I visited Dr. Shiri's office today after I chipped my upper molar last night. I saw overall great reviews plus his office is not far from where I live. I called his office this morning and amazingly they were able to schedule me to come in the same day. So, parking was not great. When I made the appointment I also asked about parking. The staff encouraged me to park on the street 2 hours free but they could also validate for 1 hour, which I had to do after driving around the building for 10 minutes. The staff were courteous! Dr. Shiri himself was very down to earth. He examined my teeth and provided recommendation. Then the billing staff came and went over the cost after checking my insurance, before the procedure which was great to know my copay amount beforehand. I had tooth bonding for my cracked tooth, which was painless and fast. In the end, Dr. Shiri also filed my front teeth for free!! The billing staff also honored Yelp offer. It was a very pleasant experience. I'd definitely come back and tell my friends who need a dentist to look no further. read more

I'm hesitant to write this review because I don't want the secret to get out. I found Dr. Shiri on Yelp two years ago when I had to have an emergency wisdom tooth extraction. Great work, great staff, top of line equipment and on time! Went to him because he was highly recommended. I've gone three times within the past three months for different issues. The first was for my jaw clicking which i have been diagnosed with moderate TMJ. The second was for a cleaning and to fix a fill. They took great care and were conscious about my TMJ. My jaw has always locked with other dentists. Dr. Shiri and his hygenist took measures to make sure my jaw didn't lock. The third was for pulling my wisdom teeth. For some reason, the procedure scared me more than when I had to have two foot surgeries. He took care of my anxiety and things couldn't have gone any smoother. I saw Dr. Shiri in 2012 and was told that I had a problem grinding my teeth at night which has ultimately worn away my teeth enough to require them all to be replaced. For $25,000.00 he agreed to provide and install cosmetic crowns and veneers on all my teeth - commonly known as a full mouth re-hab. This process involves grinding my original teeth down to be used as posts for the new cosmetic crowns that would be installed onto the posts. This is a multi-visit procedure, involving wearing temporary crowns until my permanent crowns arrive for final installation. In my initial phase of wearing temporary crowns, I developed a severe pain in my teeth, and made an emergency call to Dr. Shiri. He referred me to another dentist (I'll call him "Dr. J" from this point on) for an immediate root canal, and told me that he would call Dr. J to coordinate the appointment and speak with him about my condition. I received my root canal and some relief --- and a bill for 2k from Dr. J. I asked Dr. Shiri why would I suddenly need a root canal when I am in mid-procedure with him, and he told me that sometimes "nerves just get irritated"...... which irritated me, because that nerve was fine before Dr. Shiri began poking around, and now I'm on the hook with another dentist for 2,000.00. A few days later, Dr. Shiri called me with some good news - my permanent crowns came in and he wanted to install them right away. So, I went to Dr. Shiri and had the permanent crowns installed. A day after the crown installation, Dr. J calls me, and says he wants me to return so that he can "finish up the root canal" ... what? I informed him that Dr. Shiri just installed my permanent crowns, and that he had installed a permanent crown on the root canal tooth, which shocked him (and me) --- Dr. J then explained to me that he wasn't finished working on that tooth --- he had simply packed the tooth nerve with medication to heal the problem, and that the tooth needed to be sealed properly before placing a crown on it once the infection had subsided.... Dr. Shiri had just installed my new crown on an open tooth receiving a root canal. Clearly, Dr. Shiri wasn't orchestrating this procedure well at all, and red flags were flying in my head as I lost my confidence in Dr. Shiri.... but he's got my crowns and I've got a head full of ground-down teeth, so I continued the course with him. I noticed from that point on that Dr. Shiri seemed to be very hurried to get my job done and out of his office - I felt that he really rushed my job to its completion after the embarrassing mix-up with the crown/root canal incident. Fast forward to 2015..... I've got a new dentist. After a thorough examination, he explained to me that I have a mouthful of serious problems. I was told that when Dr. Shiri installed the crowns, he didn't fit the crowns properly at the gum line resulting in numerous margins and open contacts, which allowed food and debris to become impacted between the tooth post and the crown - my teeth were now decaying inside the crowns. In a report detailed by 3 independent dentists, I was told that 14 crowns That were installed by Dr. Shiri would need to be removed and completely re-done, and that I would lose at least 3 teeth that are too decayed to save (that are currently "posts" - now requiring full implants to repair the situation) and require root canals on several others. Additionally, several of the veneers had cracked and delaminated due to "over preparation" of the tooth during installation by Dr. Shiri. I can't believe I paid this man to injure me in this way. To date, I have needed 3 teeth extracted, received 6 root canals, and received 3 implants - and still have 6 more crowns that need to be removed, tooth inspected / analyzed and repair work done. I had one of the crowns installed by Dr. Shiri split in half the other day - that will require another repair. I have spent nights nursing abscesses,infections, and most of 2016 sitting in periodontist/ endodontist / dentist offices receiving dental repairs and have currently spent over 30K to repair Dr. Shiri's work. I went to Dr. Shiri's office to discuss the situation with him, and he could not explain why my full mouth rehab had such tragic consequences - I know why the results were so bad, and showed him written testimony/reports/and xrays from 3 other dentists that detail the problems that Dr. Shiri created, but Dr. Shiri wouldn't agree to help correct the issues. My current dentist told me that he has never seen such a level of egregious negligence performed by another dentist. read more

