Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience at Dallas Precision Imports. I took my 2015 C300 Mercedes to them to diagnose a hesitating gear shift. They misdiagnosed the problem, insisted that I needed to replace a part, charged me $500, did not fix the problem and refused to even issue a partial refund. Rob called me and said I needed to have a part changed to fix the problem. I agreed and unfortunately this did not fix the problem. In fact, it made zero difference. When I took the Mercedes back to them, they agreed to take a second look and it soon became apparent that this was out of their wheelhouse and they did not have a clue why this problem was occurring. They should have been up front and more transparent about their capabilities with modern Mercedes transmissions and I would've gladly taken my car to elsewhere. Since Rob insisted that spending $500 to change a part would fix the problem, when it became apparent that diagnosis clearly was incorrect, Rob/Dallas Precision Imports should have done the right thing and issued at least a partial refund. I had an air conditioner repaired last year, it wasn't always blowing out of the drivers side. It was one of those that didn't happen all the time. I took it in and they changed out the thermostat. The problem happened again but not as often so I let it slide, I don't use the A/C that much, not a big deal. So I took my Camaro in for an alignment and an oil change just the other day. Well, I got it back and the indicator light came on and said "Low oil , add Oil soon." I just thought that the guy didn't reset the oil indicator when he changed the oil. And I just cleared it on my steering wheel. I had to get my car inspected and the guy AT THE INSPECTING STATION said that the indicator tells you if your car is low in oil, and that I should add some oil pretty quickly. I went back to Dallas Precision ( what an oxymoron ) Imports to have someone check it and all that was there was the desk kid and he knows nothing. I showed him that the indicator light was coming on and he said that the car could be leaking oil and that I shouldn't drive it too much. Genius! I went to Walmart and bought 4 quarts of oil and then went home and checked the oil gauge and sure enough it wasn't even registering. As I added each quart, I would check the gauge and it took 3 quarts before it registered on the dipstick. Yes, the 2016 Camaro SS takes 10 quarts of oil but don't you think that someone who works at a place called Dallas PRECISION Imports would know that and add that much oil? It make me wonder if I should take my car to someone who knows things about cars and see if the alignment was done properly. Very disappointed that I took my car there twice and both times they struck out and on a simple thing like an oil change. BEWARE! As I search for a knowledge and reliable mechanic. read more

This place has gone to shit. I had my clutch replaced here 3 years ago and it was great. This past year I had my car break down on my, so I took it here. It has become a terrible place, paid $300 in a diagnostics test for them to say there was a leak in my head gasket. This also had taken a WHOLE MONTH, for them to get my car.... It took them about 3 weeks to get to my car and fix it. Finally I was able to take it home, I noticed smoking about 20 mins after driving it off. I had NO issues before coming to this place and genuinely feel like these uneducated mechanics mess up my car. One of the people in the front office told me to go somewhere else because the mechanics that work that had drama and didn't know what they were talking about. Who says that? Lol. I wish I could leave this place 0 stars. Turns out I took it to a real mechanic and there happened to be a crack in my engine block due to overheating. These bozos ruined my engine and I ended up paying them for it. Lol GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Came into the store on July 17,2023 for an oil changed. They said I had a leak and on my 2018 mb 250c and it was going to cost 75K to fix it. It's a joke they don't even have a clue on what they are doing. They rip ppl off and talk to their customers like a dumb ass. They only good part was the front desk she was nice and patient. Ladies, in particular, do not go here, unless of course your husband, boyfriend, brother or dad calls. I attempted, twice, to get an estimate (recognizing it may change once there), on brakes for my X5. The first time, I called on 4/18 and was told I'd hear back the next day. Well...that came and went. I figured I'd give it another try and called again on 5/6, talking to Shelly and telling her about my first call and no call back. She "promised" I would hear back the next day. Well...it's a week later and nothing. I'm a native but what is it with Texas and mechanics or repair shops assuming that because we're female, we're not in tune with our vehicles and aren't worthy of informat? I miss my mechanic in another state. They wanted my business, called me back, and took