Jalapeno Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries
    Evan B.

Located near 35 this place is a must go to for both locals and people visiting. It's simple and welcoming. Anyone is sure to feel comfortable here. Decorated with all the info about the zipper ripper which is their legendary challenge. Look at the photo for information on it. The food here is made fresh, it's hot, and it's delicious. I ordered the jalapeno cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and it was delicious. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, cheese was perfectly melted, and the meat was well seasoned. My fries were cooked well and not soggy or overcooked like sweet potato fries sometimes get. The sodas were good too! I loved the root beer. It almost had a little vanilla taste to it. The onion rings were really crispy and hot too. The staff were really wonderful and kind.

We were passing through and decided to grab a quick bite. Customer service: C (based on the lack of personality of the young cashier) Location: A Parking: B- (Available, but limited) Atmosphere: A Food quality: A- I'm not sure if the young lady working the cashier was new or unhappy, but her personality & customer service skills gave off "wet mop" vibes. However, the older lady working in the kitchen was very friendly and welcoming. She spoke to us along with the folks behind us. I was low-key worried the beef patties would be unseasoned and lacking flavor. I was pleasantly surprised with my first bite of the burger it was juicy and seasoned very well. The onion rings and fries were crispy and seasoned as well. Everything was delicious!!! Lastly, the entire restaurant was clean and smelled very fresh. Roni's pick

Jetting down to ATX for the game and decided to see who had a great burger along the way. Just a few blocks off I35, you need to pop in and get this burger. Good old fashioned burger stand w friendly people and fast service. Lots of choices to make the burger the way you want. Oh, and there are epic brownies and Rice Krispie Treats as well as Ice Cream. Come on know. You know you want it.

Hits the spot. This is a casual local burger joint that is fast and friendly. No hidden frills. Cheeseburger and fries will probably cost you around 8-9 bucks. Friendly staff, and clean environment. What makes this place truly special is the challenge the Zipper Ripper of eating a boatload of food in 12 minutes-- to see if you will win or lose! It is definitely very Texan and a great place to go for a quick bite with friends. Also they have a nice ice cream selection and speciality sodas. Locals love it.

Got dinner to go from here. Should've called it in because it took close to 20 mins for the order to be ready, even though they weren't terribly busyZ Ironically, the burgers taste a lot like Whataburger, which is a good thing in my book. They were pretty good overall, and the order was right and piping hot, so that's good too. My wife liked her sweet potato fries, but my daughter didn't care for her regular fries, and I wasn't wowed by the onion rings either. They looked better than they tasted....and I've seen very few onion rings I didn't like.nice had better burgers, but these weren't serviceable. I've definitely had better sides from a burger joint.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and directed to choose a table of our preference. The waitress quickly came over and grabbed our drink order while we looked at the menu. We placed our order and the waitress was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. She also informed us they work as a team so we can stop anyone when/if we need something. We started with the "Burning Bush" appetizer (crispy Brussel sprouts w/ lemon garlic aioli). YUM! They had just the right bite to them, and the glaze on them paired with the aioli was delicious! For our entrees we had the Golden Calf Burger w/ sweet potato fries and sriracha aioli and The Weight of Glory Sandwich w/ broccoli slaw. They were both incredibly flavorful and fresh! You can tell they locally source their ingredients and prepare them onsite. The portions are also plentiful, and we left with a takeout box. To round off lunch we tried the special mousse on the specials board (coffee flavored cheesecake mousse). It was so delightful we dug in before I could snap a pic. Just enough coffee flavor paired with chocolate sauce (not hersheys ). The big windows allow for a lot of natural light and lends to a welcoming and warm environment. We will for sure be back and bring others!

I especially enjoyed how the herbed goat cheese mixed with the lemon aioli (aioli is garlic mayo so the garlic is redundant in the menu) and beef patty. That combo was deadly to me, oof Some nice cold coleslaw to compliment the hot burger was a nice mix. I still haven't forgotten how heavy their tomato soup is! So packed with flavor omg. Friendly + quick staff as always and gorgeous wooden seating.

I ordered the fried pickles and I thought they would come out as an appetizer, but they were put next to the burger as a side so I was disappointed in that. The fried pickles were way too thick for my liking although they were breaded well. What's neat about this place is the variety of different flavored pickles that they have in the corner for you to eat. I really did like that!! There's a bar in the center of the floor and although I didn't get anything from the bar, I did like the setup. The burger itself was okay. Not spectacular, but not the worst. Would I eat here again? I think I would.

Today on the drive back and as I approach Waco I thought I'm gonna find a great smash burger....and oh boy did I ever. 4.5 miles off the expressway yelp pointed me to Captain Billy Whizz...not going to lie on the way there I was concerned and I got closer more worried if I had in fact chosen correctly! Pulling in nothing special and the area is interesting.... Saw they had a drive thru and went what the hell let's do this! Ordered a double smash burger with cheese fully dressed extra pickle, tater tots sweet tea and spent $20.00...just me. What I received was a perfectly cooked and seasoned juicy burger...HOT. The bun was soft and reminded me of an old style burger from my childhood. This is a big juicy burger and everything you'd want and expect in a burger. Tatter-tots were ok...hard to go wrong with em.... The problem is the burger...it's soooo damn good you forget about the tots. We got seated right away around 1:30 pm on a Friday. There appeared to be only two servers covering the entire room but they did a pretty good job of it. Our waiter, a young man was quite pleasant and knowledgeable. He used an electronic order taking device and was able to customize anything we asked for, right in the device. Three of us ordered shakes. My friend loves Coconut Cream Pie, which they have and she was considering a shake. I suggested she ask our server if he could make her a Coconut Cream Pie shake with vanilla ice cream. Sure enough, he did it and it was quite tasty. For lunch, we ordered as follows: - Patty Melt with Tots (shared by my wife and I) - Kids Finger Basket with 1 Chicken and 1 Steak finger and tots - Steak Finger Basket with Tots The food was very diner diner-like (fried or flat top grilled) and it was tasty. This was a decent and fun lunch and we'd stop here again.