On April 15, 2016 I was talked into purchasing braces,my credit care card was charged for the full amount when just x-rays were taken that day. Two months later I called and left a message regarding when I was supposed to come back in, nothing no return call. Made another call a few weeks later again nothing. In September 2016 I called my credit care card and explained the situation and told them that I was going to dispute the amount. Within 24 hours Dr. Shiri 's office called me! Wow it took disputing the charges to get them to call me back. After eight years of being his patient, knowing that the office staff did not do their job, I am not willing to return to his office ever again. I don't trust him as a doctor with my dental health! The doctor cares more about his pocketbook then he is about the patient's well-being! Fast forward February 2017, without notice I got a collection agency letter demanding payment for the $500 on x-rays that I would not have purchased if it would not have been for the whole package of the braces! I simply do not trust him and it is my right not to want to go back to his office ever again.He still demanding his $500 and my credit has been ruined!!! Honestly you know that you and your office kept my money for six months, changing my mind is not the question trusting you and or your office staff is! It's bad enough that you lost a patient On my credit report it reflects that I was in the default of payment on April of 2016 when indeed you got full payment! I disputed the charges after not hearing a word from your office for 6 MONTHS!! When I disputed it is when I heard from your office. You're a greedy man and I have a friend that I recommended to you many years ago that feels the same way and I am encouraging her to file complaints against you as well. And again I emphasize that giving me several options after six months of paying you in full and not hearing a word from you is unacceptable on ethical and wrong! I don't want to be your patient anymore, I have found another dentist and I want my credit fixed immediately! read more

I hopped out of the bed this morning actually excited to get my cavity filled (nvm the fact that I was very disappointed inn myself for getting a cavity after years of avoiding one!) - that is solely because of my relationship and experiences with Dr. Shiri and his great team. I've been coming to Dr. Shiri for 6 years or so - I credit Dr. Shiri and his team with helping me get over my long-held fear of dentist offices. I get my cleanings here, have had cavities filled and got veneers that I'm obsessed with (very natural looking and I'm complimented on my smile daily). I also credit Dr. Shiri with making me much more interested in my overall dental health. He's also just awesomE and a really nice person that puts me completely ease and never makes me feel guilty for my dental choices - he just lays out the facts without judgment. ALERT: Danny's office has moved from the little place he had to a much bigger space in a building right across the street. The office looks beautiful, and it is like a technology showcase, lot's of really cool equipment. They can even text you a reminder about the appointment if you want I think I have been going to Danny since I was about 12 years old, when he first started out in the old spot taking over for an older retiring dentist. I have lived in 5 cities in the last 15 years, and Danny is the best of all the dentists I have had (that includes great dentists I found while I worked for Yelp in San Francisco and NYC). He uses the best materials, and does a job that is right the first time. My father said it best when he said - "How long will you be keeping these teeth? Go to Danny he will fix them for good and you will never have to worry about the work again in the future." I just had to get a bunch of work done in several parts of my mouth, spread across two appointments, all the result of not going to the dentist in a few years and waiting too long. Silly me - it sometimes seems like I will never grow up in respect to taking care of myself. He had to use the Novacane or whatever it is that dulls the pain, and as always he was super fast and efficient and it only hurt for a moment. We have a deal, if I feel that something hurts, I just raise my hand or touch his shoulder and he stops immediately. I think he put a tiny bit of Novacane in the area of my mouth he would be working on second when he did the first shot, so that 1) the pain from the shots would be right together (getting it over with quick) and 2) because it hurts less to give a small shot of it than a full dose, so that when he did get to that second part of my mouth all he had to do was give me the rest of the dose in an area that was already numbed. It did not even hurt when he gave me the rest of the dose. It was like he knew I had to take the pain of the two shots, but he had figure out a way to give me only the pain of one and a half. That above all else I really appreciated. Everyone that works there is super friendly, and really knowledgeable about everything. I love the fact that I can joke around with Danny and call him "bro" and "dude" and tell him bad jokes. I talk a lot when I get nervous, so he usually gives me about 5 minutes of blither blather and BSing before we get started. The work was as always great, cost what it is worth, and I was glad to pay as I know that nothing will ever go wrong with it. Thanks Danny, see you in 6 months bro! read more

