Got 2 tenders (1 hot, 1 medium) with fries and slaw for delivery. Tenders were a really good size, and both hot and medium were tasty, though I think I'm leaning more toward the hot as my preference. Fries were the crinkle cut kind, like you get in the frozen section of the grocery store. Kale slaw was really good. I had expected the tenders to be covered in sauce for some reason, but they were covered in powder, like Cheeto dust. They do come with a house sauce that's pretty good. Overall, I liked it and would order again next time I'm craving fried chicken. read more

Was finally able to try the location in Seattle!! The meat was either juicy or dry depending on which spice level you get. It smelled great but when I took a bite, I didn't really taste much. Maybe something was wrong with my taste buds that day. I really liked the mac and cheese, no one else in my group enjoyed it though. Their sauce didn't really have a special taste to it. Was a little disappointed with this location but I could've went on a bad day. All the staff members were super kind. The inside is pretty small if you're coming with a big group. The line gets long so better to come during non rush hours! read more

This was my second time at Dave's, but the first time trying this location. The chicken was great, I split the 2 slider combo with my friend and we got mild and medium. With all these "Nashville hot chicken" spots popping up all over its not easy for these spots to distinguish themselves from each other but Dave's Hot Chicken does manage to do it quite well! What's there not to love!!! If you love chicken, if you love flavor, if you love spice, this is your place! Literally the best fried chicken I've ever had! I ordered both extra hot and the reaper! We had to sign a waiver for the reaper which scared me a bit but got me even more curious to try that, even if I just got a bite in! But to be honest, it was totally edible! The waiver might scare you but if you can eat spicy the reaper is amazing! For every one bite of the reaper, I had 3 bites of the extra hot to compensate! The reaper just gave it a kick which I loved! On the contrary to the reviews claiming the chicken was dry, I thought it was designed perfectly! Absolutely loved loved the crunch, the inside was perfect amount of juice without being greasy! It literally is the best fried chicken in town! The place is new so it is well designed and clean! I didn't think this was all the hype. The chicken was underwhelming to me. It was on the drier side. But their fries were very good with the sauces. We were a little disappointed that the bread is just white bread that isn't toasted or anything. So there was nothing special if you got bread. My boyfriend and I have tried a lot of different chicken places and we don't think that this fried chicken made it on our list for a place we would revisit. The employees were very nice and welcoming. Just unfortunately, the food was okay. The establishment is in Cap Hill so it is very difficult to find street parking. When we went there was very few seats available. So we had to wait a few minutes in order to sit down. The restaurant is pretty small overall. read more

Dave's was one of my all time favorites in SoCal and so I was very excited for them to open in Seattle. Overall it's a similar (great) quality at a reasonable price although there are differences. Most importantly the chicken is still delicious, juicy, and tender...but a little less so? The pieces of chicken we got were thinner and so it didn't taste as amazing as we know Dave's can be. Still good though and maybe a one-off thing! The spice levels were higher than expected. I used to eat the Extra Hot without a problem but here the Hot had me shaking a little. Weirdly the Medium didn't feel like anything to me so I think there is a little inconsistency there. The fries are just as good. Crispy, well seasoned and delicious served with a helping of Dave sauce (an aioli blend). Finally I will note that this place is much cheaper than alternatives in Seattle. The two of us shared a combo + Mac and cheese for $20 which is well below the normal lunch price. Respect to Dave's for not gouging the price here. read more

got to try dave's for the first time! even on a weekday afternoon (4:45pm), the line was out the door and around the corner, and it probably took us half an hour to 45 min to get our order in, and another 20-30 min to get our food. come with patience or pre game before because you'll probably have to wait to order, wait for your food, and then wait some more for a table. aside from that, the food was good. the tenders are actually pretty big, and i could split my combo between two meals (btw, chicken heats up quite nicely the next day!). the chicken was juicy and tender. i got the medium spice, and considering i can't handle spice very well, it really wasn't all that spicy. the flavor has more of a sweetness than savory, which i was not expecting. the slice of bread that comes with the tenders and the bread on the sliders is really nothing special. the fries were nice, crispy when they were fresh, nicely seasoned. a little expensive for fast food, but good quality food, would prob come back if/when the line isnt all up pike... read more

