I found this on yelp while traveling on 101 to SLO. Based on the menu and the reviews we thought we'd give it a try. This is one of those, don't judge a book by its cover places. It very low profile appearance in a strip mall does not give it justice. The customer service was great and the food was fantastic. I had the Asian Chicken salad with the spicy peanut sauce, my boyfriend had the Cobb Salad and my daughters had the chicken tenders and cowboy nachos. Went down to Atascadero to escape the Bay Area smoke. Burgers sounded good for dinner and so we stopped in. The lady at the cash register was friendly helpful and wearing a mask. I think her mom was helping out and friendly too. Tables were outside (4 of them), the register was outside and that's where you ordered. My older son picked up the macaroni and cheese burger and he loved it. He was also happy with the order of onion rings. Daughter ordered the gyro and was satisfied, probably not the most authentic one ever made, but that's OK. She also got a salad and that looked phenomenal (and it was) so much so I would up ordering one too to go with my brisket sandwich. The lettuce was fresh and crisp. The tomatoes were juicy. Really impressed. Wife ordered the asian chicken salad and that was good too. I was disappointed with the brisket, even though it was beefy, it was a bit dried out. That said, I'm pretty picky when it comes to brisket so take that into account. I probably should have ordered a burger. Other son ordered the calamari and it was tender but nothing special. The hillbilly sauce they have is noteworthy, good on the calamari and even on the onions rings or fries. The ladies were good about getting drink refills and friendly small talk. Walking through the front door is akin to the pearly gates because this place is heaven! My daughter and I don't even discuss where we want to go when we go out...this is the best place with friendly staff that makes you feel at home and the BEST freaking food. We've yet to try something we don't like and due to the specialty menu (we're almost through it) we're venturing out into new foods on menus, we're both the type to stick to our favorites. Recently, my husband took me to this little hole in the wall place for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. My husband had the Danimal burger and it was fantastic! Who knew that linguicia, bacon, and jalapeno on a burger would be delightful!! I had the macaroni and cheese bacon cheese burger...it was ok but not my favorite. I think that the macaroni drowned out the burgers flavor but maybe with some seasoning added to it would have been a home run. This being said I think that this burger joint is super creative with its menu items and I will most definitely return to try more of what they have to offer. read more

Stopped by here on the way to Lake Nacimiento, best decision of the week. While the place may be small, the food and the service were outstanding. I had the fish and chips and they were light and tender. I think my wife made an even better choice and had the fried bacon sandwich. The tender bacon is thick cut and deep fried and the sweet chili sauce was the perfect compliment. And the sides like garlic fries are a perfect compliment. We recommend the Farmhouse burger and the Potato "Bite Me's". The staff is friendly and attentive. Attempted to place an order over the phone but they do not answer the phone. I have tried multiple times over multiple days. Staff says they must have just missed the call. Decided to walk in and place an order. For only a burger and fried jalapenos my total was $22. Burger was ok but not worth $13. Jalapenos were very good but got very little for the price. Everything was top quality, fresh, even unique. Fries were great. Salad had romaine lettuce (not cheap iceburg), which is great.

First of all I must admit I did not eat here. We left after sitting down and going over menu. We came because of all the reviews. Hesitant to go in because of location and no cars. Still remembered all the reviews. Glasses of water arrived in paper cups. When I requested glass, it was politely given. Then we looked over menu. It was huge despite a small kitchen. This is scary because it means most food items frozen in bulk. After searching menu for ten minutes looking for a healthy choice among items like a burger between layers of Mac and cheese, we left small tip and left without ordering. Ate here for lunch the other day. The owner personally greeted us and was incredibly friendly. I had the pastrami sandwich. The meat was tasty, but cut a bit thick for my taste. The housemade mustard aioli was excellent. All good and the pickles on the side were really good. My husband had the fish and chips. He was happy that it was cod, but didn't enjoy that it was breaded, not battered. It was still good, just not the style he was used to. The menu is very creative and we are looking forward to going back. The woman sitting next to us said the daily special beef cabbage soup/stew was wonderful. Just a heads up.