Dr. Shiri is absolutely incredible!! I've had my fair share of dentists, and I can say with confidence that Dr. Shiri is the best in Los Angeles. He filled three of my cavities, one being extremely deep (almost a root canal), and I felt absolutely no pain whatsoever. I'm very sensitive to pain and even afraid of the sound of drills, but Dr. Shiri made my experience so wonderful for me and truly exceeded all expectations. The front desk receptionist, Connie, was really nice and comforting as well. She gracefully greeted me as I walked through the door and had me in before my appointment time. She was great! The lady who handles insurance, Anna, was absolutely terrible. Her awful and condescending attitude made me so uncomfortable. Every question I would ask would either be met with attitude or the silent treatment--to the point I had to walk back myself to the dentist to ask about a prescription because she refused to answer when I asked if I was all set. I had her speak on the phone to my mother since I am going through her insurance. As she is on the phone with my mother in front of my face, I see her rolling her eyes and sighing irritably while answering questions. Then at the end, I was still waiting for something else from the doctor when I heard someone ask, "Is she gone?" She said, "yes thank God." You should have seen the look on her face when I popped up from behind the corner and reminded her I am still in the office and if she could kindly wait ten minutes until I leave before she commenced talking about me. Being as nervous and anxious as I am when visiting dentists as many of us generally are, I expected more from her, considering the fact that my insurance (and out of pocket fees) pays the services. I don't want to take away from Dr. Shiri's exceptional services because of his terrible insurance person. If I could give him 10 stars I would! However, I'd give her 0. I am absolutely thrilled to have found Dr. Shiri, and his wonderful practice. From the moment I walked in I knew I was in a different dental office than what one typically experiences. Connie at the front was welcoming, and kindly assisted as I discussed options regarding my scheduled treatment. She could not have been more pleasant, professional, and patient as I inquired about possible rescheduling due to a recent procedure with another physician. The next person I met was Miguel who is such an asset to the office! He assisted Dr. Shiri who is truly a remarkable individual. Dr. Shiri took his time as he thoroughly checked my teeth and gums for any issues prior to the Zoom treatment. He pointed out a problem with my gums that I wasn't even aware of, and thanks to him, will have treated so it doesn't become worse. Back to Miguel who prepped me, and provided the actual treatment for Zoom explaining the steps along the way in such a compassionate and professional manner. I am one that is fine with having work done on my teeth, really have no issue with pain, but for someone who has those concerns, Miguel (as well as Dr. Shiri) is such a warm and caring individual that you would feel completely comfortable with any work performed. And, we all know that is a rare quality! Dr. Shiri, and his lovely staff run an exceptional practice, and you would be remiss not to see what you've been missing! Happy doesn't even begin to describe how I feel after my first visit with Dr. Shiri. I recently moved to LA from Boston and have been looking for a new dentist. I am a VERY fearful patient and even making a cleaning appointment gave me a ton of anxiety. Dr Shiri met with me Immediately, before I had even had the cleaning, and got to know me and let me explain in detail why I have a dental phobia and what kinds of things I had experienced in my dental history. His bed side manner was calm, empathetic, REAL, and patient (I hate Dr's who try to rush you). I came into the practice telling him I needed a root canal and three fillings (which I was told by my previous dentist) after a full exam and Xrays Dr. Shiri informed me that my teeth looked excellent and I did not need the work I had been told I needed previously. WOW in that moment Dr. Shiri earned my trust and my loyalty. After a very pleasant cleaning, I spoke with a patient coordinator who spoke with me for 20 minutes explaining my insurance benefits and discussing with me some patient experiences relative to my anxiety about the dentist. On top of all of that, the office was extremely clean, calm, and the music was awesome. Dr. Shiri thank you to you and your entire staff for making me the happiest dental patient in the world today. THE MOST AMAZING DENTIST EVER! Referred by a friend and it was the best Dentist experience I have ever had. Ive been to 4 dentists here in LA! I have impacting wisdom teeth so I went to my appointment for Xrays and a consultation. They were all very friendly and helpful. Was seen to right away. Had my X-rays and found out I have 'Wisdom Teeth from hell'!! To be able to go through this pain free they recommended me to another practice, an Orthodontist who would be able to put me to sleep for my procedure. Or they could do it and get a professional in for an extra charge to put me under. However they recommended the other practice to keep costs down. He helped me with the pressure I was feeling in my mouth, clogged up back teeth and gave me for free a water mouth pump to clean the back teeth until the wisdom teeth are removed. No dentist had said this before.. They then waived the consultation fee and charged me only for my X-rays. They emailed them to the referred practice and also to myself. I COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE!
