Fly Bye is hands down the best pizza and wings in town, but what truly sets them apart is their exceptional customer service. The employees are absolutely amazing and fantastic. They noticed that I had accidentally overpaid and came to me to issue a refund, without me even realizing it! They still made my exact same meal with no issues at all. That level of honesty and care is rare. To make the experience even more special, it was my son's birthday. The manager noticed he had a Super Mario plushie and went out of their way to bring him crayons and coloring paper featuring the same character. It completely made my son's day Great food, kind and attentive staff, and genuine care for their customers. Tried Fly Bye on Camelback and I'll just say it: this was a classic "great deal, a couple tweaks away from greatness" situation. I called in my order at 11:20am and got quoted 25-30 minutes for the lunch special. It was ready right around that window, which immediately put me in a good mood because nothing ruins lunch faster than staring at a pickup counter like it owes you money. The guy behind the counter was friendly and even tossed in a sample of 'copy cane' sauce for me to try on my sandwich. I ordered the lunch special (pepperoni pizza slice + Caesar salad, no drink) and added the chicken sandwich with fries. (Fries were only $1 add on!) Starting with the chicken, flavor was solid. Chicken was seasoned and the hoagie was legit. But the lettuce comes ranch-tossed like it's training for a swimming event. It tastes good but if you wait too long to eat it, the bread starts turning into a sponge and the sandwich becomes more "salad in loaf form." The Cane's-clone sauce was 100% needed--once I added it, everything clicked. Now the fries were cooked well done, crispy, and exactly the texture I like. They were just a touch dry, so ketchup wasn't a suggestion--it was a requirement. With ketchup, they're great. The real value winner was the pizza + ceasar. The slice is big and absolutely worth the $10 on size alone. Also: A+ pepperoni choice. They use those small cupping pepperonis (Grimaldi's style) instead of the big greasy ones, and I respect that decision deeply. Only downside: the center was slightly undercooked--that gooey middle happened on a few bites, and I'm not a "wet pizza" person. The salad was fresh and the dressing had great flavor and depth, the croutons felt home made and the whole situation, even portion size, was enjoyable. Would I come back? Yeah. I'd give it another shot because the bones are good and the price is right. Next time I'm ordering the sandwich no tomato and no ranch-tossed lettuce, so I can control the sauce per bite instead of letting it control me. Also worth noting: I signed up for their rewards program and got $10 off, bringing my total to $15--which made this whole lunch feel like a small financial victory with gas at $5 a gallon! read more

Gosh dang it. I'm not sure if anyone else is like me, but I find the preservative or anti-caking "big dairy" use on cheese is very off putting. When you bake a pizza at 400+ degrees, one would expect the cheese to melt and become one. When you buy pre shredded cheese, each strand is coated with crap to keep it shelf stable. I understand the business reasoning, but kind of disappointed. Part of eating is the visuals. When you see individual strands of cheese on a pizza, it ruins the experience. 100% likely in the minority in this, but it is what it is. Their chicken is really good, tho. read more