My husband really wanted to try this place for the longest time and they finally have one in the Washington State. But it is a disappointment for him. When we first walked in, we were amused by the environment and the art wall. When we ordered we added extra cheese, no pickles for me, and medium and mild #3. There is a huge inconsistency on this. First the Oreo milk shake did not blend into the milk shake, and it just tasted meh and just vanilla milk shake instead of Oreo shake. Second, there were so many pickles on my box which I specifically mentioned twice no pickles, on the side nor on the sliders, but pickles pretty much everywhere. Lastly, and this is probably the worst part, they gave my husband either the hottest one or the one before it, and note that my husband can eat good amount of spicy food. My mild was pretty good and I didn't taste much of spice, but medium is only one step before mild, and it was burning hot that's made my husband stomach hurt the rest of the night. My daughter likes this place when she was in Irvine. So I gotta try this since now they open one in seattle. Got there around 2pm. Pretty decent line. Plenty of space to seat front area and back. The menu is simple #1, 2 , 3 or 4, and you can order just chicken strips only or add other sides. I tried #3 one chicken strip, a slider with fries for $13.99. Spicy level normal. I should have order spicier. It is more salty than spicy. I like the crispness of the outside. Not too oily. The restaurant looks pretty clean. The line wait was about 10min, and another 10min for the food to come out. They gave you a pager looking thing to let you know when your food is ready to pick up. Overall, it's ok. read more

This place just opened like a month ago and there's always a line to get in. My boyfriend and I decided to check out what the hype was about. We got the combo #3. We both got spice level hot and it sure was hot. I could probably do extra hot but not reaper. You can substitute the fries for another side item which is nice. My boyfriend got the Mac n cheese instead of the fries and it was basic Mac n cheese. The fries were good and the size of the slider was good. We waited like 30-40mins to get in the door and order, then another 30 to get our food. The food wasn't worth the wait. I'd rather have a Popeye's chicken sandwich. read more

As a first time customer: my to go order thru Ubereats, my pickles was not in a container it was sitting in the bag. This is just wrong and I work in a food industry as well. This is uncalled for. Dave's hot chicken is a great stop for a quick meal. Located in Capital Hill between Cal Anderson Park and Seattle University campus, it can be a bit difficult to find street parking and navigate to due to the constant road construction but is well worth the trip. We came on a Sunday afternoon. The store was busy with a line reaching the door from the front counter but we were up to order within a few minutes after arriving. You order at the counter and are given a buzzer that will notify you when your order is ready for pickup. Service is quick and I was offered extra sauce and ketchup when picking up my meal. The menu is concise, offering different combinations and preparations of Dave's chicken tenders at varying levels of spiciness as well as sides and drinks. My GF and I ordered the #1 (2 tenders + 2 slices of bread) and #2 (2 sliders). All combo orders come with crinkle cut fries, sliced pickles, and Dave's signature dipping sauce. We ordered both combos extra spicy. As spice lovers, we were happy to find that the extra spicy was actually spicy and had a lot of flavor. There is an extra level of spice which requires a signed waiver to order. We thought the extra spicy was hot enough. In both meals, the tenders were juicy and had plenty of spice seasoning. The kale slaw on the sliders felt absent and did not bring much to the experience of the entree. The fries are seasoned and the thick sliced pickles were a great palate cleanser to reset the spice. Everything was delicious and paired well with Dave's signature sauce. All in all, we had a great meal and experience at Dave's. The meals are relatively inexpensive, service is quick, and the food tastes amazing! We will definitely be coming back. read more

Food, service, pricing is great. The biggest downside is location. Super inconvenient spot for finding parking, people there are mostly rude, inconsiderate, and loud. The corner reeks of human waste and marijuana. People dressed provocatively. Definitely Not a place I'd bring my kids too specifically for these reasons. I get that it's Seattle and it's a given that these will be an issue but how about considering opening another chain elsewhere where it's cleaner and family friendly. I've been to this Capitol Hill location several times, and while I keep hoping it'll improve, it just hasn't. I've never been to any other Dave's Hot Chicken, so this spot is my only frame of reference -- and unfortunately, it consistently disappoints. The service is always slow, with long lines even during off hours. Once you finally get your food, it's hard to find a clean table -- most are sticky with honey, sauce, and crumbs, and it doesn't seem like staff clean them regularly. There's very limited seating despite how busy the place gets, and they're often out of napkins and straws, which staff take a long time to restock. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Dave's #3 combo (slider, tender, fries, and sauce). My slider came with two small scraps of chicken instead of a full tender. When I politely brought it up to who I think was a manager or supervisor, I was told that those two tiny pieces "equaled" one tender. Instead of fixing the issue, they just brushed it off -- which felt dismissive and unprofessional. This isn't the first time I've had a problem here either. A few months ago, I ordered a hot tender but was given a plain one instead, and when I mentioned it, they refused to replace it or even add the seasoning, responding rudely instead of trying to help. Overall, the food itself can be decent, but the inconsistent orders, dirty environment, and poor customer service make it hard to justify coming back. I really hope management steps up because this location doesn't reflect the standard that a popular brand like Dave's Hot Chicken should have. read more

