. Once again, when given an opportunity to show that they have improved they disappoint. Today they overfill the blizzard cups and didn't put lids on them. The overflowing and progressively melting ice cream spilled all over the cup holders and the sticky mess is a pain to clean up. Avoid this location at all costs. For some reason I thought I had been to this DQ and reviewed it but I had a bit of trouble getting into the parking lot off General Booth Blvd. so I don't think I've been here before... They have a dual drive-through but only one side was open when we visited last night. I can't say if this is due to COVID or if it's been that way for a while - still - the line was out into the larger parking lot for the Aldi and shopping center to the left of the DQ but it moved very quickly and the staff inside were churning out the blizzards and cool treats efficiently. I didn't really that DQ had a "Summer Series" of Blizzards until I saw the Piñata special last week on their social media. I also saw the Frosted Animal Cookie blizzard and knew I was going to have to come get that! We tried two of the summer flavors: Cotton Candy and Frosted Animal Cookie blizzards but saw several things on the menu that looked yummy. Tiramisu cake shake?! WTH is that?!? Our blizzards were ready in minutes and the fella at the window was very pleasant. Plenty of parking and they have a couple picnic tables outside if you wanna eat it here. There's also a little photo op blizzard sign for kids. All around - DQ gets a win on this visit. Note: Be sure you enter by the DQ sign if coming off General Booth toward Dam Neck Rd - the adjoining businesses on the right don't have access via their parking lot but you can sneak in by the Aldi from the entrance into the shopping center off Dam Neck too. read more

A lovely day.. what will make it better? Ice cream. Stopped at dq and waited in line instead of double drive thru. Only two people ahead of us but the wait seemed to drag on and on. The drive thru moved but walk up line was putting out one item. Wait two min. Another item. Families couldn't eat together as each item was not done at once. We counted 6 employees but somehow orders didn't fly out like the waterfront Dq. Our order was tasty. Order led orange Julius but I'm pretty sure we got an orange slush. I only stop here because it is so close to my house. Sad because you think who could screw up such an easy thing. Icecream. Right? Throughout the years we have lived here. They get my order right once in a while but for an over all it has not been good. One good thing was I go see me niece at elementary school for lunch. I am the cool aunt that brings ice cream. They were ignored, not just once but twice. I stepped up in let them get in front of us to order. Then it was our turn. My husband ordered soft serve dipped and I just ordered a soda. As people were getting their orders not a single order was 100% right. My husband got his ice cream. 3 more groups got their entire orders. And you guessed it. I was still waiting for my drink. I finally go up and show them my receipt. I finally got my drink and then it had very little ice. I drank a little and tossed the rest because it was warm. I definitely was not going to ask for another. This dairy queen is the worst and this is just one visit. My husband ordered a blizzard to go and it was melted like a drink. I have ordered pecan blizzard and obviously got peanuts. I did not eat much of it because it tasted so weird. My group all tried it because they could not believe some one could get it so wrong and they all agreed. It was really weird. The list goes on and on but I will end with this. You have to walk across the drive thru lane to get to the walk up, so be careful on your way back to your car. Staff was nice and fairly efficient. read more

Normally I have a grest experience here at this DQ. Tonight I Waited in the long drive thru line, 8 cars. Ordered a Cookie Dough Blizzard. Didn't notice until I drove off and tasted it that they gave me the wrong one, a Snickers Blizzard, YUCK Turned around and got in the walk up window line of 7 people. Yes, we gave you the wrong one. They took it and threw it away and made me the correct one. No refund or a free one on my next visit! Now if they don't hold it upside down when they give it to you you receive a free blizzard on your next visit. WOW No recept give so I can't do an online review and provide a code. read more

This is our local Dairy Queen and as such is the most convenient for myself and my family. To start it is easy to get in and out of right off General Booth. There are two drive-through windows however in most cases only one is open even with one open we have never had a problem or had to wait more than five minutes. This Dairy Queen has the new menu everything from burgers hotdogs pulled pork sandwiches and pretzel sticks to all the typical diary queen staples. Dairy Queen also is partnered with orange Julius so you can get those drinks as well We always go for the blizzard or a dipped Cone as I have with everything else at Dairy Queen you know what you get is it the best ice cream now but it's Don good at a great price take it vantage four stars read more

The history: I have been eating Dairy Queen Chocolate Dipped Cones since I was less than 10 years old. I am now 41. They costed about 49 cents back then. They cost more like $2.69 now. So the negatives: DQ used to be a full restaurant with great burgers and the etc. (In texas, burgers were called the "Hunger Buster", the "Belt Buster"), cool names like that. Whoever decided to kill that great burger/fries restaurant idea and have only Ice Cream and hot dogs? Shameful! (If you ever visit southeast TX, be sure to look up a full DQ restaurant, they still exist down there). But the Positives: DQ has endured for decades and I can still get that Chocolate Dipped Cone every once and again. As to this location: It is fast. I give them a 3 star. read more

This DQ is a drive-thru only. They also serve Orange Julius products now. I haven't tried any of those yet, but the blizzards here have always been on point. I had a dipped cone the other day. Blizzards have always been fine and this location is cheaper then the one a few miles away on the beach. Unfortunately they never repeat the order which leaves me nervous especially when I have to repeat myself multiple times when ordering. Also, for food they have a limited menu and no fries, just bags of chips. As for this recent visit, I just ordered two blizzards. I sat at the window for a minute or tried before they acknowledged me as they were trying to figure out what the blizzard sitting there was while digging through it with the spoon. She gave me one of my blizzard sand said she was just going to put a second cup over it since it had a hole in it. As I was waiting for my second blizzard she put one that has been sitting on the counter in the freezer under the counter. After a couple of minutes they finally made my second blizzard and when I got handed the carrier the first one was already melted completely on the top. Husband actually said it tasted like he was eating candy in a spoonful of milk. I've been here before when there was no line and it was fine, but this time when there was a line it was chaos inside it seemed. Only making part of the order, having orders lined up behind the current unfinished order, giving out melted blizzards because they didn't make the entire order, and being stressed because of it and letting your customer service slack. My husband loves snickers blizzards. For the past 4 -5 visits to this location they have been out of snickers. After figuring another product, again having a missing items. With the most recent visit on May 13th 3016 He tried again for a snickers blizzard. This time the told him they no longer offer that item along with a few others. So he drove( out of his way)to the oceanfront Dairy Queen and ordered a snickers blizzard with no issues. He decided he will no longer being dealing with the issues of dairy queen. We will be spending of money at Cold Stone Creamery. It maybe a little more expensive, but worth it for product and customer service. read more

Went here to get a cotton candy blizzard. They gave me vanilla ice cream in a blizzard cup with sprinkles in it instead of the cotton candy bits. Even if they are out of the cotton candy bits they should tell you so you can get something else or nothing at all because that would have been better than the vanilla ice cream with sprinkles( that tasted like garbage ) I just paid full blizzard price for. Had a blizzard with Sour ice cream in it tonight. It was really bad. Didn't taste it till I got home so through it out. Also, why does Dairy Queen use spoons that ARE NOT WRAPPED ???? And I was going in WHERE IT SAID ENTER and the drive through girl started freaking out and talking to me like I was stupid.
