Popped in for a late lunch on a Friday, plenty of interior seating, fast service and food comes out quickly. Opted for the single slider and a side of kale salad. Dining companion for the slider meal (came with fries). Sandwich was good and chicken was hefty but I found the seasoning a little too heavy handed (I.e. too much cumin- or a spice similar) but when I topped it with a drizzle of honey, it really balances it out. The kale salad was fresh and not drenched in sauce which I appreciated. I got the medium spice and found it to be just right. DC got hot and it was insanely spicy for me but they said, "I think I could have gotten the reaper but it said you had to sign a waiver." Fries were super crispy, piping hot and seasoned perfect. Overall, the meal was super worth it. read more

I give Dave's Hot Chicken 3.5 stars! I really enjoyed my 2nd visit, I ordered mild. The first time I had it hot and I thought the seasoning was too much, and the chicken was on the dryer side. The fries are delicious, I'm a fan of crinkle fries and I love the extra pickles on the side. The bread isn't just normal bread it does have a buttery, Hawaiian rolls texture type of bread, lightly toasted inside but doesn't stay toasted. I recommend using the honey packets, it makes the experience better and add cheese to tone down heat or just to create more flavorful! The price is great for what you get. My partner loves this place he orders it often. He gives it a 500/5 haha! read more

I've had Hattie B's in Nashville so I feel like I have some credibility when I say this was on par or even better!! I love the taste of hot chicken and Dave's did not disappoint! I came on I believe the second opening weekend and it was so busy! There was a line forming out of the door so I did end up waiting over half an hour to get inside and order, but the service was pretty fast overall! I shared the sandwich ($16) with my friend and we got the medium spice level (I love that you can adjust this). It was the right amount of spicyness and also filling! The fries were also yummy and also bonus points for the cutest smiley pickles :) I will say I think it's a bit expensive, but decent to share and glad I can fulfill my hot chicken craving in cap hill! read more

Got the new Dave's Loaded Fries and they were delicious! The line usually goes out the door on the weekends when I come so make sure you order online for pick up to avoid the long wait. Shared the loaded fries between 2 people and we couldn't even finish it! Definitely come here after a long night out, this always hits the spot. read more

Dear Dave's Hot Chicken Team, I'm very disappointed with the repeated poor service at your Pike Street location. I ordered twice, clearly requesting no pickles and extra slaw on the side, yet both times my sandwich had slaw on the bread and was touched by pickles. When I asked for a remake, staff refused and said I'd need to pay extra for slaw. I even heard one employee tell the manager, David, "don't give her extra slaw." This felt targeted and disrespectful, especially as a loyal customer. Please address this with your staff. If not resolved promptly, I'll be filing a complaint with the Seattle Attorney General's Office. read more

Honestly so glad this place opened up in Seattle! If you are looking for spicy chicken, this is the place to go! It hasn't been open for very long so sometimes there is a line, especially evenings and weekends. For $14, you can get a pretty filling meal. I got the combo with one slider and one tender and I was stuffed. The hot is pretty spicy, but it is my favorite. I find myself craving the sandwich so I definitely will make this a regular stop. read more

This review is for ordering Dave's delivery only. I'm finding Dave's to be great back-up to my typical chicken spots, on those weekend nights where I want to veg out hard with some heavy delivery. It's also on the more affordable end of delivery, whatever that means these days. I've ordered the tenders, sliders, and fries. The tenders come heavily dusted in spices and seasoning and that is regardless of the heat level. I get "lite mild" which is their least spicy next to nothing, but even then there's a small kick, although sometimes I bite into a very hot spot, so it'd be nice if it was a little more uniform, but I really like the textures and flavor of that dust! The chicken has been tender and a good texture. I haven't hit grisly bits or anything, it all tastes good, and these things are humongous and filling! The breading is more soft than crispy, and while I love crispy chicken, I don't really mind. They've got their style down. The sliders are just a tender on a buttery soft bun, with some sauce, and they are delicious. The fries are crinkle cut and decent. Dave's chicken is very conducive to the late night food coma. I give it four stars because there are just places I like better, but I definitely recommend Dave's for that fast food fix that's a step above KFC, and I wouldn't hold off on ordering this from time to time if my regular spots were closed or the delivery times are going to be too long. read more

