I'm not one to eschew any diner options--there are too few left in the city in general--especially of the 24/7 variety, as Daisy's is. Any greasy spoon-type establishment is welcome in my world, and worth a visit. I used to come here a lot when I frequented some nearby bars, and they do a good job with diner staples (e.g., burgers). If you're more of a delivery person, it can be a little slow going here, and not always 100% accurate with the order--maybe not major issues, but just a lack of details (wrong toast or fries with eggs, for example). More than anything though--and I hate to compare--but quality is just not up to par with nearby on 7th Ave. Every time I'm drunk and nearby--or just thinking I can save a couple of bucks by ordering here--I wind up disappointed I didn't go to 7th Ave Diner & Donuts. Daisy's most promising quality is it's hours. After a long night you can rely on this diner to offer you hot breakfast or classic American dishes. However, aside from its convenient hours Daisy's the overall dinning experience was subpar. Came in with some friends for some post bar food. I ordered a grilled cheese with a side of curly fries. My friends ordered: a burger, a minestrone soup, and a burrito with just rice and beans on the inside. Our order took over forty minutes to get to our table. The food wasn't terrible but wasn't anything to rave about either. The most disappointing part was that the deli sandwiches and burgers do not come with fries or chips. I had to pay an additional four dollar for curly fries which definitely felt a little ridiculous to me. However, the worst part of the experience was getting the bill. The receipt was pretty much illegible and made it nearly impossible to decipher one order from the next. After a while we were able to read see the individual prices of our food only to realize we had been charged anywhere from 40 cents to a dollar extra on every order. When we told the waitress she said cross referenced the menu and took of the extra charges however it was definitely weird that they were there in the first place. The worst treatment because we are gay. My partner and I went to have lunch and we were refused a table. When we arrived we spoke to the host who said one minute while they cleaned a table. The head waiter came over looking at me up and down. He walked right past us and and greeted to a straight couple that came in after us. The head waiter sat them in the table that was being clean for us. When I asked the host what was happening and why we weren't sat at that table, he said I don't know and walked over to the head waiter. The head waiter mumbles derogatory somethings under his breath. I then asked him directly why weren't we sat at that table and he says, in a dismissive tone, I don't know what you are talking about walking past once again like we weren't welcome. never again will I go to Daisy's diner and if you're gay just be warned they may spit in your soup! read more

I'm sorry I was actually looking forward to eating here since I grew up in the neighborhood. I was visiting my mother and we decided to eat here. I was very disappointed. I ordered a bowl of chicken rice and grilled cheese, my soup was cold and had a funny taste to it. The grill cheese was very salty , cheese tasted funny. My mother ordered a Cubano sandwich and instead got a burger with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese! A Cubano sandwich is made of roast pork with ham and cheese and is flattened dow. My first discovery of Daisy's had to be at least over 5 years ago when my roommate and I were sitting on our living room floor drunk trying to figure out what to order and one of us pointed like an ape at the word 'disco fries'. Neither of us ever heard of this being from the mid-west. We ordered and I learned about the magic of artery-clogging French fries smothered in cheese and gravy. Pan down years down the line once in a blue moon I still find myself coming here with friends because it is one of the better diners I've been to, especially in Brooklyn. The décor is also very classic 1950s and kind of cute. Initially, I think our plan was to grab a couple of drinks at a cheaper bar in Brooklyn Friday night. Though, none of us had eaten anything. Namely, I don't think I had eaten anything since the morning and this was the first spot I could think of that was cheap off the top of my head. Also, it has EVERYTHING. I could look at the menu for about 100 days and still not know what to order. It largely explains also what I ordered: Pollo Mexicano Sandwich. You know what? It was pretty darn good. It came with a slab of avocado, spiced chicken with a little bit of cheddar and salsa. My other friend ordered a basic cheeseburger and mozzarella sticks and the third one of us again pulled a weird one with ordering Shrimp Scampi with rice instead of pasta. I don't get her crazy diner orders. Their pancakes sound really good. I think I maybe saw something about Sweet Potato pancakes and walnut pancakes and the optional addition of bacon into anything. While trying to avoid the unhealthy street food of the 5th Ave Street Fair we popped in Daisy's to get a real meal since it was right there. With all the commotion outside it was nice to sit and relax for a few. Open 24 hours a day we were greeted promptly. The menu was quite expansive which everything from breakfasts to salads to sandwiches and wraps to burgers to entire entrees. There was something for everyone. The space was kinda a hodgepod of design styles and the space was narrow, opening up wider in the back where there were additional seating. I would say it could use some decluttering and cleaning. The ladies room was a little funky but not filthy - just needed some attention and maintenance. I ordered a patty melt with grilled onions that was to come with a pickle and cole slaw side. Hubby got a wrap with the same sides. Our orders came out quickly. Hubby eyed my patty melt which did look more tantalizing then his ungrilled wrap (it was warmed, but could have been improved with a minute on the grill). The pickles didn't come out and we had to ask for them. My patty melt had excellent flavor but the onions were saturated in grease, so much so that I could only