So, I have been waiting to try this place for so long. It was definitely worth the wait! Medium spiced chicken tenders were delicious. In fact, I might even go hot next time. The service was great, order at the counter and seat yourself. The girl at the register was kind and helpful answering my questions since it was my first visit. The place was busy, I went during lunch. I waited about 10 mins for my food, but I didn't mind at all. The murals in the restaurant make for a nice ambiance. Overall, it was a great stop!! Dave hot chicken is my guilty pleasure! Orlando was my cashier and man was he an upbeat, knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. Came in as a challenge for my daughter. Fair amount of customers, but orders were taken quickly. Wanted her to try the Reaper level, but that required us signing a waiver so we opted for the next level down (extra hot). We ordered two combos and it took 35 mins to get our order. Tenders were of typical fast food expectations, but the level of spice left my daughter's tongue numb for hours, which was funny. Fries were okay. The food was great, not too crowded, and a GREAT choice of music. The food itself was lovely with a great kick. Some of the best fries I have had, along with a crispy chicken "slider." Fun spot with tasty chicken. The portions were generous on every entree option we ordered. My only complaint is that the "heat" levels vary wildy and they are not consistent. Low to Medium is actually a HUGE jump up, so be warned. We also had a service mix-up, so that my young daughter was given chicken strips in level Hot instead of the Mild we ordered. It may be a uncommon mistake, but they were very slow to give us the corrected order. By the time we got our replacement, everyone else at the table was finished eating. After some exhausting Christmas shopping in the adjacent mall, I stopped into the fairly new Dave's Chicken. Unsure of the heat (and the fact that I am a wimp) I ordered the 1spice level on the slider special. I hadn't expected hubby to arrive home before me so was prepared to share. Wow! If the food looked as good as the street art it might have tasted better. The tender was better than the sliders, Mac and cheese was ice cold. Team Members forgot part of my order and instead of fixing the problem, the team lead told his team member to tell me to wait. Grill bagging the food was more focused on flirting with her bf at the counter. 45 minutes for cold food and a 50.00 meal, I'd wait until they figure it out. Dave's hot chicken used to be soooo good! But then Roark Capital bought the franchise and I've really noticed the quality go down hill. The portion sizes are smaller, the chicken isn't as tender nor is it as juicy, the sliders used to be more flavorful with a good amount of sauce. I thought you know maybe I'll get it a few more times because sometimes places have bad days like everyone. But no, the more I continued to get it the more downhill it's gone. It's very unfortunate. I used to have a 5 star rating so I'm in hopes of enough people start to see the decline maybe they'll better the ingredients again. read more

I went to a Dave's Hot chicken here in Arizona up on Bell rd. 475 East Bell Rd My Wife and I went in ordered our food it is great chicken. After we ate I picked up all of my garbage and took it over to the garbage can and deposited it and went back to the table. It was then I noticed that an item I had wrapped in a napkin was no longer on the table. It was quite valuable and my heart sunk, I realized I had thrown it in the trash can. My wife and I got up and I went over to the trash can and poked around but others had deposited their trash and had covered it. My wife talked to a girl behind the counter and she came over to help. She pulled the trash can out and offered to help and even get us gloves to use. I told her that was ok I was sure to find it. There was a second trash bag in the bin so my wife and I started to pull things out of the full bag and piece by piece moved them over to the empty one . 2 minutes later I found the napkin it was in and told my wife I had found it. Just as that happened, some guy came walking with towards me with a particular angry face shouting at me, "are you going through my garbage? I said yes I am, I continued I accidently put...He abruptly cut me off, still hollering at me, You need to ask ME, the manager if you can do that. I retorted hey, the girl behind the counter ... and he cut me off again, This time I got IN his face. You don't get my face and talk to me like that. You could heard others in the place saying "why is he being so nasty like that" This guy was looking for a fight. And it went it circles, I couldn't talk anymore he just kept cutting me off. He said I don't know if you're a homeless person or what. (Something he would have known had he not interrupted me so I could tell him I just finished eating there, and accidently placed something of value in the trash and was trying find it). I was wearing a 2k Movado watch , and 2k of gold on my left wrist Also had a brand new pair of Bright white leather vans. And somehow I'm homeless?? I'm 69 years old. Something I require is respect from punk ass kids like this. This guy was a mad bull in a china store. He finally told me to leave, which I did. I'd like to know who screens people for Dave's to hire for mgmt positions???? The food and service were excellent. Dave's Hot Chicken was created by best friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan. Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller's (French Laundry) organization set out to create the perfect Hot Chicken by searching, tasting, and frying. The four friends scrounged up $900 to put a tiny stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. The menu was simple, and chicken was the star. And what chicken it is! Sourced and prepared to be the juiciest and most tender imaginable with each piece topped with Dave's own mix of spices ranging from "Mild" to "The Reaper". Arman created Instagram buzz and the lines began to grow. Two nights later, Eater/LA showed up to see what the fuss was about. The next morning's headline read "East Hollywood's Late Night Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind". Almost instantly, the lines stretched around the block. A year later, the boys had the money to open a shop in a hip strip-mall with de_cor by local street artists, where the crowds continued to grow with wait-times of an hour and more. From there, the incredibly craveable "Hot and Spicy" varieties have created a cult following with rave reviews across the U.S. and Canada.

Established in 2017.

In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept -- take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw -- they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long. After 6 months of running the pop-up with long lines, the team took the plunge and opened their first physical store in January 2018 in a sleepy strip center in East Hollywood. Demand for their crave-able hot chicken exceeded all expectations and sales have grown every month since opening with consistently long lines throughout the day. I went to a Daves Hot chicken here in Arizona up on Bell rd 475 East Bell Rd My Wife and I went in ordered our food it is great chicken. After we ate I picked up all of my garbage and took it over to the garbage can and deposited it and went back to the table. It was then I noticed that an item I had wrapped in a napkin was no longer on the table. It was quite valuble and my heart sunk, I realized I had thrown it in the trash can. My wife and I got up and I went over to the trash can and poked around but others had deposited their trash and had covered it. My wife talked to a girl behind the counter and she came over to help. She pulled the trash can out and said she would help if needed and even offered to get us some gloves. I told her that was ok I was sure to find it. There was a second trash back in the bin so my wife and I started to pull things out of the full bag piece by piece moved them over to the empty one 2 minutes later I found the napkin it was in and told my wife I had found it. Just as that happened, some guy came walking with a particularly angry face shouting at me, "are you going through my garbage? I said yes I am, I continued I accidently put...He abruptly cut me off, still hollering at me, You need to ask ME, the manager if you can do that. I retorted hey, the girl behind the counter ... and he cut me off again, This time I got IN his face. You don't get my face and talk to me like that. You could heard others in the place saying "why is he being so nasty like that" This guy was looking for a fight. From there it went it circles, I couldn't talk anymore he just kept cutting me off. He said I didn't know if you're a homeless person or what. (something he would have know had he not interrupted me so I could tell him I just finished eating there, and accidently place something of value in the trash and was trying find it). I was wearing a 2k Movado watch , and 2k of gold on my left wrist Also had a brand new pair of Bright white leather vans. And somehow I'm homeless?? I'm 69 years old.