When I went on a Saturday at 12pm, the line for Dave's Hot Chicken was inside so it seemed like the perfect time to go! I ordered the #4 which came with a slider and fries with the Dave's sauce. I got level hot for the chicken. The slider itself was juicy and delectable and paired extra well with honey on top. The fries were too salty for me and I was unable to finish them, even with the Dave's sauce. The pickles were nice and sour and tasted good with everything! I'm glad I got a sprite because that was a lot of cholesterol. Otherwise, I would come back to Dave's Hot Chicken again for their sliders. It was just too good! read more

I went here a couple times for a late night snack and it hit the spot every time! The servers are super friendly even at 1 am in the morning and one time I went, they even handed out free slushies for the people in line! I always get the chicken sandwich - the bun is soft and warm, the chicken is juicy, and their special sauce is delicious! The space is on the smaller side but there's plenty of seating and it's pretty clean. I highly recommend if you're looking for a quick dinner or late night snack! read more

The line for Dave's Hot Chicken was out the door! It wrapped around the corner of the building, and the total wait time for our order was 60 min! Despite that, the wait was worth it since my boyfriend and I have been craving Dave's Hot Chicken since we first tried it in July 2023 in LA. We're so happy that it opened in Capitol Hill! The service was really friendly, and you can tell majority of the team members were being trained on the spot. They did a great job with maintaining the flow of service, and the wait time was just long due to the popularity of the place. So kudos to them! I got Combo #1 which includes 2 tenders with fries, and I requested the spice level to be Hot. I believe the spice level varies by location, because I didn't find it to be as spicy as the Medium in LA. I would probably try Extra Hot next time, since I have a pretty good spice tolerance. My boyfriend on the other hand, he chose Combo #3 which includes 1 tender and 1 slider with fries, with a spice level of Mild. The chicken is well-seasoned and goes well with the sauce (tip: ask for honey to add to the sauce, it adds some sweetness to balance out the saltiness!). The crinkle cut fries weren't anything special, and the toast is a bit too plain for my liking since it isn't buttered or toasted. It gets a point for being soft though! Overall, I would love to visit again when the wait times aren't as long since this place has become one of my favorite fast-food chicken spots! read more

I cannot even begin to describe how deliciously crispy and juicy their chicken sliders are. Dave's is officially becoming a frequent spot for me. I've already been back 3 times since i took this first photo! The chocolate shake is divine and the slider is seriously like no other. I always get the mild spice level because i like it with a bit of a kick, but not too hot. The fries are crinkle cut and fresh and crispy as well. I'd take this spot over Chick-fila any day! There is a decent amount of seating inside but i would recommend ordering to go since they are super crowded most of the time. Tip: The line can get super long, i recommend ordering on the website 20 mins before arriving during busy hours. 1000% worth the wait! read more

If you're looking for good tenders, this is the place to try. Apparently Dave's is famous for their fried chicken and that it's based off from California. Because of this and it being near Seattle U, and it PACKED. We waited about 50 mins to order our food and about 30-40 mins to receive our food. I got #3 which comes with a slider and a tender. The chicken is pretty good. It's packed with seasoning and is a good size. It's juicy and crispy as well. The fries were nice and crispy. It costed around $14 for the meal, which I thought was a good deal. I also had their strawberry milkshake. I thought the shake was one of the best shakes I've ever had. The service is fine. Seeing the line outside Dave's Hot Chicken when they first opened, I knew I'd eventually have to try it out. No way was I going to stand there for an hour though. Waited for the hype to die down and went for the first time last week. I'm glad I didn't join the crowds - it was a good sandwich, but nothing spectacular. Good spice on the chicken, and it was very tender. A little greasy though, and not quite crispy enough for my liking. If you're nearby and haven't been, give it a shot. But if you're looking for the best fried chicken in town, this ain't it (try out Cookie's, Sisters & Brothers, or S/T Hooligans for some contenders). read more