It upsets me to write a less than stellar review about this place, the staff and service are very good, but what has been consistent lately is the poor quality of the pizza. After the fourth time of experiencing this, I decided to write this review - the dough comes out extremely soft. Like super doughy and kind of gross. Not sure if it's a problem with the cook time, or the proofing process of the dough, but it feels and tastes undercooked. Overly soft and chewy and kind of off-putting. We stopped by here wanting to get some Detroit style pizza and ended up ordering there to go Bundle which included large pizza , 16 wings and a salad we of course also ordered some chicken strips. The pizza was good and crispy I wish it had some more sauce and was a little thicker but overall a good pizza. The wings come bare and then you choose your sauces , I do prefer to have my wings sauced beforehand but atleast they were crispy. Now to the chicken tenders which are an absolute must if your stopping by here they are cooked to perfection and so juice and they also have good crinkle cut fries. I had a craving for some Detroit style deep dish pizza, and had been curious about Fly Bye, since they claim to offer that. We ended up door dashing it, and ordered the Roma Salad, House Made Mozzarella Sticks and the Queso Fundido pizza. The food arrived pretty close to when it said it would. I really enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and salad. The pizza fell a little short. It wasn't bad, but I've had better. I was genuinely baffled by how airy and crispy the crust was for a detroit style pizza, the sauce is the perfect flavor and the overall pizza wasn't too salty or anything. I'm not super close to either Fly Bye locations, but did find myself down the street while working recently, and also on a Friday, which seemed like a sign for a pizza night! I love some good Detroit style pizza and Fly bye offers just that. Along with various salads, chicken and app options that really hits the mark for a tasty indulgent/takeout option, while still offering high quality ingredients and flavors. I placed my order online for pick up, which was super easy and allowed me make any customizations I needed. Which leads me to one of my favorite customizations they allow, two 1/2 speciality pizzas in one. You can opt for their smaller four piece, which is still quite big or their 8 piece and they permit you to pick up to two options. My experience, is usually pizza shops do not offer this. Sure you can do half options here or there, but not usually with two speciality za's. We opted for the truffle mushroom and bbq chicken. This has got to be one of the best bbq chickens pizzas I have ever had. The truffle also absolutely hits the mark and is delicious. They both have awesome flavor, perfectly crispy and cheesy edges and bottom as Detroit style should. We also paired it with a Brussel salad as well. The 8 piece was more than enough yo fill and satisfy three adults with two leftover slices. Bonus points their house ranch dressing is dynamite. Overall, this is a great option for pizza fix. Perfectly crispy outside with that nice crunch. The pizza was just ok this time. I think it needed a little more time in the oven. We stopped by for lunch on Saturday after seeing all the positive reviews. We arrived around 1:30pm and it was pretty busy. There were other people dining in and people picking up "to go" orders. The cashier was super friendly! She had a smile on her face and quickly greeted us. We took some time to look over the menu since we had never been in. The menu not only had pizza, but we also saw some chicken and salad options as well. We ended up ordering three pizzas. One regular and two Detroit style. I had the regular style with peperoni, my sister had the supreme - Detroit style and our friend had the Hawaiian - Detroit style. A table opened up while we ordered our food and the cashier told us she would be right over to clean it up. After the table was cleaned off we grabbed napkins, plates, and condiments and sat down. The food arrived not too long after. My pizza was hot and crispy. The crust was a little burnt but had a nice flavor. It also had a lot of pepperoni on top, which made me happy. The two Detroit style pizzas were my favorite. They were thick and full of toppings. The employee who dropped our pizza off was also friendly and he looked happy to be there. We ate fast though because it got to be super hot in there. The building faces the sun which makes it very hot inside. Overall both style of pizzas are good and the service is great! I've enjoyed delivery from here in the past, but the great experience I had dining in pushed me to finally write a review. If you like Detroit style pizza, you have to try this place. And if you haven't tried Detroit style pizza, you have to start. It's soft and pillowy on the inside yet crunchy on the edges, and the Fly Bye topping options are top tier. Hot honey pepperoni and Italian sausage with caramelized onions are crowd pleasers, but I want to try some of the other delicious looking combinations in the future. I love how fresh the pizza was dining in, and although the restaurant is small, it was worth it. The staff were helpful-- service was excellent. And a large pizza feeds two to three people, which I think is good value for the price. With easy parking, I can see myself returning again for pickup or eating at the restaurant. read more

Also found out from my coworker who smelled my food and wanted some too that that location on central doesn't open till 3pm :-( Online ordering was super easy, allows you to customize and I'd definitely use this again. I really like how on top their employee was when I did the curbside pickup and that they have great time management! My food was hot and was not just sitting there waiting for me to pick up. I'd been driving by this "Fly Bye" location for months and was excited to try it when the timing was right... That day came on 12/31/22 - New Year's Eve! I went online and ordered dinner for my family after our long day of travel. The website was easy to use and our food was ready when promised, even after I submitted a second order as we had some friends and family join us. This made for the perfect meal to end the year. We all enjoyed pizza, wings, salads, fries, mac & cheese, and more! My husband is super picky, but he liked our meal so much, he went back to get a chicken sandwich a day or two later. Whether you like your pizza round or square, with salads or wings, or even a roasted buffalo cauliflower bowl, there is something for everyone on this menu. I've gotta say that I wasn't really expecting all that much, but Fly Bye honestly blew me away! To start, the staff here absolutely rock!! Everyone was so friendly that it made us feel super welcome just stepping into the restaurant. And they were also all super knowledgeable about the menu and seemed pretty passionate about what they do here (Detroit style pizzas and fried chicken tenders) that it got us excited about our food. And the food was great! We had the chicken tenders with a variety of dipping sauces (which were such a great size! No wimpy small side cups here), crinkle fries and the Brussels salad. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, the fries were crisp, and the salad was super refreshing. Next time we are definitely going to try one of their pizzas, because all of these items were awesome. We were invited to the soft opening today so they can work out the kinks before officially opening their doors, so I am only going to comment on the food quality. First, the wings! Perfectly crispy and a variety of sauces to choose from. No 'mushy mess' wings here. As you can see from the picture, food portion sizes as well. Second, I KNOW we should have tried the pizza, but needed a salad today and they had a few to choose from. The 'Roma' caught my eye with Italian meats, pepperocini's, tomatoes etc. it has an interesting Italian based dressing that really added dimension to the salad. They do appear to have a few tables inside and out, but this is primarily a take out place. They also have quite a few spots for designated curbside pickup, which is really nice for grabbing that pizza on the way home. As someone who loves pizza- I can say with confidence this is in my top two places for pizza in Phoenix! I love the Detroit style pizza! You get crispy corners and perfectly fluffy crust! The sauce is on the sweeter side but you can pair it with so many choices! I tend to add pineapple to my pizzas and it always works! The mozzarella sticks are also top notch! Crispy on the outside and perfectly cheesy, but not too gooey on the inside! Ordering takeout is always a breeze. The staff is really friendly and always makes sure we have the sauces/etc we need!
