We love Louies, in the door it bright and clean. The staff is so, so friendly and the Texas Hots are awesome but love, love, love the shoe string fries. Thank guys

I tried 3 hot dog places in Buffalo and this came in at #2. I loved their spicy sauce and staff was friendly. Would definitely hit this place again.

    Overcooked hotdog with minimal sauce!

Well first off the patio was closed. Restrooms were closed and it was filthy! We went to order and they had no clue what they were doing. We got our food they used half a bottle of mustard on two hotdogs with minimal sauce. The hotdogs and the burgers were way overcooked!! They were not Sahlens hotdogs!! They did redo the hotdogs that were overloaded with mustard but they were still overcooked. They also didn't steam the rolls! This used to be our favorite location. We will NOT return!!

    Sam was great

Sam was great. The food tasted delicious. It was a great spot to hang out after leaving the bar.

The service was great and the food was good. I've been coming here for years and never had an issue.

Louise was open 24 hours until a few months ago. They are still open from early until late. Taking to the manager, he said that despite the reduced hours, their business went up, not down. Stop in for a meal, and you will understand why. Seriously: you could close your eyes and randomly pick something on the menu, and you'll be happy with what you get. The steak and cheese sub was huge and flavorful. I got home fries with it. Man, those are good. The grilled cheese is how every grilled cheese should be: buttery and crispy. The fries are also perfectly done. I wanted to get a picture of my wife's grilled chicken sandwich, but she loved it so much that she had eaten half of it already. Hers was served with feta cheese, which is a sophisticated choice for such a humble setting. And, of course, Louie's has hotdogs in their name, and they do serve a flawless dog, however you happen to like it. And, the service is lightning quick, plus the price won't set you back that much. And - AND! - they let you take your dogs to the outdoor area. My only regret is that New York has changed their rules for out of state residents. The locals have it pretty good here.

Such a great option when you're hungry super early or super late! Came here and had a fantastic breakfast....twice in one week! The Greek Omelette is to die for! Their home fries are ah-may-zing. I suped up my omelette with spinach, mushrooms and onions ;) I would most definitely come back, and enjoy a hearty meal for a low price (good on a budget option).

Finally a hot dog place is back on Elmwood Ave! The hopes were high for Louie's and the were mostly met. If you love Ted's hot dogs you should know up front that this is not Ted's! If you want a hot dog in the style of Ted's save yourself some heart ache and just go there. With that said, these guys have top notch loaded Texas Red Hot and the fries are nice and crispy. The location is newly built out and feels like it would be nice to hang out at ( I had take out this time). The staff was nice and my food came quick. What more can you ask for in a hot dog joint?

How does a Canadian living in the States celebrate memorial day? Well, I do it by eating a hot dog and a cheeseburger because it seems to be the thing to do. I stopped by Louie's Texas Red Hots on Monday (My second trip to a Louie's location since relocating to Buffalo) looking to get my Memorial Day fix. The place was completely empty which threw me for a loop since last Memorial Day I went to Ted's and the lines were practically wrapping around the building. I'm an idiot so I ordered a texas red hot not realizing that the toppings are what makes it that, and the employee who blankly stared at me like I was an idiot made it known instead of rather just explaining to me. Once we finished ordering and she asked for a name she again seemed irritated that I answered instead of my girlfriend, for some reason. Once the food actually came out I was underwhelmed with pretty much everything. I had a hot dog with meat sauce and it tasted like every other run of the mill hot dog you could order from a diner. The cheeseburger was alright, but "alright" is as far as I would go. The food was all decent but nothing to really praise or mention again. Would I come back? Maybe. Would I ever be the one to suggest coming back? Most likely not.

I was craving a hot dog, and it was good. I won't dream of it, but if I was passing and needed a snack the hot dog would suffice. The service was great, quick and friendly; the place was basic. The seating was tables and chairs so you don't have to perch on a stool, the lighting was good to read in.

(Also- the hours online and Yelp/Google Maps are different than what's posted on the door.) I decided to see if the door was open in case the sign just wasn't flipped to "open". I also like the fact you can dine in or even do takeout. Today I decided on takeout.. the serving sizes are very decent, and the prices are more than fair. I strongly recommend checking them out. Breakfast sandwich- choice of bacon or sausage. Really nice satisfying sandwich. I really like the type of roll that was used. Plus the sandwich wasn't greasy or sloppy at all. Breakfast bowl- For me, I was able to share with my wife. The to-go container was pack. Every bite full had meat, cheese potatoes, and eggs. The ingredient ratio was spot on. You didn't have to much of this and not enough of that. Chicken and waffle- breast was moist and seasoned well for my liking. I loved the waffle flavor. Whatever waffle mix they are using. They need to keep using it and never change up.

The service was quick and our waitress was nice, but the food was not great. We ordered the strawberry crepe, local eggs breakfast special, and the seafood crepe. The local egg breakfast was good and basic so it's hard to mess that up, but the crepes were not good, especially the seafood, but the side salad that came with it was delicious. I don't plan on coming back here and wouldn't recommend it to friends/family.

I honestly can't remember the last time I was able to order breakfast at a restaurant. While visiting Buffalo with my boyfriend in November 2025, his college friend spent the morning taking us to several restaurants trying to find a place where I could safely eat. After striking out everywhere else, Betty's was our last stop--and what a blessing it was! Alice, our host, was warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure my food allergies were handled safely. I was able to order a bacon, "egg" and avocado sandwich made to accommodate my allergies, and it was incredible. I hadn't enjoyed a breakfast sandwich from a restaurant in over a decade! It was so delicious that I went back again before leaving Buffalo and even ordered another sandwich to take home. For anyone living with food allergies, you know how rare it is to find a restaurant that truly understands safe food preparation while still serving amazing food. I'm from New York City, and I still haven't found a place that compares. 1,000 stars! I can't recommend Betty's highly enough.

We were rewarded with two truly special brunch items ... a layered "French toast" that I stared at as a diner near me ate hers and an orange infused pair of delicious waffles. They were perfect and filling (This ended up as our only meal on this beautiful Sunday.). The quality of service matched the food ... we lingered soaking in the atmosphere just enjoying life at Betty's.