Good stuff! I really enjoyed the experience here! The service was very nice and friendly. We ordered efficiently at the counter and I got my receipt and a buzzer. We waited not too long and got our meals in a reasonable time, and sat at a table by the front window. It was busy and full in there but I'm glad we got a seat. The water and soda fountain dispenser felt kind of dirty and much used, but at least they did have small cups for free water. The chocolate milkshake I got was also very yummy. I really liked the cheesy fries, they were great. I wish they had been coated with a bit more cheese but they were still really good to eat. I got the medium spice level on my chicken slider sandwich and that was perfect for me. Any less spice and it would not have been a remarkable sandwich at all. The chicken portions here are a lot smaller than the other Dave's Hot Chicken I've been to in the Midwest. I was a bit taken aback by it. Finally visited after hearing so much about their delicious food! I tried Dave's #4 (1 slider & fries) along with the Mac n Cheese. I really loved the chicken! Super flavorful and has a little bit of a kick for a mild spice. Very tender and really delicious-- especially for it being a cajun seasoning. Wasn't the biggest man of the fries as they didn't stand out as much, so I'd focus more on the chicks tenders and the Mac N Cheese. The Mac n Cheese was decadent and perfectly creamy. I've been wanting to try Dave's Hot Chicken since they opened their Seattle location and we finally had a chance to go. It. Was. BOMB. Parking looks like it's hard to find, there were a few cars parked in the turn lane with their hazards on. Thankfully we managed to snag a spot close by. We walked in and the restaurant was packed with a medium sized line. We used that time to look at the menu and decide what to get. After we ordered, we found a spot to sit in some bar seating if you continue past the ordering area. We liked the area we sat in since it was quieter than the main seating area but the tables were STICKY. My husband said it was possibly a chemical reaction to the finish on the tables due to their cleaning products but it was pretty bad. Our food was ready after less than 10 minutes which was quick considering how slammed they were. It was SOO good and I honestly haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. The chicken was hot and fresh, some of the best I've had in a long time. I got the #3 in hot and my husband got the #2 in medium. I thought the hot was perfect and my husband said he'd get that over medium next time. We also weren't expecting the "sliders" to be full sized sandwiched and easily could've shared one meal. I only ate my tender and some fries and brought the rest home for later. It was just as good as leftovers the next day. They were also offering samples of their slushies which was a nice little bonus. Honestly I would be 5 stars if the table wasn't so crazy sticky. We'll definitely be back soon! I'm looking forward to trying their "not" chicken (cauliflower) and top loaded fries! read more

The chicken is delicious, some of the best hot chicken you can get in Seattle. I typically get it to go, but tonight I chose to dine-in with some friends. I ordered 3 meals but they only rang us up for two. We didn't notice until we received the order wrong. I went to re-order the third meal, paid, and asked for a water cup. At that point an employee informed me that they don't provide water free of charge and we had to purchase a fountain drink-- nearly $4 for TAP WATER after spending $60 on food is asinine. While the food is good, it's not good enough to make up for the greedy business practices. A business not offering complimentary water alongside their spicy chicken is absurd and, like I said, greedy. I do not recommend and I will not return. read more

Ordered the two piece tender set. I really enjoyed the fries, they were crispy and flavorful. I also really loved the thick cut pickles. The chicken however was just not my favorite. The chicken was juicy and tender but the sauce was not my favorite. The dry rub on the chicken was a little too overpowering but not spicy or flavorful. It was a little too grainy in my opinion. Ordered hot to make sure it would have some spice to it as I know the American spice meter might be a bit more toward the safe side, hot was perfect, I don't think I can do any spicier. An order of single tender was $5 and came on a slice of bread with a side of pickles and house sauce, the fried chicken hits the spot for a cheat meal, but god damn I'm not sure what's in the chicken, but I've been very thirsty since then. Normally go through just one water bottle total per day, but I've had 2 so far within the last few hours. Lol. I have been waiting for the hype to die down to finally try Dave's Hot Chicken as I heard it was a few hours wait time when it first opened, I was able to order right away and found a seat. Definitely love the Fries and the Seasoning, I don't think I was a fan of the Chicken Sandwich but please be aware I removed a lot of the Toppings like Pickle/ Slaw. I gave it a go, and wasn't too impressed. At the end of the day it's fried chicken. The sauce is very good, the shakes are very thick, and believe it or not, the line out the door moves at a decent pace. The service is great, my order was messed up and I had a replacement within seconds. The restaurant is colorful and clean, and I personally loved the buzz of people humming over the spicy rub. Anything under "mild" is kinda flavorless, so be brave and go for spicy! read more

