Wow this coffee spot looks so cute. We came to pick up a vegan cake and did not spect that this coffee show is a cut spot to chill and get your coffee fix. Would definitely come back to try their coffee. The team that work here was amazing also they are very welcoming.

Fantastic experience! Love the vibe here - many non dairy options . Has a speakeasy feel to the place .

I thought I'd never been here but realized I had come during the days of Covid - which seemed surreal to me!!This rediscovery came recently as I came with a vegan friend to try since they are vegan friendly and I would never know otherwise because it's so good! The ambiance as you walk in is so cool, dark hipster vibes with really cool music and people just hanging out with laptops or with a person enjoying. The line was long and out the door, and inside tables were pretty packed, but I took myself outside for the patio there and it was great. There is so much seating outside and it's covered with plants and foliage so it's beautiful and you get that nice vitamin D from the sun but it's just what comes in between the leaves of the trees. She had a muffin and a matcha and I enjoyed just sitting with my gf, it was delightful. I'll have to come back to get a true feel for the coffee and baked goods although I have only heard great things.

I searched online today to find a place that would be cozy to bring my laptop and book and that that had plenty of space. Dark Hall popped up and I was drawn to the grungy vibes from the pictures. It did not disappointment! There's spacious outside seating all around the building and cozy inside seating. Inside seating is more limited, but it fit the cozy vibe I was going for. The owner was taking orders and he had such welcoming energy while taking his time to recommend some drinks. I tried two. First was the Sparking Garden Lemonade Matcha which was so crisp and refreshing. Loved it. I paired it with their Chocolate Banana Cake, which was so moist, creamy, and of course tasty. Then I wanted to make sure I tried some coffee because the reviews I've seen raved about it. I told the owner I enjoy cinnamon so he suggested a brown sugar cinnamon latte. Delicious!! What is so unique about Dark Hall is they only offer alternative milks and gluten free pastries. I've never seen that before at a coffee shop, but I'm here for it. They wear their beliefs loud and proud and it's so refreshing to encounter. Highly recommend for the vibes, coffee, and matcha!

Cold brew, almond milk, and black mocha syrup

Dark Hall is one of my favorite spots to go to for a nice morning latte. Their seasonal menu is always so refreshing, but this morning I opted for a cold brew with almond milk and their homemade black mocha syrup! Soooo good! Not only are their drinks quality, but their pastries are also top tier esp for being vegan! I usually go for their shortbreads or cake slices, but all are amazing! Thanks for making my mornings better!

This place was cool! I loved the spooky decor and ambiance. This place is next door to the Coronado, and they share a small parking lot. There was additional parking across the street. Indoor outdoor seating, standard coffee drinks with house made syrups and delicious vegan treats! The people working were polite and offered suggestions. I decided to try one of the skull babies and lemon olive oil blueberry cake. The skull baby was good, but I really enjoyed the lemon blueberry cake and would definitely order that again! I also ordered an iced latte and tried it with the caramel syrup. It was nice, not too sweet and very refreshing. I can't wait to come back!

Beautiful space! I absolutely love how it looks, the staff and other customers are also very friendly and great at providing suggestions. I had the brown sugar lemonade and a blueberry lemon olive cake while i was there and grabbed a chocolate chip cookie as a treat for later. The blueberry lemon olive cake was absolute perfection so pretty to look at but also the best olive oil cake I've ever had. Balanced flavor, soft, moist with a little caramelization on the edges was a perfect pick me up. It's later and I have now eaten the most magical chocolate chip cookie I have ever in my entire life gooey, crispy, sweet, salty just all around pure absolute magic. I have not had such perfect baked goods in a very long time, I'll definitely be back.

My favorite coffee shop in Arizona! I love the vibe of the whole place- It's dark and cozy. Coffee and treats are off the charts! Their cake and cookies are my favorite! I appreciate that everything is vegan and they don't up charge for oat milk. LOL. I love what they stand for and what they do for the community. I will always be a supporter of this small shop. I just wish they had another location closer to me, but they are worth the drive.

    Super sexy restroom.