plenty of money for my German vehicles. This is almost as bad as Classic. Michael, Kyle left the one and only voicemail last week. So your record of "voicemails" should be amended to voicemail. This was my first experience at DPI and THE BEST experience I've ever had with an auto repair shop. From the owner, Michael Hott, to Evan in admin, to highly skilled mechanics, Reynaldo and Gary ... every single person I encountered there, the customer service was EXCEPTIONAL! Regrettably, my vehicle suffered severe rodent damage during the cold weather months and of course, I was horrified!!! Michael calmly reassured me and put me at ease as he walked me through the process from assessment of the damage to contacting my insurance company. His communication was impeccable! He called and/or texted me updates daily keeping me informed every step of the way. Getting my car repaired and covered by my insurance company was rather seamless from start to finish, thanks to Michael. He even sent someone to pick me up when my car was repaired. The icing on the cake was when I accidentally left my reading glasses in their vehicle. Gary found them, took them out of the case and CLEANED THEM before returning to me!!! I hate taking my vehicles to auto shops. I'd rather google the repair and do it myself. But I've recently learned there are some repairs that I don't want to try myself. Like replacing a fuel pump that's located in the fuel tank. Probably not worth me making a stupid mistake and blowing up my house. For cases like these I have found an honest, reasonable mechanic. You can even email the owner for repair advice and he'll try to help you. I know they have Imports in their name but they work on all makes and models. These guys are great! We are from Virginia and visit our daughter fairly often. We have had to get vehicles looked at three times now. One was a check engine warning on our Mercedes-Benz, then a wiring short on our Explorer, then a regular service due on the Explorer. I hate going to auto shops I don't know. Brought my E60 535i (N54) to them, needing a waterpump and thermostat. They accurately diagnosed it quickly, had fair prices, did good work, and even pressure-tested the block to be sure it wasn't leaking from overheating. Second time, I needed a new driveshaft and Kyle was able to source one for a decent price and give me a solution that saved me money overall. Third time, upon picking my car up from them, the alternator gave out just 3 miles down the road. It had no warning signs, and I firmly believe it was just bad timing/luck - but when I called DPI back to let them know the car broke down right after picking it up from them, they sent a tow truck and got me taken care of the next day. Great service and repair shop. The guys gave me an accurate and fair price. Far better than what Mercedes wanted to charge. I brought in my 2008 Mercedes Benz E350 with a locked up engine. The guys got me a used engine with 1/3 of the miles I had on my car, got it in and installed with no hiccups or additional fees. They estimated 3 days for the repair and it was done before noon on the third day! Mycar honestly rides like its brand new now! After hearing the absolute worst sound in my car while driving to dinner to meet a friend I could barley eat cause I knew in my head that what I was hearing was very, very serious. So before I limped my favorite car home I let my buddy listen to this Dinosaur Screech under my hood. He knew it was not good also and told me I should go see his friend and get a diagnostic. My friend BTW built his first engine at 12, grew up around wrenches and motors for 15+ years and said "go to Dallas Precision Imports and talk to Gordy. He is in my opinion the best wrench he has ever seen in Dallas." So I gave him a call, frantic as I was cause I knew, having been a weekend mechanic for years and not afraid to get into repairs that this situation required an expert. After frantically telling Gordy my situation he IMMEDIATELY calmed me down by a few simple words and said to "bring it in and lets see what we have first." I feared the worst and is was very bad but not that bad as he explained. He was also dead on with the estimate and work needed and he also finished it quicker than estimated. Also the best part about the entire process was how he explained exactly what had happened and why in simple terms. He knows cars! Gordy's knowledge of vehicle operations (especially BMW's) is unreal! I thought my car was a lost cause and after talking to him he turned a dire situation into a very palpable one. It cost me $$ but It was well worth. My car now drives amazing and I smile every time I start it now and can't thank him enough cause I know it was fixed correctly the first time. I took my car to Dallas Precision Imports for a second opinion after another shop told me that the entire front end suspension and steering needed to be re-built at a cost of $3,600.00. After looking at my car the tech at Precision said that in his opinion there was some