The location is pretty small with a few tables not suitable for a larger group but food is on point. My husband signed a waiver and got the spiciest sandwich on the menu and instantly regretted that decision - it was Hella spicy (reaper!!) and I would only recommend that if you eat food for the level of spiciness and don't care about flavours as such since the reaper kills all your flavour buds. So this is the new chicken spot that opened in capitol hill. My lil cousin had the idea to eat here after watching a movie in Seattle. I do say if you come here come in the afternoon or right when opening. We stood in line outside for 20 minutes and stood inline to wait to order. Not to mention waiting another 15 for waiting on the food, and we ate inside cause it was cold that day. On total we spent $50 together the meal was about $20-25. We both ordered a tender and slider in a hot, and the amount of spice was perfect. Not too hot not to mild. Plus with the added drizzle of hot honey, and the Dave sauce was the best to top off.We also ordered the Mac n cheese which was kinda wet almost like a Safeway Mac n cheese but it was cheese to say to perfectly cut the spiciness of the chicken. The ambiance while waiting for our food was pretty cool the mural of Seattle had pieces of Seattle. For a big wall space. Must I order it again? Possibly. If I'm in the area mid afternoon before the night goers comes to wait in line like waiting to get into the club in the order then perhaps! Dave's Hot Chicken was created by best friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan. Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller's (French Laundry) organization set out to create the perfect Hot Chicken by searching, tasting, and frying. The four friends scrounged up $900 to put a tiny stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. The menu was simple, and chicken was the star. And what chicken it is! Sourced and prepared to be the juiciest and most tender imaginable with each piece topped with Dave's own mix of spices ranging from "Mild" to "The Reaper". Arman created Instagram buzz and the lines began to grow. Two nights later, Eater/LA showed up to see what the fuss was about. The next morning's headline read "East Hollywood's Late Night Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind". Almost instantly, the lines stretched around the block. A year later, the boys had the money to open a shop in a hip strip-mall with de_cor by local street artists, where the crowds continued to grow with wait-times of an hour and more. From there, the incredibly craveable "Hot and Spicy" varieties have created a cult following with rave reviews across the U.S. and Canada.

Established in 2017.

In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept -- take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw -- they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long. After 6 months of running the pop-up with long lines, the team took the plunge and opened their first physical store in January 2018 in a sleepy strip center in East Hollywood. Demand for their crave-able hot chicken exceeded all expectations and sales have grown every month since opening with consistently long lines throughout the day.

Wanted a spot for some late night grub and Dave's Hot Chicken did not disappoint. The place has some seating but it's also good for take out. They were doing to go orders like pros. The counter for to go orders looked crowded but they had a system down and it worked. We took our food to go and had about a twenty minute drive and our food was still hot and fresh when we got home. We each got a combo #3, a slider and a tender and then a side of Mac and cheese and a small chocolate shake. The chicken is huge! Definitely getting your bang for a buck here. They only have Dave's sauce or cheese sauce, so if you want another dipping sauce, your out of luck (at least I couldn't find any). The Mac and cheese wasn't fancy, just noodles and a cheese sauce but it hit the spot for what I was craving - just old school cafeteria style Mac and cheese. Oh and the bun the slider was on, very yummy! The fries were crinkle cut and seasoned nicely. The shake was just alright for me. It was crowded and the line was a decent size but they give you buzzers and we didn't have to wait long. They had someone cleaning the bathrooms and the dining area, which was nice to see. Definitely going to be going here again. Limited menu but good chicken, and the fact they are open late is great! read more

Came here on a Friday night around 8:45pm. We're not from the area so we were anxiously following our Google Maps until we spotted the purple lights and saw a big crowd of people standing outside. The parking is really confusing because from what we saw it was only street parking and the roads are very tight. We looped around and got lucky with a decent stall up on a hill. All I can say is the hype is real!!!! After weeks of watching YouTube videos of this yummy chicken I can say it's frickin awesome! I got medium spice level and the hubby got mild. We got 2 sliders and 4 tenders. There was a line, but it moved quickly. The workers were kind and looked happy even though they might of been stressed with the crowd. The place was packed with young adults or kids? who just like all of us- like themselves some yummy hot chicken! When our buzzer went off we grabbed our food (to go) and asked for extra extra Dave's sauce. The worker did NOT skimp and threw in a huge handful (god bless you lol). Best fried chicken I've ever had. So flavorful and just the right amount of spice. Can you guys make a location in Hawai'i?! I'll be your #1 customer haha!!
