AYCE menu - wagyu uni mini hand rill
    Doriee L.

Came here with some friends this past Friday to give their AYCE a try. They recently switched from a la carte to AYCE and are fairly closed to where we live. Most of their recent AYCE reviews have been pretty positive and the menu items were pretty attractive. Unfortunately, the food itself did not leave a good impression. We all opted for their All Day Premium menu at $39.95 per person. With the All Day Premium menu, we have access to the whole menu. We ordered a variety of items, which included all the limited ones: halibut, ikura, uni, sweet shrimp, scallop, fatty tuna, salmon belly, yellowtail belly, angus beef carpaccio, angus beef tongue, wagyu yakitori, wagyu uni mini hand roll, miso black cod, wagyu nigiri, medai nigiri, and kanpachi nigiri. All of us also got a sashimi platter. The uni nigiri was incredibly tiny. Each nigiri only had one piece of uni on there. The uni itself was OK -- some pieces were fine but some were bitter. The ikura nigiri was also tiny, almost as though it was made for children but it tasted fine. The fatty tuna tasted like it was bought from the supermarket the previous day -- color was dull & no healthy shine to it. The best, by far, was the salmon belly. The angus beef carpaccio was a bit tough. The beef tongue was cut into small pieces and everyone had two pieces? The black cod was not that good -- tough and light in the marinade. They might have used regular cod instead of actual black cod for this. The best item was the wagyu yakitori cause it had great flavor and melted in your mouth. The sashimi platter had tuna, super white tuna (?), salmon, and albacore (?). It was covered in sauces and most of the fish had no flavor. The salmon had a tiny bit of flavor but that's about it. I had to get my friend to help me finish this cause I just could not do it. The sushi rice was on the harder end -- almost seemed like they didn't use enough water to cook the rice. There was a hint of vinegar taste in the rice but it definitely needed more. The fish was pretty badly sliced. Some slices were falling apart and they were all pretty thin. Overall, I don't think it was worth $40. The quality just wasn't there. There are so many places in the valley that can give way better quality for the cost. Their service was good though -- they were always ready to take more orders and our waters were refilled timely.

Patience is key with this place. I tried the All day Premium ayce and left super full. Fish is fresh and handroll is super good. The carpacio we ordered was super good too. I love the crunchyness of the soft shell crab and my husband loved the skewers. The other reviews were right about service. There was a super loud chef which makes us a little bit uncomfortable at first where he threw a fist to his colleague. But the server was super nice and attentive, so we let it slide. Mind you, we were here on Valentine's day and was left to dry waiting, so we come back on another day. Tbh, you get what you pay for, and we would come again.

Came here for dinner with friends for dinner on a recent Friday evening. We had recently saw that they had added/changed to an AYCE style vs their previous? concept of being an omakase (chef's choice) menu. There was not much reviews about the AYCE but we decided to try it anyway to see for ourselves We had all opted for the ALL DAY PREMIUM menu at $39.95 to have essentially the entire menu available to us to try with some limitations of things being avaiable 1 per person. As per usual, we'd try to order a good amount of the limited items to get those out of the way first before we start filling ourselves with other "unlimited" options. For the "limited" items, we had ordered all the items under the ALL DAY PREMIUM ONLY list of 9 different items. The items with A5 WAGYU such as the YAKITORI, NIGIRI, and UNI MINI HANDROLL were all melt-in-your-moth tender. The ANGUS items like BEEF CARPACCIO was chewy and swimming in whatever sauce they used. The BEEF TONGUE was thin and cut into very small pieces. Imagine slices from KBBQ but cut in half if not quarters. The MADAI and KANPACHI were ok. Didn't try any of the SPECIALIZING NAMI TEMAKI HAND ROLLS. Did try the SASHIMI PLATTER which includes 12 pieces (4 types of fish) that included salmon (best of the 4), tuna, super white tuna, and albacore? Super white tuna and albacore was covered/drenched in sauce, otherwise tasteless. Overall, the rice used in the nigiri were quite firm but not undercooked. Minimal to no vinegar flavor. Anything that included UNI or was just UNI were ridiculously small. The A5 WAGYU UNI MINI HANDROLL had MAYBE? a tongue of uni AT MOST. The limited UNI (sea urchin) nigiri definitely ONLY had 1 tongue on UNI. Some were ok, some were meh. Most of the nigiri itself were prepared/molded/shaped pretty badly. Fish were either too thin or falling apart. The AMAEBI (sweet shrimp) was limited 1 per son, also only 1 piece but probably due to its size (it was fairly large). Service was fairly attentive. Waters were filled regularly and they took orders here and there. Unfortunately, considering the quality they had seemed to be previously at, it was quite the drop. There are better options in the city for a lower price. Another friend had pointed out the cleanliness of the restaurant being very dirty in the general dining area up to the restroom. Another of our friends tried asking to see if they can change the nearby TV to a basketball game that was playing on a TV by the entrance but the waitress didn't know how to change it.

Very enjoyable experience once again. Yum yum yum. Service is spectacular. The quality of the AYCE is stellar. Reservations are now recommended. Invited friend to join, he was like, "Wow," amazing quality and friendly service. Good prices on bottles and draft beer. We'll be back again (and again!).

We visited Daisho for the AYCE experience and left full and satisfied, with a few mixed feelings. The food itself was fantastic--super fresh sashimi, great variety, and beautiful presentation. Every dish we tried was flavorful, especially the sashimi, I love a nice thick cut of sashimi. It's clear they put effort into the quality of the food. Besides sashimi, they also have wagyu and beef tongue. I love beef that melts in your mouth. Service-wise, it was a bit hit or miss. Some of the staff seemed a little disengaged, and the atmosphere felt a bit low-energy. Food also came out quite slowly, so be prepared to wait between orders. That said, when the dishes did arrive, they were well worth it. Just remember patience is key.