work that needed to be done but not all that the first shop suggested. They repaired my car for $1,530.64 and gave me a very generous veterans discount. I appreciated the fact that they did not criticize the first shop, they simply told me what needed to be done to put the car in safe drivable condition. Friendly, professional and honest folks. We purchased a used luxury car that needed a lot of work after a year of owning it. We have heard about Dallas Precision Imports' reputation and decided to try them with our other cars first. They are extremely busy, so getting in the same day is not possible. They are friendly and most importantly, honest. You don't ever feel like you're being taken in. We were taking our cars to a mechanic in Coppell for the past 10 years. The son took over the business from his dad and all of a sudden, we were being charged for "this" and "that". Ever since Gordy sold his half of this business, I would not use them. Customer service is horrible, phone person is very rude. I tried to get a quote for a repair and they told me they would have one out in the afternoon, the next day still no quote. This is to replace wheel bearings, not a complicated quote. I called LD Automotive and they had me on the phone for about 5 minutes and was able to give be a reasonable quote. I think I will go there. I took my BMW in for a general checkup as my warranty was ending and I wanted them to identify problems as the dealership will not proactively search for issues, only repair them. While I think the techs there are competent, customer service is lacking from everyone else. It all started with a phone call, I left a voicemail with my request for service and never received a return call. When I called and got a hold of someone they started taking my information then I was placed on hold, after a long wait, someone else picked up the phone and asked what I needed, I said I was speaking with someone already and their response was "oh, she just told me to pick up the phone", needless to say I had to repeat all the information again. So then I bring in the car at 7:30am as requested and that experience wasn't too bad, I was told the checkup should take about 3 hours. The best thing I can say about DPI is that they gave me a ride to my house, and back to get the car later that day. But I didn't get my car until 6:30pm. Why would it take over 9 hours to check out my car for a "general" checkup? I had to call 2-3 times towards the end of the day for a status check. I also had to provide a pickup address which is on my work order so that didn't make sense. When I got to the shop to get my car, the lady at the counter was not friendly, had no idea about me, my car, or what I wanted. After explaining, I was given the tech's report, I asked a question or two regarding if the tech said anything and her response was "who?" and followed that by "I'm not a mechanic". I finally got out the door ---then had to go back in because she forgot to give me the key to my car. Additionally, 2-3 times, even from the owner, I was told the price was $85, the bill was $90. Not that I'm concerned with $5 but this goes to show that there's inconsistency in information being provided. The lady on the phone I talked to just said BMWs are more. No tax was charge though, which is nice. There are other little details I could include but this is the jist of it. Despite it's good reputation online, I would not recommend going to DPI if you want to be understood or treated like your business is valued. read more

Yes, a car repair center that is Honest. I was told about this place a few years ago, I drove by on day to just check it out. It sure wasn't fancy but I noticed a couple of nice big potted plants our front. It sounds a bit silly but that small touch is what made me give them a try. It made me think a woman might be around to give her touch to a rough mechanic environment and that details were important and taken care of...the plants were green and hardy! Now I have been a customer for over 2 yrs and for instance on the last visit I took in a BMW with an ABS warning light on. They see the code is for a faulty ABS pump, so they take it apart and retest the part out of the car and surprisingly it works. So Gordy says he is not going to charge me for a new part when the old one is working, so he puts it back in and I just get a minimal labor change. He warns it may not last long...I actually get 9 months before the warning light is on again. But now I have a plan, the new part was $1100 but I went on Ebay and found a used one for $150 and Gordy put it on, again for a more than fair labor charge. I felt like I had won over the high the price of BMWs and repair. Who does it like that?? No one I have found before. Thank you DPI! The battery just went out in the Mercedes....guess whom I'm about to call? read more

The mechanic went over my car with a " Fine tooth comb " and found some problems that I was unaware of that could have potentially cost me hundreds more to repair.
