Went here for early bird with my parents. The staff is very friendly. $14 cash only for an appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert and coffee. It is not BYOB, so if you plan to have a drink, it's not unreasonable, but know it will add cost. The portions are huge. read more

Great place, the lunch is a really good deal for the price. When ordering the soup you don't need to ask what it is because this place has the best soups around. One of the best steaks around. Good service, nice looking place, parking lot is small but you don't eat outside. read more

I completely disagree with Tedi r. I have been to Davia's and it's perhaps one of the best restaurants in the area. I say this for two reasons: First, the comfort and environment that is created by the staff makes it more welcoming than many places I have been. As a handicap person, Ms. Michele and her staff have always provided me with a table that is very accessible. Secondly, the food is outstanding. The portions are generous and delicious. When I saw the review of Tedi r., I was very puzzled because all of my experiences at Davia's are above par and contrary to Tedi r. I have seen their kitchen and it is very clean. Regarding the bug they mentioned in their review, it was probably a lightening bug or beetle, as it is the summertime and doors are always opening and closing. read more

The food was not good don't waste your money. They definitely forgot our apps we had to ask for them 30 mins after we placed our order. I get it, it happens- but the waitress said "we don't rush people here" kind of offensive but whatever. It was a Caesar salad and oysters. The place looks really old. Never even knew this restaurant existed until I found it on Yelp, but its a good find. Waitstaff is very friendly like a neighborhood joint, and the menu has your typical Italian fare that you find at most Italian joints around here. Food was tasty and the welcoming atmosphere makes it a place you want to return to. Particularly enjoy their soups, penne a la vodka, and linguini with clam sauce. The prices are very reasonable, and they run a ridiculous earlybird 5 course dinner special if you are an early diner. read more

This gem on Fair Lawn Avenue offers an excellent dining atmosphere and delicious traditional Italian cuisine for a mature crowd. Several appetizers are uniquely presented and generously portioned. Veal and shrimp with cognac sauce is superb. The deserts are nicely presented and flavorful. Tables are close but volume is not overwhelming. Staff makes you feel like family. I really want to like them, and keep trying. I only go sometimes because my buddies like the place (and the $15 early bird dinner). It is a good value, but the food is not worth the deal. The salad doesn't taste fresh and they use a sub-par dressing. The appetizers are good; I love the fried mozzarella sticks. But for the main dish, on my last 2 visits, I tried the salmon which came out not hot enough and rather soggy, and then chicken franchese which was too heavy and tough to chew. Usually chicken fran. is light with a citrus taste from the lemon, but theirs had a thicker, heavier brown sauce which neither tasted nor looked right. The desserts are fun, as long as they have tartuffo or ice cream. Like I said, it seems a good value for all you get, but the food quality is just not there. You get what you pay for! I visited with my husband and son. My first impression wasn't great as we waited in the entry for some time before even being acknowledged. Once we were, we were mistaken for a being with the couple standing next to us that was part of a large party, and we were left unattended again, while their 7 top was prepared by the greeter. (I later learned this was the owner) I finally had to interrupt to ask if we needed a reservation, and then we were finally seated. The fried calamari appetizer tasted frozen and was greasy. We had to endure listening to a staff member extend her full opinion of homosexuals to the people at the table next to us. Lastly, I did not enjoy my risotto with vegetables, scallops and shrimp. When the waiter asked what was wrong, I explained that the seafood had a strange charred flavor and the risotto was not prepared as I was accustomed to. In fact, the scallops did not taste fresh and the black greasy specks on the scallops and shrimp tasted like ash. The risotto was a clumped mess, not at all smooth and creamy as it should be. The waiter apologized & took my plate. At that point, the "greeter" I mentioned earlier, came to the table and told me in few words that my taste was off, the chef uses imported risotto, they sold 20 of these dishes with no complaints, and then stormed away without even waiting for a response. I learned from the waiter, that this woman is the owner. Her inability to question what I felt was off, engage me in a dialog, or show common courtesy, instead blaming me and my taste buds for a meal I did not enjoy, was extremely rude and unprofessional. I think this owner needs to re-think how she deals with her customers, including the people that are not regulars that were clearly doted on. I was stunned and hurt by her rude behavior. The waiter apologized but she did not come back into the dining room and I left, angry, insulted and hungry. This restaurant needs to be reviewed again. read more

arrived later than my party did and found out from my friend that the hostess was complaining to her about the door being left open too long and people were complaining about the ac. stroke victim could not move too fast and was having difficulty getting in but managed, hostess michelle (slut) was adamant about her hurrying to close the door even after finding out a disabled person was the cause. if i ever eat in that rathole again it will be a miracle..and stay away from the fresh mozzarelle.. polly o is much better read more