My husband and I are regulars and love to eat here! We like to share a Dave's #2 with 2 sliders and fries. My go-to is the medium for a comfortable level of spice and my husband goes for the hot/extra hot depending on his mood. The fries are crispy, the chicken is juicy, really not much to complain about! The mac and cheese is creamy and a treat on days I'm really craving it. I would skip out on the milk shakes since the flavor tastes quite artificial. Not a lot of places are open late in Seattle so having Dave's open until 3a is a blessing for late night city folks like myself. Chicken portions were huge and came with slices of bread and pickle and sauces. If I'm going to be honest the chicken was delicious but nothing to really rave about. Just tastes like any other Nashville hot style chicken. Fries were fresh and hot. The establishment is small and can get packed fast especially in the evening. I came here on a Sunday morning/brunch time and despite less than 4 other people at the restaurant, my order did take 10 minutes or so to come out. The fries were crispy and the chicken came out at a good temperature. I got medium spicy and it was not spicy at all. I would say sirracha and Tabasco are both spicier than the "medium". I think I would go for extra hot next time. The warmer seats are towards the back. Those seats face the wall. The tables are towards the front. read more

Food (5/5): I would recommend the sliders over their tenders. The bun, sauce, pickles, cheese (extra), and slaw take the chicken up a notch. Chicken was juicy and fries were well seasoned. Their dry rub doesn't have much flavor other than spice. The Mac n Cheese was just okay so i'd skip that. Service (5/5): The workers were super helpful and knowledgeable with the spice levels! A worker told me that their "medium is a little less spicier than hot cheetos." He was right!! Ambiance (5/5): Chill place in Cap Hill with really good hours. Dave's Hot Chicken was created by best friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan. Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller's (French Laundry) organization set out to create the perfect Hot Chicken by searching, tasting, and frying. The four friends scrounged up $900 to put a tiny stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. The menu was simple, and chicken was the star. And what chicken it is! Sourced and prepared to be the juiciest and most tender imaginable with each piece topped with Dave's own mix of spices ranging from "Mild" to "The Reaper". Arman created Instagram buzz and the lines began to grow. Two nights later, Eater/LA showed up to see what the fuss was about. The next morning's headline read "East Hollywood's Late Night Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind". Almost instantly, the lines stretched around the block. A year later, the boys had the money to open a shop in a hip strip-mall with de_cor by local street artists, where the crowds continued to grow with wait-times of an hour and more. From there, the incredibly craveable "Hot and Spicy" varieties have created a cult following with rave reviews across the U.S. and Canada.

History

Established in 2017.

In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept -- take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw -- they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long. After 6 months of running the pop-up with long lines, the team took the plunge and opened their first physical store in January 2018 in a sleepy strip center in East Hollywood. Demand for their crave-able hot chicken exceeded all expectations and sales have grown every month since opening with consistently long lines throughout the day.

The Barn Burner sandwich was decent though, and at a level three of spice, it had a nice heat. I'll give them another chance down the road, but ultimately, in a city that has so many great fried chicken options (Triangle Spirits, S/T Hooligans, and Sisters and Brothers), it's going to be hard to make the decision to choose them again after the meal I had.

The counter for to go orders looked crowded but they had a system down and it worked. We took our food to go and had about a twenty minute drive and our food was still hot and fresh when we got home. All I can say is the hype is real!!!! After weeks of watching YouTube videos of this yummy chicken I can say it's frickin awesome! I got medium spice level and the hubby got mild. We got 2 sliders and 4 tenders. There was a line, but it moved quickly. The workers were kind and looked happy even though they might of been stressed with the crowd. The place was packed with young adults or kids? who just like all of us- like themselves some yummy hot chicken! When our buzzer went off we grabbed our food (to go) and asked for extra extra Dave's sauce. The worker did NOT skimp and threw in a huge handful (god bless you lol). Best fried chicken I've ever had. So flavorful and just the right amount of spice. Can you guys make a location in Hawai'i?! I'll be your #1 customer haha!!