Taking a little trip to northern Arizona and I always find an opportunity to stop in Phoenix to enjoy some of my favorites locally. Visiting Dark Hall feels like a must, I absolutely love their ability to bake vegan pastries just as a dairy pastry may come. They make house made syrups that love and enjoy and the vibe is always so great. Staff is super helpful and kind, the goth vibe is beautifully created. And they have one of the best bathrooms :)

A fantastic coffee shop whether you're vegan or not! The atmosphere is dark and spooky (perfect for Halloween & fall time) the inside is small and dimly lit but they have plenty of patio seating options both in the front and back of the shop. The staff are also super friendly and kind! Their syrups are all homemade which is a huge plus! We tried La Pepita Dulcita and it was good! I ordered it less sweet but it was still too sweet for me & I couldn't taste the flavor of the coffee enough but I still enjoyed it! Next time I'll ask the barista what they would recommend instead (: For pastries we tried the raspberry crumb which is a MUST order we absolutely loved it! & the blackout skull baby which was really rich and had an almond taste imo Overall, Dark Hall is a superb coffee shop that I would continue to come back to!

    Oatmeal Sandwich

It has become one of my favorite coffee shops. They also have an amazing pastry program that offers cookies, danishes, scones, and cakes. Highly recommend.

Everyone was friendly, polite, and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. I tried the Strawberry Cheesecake and the Key Lime Cheesecake, and both were absolutely delicious. The cheesecake was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being overly heavy. It's easy to see why this place has such great reviews. If you're looking for quality cheesecake and outstanding customer service, I would definitely recommend stopping by.

It's smooth, rich without being too heavy, and the flavor actually develops as you eat it instead of just being one-note sweet. You can tell they take this part seriously. Leave it outside the fridge for an hour and watch that cheesecake melt on your tongue crystals (if you have the patience for that) Their rotating monthly flavors keeps things interesting, and you're not just stuck with the same lineup every time. Out of what I tried, the banana pudding one was easily a standout--super nostalgic, creamy, and just done right without being overly sweet. The coconut one was also up there, more subtle but still really clean and flavorful. Love me some coconut! They also have a punch card system--buy 9 slices, get the 10th free--which is a nice touch. It lowkey turns into a mission because once you've tried one flavor, you kinda want to work your way through all of them anyway. Now...the downside. The customer service just isn't great. It's not aggressive or anything, just noticeably lacking. There's not much warmth or engagement--it feels pretty transactional. For a place that clearly puts effort into their product, you'd expect at least a baseline level of hospitality, and it's just not really there. So overall, if you're going to Banhams, go for the cheesecake. The rotating flavors keep it fresh, the quality is legit, and it's definitely worth trying. Just don't expect much from the service side, and you'll enjoy it a lot more.

Every pastry and beverage we ordered showcased an impressive level of skill and care, making it easy to understand why JL Patisserie has earned such a devoted following in the Valley. We sampled an assortment of pastries, including the carrot cake, Dubai chocolate chip cookie, pomegranate croissant, and pistachio croissant. Each item was beautifully prepared and thoughtfully balanced in flavor. The croissants were perfectly laminated--light, flaky, buttery, and rich without feeling heavy. The carrot cake was wonderfully moist with just the right amount of sweetness, while the pistachio croissant delivered a luxurious nutty flavor that paired beautifully with the delicate pastry layers. The true standout of the visit, however, was the Dubai chocolate chip cookie. It was absolutely incredible. Rich, decadent, and packed with flavor, it managed to be both indulgent and perfectly balanced. One bite was enough to understand why it has become such a sought-after item. If you're visiting JL Patisserie, this cookie is an absolute must-order. The drinks were equally impressive. The Strawberry Cloud Matcha was refreshing, smooth, and beautifully crafted, while the Biscoff Cookie Cold Brew offered a delicious combination of bold coffee and sweet cookie notes. The Hawaiian Latte was another highlight, providing a unique and flavorful twist on a classic coffee beverage. What impressed me most was the quality of the ingredients. Nothing tasted artificial or overly sweet; every item felt carefully made with premium ingredients and a genuine commitment to excellence. You can truly taste the difference. JL Patisserie delivers the kind of experience that reminds you why artisanal bakeries are so special. Whether you're stopping in for a morning coffee, a flaky croissant, or one of their signature pastries, you're in for something memorable. The setup reminded me a school cafeteria. You pick up a tray, use the tongs to select your choices, walk up to counter, see more items peruse, then pay at the counter. The store was well decorated, very bright & colorful -- and the seating was quite comfortable (the whicker seats anyway). We ordered a wide array of savory & sweets. The salad needed more dressing, a few of the savory pastries were a bit chewy (had they been out awhile, maybe?), and most of the sweets were decent. The polite gal behind the counter offered to warm up the savory pastries but we declined -- I believe the heat would have made them more chewy. It was a bummer we didn't enjoy the food more.
