Indescript small neighborhood breakfast joint is a cheap, but not good breakfast. Our bacon was thin and bad tasting. We turned down the plastic bottle of "orange juice." And while the toast seemed to have butter on it, we were brought "Churn Spread" when we asked for butter. The view of a pawn shop and Chinese restaurant combined with bright unnatural LED strip lighting make the atmosphere less than inviting. It does have patio seating which would be great if it didn't bound NW Highway. I hope the owners see this and make improvements. We love neighborhood joints like this, but we won't be coming back unless we hear things have changed. John's and Barbec's are a little farther away from us but serve a good breakfast in a better atmosphere for the same price. read more

This is a no-frills diner with many of the expected breakfast items. The wait staff was the highlight of our visit - both friendly and efficient. The food was edible, but really, really meh. The coffee was brown. That's about all I can say about it. Brown. Not even the slightest hint of flavor. Thankfully they serve it with a giant handful of half & half pods. It feels a bit mean spirited to rate this place only 2 stars since folks were friendly. So if you are going for the food - consider this a 2 star review. So we went to Dallas Diner for dinner. My son ordered the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast but only wanted the steak and gravy. He didn't want the eggs, toast/biscuit or hash browns that came with it but in place of those items, he wanted pancakes. I told the waitress they could charge us a bit extra for this. Imagine my surprise when my husband went to pay the bill... they charged us the entire amount for the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast and then charged us for a Pancake Breakfast. His whole meal was over 15.00. I find it hard to believe that they couldn't just swap the eggs/hashbrowns/toast with pancakes. Is their pancake batter made out of gold? Was my ask that much of a big deal? We used to eat here frequently however, we will not be back! read more

Our entire rating system from Google to Yelp to IMDb for movies has been compromised. There is no way these five star reviews are from authentic, disinterested, knowledgeable, and experienced people. I've been to many great diners around the country. This is not one of them. Everything seemed cheap, minimal, meager. The eggs were small. The hash brown serving was small. The "wheat" toast was light in color and light in weight, i.e. the least expensive brand available at your local grocery store. The food was at least 30% overpriced given the poor quality. The ladies working seemed pleasant, but they spilled coffee on my table twice, once partly staining a book I had, and when I asked for some butter, one of the ladies had to have another come translate. I suspect what keeps the place going is the Mexican food variations tailored to a particular market. Compared to high-speed diners in Philly, New York, throughout New England, and even places like Phoenix, Dallas Diner felt like a group of nice kids playing restaurant in their mother's kitchen. read more

Small, hole in the wall. It is what it is. A diner. It's not fancy, but it's perfectly tasty. I had a burger and the bread was homemade, the bacon was crispy, toppings were good. I would have liked the cheese to be more melty, but the taste was great. Fries were okay. All was hot. My cohort had breakfast and she said it was great. We shared the breakfast taco just to try it. All the staff was super friendly, the service was prompt, and the whole diner had a real cozy family feel. I would highly recommend Abuela's Eggs. Also good were the Big Man breakfast, hash browns, and croissant sandwich. The breakfast burrito and chimichanga also looked divine and I will try that next time.