Oh, I so want to gatekeep this places, but as an elite yelper, I must share! The rice to quality fish was excellent. I don't want a lot of rice when I have my nigiri and Daisho delivered! The no rice rolls were good, the cucumber wrapping was quite refreshing. i loved the pure fish bowl, nothing like slices of sushi, included in the premium priced meals (highly recommended for the 5 bucks more price) As you can see from the photos we ate a lot of very enjoyable Japanese food. The shrimp tempura wasn't so good, not a tender flaky crunch, but everything else was excellent. The fried banana dessert was the delish!

We wanted to try this place before indulging in AYCE. I read some of the reviews, and I saw this on a Groupon deal, so I decided to try it. It was disappointing. Service: We arrived about 8:15 in the evening, and the restaurant wasn't busy. It took between 10-15 minutes to receive our waters, or even be greeted by anyone. We should have left. I think it was the manager who was serving us; he was not very friendly. When he brought the dishes to the table, he practically threw them on the table. Food: Mediocre at best. The agedashi tofu was okay; however, it was in a broth that seemed like they forgot to dilute, and it was pure soy sauce. The angus carpaccio was VERY stringy. The grilled salmon was okay, teriyaki sauce VERY salty. The sushi roll was overloaded with sauces on top, so the roll was falling apart. Calamari was good. Ambiance: Nice atmosphere. My family said not to leave a tip, it was so BAD (the service and the food). I left a 10% tip, and won't be returning.

We ordered a large sashimi platter to go for my Dad's birthday. Everything was very fresh tasting. My mom loved the fresh scallops. My dad loved the toro. Would get again for convenience and reliability.

Came here with friends for a late lunch. We really wanted a little of everything and Daisho was kind enough to let us order the dinner set for late lunch. Everything was cooked wonderfully and the sushi was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend! Also, they now have All you can eat sushi now (ayce).

We had such a great time here. Unassuming sushi place next to a Wendy's of all things. The food was fresh and fast. It wasn't very packed but I hope they do well as we cannot wait to come back. The cocktails are a steal so don't sleep on those!

I tried their recent promotion lunch special for $20 but they're lacking staff so the service is so slow. We went around 12:30 All the tables were full but there's only 2 servers. Basically 1 and a half because the manager is also the host and the cashier and running back and forth from kitchen to the front. The orders came in so slow that it's way past their 60 minute limited time. Which they don't have time to keep track of anyways. Another thing is the lunch special menu is very limited. The sushi rice falls apart, the fishes were kinda bland. Overall experience compared to other restaurants doing promo is subpar.

Food- was ok. Ordered over $200 for 2 and a toddler. 3 apps Tako wasabi- best I've had at a local spot. Tasted very clean 2 Rolls- good Sashimi platter :/ eh. Not a great variety Soba- for toddler. Didn't like it Service- good as well. Server was very attentive. Only had one more table besides ours. Ambiance- big, clean. Pretty empty. Wish the food was better. Nothing really stood out besides the Tako wasabi

I just discovered this place about six months ago, and now it's my favorite. My go-to was the Omakase sushi with 12 pieces of premium fish often kinds that I can't find at any other sushi restaurant. Last night, I was searching all over the menu for the Omakase, and I was a little disappointed to see that it was no longer on the menu. When I asked the staff about it, they said they just launched and all you can eat option with the same exact fish that I've been ordering on the Omakase menu. Plus, it was $20 cheaper for all you can eat! They all you can eat includes Wagyu. The Wagyu/Uni hand roll is a must try! In fact, all of the Wagyu choices are must tries (yes there's more than one!) King salmon is superb. Scallop/uni hand roll. Snow crab tempura (with real snow crab, not imitation ) Oh also, you can order sashimi as part of the all you can eat. The pieces are incredibly generous. AYCE for dinner was $39. I'm not sure how they're going make money ... It's worth over $60 imho.

Katsu Ya Ton Ton is excellent. I made plans to meet a friend for lunch and wanted to try this place. Easy access from Durango just North of Warm Springs on the West side of the street. Ample parking, but the place itself (you can see from the photos) isn't large and they don't take reservations. We aimed to be there for 12:30P lunch figuring we'd just be the lunch crowd. I arrived a little early and they were already full up! The place is popular and with good reason. I added our part of 2 to the list and we waited maybe 10 minutes. So cute and authentic inside. Tables turned over fairly quickly. The staff is super friendly and efficient. They were there to guide and help us with menu choices and offer recommendations. I went with the pork katsu set that included soup, rice, piles of shredded cabbage, my main pork cutlet, and some pickles. The cabbage and soup is AYCE which was a nice offering though I didn't need it. I also got salmon poke with yuzu which was tart and so fresh. Recommended. My lunch date order Katsu Chicken Curry. The food is outstanding. Every bite elicited a "Mmm" from me as the soup broth was deep and savory. The pork was perfectly cooked, crispy outside, juicy and tender on the inside. I love the shredded cabbage. Their Katsu sauce is delicious and you get to grind your own sesame seeds which impart a crazy delicious, nutty texture. The Katsu Chicken Curry was also excellent. I would struggle next time to pick one over the other. There are plenty of places to find Katsu but none compare to Katsu Ya Ton Ton for perfecting this really tasty dish. Highly recommended!
