The customer ahead of me ordered a Dilly Bar. "We out of those. ". I was next and ordered something with chocolate ice cream. "We're out of chocolate ice cream. Just moved to Show Low. We were excited that they have a Dairy Queen. Went there last night for the first time and the girl taking our order was disgustingly rude. I asked for a waffle bowl (which is on their online menu, see attached photo) and the girl literally said "what?!" And when I repeated it she literally laughed at us and said they don't have those. When I asked what do they have that's similar she couldn't even answer that and just kept making fun of us to her friends she works with. We were in Show Low for a record high temperature weekend - not what we were hoping for. So a trip to DQ was in order and this DQ earns 5 stars or more. There were several cars in the drive-thru because, well, it was so hot. So I went inside and there were 5 people in there working so hard to get the orders out (it looks like everyone ordered a Blizzard from the way they were working that machine). The person who took my order was friendly and efficient and my Blizzard was ready within a few minutes. The nice surprise is that a size M here is the same price as a M in Phoenix and Tucson, but in a L cup. Contacted Dairy Queen for an ice cream birthday cake for my son's birthday. These are his favorite. They were very sweet on the phone when I special ordered the cake 48 hours prior...but when we arrived they explained that there had been a situation and they didn't have any further explanation. Even though we showed up A hour later than we agreed, and they had my phone number- they didn't call or offer me any explanation. We waited while they finished making the cake- they didn't even offer us water or a soda. We just waited. When it was ready they brought it out and gave it to me. It was fine- not great. Not chilled so the icing mushed in the plastic. We asked if we should pay- the amazingly kind girl that worked there apologized again and charged me full price. She was told we had paid already. On a Monday evening at 5:30pm I pulled into the drive-thru and sat for almost 10 minutes and was never even greeted, so I pulled up front and saw they were actually open so I walked in and when all the staff (group of girls) came out from the back and I asked if they were open they just replied with a rude "yeah" to which I replied "oh, good I wasn't sure because I have been in the drive thru almost 10 minutes" to which I was blessed with 3 eye rolls and a " so do you want to order?".. then as I ordered again at 5:40 now, I was told they had no gravy.. they could not have been more rude! Just got out of work! Yelp and Google and Waze all show Dairy Queen open for business for another 40 min. Pulled up and at least 5 maybe 6 people/employees inside. Came to the drive up window and the girl that answered before opening the window "We're fuckin' closed!" When my husband asked about ordering after she opened the window, she stated, "sorry, since the school year started we close at 9 every night." My husband asked, "even on a Friday? You're closing at 9?" She replied with "yes, every night, this just started three nights ago!" She proceeded to shut the window and laugh to the other people/kids/employees in the restaurant. Great small town DQ. The service is always courteous and friendly. Their servings are much larger than what you would get at other locations. My brother always stops when he comes up from Phoenix because the servings give you so much more. Only downside is parking is tight and limited. Drive through can get long especially after a community event. read more

I stopped in today for a 3 piece chicken strip box (came in a bag), and 2 blizzards. When I went to order my iced tea (it's non-carbonated, I was told that this DQ no longer carries iced tea. Why not? It's inexpensive, easy to make, and easy to sell. For just pennies, you can make several gallons and they last 8 hours before you need to clean the container and make new tea. read more

We had not been to this Dairy Queen since last summer and didn't know it had been sold to new owners. After a few minutes of observation this became apparent. I walked in at about 4:30 p.m. and wanted to order chicken strips meal. Too bad they were out of chicken strips. So I ordered the cheeseburger meal and sat down to wait. While waiting I noticed how dirty this place has become. There was soda spilled on the drink lids. The toppings for the ice cream were all open and dripping with toppings. I could see hot fudge running down the side of that container. While I was there another customer returned with her blizzard and said the ice cream in it tasted funny. An employee checked under that ice cream machine to find some problem with it. This place needs a thorough cleaning and better management to order supplies. We won't be back. I really want to like this place like I did when the Holladay's owned it so I keep coming back hopeful but they let me down EVERY time. They constantly get my order wrong and when I go back to get what I ordered I get attitude from the employees. I can't quite figure out what's so hard about making what's on their menu. Caramel fudge cheesecake blizzard...sounds fairly simple to me...caramel, fudge and cheesecake. Where did the pecans come from? It's a damn good thing I don't have an allergy to nuts! If you don't want to remake it, make it right the first time! So I am an optimist. I ordered a sheet ice cream cake for mothers day and my birthday. I have already dealt with a couple of disappointing cakes so I did not want any writing on it. Just white boarder with a border down the center of the cake. Then just sprinkles on the border. They must have a restrictions on the sprinkles they use. I got very few on my cake. I am done. Had to repeat my order. Had to ask that the server put paid on the receipt, told them when I would pick it up, 5 days later. Of course, it was not ready. I do not get it. I would' ve given this a 5 star rating. I go at least 2x's a month because my kids enjoy a nice dessert after a meal. On 7/18/13 my kids wanted to stop in & have a treat. We ordered three lunch deals drove thru the drive thru. We were not even greeted and the young lady working seemed annoyed. Handed us our desserts and drinks without saying a word. I order the same thing every time, and yet every cashier rings it up differently resulting in varied price, prep, etc. When I mention it to supposed managers, they just shrug it off and say it's how I order it!! All I want is plain ice cream. Not a "plain" blizzard, if I wanted a blizzard I'd have them flavor it. Not a cone dumped into a bowl. Just a cup/dish/bowl of plain vanilla ice cream. Up until the new owners, I've always been served my ice cream in a regular sundae cup. At any location, and I've been all the way to the east coast several times.