eat half my sandwich. It was grilled nicely. Had the onions not been so greasy it would have been a very good patty melt because the flavor was on point. Hubby thought his wrap was ok, and he did appreciate the portion size. The cole slaw was store bought, the runny kind, and served in a small paper cup. Overall the meal was no thrills and very affordable. Our total bill for the two meals was $20 before tip and the least expensive meal we ate in Brooklyn all weekend. A bus girl came by and keep conversing with us telling us about her home country. The interaction was nice. We sat in the first booth inside the door which I wouldn't recommend because it felt cramped with people coming in and out and a plant stand that was in the way of the door. She had to keep moving out of the way every time someone walked by. Later that evening I experienced the worst heartburn I've ever had. My bad for ordering such a greasy meal from a greasy spoon. Long time fixture in our neighborhood, we recently had a small party of 10 they seated us in the back comfortably and let us put several tables together so we could enjoy the company. Walking to sit in the back you can see items & food all over the floor, even under the tables hadn't been swept, the tables hadn't been cleaned, the place was filthy. With only 2 other customers there, once we got our food the waitress never came back to check on us until we were done eating. The scrambled eggs were not cooked thoroughly & there were egg shells in them. The environment, the food, & the service was unsatisfying. I order from Daisy's at least 2 a month and every time either from Seamless, Yelp, or their website and it's always perfect every time. They always pay attention to my instructions on my food, it's always on time (like Ja Rule) and it's always delicious. I usually get an omelet because it comes with potatoes and toast or the lumberjack pancakes with chocolate chip pancakes. I've had their sandwiches too, and they're big and flavorful! All of the food is pretty well-portioned. I hate when I order from a new place and the meal is teeny tiny and comes with one egg and one slice of bacon. A couple of my friends and I decided to go to Daisy's after a long day at the park. We were exhausted and Daisy's provided the perfect comfort food. We all got burgers. One got a cheeseburger, one got a veggie burger, and I got the one with the mushrooms, onions, and peppers. We were stuffed! Burgers were awesome! We also "beluxed" them so they came with coleslaw, lettuce, fries, a few other things, and the fries were so great. I'm somewhat of a french fries connoisseur and these fries were bangin. Service was good, but don't freak when you hear a loud rumble from underneath, it's only the F train Chev: I ordered the Belgium Waffles topped with bananas and whipped cream , It kicked my ass , fortunately I am not a diabetic otherwise i'ld be in a diabetic coma . We've been going to Daisy's for years. However, TVs have been popping up all over the place and eating there with kids has become challenging to focus on eating since your attention is constantly drawn to the TVs above you, across you, everywhere!! And most programs are NOT for kids. Not ideal. All we say now when we're there is " stop watching what's on TV, stop watching what's on TV! ". We're bummed out and considering finding another dîner that would be more kid friendly (at least have a section without TV). Also, since you're trying to decorate more and upgrade some of the space, PLEASE consider renovating the bathrooms!! Well overdue. read more

Loved this place when I was taken there by my Park Slope host. Didn't have to wait too long on a cold Sunday morning and just joined the queue beside the odd British phone box inside the diner. What is that about? I ordered eggs benedict, splashed some tabasco on it and gobbled it down with fresh juice. excellent. My goddaughter and I were able to meet together in person for the first time since Covid struck. My goddaughter lives in Harlem and I live in southwest Brooklyn. The kid was working today in Park Slope We are both fans of good old fashion diner food. We had an early dinner at Daisy's and it was excellent. Not only was the food made to perfection but the service, the lovely and kind service, and the old time atmosphere gave the two of us a chance to catch up in person in a diner booth. My aunt and I came here around 2 today after an event at Methodist Hospital. We had food at the event so I wasn't too hungry but since my aunt didn't eat much she was hungrier. After walking in the pouring rain to get here I wanted something hot. It was rather crowded up front but they had seats in the back. Once we were seated for a few minutes we ordered coffee. I looked at the menu and wanted to know what kind of soup was available when we were asked by another server. They had chicken noodle and New England clam chowder. I opted for a bowl of the chicken soup while my aunt ordered the Mexican omelette with French fries but told the server no bread. I was asked if I wanted my soup immediately or when my aunt was served. I was also asked if I would want the bread that would normally come with the omelette but I declined. Since I didn't want to be rude and had coffee in front of me I opted to wait. I think it was 10 minutes or so when our food was delivered. It was a big bowl of chicken noodle soup and decent sized omelette with fries. The soup was definitely homemade. You could tell from the shredded chicken mostly dark meat. There were carrots, celery, onions and egg noodles. It was well seasoned. My aunt enjoyed her omelette too. When we were ready my aunt signaled for the check. We left a decent tip. I don't know how I haven't reviewed Daisy's yet, we're there almost every weekend! It's classic diner comfort food at classic diner prices. Decor is a little all over the place... but honestly who cares? It's a diner. While I've never had a bad meal here (and I've had plenty), the service is what brings us back. Jennifer is so friendly and funny, and next time we're there I'll have to get the name of the busser. She never lets our coffee get too low. We've tried all the diners nearby and we always end up comparing them to Daisy's. read more
