I already paid .75 additional for oat milk so my drink came out to $10.25 which is a little insane. It was good, and it was smooth and I totally understand why people like this drink. But overall still a nice cup of creamy coffee that isn't too sweet. You may have to wait a little bit because they are always crowded but they do try to have the drinks come out promptly. DAMO has been on my list for a while and met my expectations when I visited. This is located in a shared plaza with parking. I was fortunate to find a spot at 9 am. The store was moderately busy but got severely busy by noon. I was catching up with two other friends at one of the tables. We felt comfortable as a small group, but I can see it's not ideal for larger groups. I first ordered the hojicha epinspanner and got it within 5 minutes. It was not too sweet and it was good. We stayed long enough for me to get a second order, which was the strawberry matcha latte with cream top. It was definitely on the sweeter side and a lot of fresh strawberry pieces. I went on a Saturday afternoon and this place was SO SO busy! There was a really long line almost going out the door, but I decided to wait since I've been wanting to try this place forever. I ordered the hojicha einspanner and my friends ordered the matcha einspanner and chocolate forest. The matchas were AMAZING- the taste, quality, and milk to tea ratio was an easy 10/10. The hojicha is made with water base, not milk- therefore the taste wasn't as creamy as I would've liked. First time visiting DAMO, as I have heard good things about this place. I went on a Saturday around 5pm, expected the wait to be long but was pleasantly surprised to see the line moving very quickly, despite the line out the door. The interior is pretty and well-lit with some places to sit, but it can be crowded and feel tight when there are lots of people there. I was able to find a parking spot as well, with some others also available so that was a plus for it being in ktown. As for the drinks, these are what we ordered. Hojiicha Einspener (5/5): I usually get my drinks less sweet, but this drink was perfectly sweet and creamy, coming from the hojicha flavored foam. I was hesitant on getting this drink because I didn't know if I liked the description of the drink. I ended up loving it and this is my favorite of the 2 I got. Strawberry Matcha (4/5): I really like the strawberry part as it wasn't too sweet and you can tell it's made in house. However, the matcha just wasn't strong enough in flavor for me. Their top three favorites seem to be the Matcha Einspanner, Hojicha Einspanner, and Strawberry Matcha Latte. They also offer some cute looking desserts like mugwort rice cake waffle and signature da-gwa (assorted Korean traditional snacks). *** Matcha Einsplanner (matcha latte + white cream $7.50): The cream top was surprisingly good - not overly sweet and balanced out perfectly when mixed with the matcha. No question it was a S-tier drink. Almond croissant ($6.50): The staff offered to warm it up and I said yes. They use quality matcha that has caffeine as well. A lot of people tend to work from there or study from there on the weekdays so it can get packed. Damo has a special place in my heart as it was the first establishment I went to after getting the keys to my new apartment- my first ktown coffee spot and a symbol of many more food adventures to come for me in LA. I've gone to Damo a handful of times already for that afternoon dessert coffee/matcha since it's so dangerously close. I am a morning hot black coffee girl to start the day, so I usually don't come here until later. Small but cute and minimal little shop. There are about five-ish tables to get some work done at, and some high bar tables and seats at the counter. It's constantly busy and could be distracting if you need to work and focus for more than an hour. I've tried a bunch of different drinks already and they are all good, but I default to their matcha einspener. Their drinks are not too sweet, unlike some other places I've tried around, so that's def a plus. The ginger matcha interested me and it was good, but I wished the ginger had a stronger kick.
